WE'RE RELATED??? (Jareth)

It had been a long quest, quite longer than Daphne was anticipating, but she was finally home. She didn't say much to Marius as she headed back to her cabin. A nice long nap in her bed was much in order, considering how long she'd been jumping hotel beds. She walked into her cabin without much of an introduction, especially since she didn't recognize most of the faces in the room. Chiron said she got new siblings, but how many were there of them?

She really didn't care. She opened the door to her cabin leader room as she tossed her bag onto the ground. It was only a couple more steps for her before she flopped onto her bed and took a deep breath. Home, sweet home. Nothing could ruin this moment.

Jareth was in the middle of a deep discussion with one of his siblings. Well, he was showing off his Thor comic book collection. It was working out pretty well until the door opened. Someone called out saying "Daphne". He knew that was his cabin leaders name, but he didn't think twice about what she would look like, sound like, act like. He just brushed it aside as something he would know about when he found out about it. It wasn't a big deal, right? He barely even noticed her presence, but everyone else turned to look. He wasn't going to bother until he got a whiff, that smell. Sweet, spicy... he stood, dropping a few comics as he did so. "D-Daphne. You're Daphne?" He said softly. He finally realized that he should speak up, "DAPH!?" He called.

Daphne popped her head back up from the bedding when she heard someone call out her name. However, she heard that voice before and that sent her heart pounding. She hadn't hear that voice since before she found out she was a demigod. Maybe she was hearing things because she was exhausted. She managed to peel herself off of the bed before walking to the door.

She stopped dead in her tracks in the doorway as her eyes widened. This was seriously a blast from her past, her crushing past. "Jareth?" she asked, not sure if she was starting to hallucinate now. "What are you doing here? At camp? In my cabin?"

Jareth couldn't stop shaking his head. He was freaking out. He had never had a girlfriend and he had only liked one girl. She was standing right in front him. In HIS cabin. With HIS siblings. With his... siblings... he started hyperventilating and grabbed onto a chair beside him. "This is my cabin, Daphne. Zeus is my dad. I've always known, but I only came here three weeks ago." He was talking very slowly. There was no way she was right in front of him. There was no way that she was in his cabin. There was no way, NO WAY in tarturus that she was his sister. That was impossible.

"Daphne, is Zeus your father?"

"Zeus is my dad." That thought kept echoing through Daphne's mind as she leaned up against the door frame. With this recent turn of events, she wasn't even sure if her legs could keep her standing for much longer. She closed her eyes as she reached up to rub her temples. Of course. Of course she crushed on a boy that would turn out to be her brother. It was just her luck and she felt sick to her stomach.

She took a deep breath as she slowly opened her eyes to look at Jareth. She felt her breath catch in her chest, but she had to remind herself that he was off limits now. He was her brother and she had a boyfriend. Cruel, cruel world. "Jarth... Zeus is my father and I'm the cabin leader... we're related..."

Jareth didn't notice the other campers slowly sneaking into their rooms. They must have been able to sense the tension. Jareth also didn't notice that a few stuck around in awe, staring at the two of them. As she rubbed her temples he took the opportunity to turn around and run his fingers through his hair. He was about ready to pull his hair out, he clenched his fist in his hair before turning around to see her take a deep breath and open her eyes. He wasn't ready to see those eyes again. Why didn't he notice it before? He had known since day one that he was Zeus's son. Why couldn't he recognize his own sister? Maybe that's why he was attracted to her in the first place. They were young, kids, but he couldn't resist hanging around her. Maybe that's why. Some sibling electricity.

"Yes. And I was appointed cabin counselor while you were gone. So I guess we're going to have to spend a lot of time together." He sighed. So much for avoiding those eyes.

There was a lot of things that Daphne wished she could be doing right now instead of finding out that one of her crushes from her hometown was related to her. She just felt sick to her stomach, especially since she noticed that he kept his lips nice and soft. Not like she was going to get to try them out. She'd rather face some of the monsters she battled on the quest than have this conversation with Jareth.

She inwardly groaned when he said he became counselor in her absence. Of course things got worse, that was her luck. She crossed her arms across her chest as she took deep breaths as she felt her legs about to give out on her. This had to be a dream. A horrible bad dream because Jareth couldn't be at camp and be her brother, right?

"Quite... quite a bit of time together..." she muttered as she looked up at him. She could notice the other eyes staring at them as she glared them away. Daphne took a couple of deep breaths as tried to fight back the sensation creeping up her throat. "So... how have you been?"

"Yeah, that's what they told me. 'Be excited for Daphne to get back! She's a great leader! You'll love her!' Never once did it cross my mind that..." He closed his eyes and took a really deep breath. What on earth was he supposed to o about this situation? He could run away from camp, that was a dumb idea. He could kiss her, an even stupider idea. He felt the familiar butterflies and the shortness of breath. He was glad when she spoke up to change the subject.

