[Audrey Appleby]

Audrey was frustrated. She was glad she was away from her Lady in the first time in years. She wanted to strangle Artemis several times when the goddess decided not to intervene several times that meant innocent people died. But now Audrey found a group sharing the same frustrations she had, but she found new frustration: they weren't going anywhere fast. She knew that to get any action done, she had to take over the group herself, but she couldn't get anywhere close to the leader.

So Audrey was in the arena as she threw knives at the target several feet in front of her. She had her silver jacket off and she decided to wear a tank top on this day, which nicely showed off her muscles as she threw her knives. Her eyes were narrow as she focused on the target in front of her. Her mind for once wasn't on the stupid group focusing on taking the gods out of the picture. For right now, she was just focusing on going through her basket of knives and throwing them at the little red circle.

Adena. Stupid Adena. That girl knew how to push her buttons, that was sure. Hence why she was stomping through the arena, sword on her hip, bow in her hand. She needed to let off some steam. Everything was happening so quickly. Gideon going crazy, asking her to leave. Her leaving Gideon instead. The break down to her sister. The news that Hailey was running away, pretty much making the same mistakes that she had. She stabbed her sword into the ground with a frustrated sigh, pulling the bow off of her back, as well as the quiver. She loved this thing. It was the one thing that Artemis hadn't taken away from her during World War Goddess.

She pulled out an arrow, nocking it before she went to aim. Of course, being the ADD child she was (well, all of them were, really), she noticed something from the corner of her eye. A girl. A familiar girl, only two targets down. Audrey. Her cheeks flushed for a moment as she watched the girl before she shook her head, trying to regain her focus. It never happened.

She found herself glancing over at the girl seconds before she let her arrow fly. Instead of hearing the thud of the target, she heard an ear-shattering scream. She snapped her head towards her target, seeing that she'd missed, her arrow going to the right, embedding itself into a tall boys leg. She winced as she watched the boy hobble away, glaring at her the whole time. She could feel the eyes on her, and she gave a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of her neck with her hand. "Um...Oops?"

Audrey was so into her knife throwing that she didn't notice that more people joined in the archery range. The hunter wasn't into her bow and arrow like her fellow hunters or the Apollo kids. Audrey liked her knives, she did since she was a kid in the orphanage. She was in the zone and nothing could distract her except for a blood curdling scream.

This of course happened when Audrey was throwing another knife. She snapped her head up just as the knife left her hand. It completely missed the target and sunk into the stone wall behind it. She swore underneath her breath as she glanced around the arena before she caught what happened. There was a boy stumbling off with an arrow in the leg with an embarrassed Pri with a lot of attention.

Audrey rolled her eyes as she went to help her fellow ex-hunter. "Alright guys," she hissed out as she tried to wave away the attention as she walked over to Pri. "Show's over, go back to doing what you idiots were doing." She rolled her eyes before she stopped in front of Pri and smirked a bit. "You okay?" she asked in a softer tone.

Princess had always been confident. Never cared what people thought of her, but as of late that had been changing. She felt people staring all the time, heard them say rotten things about her. And it was all because of Adena. Stupid Adena. When she heard the voice to her side, her head snapped up. "I...Um...Yeah." She stuttered out the words, trying not to focus on the girls face. Sure, she'd seen Audrey plenty of times. but she'd never really seen Audrey, until now, that is.

She could feel her cheeks heat up as she tore her eyes away from the girl, fumbling with her bow a little bit. "I guess I uh...Missed?" She gave a breathy laugh with her statement, rubbing that back of her neck a little bit. What in Hades was wrong with her? She saw movement from the corner of her eyes, and she whipped her head to the side, narrowing her eyes when she didn't see anything, but was left with an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach. She brushed it off, though, still feeling some people staring at her. "I'm never gonna live that down." She laughed out slightly before she stared down at her feet, feeling really small all of a sudden with Audrey in front of her.

It had been a while since Audrey seen Pri. The last time the hunter was at camp was during the Primordials attacked. That was the last and only time Pri was a hunter and quickly after that attack Audrey was brisked away to back to her Lady to help with protect the camp from the outside.

It didn't take an Athena kid to realize that Pri was still quite flustered from the event and that people were still staring. Audrey lifted her shirt a bit to show the knife holstered to her hips. If the idiots around her were smart enough, they would know that Audrey had even more hidden and they started diverting their attention and some of them actually leaving.

"They'll forget it once something else comes along to capture their stupid minds." Audrey licked her lips as her mind was immediately made up. She wrapped an arm around Pri's shoulders as she nodded her head towards the exit. "Let's get out of here. Idiots are going to be staring if you stay here."

