Maya smiled shyly and introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Briar, I sorta just got here." She stood there awkwardly as Atalanta continued to dry herself off, not too sure as to what to do with herself. "So um, I'm not actually sure what I'm supposed to do... I was wondering if maybe you could show me around? Or at least lead me in the right direction? If you're busy I can try to find my way around but I kinda don't want to make a fool out of myself..." Great. Now I'm rambling. "Sorry, I start to ramble on when I'm nervous... Bad habit."

While Maya was enjoying her time, her thoughts were interrupted by a German Shepherd barking at her. She opened her eyes and smiled at the dog, scratching the pet behind the ears who barked in approval. "Well hello there! Now who do you belong to?" She looked around her as she stood, scanning the area for the dog's potential owner and found a girl by the water, drenched head to toe. Maya grabbed a spare towel from her bag and led the dog over to hand the towel to the girl. "Um, hi I was wondering if this was your dog? He kinda came over to me and I don't know where he came from..."

I am a demigod. Funny isn't it? How life can change so quickly. One moment Maya Daniels was ordinary girl. The next moment she was a demigod. At Camp Half Blood, where she'll really learn who she is, who she is meant to be; a daughter of Aphrodite. She does not know this yet. This comes later on in her new story. But for now, her father's lecturing her about safety. As if the word belongs in the dictionary of a demigod. No running into unnecessary battles, stay away from poisons, etc, etc. The teenage girl sighed and reassured her father as they made it to the base of the hill.
"I know dad. I'll be careful." He only nodded in reply and helped her with her bags as they both stared at the tall pine at the top.
"Do you think I can handle it?" Maya turned to her dad, now doubting if she was really meant for this life. He sighed and pulled her into a warm hug, one last time before she leaves him for the summer.
"You can do anything you put your mind to. Now go, have fun." With one last kiss on her forehead and a gentle push, Maya made her climb to the top, looking ahead. Taking a deep breath, she stepped within the camp boundaries.
Sooooo now what? She stood alone at the top of the great hill, the view of camp sprawled before her. Not too sure as to what to do with herself, she decided to wander, explore the camp on her own. She'd notice glance at her as she walked by but never stopped to introduce herself, too shy and unfamiliar to her surroundings to really approach anyone yet. Eventually found herself at the lake, watching campers have fun with friends. Wanting to ease her nerves she dropped her bags at the base of a tree and slipped her shoes off to dip her feet into the water. She sighed to herself, taking in the fresh air; something different from the stuffy downtown air she's used to. I can get used to this.

FRIENDS Maya loves to make friends, only problem is that she can be a bit shy at first, especially because she just arrived at camp for the first time. After she's gotten used to the place however, she'll find approaching others easier. As for the process of making friends, she naturally makes friends rather easily, due to her friendly and kind nature. She's open to making friends with anyone really, wanting as many as possible. Those who share her love of music, fashion, ENEMIES Maya is a pacifist, and is not looking to make any enemies at all. The only "enemies" she might make are those who are mean to any friends she may make, and/or anyone who may threaten the camp. Instead of turning to hatred, she'll always try to make things right, not liking the negativity of hating someone. LOVERS As a daughter of Aphrodite, Maya is a bit of a hopeless romantic and is more than willing to find a potential boyfriend during her time at camp. She is in fact heterosexual, and finds kindness incredibly attractive, not caring about physical appearances. As for previous romantic encounters, she's never had a serious long term relationship before, just a few short ones here and there. She hopes to find that long term relationship while at camp. |