"Good, been good. Moms just hanging out at home... you know and I'm just... here. I set up a sweet video game system so...that's cool..." He spoke slowly, then quickly then slowly again. He probably sounded like a complete fool. But what was he supposed to do about it? How was he even supposed to talk to her? It had been years, they'd been separated so quickly that he didn't even know where her home state was. Guess it was New York.

As much as she didn't want to admit it, Daphne was starting to realize that this wasn't a dream or a hallucination. But she would survive, somehow, even if that meant hanging out with Marius at his cabin a lot more often. She looked at Jareth and felt those familiar feelings she would have around him when they hung out just talking or playing...

Daphne raised both of her eyebrows at Jareth as he mentioned his video game system. "You know electronics attract monsters, right?" she asked with a bit of a smirk as she leaned forward a bit so she could look around the cabin properly. "If you show it to me, I promise I won't tell Chiron about it." She chuckled as she leaned against the door a bit, finally starting to feel some level of comfortableness around him. "Do you still have that one game we used to play?"

Jareths eyes lit up, "Actually, it's not using the normal electronic mortal system. I have it all set up. It's back in my room!" His excitement started to die down. He couldn't take a GIRL in his room.... could he? Siblings go into each others rooms all the time, don't they? Daphne was his sibling now, just another sister hanging out and doing sisterly sister things. Like a sister. A younger sister. Who was the leader of his cabin. Because she was his sister. Oh, Gods...

He nodded, "Oh yeah, Age of Mythology? Still got it. Although, I always played as Thors team not Zeus's... dad fried my computers a couple of times for that." He laughed loudly and gestured to the statue of dad. Their dad, our dad.

Daphne raised both of her eyebrows at the mention his system wasn't set up the normal mortal way. "How did you manage that? I've heard it's hard to convert normal electronics so they don't attract monsters." She glanced over at what she assumed to be his room, but she wasn't sure, since the cabin changed so much during her absence. But he mentioned he still had the video game that they used to play. "I really need to see it now," she chuckled as she pushed off the door frame and walked towards him with a challenging smirk. "Because I remember I kicked your butt once or twice when I played Zeus." She chuckled a bit when that fact hit her. "But it makes sense now. You up for a game?"

Jareth sighed and ran his hands through his hair, "it wasn't easy I promise that. Being a child of Zeus and being able to access electricity helped more than I can explain. Overall, let's just say that I used way more brain power than I thought anyone was capable of. This cute girl from Athena gave me some pointers." He turned red, he just called a girl cute in front of Daphne. Was that allowed? Are you allowed to say that to your childhood crush? But you're allowed to say those things to your sister, you SHOULD say those things to your sister.

He stepped out of her way as she pushed off the frame, he felt his cheeks getting hot, probably because of that smirk she gave him. "Well, I can't say no to you." He said, truthfully. He almost regretted it but didn't have the time. They had a game to play. He led her towards his room and pushed the door open,"after you milady," he smiled. Jareth smiled,  "you can still have Zeus," he commented, "dad can't really get mad at me for being a gentlemen, right?'

Daphne raised her eyebrows when Jareth explained how he got a videogame system set up in their cabins that wouldn't be detected by monsters. She couldn't help but force a smirk while feeling a pang of jealousy as he mentioned the cute girl from Athena. "Do you want to share her name?" she asked before she teased. "Or did you even catch her name." Siblings did that. They teased each other, right? This whole thing was turning Daphne's world upside down and she really didn't know how to act around her childhood crush turned brother.

She followed Jareth to his room, but paused at the door frame to admire his handiwork. "Very impressive," she said as she stepped inside and sat down on the edge of his bed. It felt so wrong that she was here on his bed, but siblings did that, right?

Jareth touched his finger to his nose, trying to remember the girls name. "I.... I'm not sure what her name is actually. I should probably find that out. Maybe you know her...." he followed her towards his door as he spoke, feeling extremely awkward about the whole idea. Like, if Daphne introduced him to the Athena girl officially, would that mean she was setting them up? Was that normal? Gods, nothing was normal.

"Thank you, " Jareth said sincerely as he stopped behind her in the doorway. As she crossed to his bed he made a beeline straight to the video game system which was placed against the wall across from the bed. He sat on the floor a few feet in front of her and tossed a controller back to her. "All right, I guess we can just stat playing on a map we have already built in the past?"

Daphne couldn't help but smirk when her brother couldn't remember the girl's name. She mentally flinched at the word "brother". It just sounded so strange and foreign. Nothing like the relationship she had with Jareth before camp, but she couldn't let anything develop. "I knew you wouldn't get her name," she said with a smirk as she cocked an eyebrow at him. "And I might know her, but I've been gone a while and new people just show up."

She caught the controller that he tossed to her and looked down at it. It felt familiar, which was weird for a piece of plastic with a bunch of knobs and wires in it. She took a deep breath as she glanced up at Jareth. "Probably would be best if we did. That way we have even ground so I can kick your butt."
