Amy Williams i set fire to the rain Accalia was laughing. Which she happened to do a lot. She had just practically flattened a child of Hephaestus who walked away sulking. She was hoping they could still be friends, not that they were really friends in the first place. Accalia rested her Katana, Impli, against he arm and surveyed its surface. Nothing seemed to looked to scratched or scathed on herself or the weapon. "Drats," she muttered as she noticed a scratch above her nose in the crease between her eyebrows. She shrugged, there wasn't much she could do now, and it could be much worse and much more exciting.
She glanced down at her boot and noticed something was sticking out of it. She took the boot off to see that her hidden pocket for her knife had torn. She growled and quickly made her way to the forges. "Hello!" She called out. The room was so big and mazelike that she never knew if anyone was there. She just needed a little help fixing her boot!

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia;notes;Maybe the camper she beat comes in; words;419; Hector scowled at the fire in front of him, looking at his sax and the flame then back to the flame in front of him. "How can I get it to make a hell hound form?" he thought, checking it again. He blew into the sax, and the fire twisted into a half formed human with dog legs coming out of it's back. "Damn," hector said, putting the sax down and reaching into the flame body and turning the metal spirit off. A tiny ball, no bigger then the size of the snitch from harry potter, dropped into his hand as the flames were sucked into his skin. Hector turned, gathering all the heat he absorbed into his mouth, and then breathed it out as flames into his forge, letting the fire alight it once again. "Damn," he coughed, soot on his tongue. "I still haven't even figured that one out," he said, reaching into his mouth and pulling out a small chip on his top and bottom front teeth. he smirked, clicking them and making a spark.
They were designed to make a spark when he clicked them together when he shot heat he absorbed out. He kept the heat going forward, and it looked like he was breathing fire. It was mostly a show tactic to scar someone unless they were close, but it wasn't that scary when he ended up gagging the next few seconds after.
The blacksmith put them down, sighing and putting the ball down next to the other collection he had. Making human fire spirits were easy. Other shapes...not so much.
"Hold on!" hector called out, turning around as he heard someone calling. He wiped the sweat from his brow, and quickly grabbed a towel from his shelves and wiped the last of the soot from his face, which only made the ash cover his chin and not his lips anymore.
"What can I help you with?" He asked, coming out from a random corner, his hands on said towel as he wiped some motor oil from them, then just tossing it backwards on a random shelf. His single eye traveled over her in a minute, seeing the boat and the obvious reason, but then settled on her blade. He smirked, sensing the good workman-ship of the blade. It wasn't his work, and that made it all the better. It was good to see someone else's ideas.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain When Hector came into view Amelia let her best smirk play onto her face. This was great for several reasons. One, because she recognized him as a child of Hephaestus which just meant that she had defeated his sister only moments ago. That was ironically funny and a little sad. Also, he was very. good. looking. Amelia noticed pretty people. She liked them. Hell, she liked anyone if they gave her a good laugh. This kid looked extremely serious and handsome as she eyed the marks on his face and hands. She felt that this was going to be a good experience. Perhaps they could even be friends. There was nothing Amelia loved more than friends, especially nice ones. She put on her biggest smile at that point and stepped closer to him, "My boot. It's broken." She changed her face to a little pout and held the boot out to him, "It's supposed to hold my knife right there, but one of your siblings just busted it. Good fighter, she was." Amelia commented. And it was true, for the first five minutes of the battle. "I just need the boot fixed for the most par-" She stopped talking as she noticed him eyeing her Katana at her side. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders a little, "I'll let you hold it, if you'd like." She said.

Hector Rodriguez tags;;notes; One eye;words;; "Well, we aren't just blacksmiths all the time. You should see some of my toys for my personal use." He was smirking at that, taking the boat from her hand, ignoring her pouting face. He knew a Daughter of ares when he saw one. They were hell of a good warriors. Course, the last one that beat him was when he had been up for 36 hours straight, hadn't eaten in 14, and just finished a fight with three of his bots......Lets say he had a handicap on himself. He smirked at the memory.
He took a step back though when she started to get closer to him. He didn't looked up form the boat, running his fingers over the stitching but a clear sign that, no, He had personal space issues and didn't like people that close. He still had some fear of human contact.
