Ariel stared at herself in the mirror in the Poseidon Cabin bathroom. Her shirt was pulled up and her fingers were gently moving over the skin of her stomach. She bit her lip to keep herself from getting too emotional. She still couldn't believe that only a few months ago she had had another life growing inside her. She'd just started to really show when everything had gone wrong. All that blood... Ariel could still remember how much it had hurt and how she'd had to drag herself to the emergency room. Her body had recovered quickly thanks to the ambrosia and nectar that she'd taken with when she'd run off. There was now no way to tell what had happened to her physically, but she could feel that scars, raised and red on the inside. The blonde was so lost her thoughts that she didn't realise someone had opened the door until too late. She pulled her shirt down roughly and ducked her head in embarrassment, not wanting to look whoever it was that had caught her in the eye as she tried to make a beeline for the door.

Sammy J really didn't know how people could live cold weather. It was maybe in the 50s here, but she was bundled up scarf and all. Campers were giving her all sorts of strange looks as it looked like she was a giant blue marshmallow waddling through camp. However, they'd be marshmallows too if they grew up in the warm Cali sun only to be placed in someplace that snowed. Snowed! Snow on the beach was the weirdest concept that Sammy J could barely wrap her mind around.
She went back to her cabin, hoping she could pretend it was still summer by turning up the thermostat, despite the protests of her siblings, and rock out to some Beach Boys. She walked in to see one of her siblings, Ariel, standing by the mirror. "Hiya Ariel," she chimed as she stripped herself of her many layers. "How are..." She let her sentence dropped off when she noticed Ariel was acting weird and making a beeline to the door. "Hey," she said softly as she reached out to grab her sister's arm. Concern was in her eyes as she looked at her sibling. "Is everything okay?"

Ariel jumped a little at being touched. It had been such a long time since she'd had any contact with anyone that it almost felt foreign. She looked up sharply at her sister, making eye contact for a moment before looking down and away once again. "Oh, hi Sammy J." She replied quietly. "Uh ... yeah, yeah I'm fine." She replied. It almost felt like her voice didn't work properly anymore from lack of use. She couldn't for the life of her bring her voice much louder than above a whisper which probably didn't make her sound very convincing. There honestly wasn't enough fight left inside Ariel to pull her arm free from her sister. Instead she let out a sigh and looked up. "I'm fine." She repeated, hoping that it would be enough.

Sammy J knew something wasn't right and it made a pang in her stomach. She pressed her lips together as she looked at her sister. Her whole demeanor was off. She didn't know Ariel personally, but the stories she heard from her other siblings, she was acting the complete opposite. Ariel kept saying she was fine, but Sammy J knew that wasn't the case. She was about to let it go, since she wasn't good with dealing with these kinds of situations, but something in Ariel's eyes... Sammy J couldn't tell what it was, but it wasn't a pleasant one.
"Are you sure?" Sammy J pressed a little bit more. "I mean... you're scattering off and being skiddish..." She twisted her face up a bit as she tried to figure out what to say. "Are you sure you don't need to... talk about something? It looks like something is bugging you."

Zachary was still getting used to the whole 'cabin leader' thing. He kind of had to take over when Ariel suddenly disappeared, but now he was starting to really like the idea. His half sisters return did make things a little awkward... but he wasn't going to give up the spot. Ariel would never ask him to either, she was way to respectful for that. Plus, she had been through a lot and Zach really thought it would be better if she just relaxed for a while. However, he was sure that the last thing Ariel would want was pity, which is why he didn't go as easy on her as he thought she might need. He still gave her the full cabin schedule and expected her to clean her room... hadn't she always done that for him even in his worst times?
Now, Zachary only had one brother and that was Anthony, so he knew that the bathroom in their cabin was usually full of girls, so he made it a point to knock before entering. He tapped on the window and gently pushed the door open since it was unlocked. He came to see his sisters locked in an intense stare. Sammy was holding onto Ariel and the two blondes looked as if they had just seen a ghost or something. Zach stepped further in, "Hi... are you guys okay?" he asked.

"Uh .. I'm .." Ariel stuttered, stumbling over words trying to think of something reassuring to say even though there was nothing she could say now to make her sister believe her. She bit her lip, she wasn't used to feeling this exhausted and like she couldn't even pretend. It had been building and was only getting worse these last few weeks. She needed to get everything off her chest and she knew that, but whenever she had tried to say the words out loud they died in her throat. Ariel's head turned at the sound of her brother's voice a mixture of relief and terror raced through her as she realised that he could either help Sammy J force her to spill the beans, or stop everything and let her go. However she didn't even know which she wanted and which she dreaded. "I'm uh ... Gods I don't know..." Ariel said quietly, she hadn't meant to say the last part but it slipped out making her feel somewhat empty.

