Cassi let out a long sigh, which took the form of a lovely little puff of white that curled above her head. And this time it wasn't just her, it was actually getting much colder. Winter was beginning to break through the autumn season, brining sharp winds and morning frost amongst the flora. It was Cassi's favorite time of the year, to be honest. The snowflakes that she could summon from her fingertips would settle on the earth and remain for a longer time. Her bursts of Icy Winds seemed more powerful. Winter was her element, and she felt as if nothing could stop her. Except memories of course, but she refused to acknowledge those persistent things. The lakeside was quiet enough, as it was just past dawn when most campers would be just rousing and trudging off for breakfast. So Cassi had some time before she had to head off to whatever chores or training her cabin was in for today. She was standing with her hands tucked into her light winter coat her sibling had lent her, just poking her shoes into the sand listening to the drowsy camp awake. Once snow fell and actually stuck, she'd really have a ball. Snowball fight that is. She'd realized now that her skill at snow battles was a side effect of being a child of a snow goddess, but she definitely was not complaining.
She kicked up some sand, pursing her lips. While her abilities were certainly amplified now that winter was on its way, she couldn't quite whip up a snowstorm just yet, so she would have to wait until it fell on its own accord (or a goddess's whim). All she could do was kick up a bit of harsh wind and give people chills and toss a bit of snow about for now. So there Cassi stood, pondering when the first snow would fall so she could pelt unsuspecting campers with compressed snow to her little heart's content. And of course, the young demigod could not resist humming a Christmas-y tune of Let It Snow.

Jim was up at his usual time, that is to say, early. He always started his days out with an early morning run through the forest, bashing any monsters he came across with his trusty bronze club. On his back was a pack that weighed somewhere around one hundred and fifty pounds (roughly 68 kilos for our non-American writership). It was used to simulate the average weight of the demigods he may wind up having to carry back to camp if they get injured during the journey. Dressed in only a green t-shirt with a picture of Artemis holding a fork and knife on it, the letters P.E.T.A. under her picture. On the back, not that anyone could see, it said, "People Eating Tasty Animals." He leaped over a fallen log and continued his run, his shaggy black goat legs pumping hard to raised his speed even higher.
Reaching a check point only he knew about, he suddenly jumped up and started bouncing around off of the trees around him. He knew this part of the forest had no nymph trees, so he was safe from being pelted with various nuts and bits of tree. Kicking off of several tree trunks in a row he slowly rose higher into the air before starting to leap between the branches of the trees. He saw a bit of light ahead of him and knew he had almost made it to the lake, where he would take a short break to drink before he started the rest of his morning routine.
Giving a mighty yell with his last leap, he cleared the branches and did a flip, turning in the air to face back towards the forest. He landed on his hooves, one hand on the ground as he slid backwards, almost going into the lake itself. Feeling his hooves come to rest in the soft sands of the lake shore, he stood back up to face the forest. Giving a big grin, he shrugged of the pack he was carrying. Flipping it over to reveal mostly carefully stacked ingots of Celestial Bronze, he pulled out one of the three bottles of water. As he slowly drank from it, he heard someone, or something, humming a tune that he found to be familiar. Giving a small smile he chuckled to himself before turning to see someone a little ways down the lake side. Picking his back back up he trotted down the lake to beside her, singing a bit as he arrived. "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Well, it is almost that time isn't it? Hello there, I didn't expect anyone to be up this early like I am. The name's James Silver, people call me Jim. Satyr extraordinaire, at your service, Ms?" As he spoke he gave the girl in front of him a smile.

Cassi sniffed slightly, relishing in the crispness of the chilly air. It was always so comforting how much clearer it all seemed in the Winter seasons. So peaceful and exciting the world was at this time. Well, nearly peaceful. As Cassi hummed another verse, she started slightly as another joined her song. She bit her lip, eyes narrowing, and prepared a few choice words for whoever dared intrude on her alone time like that, but the words vanished as soon as her eyes rested on the pair of shaggy goat legs supporting the newcomer. Ah, so it was just a satyr. She bit back her annoyance and instead offered just a slight smile for Jim the satyr. Though she had been perfectly content with her solitary Winter contemplations, she supposed it couldn't hurt too terribly for the company of a satyr.
"Cassi Millard," Cassi said after she had taken another long breath of the sharp air. "Pleasure to meet you, James, er, Jim."
Cassi looked over James's shirt, smile growing ever slightly. One of her few favorite things about being introduced into the world of demigods was the constant amusement she could find in words and places that held little to no meaning for her before. "Neat shirt." She bit her tongue at her lame attempt at a compliment. Wow, wonderful conversation starter, Cass. Your charisma is shining brightly today for sure!