"Really?" He asked, looking away from the boat in his hand to her face now. His face was frozen for a moment, then smirked, his one eye seeming to light up as he put the boat on a shelf next to him. That would be an easy fix, but he already had an idea to improve it. His mind already had an idea for a stomp action, spring loaded, or even projectile based. It would be fun to tose some ideas around
Hector held the blade in his hand, looking at the handle. Yeah, definitely not his work. "Your need a fresh wrap around the hilt. Looks like shark-skin wrapping though. that's rare but nice. I would tighten the screws though on this, keeping the blade steady." Hector looked down over the sheath, seeing that it was a good craft.
Hector pulled it out, propping up the sheath against the wall and then looking at the blade. He looked down it, seeing it even and the blade sharp. He ran his finger over it, cutting the skin easily. He stuck the cut in his mouth, feeling the cut sting. he smirked, and ran a different finger down the side, closing his one eye and feeling the metal's smooth surface, and feeling it's internal working on how it was made. "Wow. This is legit," he said, opening his eyes and looking at it. Most of the Katana's in camp were made with Greek forging style, but her's was made with a more Japanese forging style, bending the metal in on it's self, making it more sturdy. True, greek swords were tough to, but Japanese were made more for stabbing and for slashing, while the greek ones were good for dueling and deflecting a blade or even an incoming arrow, or even putting your full force behind it for a lot tougher attack. "This is cool. Not my usual style, but cool," he said, and put it back into it's sheath. He handed it back, picking up the boot. "Now, for this, I'm thinking pressure system in which a stomp, but this blade is a no go. Follow me," he said, turning and walking into the forge.
After a little bit, He came back to his area and sat down, putting the boat down and pulled the blade down. he looked at it with a small measure of anger and disgust, throwing it behind him into the scraps pile. He grabbed a spare dagger from a pile he had, taking the handle off it and un-wrapping the grip. "you said you just fought a sibling of mine?" He asked, curious. " How she fight? Any good?" he asked, just a little combetitive. Next to him, one of the metal balls turned on, fire starting to come to life but he slapped it out, not even looking as he absorbed the fire into his palm, still looking at the boat as he started to install a pressure point in it.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain She smiled. Amelia liked the way he referred to his weapons as ‘toys’. That was exactly how she felt about them. Or as an extension of her own arm. “I’d like to see them, if you’d like to show me.” She said, her smile growing wider. Hephaestus kids were cool. Tough, but kind of nerdy. She liked that. She had a lot of fun with them in the past, different fun then her gaggle of Hermes friends.
She felt bad that he had to take a step back when she got closer and made it a point not to get any closer from that point on unless beckoned. She didn’t want to ruin a friendship that was just starting. She could see the gears in his head turning. This boy was a thinker, but more than that, a doer as well. She felt she had come to the right place. Still, her skin crawled a little when he made contact with her sword. She flinched as he pulled it out, “Be careful, though!” She said loudly. Then her voice softened, “That’s my baby.”
She let her eyes drop to the floor for a moment. If she looked him in the eyes too long he would become terrified, that was her strongest power as a daughter of Ares. Kind of sucked having to look away every twenty seconds to make sure she didn’t send her friends screaming. Useful in battle though. Although... him only having one eye may make it possible for her to look at him longer than other people. She didn't think about it too hard though. It wasn't the time for that.
“Thanks.” She said when he commented on the legitimacy of her katana. She reached for it after it was put in its sheath and held it close to her. She needed to hold it for a minute. For comfort sake. “Yeah, Japanese weaponry is pretty different.” She commented. Then she was beckoned to follow him. She did so happily being led deeper into the forge and listening to his ideas about the boot.
They came upon an area that was obviously his special place, he looked very comfortable there. She sat down on a nearby stool after clearing some things off it. “Yeah, Constance.” Amelia started with the name of his sibling, “She’s a good fighter, but she’s a little too… girly.” She smiled and shrugged. She didn’t want to insult anyone in front of him. Amelia let her jaw drop as he absorbed the fire. Talk about a freaky awesome power.

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia; notes; One eye; words;773; "Maybe sometimes in a battle of our own, but I think I can show you some of my newer projects and probably a personal favorite," Hector said, putting the boat down for a second. Which one could he show her. He looked down at his desk, and then picked up the teeth ones. He opened his mouth, slipping them onto his top and bottom front teeth, clicking them and feeling the spark. "Watch this," he said, smirking as walked over to the forge, a hand above it.
