Daven watched Jay's face as she said those words back at him and she couldn't help but smile widely. Almost like an idiot as she bit her lower lip. This was one good thing that came out of today, despite the fact that she had to leave in less than a day. Maybe the timing wasn't the greatest, but now she had something to look forward to at the end of the quest. But what was the greatest at that moment was him kissing her. He pulled her closer by the hips and Daven moved her arms so they were wrapped around his neck as she kissed him back and pressed up against him slightly. She was going to savor this the best she could since she didn't know how long she'd go without seeing him again.

Kissing Jay was great, but when wasn't it great? His lips were so soft and he was a good kisser as well. As she pulled away from his lips, she kept her eyes closed as he pressed his forehead up against hers. But then he said something that she wasn't expecting. Three little words. She opened her eyes to look up at him as she studied his face for a moment. He really meant it, which made Daven smile a bit before she said back to him softly, "I love you too." And it was something she really, truly meant even if it made the quest a little bit harder. She would be a little too eager to return home. But she didn't want to think about the quest right now. Nope. She just wanted to think about his lips on hers as she leaned in for another kiss.

Daven shrugged her shoulders as he called her out at the mention of Chinese restaurants in the area. She liked Chinese food and that was the only thing that she was pretty sure that Boston would have besides pizza and Starbucks. "You did?" she asked as she raised her eyebrows at him. "That seems pretty cool. My dad's a lawyer so I didn't get to do anything with that. They were angry all the time and liked to use big words." She giggled a bit as her eyes glanced down to his lips. They were so close right now and she didn't know how long she would go without kissing him once she was on this quest. "Then cold pizza I can do," she said before she reached up to kiss him briefly, but lingered a bit as she pulled away.

"I'm pretty sure there's more to Boston than just pizza," Daven laughed as she shook her head. "Like maybe Chinese restaurants or maybe a McDonald's and... I don't know... maybe a good chunk of our country's history as well." She smirked up at him just as he leaned down to peck her on the lips. She giggled a bit as he pulled away as she bit her lower lips. She gave his arms a gentle squeeze as she looked up at him and returned his smirk. "Out of all the things I could bring you back as souvenirs from Boston and you want pizza?" She giggled as she rolled her eyes. "I hope you don't mind cold pizza, because there's no way I can bring back a hot, fresh pizza from Boston in a timely manner."

Daven had to laugh and roll her eyes. This was the first time she was feeling okay, probably more than okay, since she got the news about her quest. Here she was worrying about having to leave camp and her friends, especially Jay, and he was thinking about food. How typical. "Of course you would know something about the pizza joints there," she said as she shook her head and let some of her hair fall into her face. "I doubt we'll get enough time to enjoy any pizza joints around there, but I can maybe mention it to the people I'm questing with... but I don't know if they're the pizza types." She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know though... maybe we could have time for pizza. I'm not sure about these quest things."

It looked liked that Jay was taking the news just as well has Daven had, if not worse. She pressed her lips together as she looked up at him as he mumbled something about her getting hurt. That would be a thing, wouldn't it? Daven was so focused on other things that she didn't realize that she was going to be outside of camp which meant monsters and other enemies. But Jay did put his hands on her hips as she uncrossed her arms to rest her hands on his upper arms. "I'll try," she said as she shrugged her shoulders a bit. "I mean... I don't know what all we're doing. I overheard Chiron mention something about Boston. Boston shouldn't be that bad, right?"

Something was clearly bothering her? If that was the case, then she had to start working on her poker face. Not like she had one in the first place. Daven sighed loudly as she reached up to push the hair out of her face again as she looked at Jay. "You know with the whole Kraken attack earlier? Chiron's sending campers out on a quest to find something to prevent that from happening again since that's been two in the past five years." She pressed her lips together as she hesitated for a moment. She crossed her arms across her chest as she shifted a bit. "He selected me to go on the quest because my brother was the one that led it here in the first place. I'm supposed to be leaving sometime tomorrow, but I thought you should know before I went and disappeared on you."

Daven waited there for a few seconds wondering if she was really a fool to assuming that Jay would be in his cabin right now. For all she knew, he could've been out doing cabin activities. Why didn't she check the schedule in the Big House? Before she could turn around and march there to check, the door opened and Daven breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it was Jay and it looked like he was the only one in the cabin.
"Hey, thanks," she said a bit breathlessly as she sidestepped passed him into his cabin. She turned around to look at him as she reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "So... umm... how are you?" she asked just for the pleasantries. Personally, she wanted to get past them as soon as possible so she could tell Jay the real reason she had stopped by.