Pri was still a bit shaken up, but she didn't know if it was just from the accident. She'd never felt a rush of attraction for someone so hard before. But when she looked at Audrey, that was all she felt. Her cheeks were darker when Audrey's arm went around her. She gave a tight nod and picked up her quiver and bow, carrying them both in her hand since she couldn't really put them on her back with Audrey's arm there. "Sounds like a good idea." She started walking to the entrance, though as she walked she still felt the eyes, and that strange feeling again.

She glanced at her surroundings, trying to figure out what exactly it was. She knew that Gideon couldn't be too happy with her after the break up. Maybe he'd sent people to watch her. That wouldn't be good. "We need to go somewhere secluded. I feel like I'm being watched." She barely whispered the words, but she knew Audrey would hear them. She knew they had to get out of there, but she didn't really know exactly where they could go.

Audrey glared at all the idiots around them as she tried to take Pri out of the arena as swiftly as possible. She held the girl close as she neglected to notice the bright red on her cheeks. Audrey stopped a couple of yards away from the arena when Pri said she felt like she was being watched. Audrey then quickly scanned the area, trying to see any immediate threats. "All I see is those idiots back in the arena," she muttered before she directed Pri to the cabins.

"I'll take you back to my cabin. Nobody else should be there and the idiots should be smart enough to mind their own business." She started to lead Pri until she glanced down and noticed the blush. "Is... everything alright?" Audrey was starting to wonder if the girl was more shaken up then she let on.

Pri let out a shaky breath when Audrey say she didn't see anyone. It calmed her down a little bit, even though she could still feel the eyes on her. She kept close to Audrey as she was lead to the Cabin she'd lived in for a short time, keeping her eyes on the ground the entire time. She could no longer hear the whispers, but she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. She didn't say anything else about it, though, since she didn't want to give anything away about Gideon. It was bad enough she'd told her sister, that was when she'd started to feel the eyes.

When Audrey spoke again, Princess nearly jumped out of her skin. "Y-yeah. Perfectly fine." No. I'm not fine. You're touching me and I find you highly attractive. She kept the words in her head, since that was one conversation she never wanted to have. Ever. With anyone. Let alone the person that had just saved her from utter humiliation. "J-Just still have that weird feeling, I guess." She covered her tracks, trying to force herself to calm down.

Audrey raised her eyebrows at Pri when she seemed to be a bit jumpy. She pressed her lips together as she scanned the area again. "Nothing's there," she murmured underneath her breath as she looked back down at the girl. "We need to get you inside." Audrey was a little bit more forceful this time as she tightened her arm around Pri and marched her directly into the cabin.

She closed the door behind them before ushering the Hephaestus girl to her bed. "Why are you having those weird feelings?" she asked once she knew the area was safe or, at least, safer than the arena to talk. Her eyes narrowed once she realized what was happening. "Do you think that Gideon is having you watched?" She felt her blood boil a bit. No way was one of her former hunters going to be tracked under her watch.

Pri gave an involuntary shriek when she was practically dragged into her old cabin. She shivered at the memory of the last time she'd been in there, just over a week now, convincing herself and her sister that she wasn't crazy. She sat down on the bed, though, and ran a hand through her hair. She looked up for only a moment, smiling at Hailey's bed. She really did love that girl with everything. Of course, she cringed when she saw her reflection in the mirror above the bed. She looked worn out, older, sad. Her cheeks were beginning to look hollowed out, there were dark bags under her eyes. Her cheeks were covered with soot and her hair was a mess. How did she even let herself get this way?

She was a bit surprised, though, when Audrey guessed it right away. She gave a simple nod, staring at her hands, which were covered in burn marks from her non-stop work at the forge. "I think so...I started getting the feelings right after I told Hailey about Gideon and his crazy plans." She let out another sigh before running her hands over her face. "I can't eat, can't sleep. Sometimes I can barely even think. I just stand at the forge all day, thinking that if I don't move, nothing can get me." She sounded pathetic, she knew she did, but she really didn't know what to do. She couldn't just hide out here with her sister, the statue of the Goddess in the back creeped her out. As if Artemis was ready to smite her in a second for being in the place she left.

Audrey crossed her arms as she glared out one of the windows. This was going far too wrong in Audrey's opinion. She supported what the Usurpers believed in, but she wasn't going to let them terrorize someone innocent like Princess. She sighed loudly before she looked over at the girl on her bed. "When was the last time you spoke to him? Did he mention ANYTHING about having you tailed?"

