It was not unusual for Viv to be pissed off. Her siblings got on her nerves quite often and she was pissed off quite often. However, the reason she was pissed off today was a brand new one. It was a boy. And not just any boy, but a boy she maybe talked with for about thirty minutes. She thought they were getting along and it didn't hurt that Viv thought he was kind of cute. But he just turned into a jerk at the drop of a hat and that's what really pissed her off. There was only one person who really got her and he wasn't even a person. Zeke was the only one who truly understood her around camp. Her siblings tried, but they failed. And Zeke was the only person she could truly find comfort in. So that's why she was sitting on the porch of the Big House cross-legged as Zeke was curled up in her lap. He was purring away as he dozed in her lap as Viv stroked his fur. Having him was one of the few calming things in her life and she hoped things stayed calm for a little bit longer. (tag: Drew Desher ) |

Oh great. He was getting mad at her because he was being a jerk towards her. Viv wouldn't have been surprised, but she completely was. She immediately glared at him as he went off at him. She didn't know what darkness really was? Oh he really didn't know. He only knew what he thought the darkness was while Viv got to experience it firsthand. An experience that she didn't want to relive again. "Oh trust me," she spat back at him. "I really know what the darkness is, but, according to you, I don't know." She huffed as she faced towards the ocean. She was royally pissed at the moment and she was about ready to storm out on him, but he was already taking that liberty himself.
She rolled her eyes as he said that Zeke should handle all social interactions for her. He was so wrong. So wrong. "You know cats kill for fun?" she called out to him, but she was done with it. She was over it. She picked herself from the sand and brushed herself off before she stormed off back to her cabin. She'd rather deal with her idiotic siblings then that jerk of a boy.

Viv was totally willing to play along with his bad boy persona he supposedly had, but the conversation seemed to turn a complete one-eighty. They were getting along just fine and then he just seemed to completely shut her out and down. She completely turned to face him as she raised her eyebrows at him. "I'm sorry," she said as she tilted her head to the side. "Have I managed to offend you in some way? I mean I've showered and we were getting along just a moment ago, so I don't know what your problem is."
And she rolled her eyes as she turned to look away from him as he talked about her sending Zeke after him. "I know what your problem is. You have a death wish. Well, worry no further, because I'm pretty sure that Zeke would have no problems taking care of you. So wish granted."

"But toes are weird," Viv quickly pointed out with a bit of a smirk. "Like they're stubby mini-fingers. Maybe that's why Zeke likes them. From that, I don't know if he would be the best judge of character either. Faces are kind of less weird, but who am I to judge?" She shrugged a bit to act like it was no big deal. Cats were weird with their habits and Zeke was no exception. And him picking the toes was one of those weird things cats did.
"Well damn," Viv said as she snapped her fingers as she looked out onto the ocean. "I thought you were too good to be true. A moody, mysterious guy on a beach who seemed nice." She gave a dramatic sigh as she shook her head. "Too bad that Zeke will probably have to off you too. And to think I thought we were getting along. Such a shame."

"Clue you in?" Viv asked as her smirk grew a little bit wider as she decided to lean back and rest on her elbows. She looked over at Drew as she kept her face completely calm and serious. "I'll give you a hint," she said. "You can just look in the mirror and it's there. Zeke might disagree. He might think your toes are fun to pounce on or whatever logic cats come up with. I think I know him, but he surprises me sometimes."
She glanced out towards the water for a moment before she looked back at Drew. "You promise to place nice?" she said as she gave a short, light laugh. "That might be a good enough reason to keep you around. A lot of the guys I know don't like playing nice at all. So maybe you'll be spared from Zeke's wrath... for now."

"Don't put yourself down," Viv said with a bit of a smirk. "There would have to be something to show off if Zeke is going through all the trouble of bringing your body to me." She gave him a once over as her smirk grew a little bit bigger. "You just might not know it yet." Being withe Drew and having him take all of her murderous jokes definitely beat hanging around her idiotic siblings. And like he said, the company was fine even if the view supposedly sucked. She'd just let himself believe that one.
"It helps keep a lot of people in line," Viv said with a little bit of a chuckle. "I either blackmail them or sic my cat on them. And I'm pretty sure that Chiron doesn't mind a few less campers running around, because more than likely they're giving him problems as well. So it's a bit of a symbiotic relationship in that regard. And it keeps Zeke happy too, so it's a win-win situation all around."

But the view sucked. Viv raised her eyebrows at that statement of his. She had a feeling he had implied quite a few other things, but she wasn't going to call him out on it quite yet. But he really had to be delusional if he thought that the beach was a horrible view. She just watched him calmly as he was just stretched out laying on the sand. He looked a little bit more relaxed than when she first came across him, but she figured that wasn't a horrible thing at all.
"Good," she said plainly as she nodded her head. "I think Zeke was going to go on another strike if I sent him out on another mission... or maybe he'd try to bring home your dead body... He doesn't really understand how to hide the evidence," she said with a slight smirk on her face.

"Zeke is pretty used to the dead thing I apparently radiate off," Viv said with a bit of a shrug. It was true, but her dead aurora was much stronger than others she met. That was pretty much expected after her accident. "So there's a good chance he'll might like you. But who knows. He is a cat after all and a quite possessive one as well." She didn't want to disclose how he almost mauled a couple of Apollo kids after her accident.
She raised her eyebrows when he mentioned that he could leave right now. "And here I thought we were having a good time," she said dryly as she shrugged again. "But no worries. I can always sic my cat on you later... if I wanted to, that is," she said teasingly as she used his words against him.