Daven really didn't know what the heck she was doing at the moment. She should not have been flustered by Jay at all. She used to be good at this flirting thing and dating thing or whatever thing this was before Cody died. She had to be rusty. That had to be it. She really didn't noticed that Jay had reached up to move her hands away from her face until she noticed that their hands were intertwined. She smiled sheepishly at him before she gave his hands a gentle squeeze. "Do you want to get out of here?" she asked a little abruptly like she just thought of it. "Like take a walk or something? Not around the lake, because I don't trust you around big bodies of water anymore."

"No..." Daven said quickly as her eyes widened and she shook her head. "No no no. That's not what I mean at all. What I mean is..." She pressed her lips together as she crossed her arms over her chest and fidgeted a bit. She couldn't dare to look at Jay at that moment, especially since it only seemed to make the blush on her face even worse. But she had to tell him something, but at the same time, she was probably going to make a fool out of herself, which was just especially great since they had just kissed.
After a few moments she turned to look back at him as she ran her hand through her hair. "I don' know what I mean..." she finally admitted as her face got even redder before she decided to uncross her arms so she could bury her face in her hands. "I'm horrible at this..." she said as she peaked up at him between her fingers. "Whatever this is. I'm out of practice."

Of course, since things were looking up, they had to take a dramatic downfall fast. Not only was it bad enough that Daven found out that her brother, Cody, had led the attack on the Kraken and saw it for her own eyes, now she was getting forced on some quest. Honestly, she didn't want to do it in the first place, but Chiron said it would be the only way she would bring back honor to her family name. It sounded like some Mulan bullshit since Daven didn't even pick her surname to begin with. Cody was the one who took it on and now she was the one to pay for it. She was given about twenty-four hours get everything in order before she had to go to the outside world. She should've been packing or maybe making arrangements with her siblings, but there was one thing that stuck out in her mind: Jay. He had to know. She didn't want to leave without saying goodbye or the boy might think she was purposely avoiding him, which wasn't the case at all. So once she got her news, she made her way to the Apollo cabin without thinking twice before she knocked on the door. Hopefully, he was home or she would look like a fool. (tag: Jay Sun Keon ) |

Jay had winked at her and raised his eyebrows. He was being flirty and, once again, Daven was feeling shy around him. She didn't know why she was suddenly feeling shy again since she had just kissed the boy not once, but twice. But that still didn't stop the blush creeping onto her face as she sheepishly smiled at him. She thought she was pretty cool with Jay or, at least, as cool as you can get with kissing a guy, so this was just a major setback for her.
And then she realized his hands were still on her hips as she felt his thumb gently rub her skin. "I... ummm..." she muttered as she felt her heart race along with her breathing hitched a bit. "I... I..." She started to move her arms from around his neck. "I should go somewhere... that's... not my cabin?" she said as her question that ended with a squeak.

Daven heard the cries from around camp and she was completely terrified to leave her cabin. The Kraken was back and the last time it had touched their shore, her brother died. It wouldn't have been a big deal this time around, but Cody wasn't dead. There was still a good chance that he could relive his death again. And that was something that was Daven was terrified to witness. It took her a good couple of minutes to muster up the strength to put on her armor and grab her bow and arrow before she ran out the door.
The monster looked like the one that was haunting her dreams. It was too surreal for her to completely take it all in, so she just went into survival mode. She had to make it out alive and keep camp safe before she could worry about Cody. She made it past the lake where she saw a bunch of Hermes kids before she froze. The Kraken was not alone.
"Cody..." she muttered once she saw her stepbrother on its back. Was he a traitor? Did he cause this? Her heart pounded in her chest as her mind raced before she pulled her bow and arrow off of her back. "WHAT ARE YOU STANDING AROUND FOR?!" she screamed at the Hermes kids before she turned her attention back to the Kraken and notched her arrow to take aim and its eye.

"That's good," Daven said as she smiled back at Jay. His smile was pretty infectious and this was legitimately the happiest she had been in a long while. It was probably the first time since her brother died that she was this happy. And things were looking up. Her brother was alive and she got to kiss a cute boy not once, but twice. Maybe things were going to get better. Maybe.
She giggled a bit as she moved an arm from around his neck so she could gently tap him on the nose in a boop. "You're funny, you know that right?" she said with a bit of a smirk. She thought she looked alright, but it didn't hurt to tease him a little, especially with all that teasing that he put he through earlier.

Daven pretended to ponder his question for a moment before her smirk grew a little bit wider. "Nah," she said with a bit of a giggle in her voice. "It doesn't take that much at all." Daven really liked the little things. Those really made her happy. Kisses, brothers being alive. It really didn't take a lot for her. She tilted her head to the side as she cocked and eyebrow at him. "What about you? Are you happy?" she asked before she bit the corner of her lip. She noticed that his hands moved from her rear to her hips and up underneath her hoodie. She blushed a bit, but it wasn't too horrible. It wasn't like his hands weren't anywhere that were inappropriate for right now.