Audrey's mind was racing with possibilities as she glanced at the door. It was a quick second decision before she walked over to it to lock it along with all the windows, despite it was a warm day and they were cracked to let the breeze in. Once she was sure that her cabin was secure, she walked over to Pri and put both hands on her shoulders to look her in the eyes. "He's not going to get to you. I'll make sure nobody can." She took a deep breath as she noticed how worn Pri was looking. Audrey pulled her hands away from her as she nodded towards the nearest bed. "You should probably sleep. I'll stay up to be on guard if it makes you feel any better."

Princess gave a simple sigh and shook her head at the question, running her hands over her face again. "No. I kind of just set Hunter to him with a note saying I wasn't going with him and to leave me alone. I haven't seen him in person in nearly a month." She was so frustrated she could have ripped her hair out. She knew she needed to keep her cool, but she felt like she was going to break down at any minute.

She looked a bit confused when Audrey started locking anything that could be locked, but a soft smile formed at the words that were spoken. "Thank you, Audrey...You really don't have to do this. I know that...Well...I know some of you guys are still mad at me for leaving." She whispered the words, barely hearing them herself before she stood up. "I..I'm going to have a quick shower first, I don't want to get anyone's bed dirty." Without another word she shot over to her sister's things, grabbing a t-shirt and shorts along with a towel before she raced into the bathroom.

She showered in record time, only taking about seven minutes, before coming out, still shaking the towel over her hair. She knew she'd lost weight, but she hadn't thought it was that much. Hailey's shirt went down to her knees, and it practically swallowed her, plus she'd had to roll the shorts a few times just to make them fit. She draped the towel over the trunk by her sisters bed before she cast a glance to Audrey's bed. She had no time to second guess herself before she chose Audrey's bed over Hailey's, instantly curling up into a ball under the covers. She said nothing as she let her eyes close, knowing that Audrey was going to keep her safe.

She hadn't been asleep for even fifteen minutes when the dream started. She'd been running, and he found her, and he wasn't happy. She writhed in her sleep, whimpering every time dream Gideon hit her, or called her a horrid name for hitting her. She curled into herself, wanting it all to stop but not being able to force herself awake.

She only sent a note? That left A LOT of room for interpretation which meant he could be possibly tailing her. Audrey didn't like how Princess was a possible target to the Usurpers, despite how little she was involved with their doings. Audrey smiled a bit sheepishly when Pri thanked her. "It's nothing," she said with a bit of a shrug. "In my books, once a hunter, always a hunter unless you got turned into a jackalope. So yeah..." Audrey didn't know how to finish off her sentence as she let it die off.

Her eyes wandered as she admired Pri going through Hailey's things before going off to the showers. For a split second, Audrey thought about joining her, but immediately went against it. The poor girl didn't need a bodyguard every waking moment. But Pri was out of the shower soon enough and Audrey decided to read a book about tactical warfare as the girl decided to curl up in her bed. Audrey smiled a bit as she continued her reading.

Audrey was expecting peace and quiet for a little while, but Pri was barely asleep when Audrey heard the whimpering. Her head shot up as she saw Pri writhe and whimper in her sleep. Audrey almost threw her book to the side as she rushed to the girl's side. "Pri," she hissed as she reached down to shake the girl awake. "Princess. Wake up! It's a bad dream. Wake up!"

She knew it was a dream. She could tell it was a dream. Audrey had said she'd protect her, she wouldn't just let Pri run off on her own. She tried so hard to wake herself up, but that only made the slaps come harder, the kicks come more swiftly, the words more full of venom. Her whimpers were turning into small cries by the time she heard Audrey's voice in her head.

She shot straight up, eyes wide as a sob escaped her throat. She threw a hand over her mouth, trying to cover up the noises and her tears, but she just couldn't do it. The sobs raked through her as she buried her head in her hands, trying her best to hide from Audrey. She hadn't wanted the girl to see her like this. So completely and utterly broken. She even hated her sister seeing her like this, and they were blood.

"I'm sorry." She sobbed the words into her hands, trying her best to calm down. What was Audrey going to think of her now? She'd probably regret offering to protect her and send her right back to her own cabin.

Audrey kept shaking Pri until she finally shot up. Her eyes were fully of worry as she watched the Hephaestus girl. "Pri, what's..." Audrey could barely finish her question before the girl in front of her broke down into sobs. She was taken aback at first, wondering how badly Gideon hurt her in the first place.

It only took a couple of moments before Pri wrapped her arms around the girl and held her close. Silently, she made a vow to kill Gideon the next time she saw him, or at least badly maim him. "Don't apologize," Audrey muttered to her as she slowly started to rock a bit. "You have no reason to, it's not your fault. It's his fault." And I'm going to kill for it. she mentally added. "You're going to be okay... I'll make sure he never gets to you... no reason to be sorry."