Around them, the fire seemed to dim for a moment, but then start back up again. Hector started to steam, and he took a step back. The heat was almost visible as it traveled through his body to his throat and mouth. Hector took a deep breath and clicked the implants, breathing all the heat out in a raging fire breath. The flames rushed out like a dragon's breath, only to rejoin the fire in the forge. It was rather showy though.
"They are uncomfortable, but they do get the job done," he said, reaching into his mouth and pulling them out, putting them down on the desk. Course, if she was as good as a child of Athena at battle strategy, then she would have noticed how it was done. He wasn't gonna tell her though. "It's a new project, but it works rather nicely." he smirked, sitting down again, and then spit black saliva into the flames. "Blech. Still can't get ride of the soot though." He wiped his mouth again, making it look like he had a beard.
After he managed to wipe most of it off his face, he smirked as he heard which of his siblings she fought. "Ahh, Constance. Not that I don't hold her in high esteem as a black smith, her ability as a frontal fighter isn't there. Well, compared to your cabin or that one Athenian kid." Hector smirked, remembering that fight. He had pulled out ever stop he had, and still that Asain kid had beat him. He didn't know it was possible to move that fast. Not the point.
"Still, if you think you can beat all of my cabin, that's another thing coming," he said, turning and grabbing the dagger. The room got colder for a moment as hector dragged in heat from around him, but the fire made it barely noticable as he put all the heat into his left hand holding the dagger. He pressed a button on a small bracelet on his hand, and it expanded to look like a small brace on his arm. He stuck it out, and waited. After a second, the dagger was glowing white hot.
Hector smirked, and a moment later, a big Thor sized hammer slammed into his hand, and he dropped the glowing dagger on the table and slammed the hammer down on it. He lifted, grabbing a set of tonges and positioned it right, striking again. Hector stuck again and again, flattening the metal as flames spilled from his hammer. After two more strikes, the black smith picked it up, looking at it and nodded, approving of how he thinned it. He slowly drew the extra heat from it as he set his hammer down. He patted it fondly for a moment, then set the dagger down on the metal table. He saw the new dent in it and shrugged. He would bang it out later.
He grabbed the boot then, and ripped it open with out a care. He smirked, saying," Cute," At the design. He took the spring out, and then his face frowned. "rusty," he commented, and threw it over his shoulder. He was in his own little world now.
Hector kicked back, his chair rolling as he turned, hitting his spar junk drawer. he knew where mostly every thing was. To anyone else, even most of his cabin mates, it was a hot mess. Organization wasn't his strong point. He started to pull out parts, seemingly at random but it was everything he needed. he rolled back after a second, his hands already at it.
Hector picked up the boot, starting to sew it back up again. He stopped for a moment though, picking up his hammer and started to spin it, Thor style, and then let it fly, flying into a familiar shaped dent in the wall and staying there. "That's one of my favorite toys," he said, smirking and sewing the boot back up again. He had the mechanical parts done, but he still needed to test it.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain “I’d like that. A battle.” She commented quietly, she had found a nearby pencil and had begun chewing on it. She didn’t really notice what was happening though, she must have been nervous, or excited, or something. She leaned back slightly as she watched his performance with the teeth. A man who could breathe fire. It took most of her energy not to pounce on him right there. She had gone through her slore stage already, macking with any guy she thought was worth her notice. But she had moved past that. Sometimes that girl still fidgeted with her brain though. Especially while amongst hot guys, literally, with soot on their face and rough hands.
She crossed her legs and leaned forward once the show was over. She suddenly realized the pencil in her hand and tossed it aside. This wasn’t the time for flirting. “Well, that was really impressive! So far, I think it’ll work fairly well.” She managed to say without too much sultriness in her voice. He managed to look away for a second and she took the moment to lightly tap herself on the cheek. Wake up call. This isn’t a date. This is a nice guy helping you fix your boot and for that you are very grateful. Think about what’s really important here, She promised herself. As long as he didn’t do too many fancy fire tricks, she’d be fine.
She nodded, “I’ve seen some of her work in the forge, and she’s really talented with all those intricate designs.” She was glad that he turned her comment into a compliment while still validating the fact that Amy had just beat the crap of his sister. That was nice of him, not to pick sides but not to be a suck up either. Amelia frowned, she had heard of this Athena kid but they hadn’t fought yet. She made it a point not to mention that.
“Oh, trust me; I would never try to fight all of you,” she then vowed that she would fight every single Hephaestus kid willing to go at it with her, “at least not all at once.” She smiled and laughed a little. She dearly loved to laugh. As he made the dagger glow white hot she had to look away. Those fire powers were impressive. Too impressive. They made her angry and happy at the same time. One the one hand she was jealous, on the other it was really cool!