"Hey," Viv said as she looked over at Drew and pointed a finger at him. "I like my reputation as the queen of darkness. If that changes, then I'll know that it was you and you should sleep with one eye open." Viv smirked a bit to let him know she was kidding mostly. Gods forbid her siblings and the rest of the camp find out that there was a different side of her. But for some reason, she was okay with Drew slightly knowing. Maybe it was because death brought people together.
Nevertheless, Viv laughed when Drew said he was more of a cat person. "And that means I might like you a little bit better, Drew," she said with a smirk. "And my cat might like you too... but Zeke is Siamese and they have a mind of their own. So maybe he won't like you. Who knows." But she listened to his reason about why he was out here and Viv couldn't help but nod her head in agreement. This did sure beat being with her siblings in the cabin and she found the water slightly relaxing. "And now you're stuck with me. So I guess it's not the greatest alternative," she said with a chuckle and a shrug.

Viv turned her head to look at Drew as she raised her eyebrows at him. "Thanatos, eh?" she said with a bit of a smirk on her face. "You might have me beat, but I don't think so. You see, your dad is associated with butterflies. Everybody likes butterflies. If they don't, then they're completely a horrible person. It's like not liking puppies." Her smirk got a little bit wider as she looked at Drew. "Unless you're going to tell me right now that you don't like butterflies, then I completely understand why people avoid you like the plague."
She laughed slightly as she looked away as she shook her head. "But it's probably nice being a Thanatos kid. Then you don't have the stigma of being one of the Big Three's." She shrugged as she looked over at Drew and looked him over once before she looked him in the face. "So what are you doing out here by yourself?"

Viv rolled her eyes. "Well, Drew," she said with a bit of a smirk on her face, "it's not really creeping if you announce your presence beforehand like I did. You wouldn't even know if I was here if I was doing my creeping to my fullest ability." She chuckled lightly as she shook her head. "But people call me Viv. Just Viv" She wasn't quite sure about the Drew person in front of her, but she didn't dislike his company either. If anything, the boy sure knew how to whistle and carry the tune.
She laughed as Drew attempted to guess her cabin. "I would actually take them over the idiots that live in my cabin," she said before she decided to sit down on the beach next to him, but made sure there was a comfortable distance between the two of them. "Nah, I'm one of the evil kids that roams around in the Hades cabin. And, yes, my soul is as pitch black as you think it is," she said with a smirk before she ran her hand across the sand by her side.

Don't you know it's not nice to sneak up on people without warning? Viv chuckled as she shook her head. "I can't necessarily sneak up on you if I announce my presence beforehand. It kinda defeats the purpose." She shrugged her shoulders a bit as a slight smirk crept onto her lips. "Like, I could not let you know I was coming until last second and do something... I don't know.... whatever my siblings do whenever they decide to be idiots." She was pretty sure they did a lot of idiotic stuff, but she was never around to witness it and she preferred it better that way.
She looked at the boy for a moment before she raised an eyebrow at him. "So if you're not a musician, then who are you? Or are you just known as that Boy-Who-Whistles-On-the-Beach? That's a bit of a mouthful if you ask me."

Viv was avoiding her cabin, again, and her idiotic siblings, again. They never understood her and they understood her less after her accident. They were the children of death and they were supposed to be comfortable with it. Well, none of them actually lived through their death and lived to tell their tale. So it was very rare that she actually stuck around her siblings for any longer than an hour. She even slept in places in order to avoid her siblings. On days like today, she would be hanging out with Zeke, her Siamese cat that had a mouth of his own, but he was nowhere in sight. So instead, she wandered around camp to every place she knew that her siblings wouldn't be and that led her eventually to the beach.
It was a nice and quiet stroll on the beach. It seemed a little too nice, but the breeze was a bit chilly and Viv didn't think to bring her jacket at all, so she crossed her arms across her chest. Usually, she tried to avoid major bodies of water, but for some reason, the ocean didn't bother her as much. She really had no purpose of walking along the beach until hear it. It was music. Low and somber. And something about it just tugged at Viv that she had to investigate. It was further down the beach until she found the source of it.
It was a boy. Dark hair. She hadn't seen him around camp before, but as far as she could tell, it wasn't one of her idiotic siblings. And something was different about him. Viv couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she decided to walk up to him. "That's a nice song you have there," she said when she was close enough that he could hear her. "Are you a musician or something?"

Viv is secretive to a point. She doesn't like talking about her NDE (near-death experience), even if it is camp knowledge by now. She's also fearful. She's afraid of growing close to others, especially romantically. She'd rather have several one night stands than be steady with one guy. She's afraid of losing others, especially since she's very aware how fragile the life of a demigod can be.

Kimberly Jennings worked three part time jobs and took night classes to get her degree in nursing when Hades met her. He was inspired by her ambition and fell in love with her. Nine month later and along came Viviana and Kimberly did everything in her power to raise the girl right.
Viv grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in one of the toughest neighborhoods in her hometown. It didn’t get shot up every day, but the people weren’t the friendliest. She learned to grow a tough skin and be very loud. That was the only way she could survive until she was 11.
On her eleventh birthday, she was attacked by a sphinx. She managed to fend it off some before a satyr came to rescue her. Together, they made the long trek to Camp Half-Blood where she was claimed as a daughter of Hades. Part of this made sense to her, but she started out hating Hades. What kind of father would allow one of his children to grow up like Viv?
For the first couple of years she avoided her cabin like the plague. She didn't know her brothers and sisters as well as other people did. Her cabin slowly grew on her and she learned to be insulted when someone claimed she was an Ares kid instead. But she thought that being the child of Hades was more of a title than an actual family relation.
When she was 14, Viv had a near-death experience and a meeting with her father that she never talks about. She drowned in the lake, but since it was cold, the conditions were perfect for them to resuscitate her. For a few years, she lived in fear, but now that the event is growing further away, she's almost back to her old self, with the exception that she never lets anyone too close to her.