“Ah!” She gave a little yelp as he slammed the hammer down onto the table. This caused her to fall backwards off of her stool and into a pile of gadgets and things. She shoved a few things off of her and stood up angrily. He was still hard at work with that hammer. By the time he took notice of her again, if he ever did, she would be back on the stool, pretending nothing had happened. She watched as he tore her boot apart, made a few comments and went to work on the boot. She wasn’t sure if she should get up and come back later or not. That thought didn’t bother her for long though, soon she was entranced by watching him work.
Amelia nodded as the hammer went flying and watched it go. “Looks fun,” she said.

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia; notes; One eye; words;667; Hector tilted his head at her, seeing that her hair was ruffled. He didn't comment on it though, just shrugging it off as the heat tossing it around. Course, didn't change the fact that it..well, made her look good. hector stopped, almost freezing and considered that for a moment, then shrugged. He would think on it later.
Hector ran a red hot finger along the sides of the boot, fusing the plastics of the boot together except for where the dagger would pop out at the front. "it's a good kick dagger now. I added an extra layer so you might have 2 centemeters more height now in theses, but the knife won't make walking a discomfort anymore, if it ever was. But that padding will also make it that you can bend your foot a little more." hector smirked, and stuck his hand it, not worried that she had athletes foot or anything. "Anyone that looks that good can't have it." hector paused again, wondering where those thoughts came from. He pushed them away again, not caring as his latest toy came to mind again.
Hector mimicked a stomp, the knife coming out about 6 inches from the front of the shoe. He banged the blade against a shelf for a moment, testing it and found it sound. He stomped it again, releasing the pressure point and pushed the blade back in as if he was kicking something. It slid back in smoothly.
"Nice. I put it that your gonna have to give it some force when you kick, so it won't pop out un-wanted. It's gonna lock in place the first stomp, and after the second, the lock comes undone and you can push it back in." he smirked, and handed it to her. "Okay, hand me the other one. let- Hold on," he said, looking up as a metal hawk flew in and landed on his desk.
Hector turned, looking at it as it's beck opened, and a badly placed female voice came out. "Report. Monster activity in woods is diminished. Nature spirits also unusually unnerved." Hector flicked the top of it's head, and it shrunk down, holding in on it's self to form a small hawk charm. Hector smirked, picking it up. It still weighed the same, but to him, he was used to carrying around 100-200 pounds of metal into a battle, so this was nothing. He put it on the necklace on his neck, next to three others and his camp beads. He pulled another one off, this one a fox and he activated it.
The metal fox yipped at him, a perfect imatation of a real fox. "go through the mines to bunker 9. Grab prototype model 7-Gh, mark III." The Fox nodded and took off.
"Sorry. Chiron asked me to do something, and I'm having my pets keep up on it for me," He said, looking back at her, this time his checks were lightly touched with red, and not from the fire. He smirked though, his hand out and he asked," Can I see the other boat. I think this time, we should add a little Hephaestus magic to it. I'm thinking an Ice blade." He smirked, grabbing a water bottle next to him. The water inside slowly started to turn to ice inside as he drew all the heat from it. Hector's powers weren't over flame per say. It was over the energy of heat itself, so it was a simple matter for him to draw the heat out of something to make it freeze. But he couldn't make ice unless water was there. He wasn't a child of Khione after all. It was also why he drew in heat before he made fire. It was easier, since making that first spark on his own was harder. He released some heat back into the water though, offering it to her. "Chilled drink?" he offered, his one eyed smile saying he would never run out of surprises.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain She leaned forward as he began to explain the mechanism of the thing he had created. She nodded excitedly, “Yeah, yeah... I think that’ll work really well!” She said happily as he explained. He stuck his foot in her boot and she tilted her head to the side. That was kind of a weird thing to do with someone’s boot that you had just met. He must be a pretty trusting guy to have done that. Amelia was glad he didn’t think she was that gross.
As he demonstrated and tested out his mechanism it seemed to work pretty well. Amelia used to have to reach down and grab the knife herself; this would make things a whole lot easier. But now, when she eventually battled him, it would make things a whole lot harder. Because he now knew about her secret weapon in her boot. Oh well, it’d be worth it anyway.
“Eh,” she shrugged, “force will not be a problem. Trust me.” She nodded matter-of-factly as she made this statement. She nodded once again as he explained how the pressure point worked and how she would have to use her stomps to get it out. Made sense. She was all ready to hand him her other boot when that metal hawk thing landed on his desk. She leaned back out of shock and eyed the thing. When she was pretty sure it wouldn’t eat her, she leaned a little closer. As she watched his exchange with the necklace robots she couldn’t help but smile. Amelia liked animals and there was nothing better than a guy talking to animals, even if they weren’t real.
“Oh, not a problem!” She said quickly as he began to apologize, “I think they’re cute!” She finished. Then she mentally face-palmed herself. daughters of Ares usually didn’t say cute. Aw, to hell with it. The animals were cute. She noticed a slight red tint in his cheeks, probably signifying that he was embarrassed about his necklace friends. This made her laugh a little out loud but she quickly stopped when he asked for the other boot.
All thoughts of his adorable red cheeks disappeared when he said ‘ice blade.’ She ripped off her boot and tossed it over to him, jumping off the stool to get a closer look, but making sure not to get too close. She didn’t want to get in this dudes personal space. Not yet, anyway. She watched closely as he transformed the water and chuckled as he turned to her. She was a little closer than she had meant to be and backed away quickly. “I’d love some!” She said quickly reaching her hand out to take the water bottle. Their fingers touched for a quick moment, but she barely noticed.

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia; notes;Might have went overboard; words;850; All the hair on Hector's arm rose as their finger's cross, and a second after, his hand lit itself on fire, his eye slightly wild as he stomped those impulses down. He clenched his right hand into a fist, turning it into a fireball as he willed himself not to summon his hammer. After a moment though, the fire died and he felt safe, un-clenching his hand.
"S-...Sorry about that," He said, having to try two times. It was an unconscious reaction from his child hood, and no, he wasn't gong back there. He ruthlessly killed those memories before they could rise in his memory, his left eye twinging with pain before his body was back under his control.
"so, ice blade. Ice blade," he said, trying to pretend that didn't just happened again. "And yeah, they can be cute. I still haven't gotten the fake fur to take though. Every time they shrink the fur doesn't take and it becomes a mess on the floor and it messes up the machine when it comes back to real size." Hector got up for this one, walking around the table to where the big storage area was, pulling up three drawers. He pulled a blue gem out that looked like ice almost, a thin dagger, and some wool. He came back, putting the three items down and going back to his personal shelves, pulling some of the same parts out, only getting some fine sand as well.
Hector sat down, saying as he tour the boat open," Ice blades are difficult, more so then flame ones really. They also aren't as good as giving damage to an enemy in big uses. They are better for damage over time, like if you are poisoning your enemy." Hector held the sand in his hand around the gem. "it's harder to make as well, and the crystal that you use is harder to craft. Gems actually do have a limited capability of storing energies and magic. If you enbue them though with a spark of it, they can regenerate that magic over time if you don't deplete it all the way. But it leaks it's energy." Hector's hands were starting to go blue holding the gem, not really noticing it. He cupped the sand around it though, and stuck his foot into the fire. He didn't feel it other then the heat traveling up his leg and building into his arms. Once his arms were almost glowing with it, he sent them into his hands and into the glass, willing it not to touch the crystal. The glass heated and formed into glass around it, except for a small part at the top. Hector took his leg out, sagging for a moment and then smirked. "Okay, hard part over." He turned back to his work table, and started a white hot blow torch at the tip of his finger, welding the gem to the hilt of the dagger.
it took less then 3 minutes, but at the end of it, the Dagger was forming ice at the end of it. Hector put it down, the ice forming and melting and then freezing again in a cycle. He put the wool into the boot, making a filter. The wool would act like a buffer to she wouldn't freeze her foot, as well as padding for her foot. Hector smirked, setting to put it all together now.
"So, I think that's the first time I've ever heard an Ares girl call something cute," he said, smirking as his hands worked, petting the dagger in place and heating the wool to a firm setting. The ice dagger was already trying to freeze it, but the wool didn't freeze. It kept it nice and warm. His started to sow it up, his hands working instinctively here. It wasn't as good as an Athenian kid, but it would hold for a good long while. He Fused the plastics, and then slapped the boot down, the ice blade coming out and chilling the air around him.
"It's good for hurting your opponent and making them think you haven't. When it cuts, it freezes the nerves away in that area so they don't feel it till it warms up again. Well, against a normal opponent. It wouldn't work against me that much." he clicked that one off. "They would fight, and that cut would then bleed more, the warm blood making them feel it and then that pain coming in. It's enough to scare an opponent off if they don't know the trick, or realize it's an ice blade." he smirked, slamming the boat back down again and using the desk to slide it back in. "Don't touch it with your skin though, unless you like frost bite. I can barely do it." Hector shook his hands, handing her the boot and rolling over to the fire. His hands were still a little blue. "What you think?" He asked, this time fishing for a small complement on his craft.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain Amelia yelped once again and pulled her hand back quickly as his had burst into flames. Her eyes got really wide. Was he trying to hurt her? Impress her again? Surprise her for fun? She wasn’t sure but it still mildly freaked her out. She kept her eyes wide on him as he had a mini-moment breakdown and was able to bring the fire to a stop. He stuttered after that, which she felt bad about. She was used to making people stutter, but that was usually on the battlefield. “No, I’m sorry,” she said sadly, “It was probably my fault. If I look people in the eye for too long they freak out.” Her frown grew even bigger as she said this. She wished it wouldn’t interrupt her daily life.
He quickly moved onto the ice blade with all his focus. She was glad that he took notice of her compliment to his little animals however. She liked them without fur however. She would have told him that but before she could speak he stood up and started rummaging through things. She once again watched him get involved in his work, but this time he was explaining it as he went. She wondered if that was a regular every day habit or if he was doing it for her benefit. Either way she was very grateful, she didn’t think she could handle silence right now. Not after that moment.
She was, however, concerned about the blue hands. It looked painful and cold. She didn’t want him to be in any pain just to give her a really awesome weapon. No matter how much she was looking forward to that weapon. It looked really great once he was finished though and it didn’t seem to have bothered him too much.
She blushed at the mention of her use of the word ‘cute’. He smirked at her too. Was he making fun of her? Either way she knew, or hoped, that he was just playing and she chuckled at his comment. “Yeah, that happened...” she said awkwardly but with a big smile on her face. “I just like animals. Is that so hard to believe Mr. Fire ice man?” She asked with a sing-songy voice. Almost a mockery, but not to be mean.
“I think that...that sounds... like an amazing new toy!” She practically squeeled with delight as she listened to him explain what the dagger would do, “and don’t worry. I would never use it on you.” She said sweetly. Mostly because you made it for me and it wouldn’t be a surprise... she thought. She crossed over to him, careful to keep her distance. “Are you okay, though? Your hands...” she said slowly. There was no way she’d touch him though. Not after what just happened. Whether it was her intimidating glance or not, she didn’t want to catch fire.

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia; notes;HE CAN LEARN; words;470; "Not so much really," He said, sitting in front of the growling fire. He wasn't absorbing the heat with his power though, just soaking it up like a normal person would. He already burned through a lot of it, and now was feeling the urge for a nice big meal. Using his powers over something like this would just be stupid.
His hands slowly returning to normal, his smirk on his face as her saying she wouldn't use it on him. Well, duh. He could easily destroy his own toys. He knew their weak spots. Like with the boots. The springs had a lower melting point them the rest of it. Blast it with one really powerful fire blast, enough to heat it but not to burn her, and the spring was history. Or even just burn away the seal and thread on it and it would come apart, but that was obvious.
Hector nodded at her question, confused. This wasn't anything. He had worse on the streets in winter when it snows, back before he came to camp. His confusion was plain on his face. Usually people got their weapon, thanked him and left. They stuck around sometimes to chat, but they usually didn't ask if he was okay (okay, most of the ice he didn't mess with ice crystals), but that was a new one. It made him feel a mixture of unease and confusion, with happiness in varying degrees. Guess which had more. It was also the first time in years someone had even asked him that.
Hector brushed it off though, saying," yeah. Don't worry about it. I've had worse." Coming from a guy that had only one eye, that was an understatement.
At her movement to him though, Hector pushed over his chair a little, making room by the fire. There was a big gap, enough to make him feel comfortable but including her in the space. "Your probably gonna feel some chills with that on will your used to it," he said, indicating her left boot. It eased the tension a little, but it also brought up a 'what now' question to hector's mind. Been a while since he talked to a girl that he wasn't related to. He processed that thought and then openly laughed at the stupidity of it. He could burn down buildings but felt a little nervous talking to a girl. The universe had a sense of humor.
"Sorry. I'm laughing at a thought I had," he said, his hands back to normal as he clutched his side, chuckling. Once it passed, he said," So, seeing as our cabins are now 1 to 1, How about we test that blade later huh? After lunch though. I'm spent after making that."

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain She breathed a sigh of relief as his hands started to return to normal. She didn’t want anyone hurting because of her, unless it was in a battle of course. As he made room for her to sit in front of the fire she planted down on the ground with her legs crossed and her hands in her lap. She shrugged and looked up at him, “I’m sure you’ve had worse. Considering...” she awkwardly pointed at her eye to signify his lack of one. She chuckled a little at herself, “That was stupid, I’m sorry.”
She listened as he explained that she might feel some chills. She wondered if they felt anything like the chills she was feeling now. She laughed at the thought. Of course they were different chills. She noticed that he was also laughing out loud and looked over at him, “What was the thought?” she asked him. She loved jokes, no matter what they were, if it was a funny thought she had to hear it. “And yeah, we should definitely do that. After lunch. It was then she realized how hungry she was. She had marched over here after the battle and hadn’t even stopped to eat. She didn’t even know how long she had been back here. Time seemed to disappear in the dark, firey glow of the forge.
“Still doesn’t get you out of telling me that funny thought you had, though!” She said with a smile. She leaned back on her hands and looked up at him. He being on a chair made him a little higher up than she was on the ground. But she didn’t mind, this was a nice scenario. Just sitting. Talking. She didn’t do a lot of sitting and talking. Mostly just running around playing pranks and picking fights and laughing about stupid things. She stared at him expectantly, waiting for the thought. If she had to bring out the pout, she would.

Hector Rodriguez tags;Amelia; notes; And then he proves us wrong; words;304; "Oh please, don't worry about it. I was setting myself up for it anyways," He said, chuckling as he brought his left hand up to it, rubbing the patch. It had been with him ever since he lost his eye back in Mexico. He had mostly lost the accent since coming to camp, but it was slight ever now and then. "And I've been called worse then that, so don't think I'm that delicate.
At telling her that thought, he smirked, knowing he wasn't gonna give that one up with out a fight. Though, there was a good idea there. "I'll make you a deal for it," he said, and dipped his hands into the fire, cupping some in his hands and pulled it out. The fire feed off his power instead of burning something, keeping it lit and not burning his hands. "If you win later, I'll tell you. If I win...huh," he said, confused about that one for a moment. He didn't know what he would want. So, he went with something equal. "You tell me something about yourself." That worked. He clapped his hands together, and the fire went out, the heat comfortably entering his system. "but first, food," he said, his stomach rumbling. he sat up, stretching, his hands above his head for a moment. His muscles were all bunched up.
"That reminds me," he said, stopping mid stretch and turning around, sticking his hand above the fire and taking it all into his hand, putting it out. It wasn't wise to leave the fire going when not there. "okay. Want to share lunch before our match?" he asked, going for a friendly lunch, not even realizing in the slightest what it sounded like.

Amy Williams i set fire to the rain She sighed with relief as he chuckled about the eye patch comment. He seemed to be confident enough in himself that it didn’t bother him. This made Amelia feel kind of bad. She had never been through anything that horrific in her life. She just lived with her mom in Brooklyn and made a few trips to England. Nothing really drastic or eventful had ever happened to her. He must have been so young when all that happened. “The last thing I would call you is delicate.” A few more masculine words like hunky, sexy and handsome crossed her mind but she quickly dismissed them.
“Deal!” She said and she began to reach her hand out for a shake but thought better of it and pretended she was just reaching up to fiddle with her hair instead. Turns out it had been all ruffled up, probably from her fall. She didn’t care though; she just left it alone and stood as he began to stand. For a short moment she got distracted by watching him stretch. He had muscles, that was for sure. Obviously very strong... watching him stretch made her realize how cramped up she felt. She reached her arms above her head for a few moments and let out a sigh of relief.
He put the fire out so quickly that the darkness in the room made her jump a little. She raised an eyebrow at him as he offered to head to lunch together. “I think that’s a great idea but...” she smiled widely as the realization came to her mind, “I don’t even know your name, Sir.” She said trying not to burst at the seams with laughter. They had just spent who knows how long together and they didn’t even bother to get each other’s names. It was funny, and a little sad.
“I’m Amy.” She said after she had stopped biting her lip to conceal the laughter.