Sammy J really didn't know how to go about dealing with Ariel. She wanted to help, but at the same time, she didn't know if she wanted to hear the issues plaguing her sister. She was about to say something before Zachary decided it was the perfect moment for him to walk in. She glanced over at her brother with wide eyes as she nodded her head towards Ariel trying to signal that she needed some intervention at the moment. She looked over at her sister as it looked like everything was overwhelming her at once.
"Ariel..." Sammy J said softly as she gently tugged on her arm to lead her over to the beds. "Why don't you sit down and tell us what's going on. We're here for you, you know."

Zach had clearly entered in on an awkward situation, and Ariel was making it obvious by slightly stuttering and letting her words slip away from her. Sammys nod towards Ariel made it clear that something was up, and Sammy J was determined to get to the bottom of it. Zach understood that look. Ariel needed some serious attention.
Zach opened the door the rest of the way and gingerly shut the door behind him as the girls stepped through, being led by Jordan. He glanced up to assure that the front door was closed before crossing over to the girls and placing a hand on Sammys shoulder, "She's right, Ariel." He sat down on the closet bunk and gently patted the bed beside him, offering the girls to sit beside him. This is what cabin leaders did wasn't it? Talked their siblings through their problems?

Ariel followed her siblings through the door towards the bunks, looking at the front door for a moment wondering if she could make a run for it and get away. Then she remembered that she lived here and she would eventually have to come back to sleep or shower. Her body was beginning to react from the adrenaline that was seeping into her bloodstream at the thought of recounting her past to her siblings. Her whole body was beginning to shake, it was manageable for now but the blonde could already tell it was going to get worse. She sat next to her brother, and clasped her hands together in her lap tight, staring at them for a moment before looking up. "I don't know if you guys are ready to hear about this." She told them honestly. It was going to be a lot to take in and she wanted to make sure they were prepared.

Sammy J gently lead Ariel to the bunks and guided her to sit down. She took the other side of her sister as she looked at her with concerned eyes. She would glance over at Zachary to make sure if he was thinking the same things she was about this situation. Ariel just looked slightly shell-shocked, kind of like Sammy J was when she was rescued and brought into the modern world. "Ariel," she said as she gingerly placed a hand on her sister's shoulder. "I survived the 60s, part of the 70s, and the Lotus Casino. I think I might be ready for what you need to say. She glanced over at Zach as she nodded her head to reaffirm her statement.

Ariel nodded at Sammy J, but she wasn't really convinced. If she'd done what she had in the 60's she almost certainly would have been a social pariah. She took a deep breath. "I'm not really sure where to start." she confessed, twisting her bracelets around her wrists nervously. "Okay, well after I ran away," She swallowed down her guilty feelings about that so she could keep going. "I did ... awful things just to have a place to sleep." She couldn't look at either of her siblings as she recounted everything in case she saw judgement in their eyes. "Eventually I met a guy, and things started being okay for a while, until um ...." Ariel bit her lip. "I fell pregnant." Ariel kept her face down as she spoke, her mouth suddenly tasted like acid. "But it turned out that he was actually married and wanted nothing to do with me." She chocked down a sob.

Zach, of course, nodded in agreement when Sammy J said they could handle it, but he didn't say anything. He was sure that Sammy J was giving her enough encouragement for the two of them. As Ariel started speaking, Zach slowly placed his arm around her shoulders, careful not to startle her. When she said the word 'pregnant', Zach pulled her closer to him, tightening his hold around her shoulders. He shook his head, clenching his fist on his other hand.
"Ariel...," he started slowly after a moment, "I know this part can't be good. But what happened to the baby?" he asked this very carefully and gently, not wanting to upset her in any way. She hadn't brought a baby back with her, or so he thought. Was there a baby hiding in this cabin somewhere!?

Sammy J couldn't help but feel... boiling anger in her stomach over this boyfriend that Ariel had. Boys were stupid, that's why Sammy J never liked them along with other reasons. Her eyes couldn't help but narrow a bit as she almost forgot for a second her hippie ways and wanted to strangle this boy. Protectiveness over her siblings was probably the only reason Sammy J would get over being a pacifist and possibly go to war.
Her eyes darted between Zachary and Ariel as they talked about the baby. Then the sinking realization hit Sammy J as all the pieces seemingly fell into place. Her eyes widened as she looked over at Ariel before she whispered, "You lost it, didn't you?" Her heart grew heavy as she pulled her siblings into a group hug.

Ariel was fighting down the tears, as she stared at her hands. She flinched a little at her brothers touch. She couldn't tell what her siblings where really thinking. Probably awful things about her having an affair with a married man. How could she be so stupid?! At their questions, Ariel looked up at them and stared at each in turn. Her throat hurt from holding back her tears and she could only nod in response to Sammy J's question. She couldn't say it out loud because it hurt too much to even think about. How could she explain what had happened to her baby when she didn't even know herself.

Zachary just sat there letting the silence wrap around them for a moment. He moved his arm to accept Sammy J's group hug and shook his head a little. What could he possibly say to this sort of thing? He was just a kid. At least, right now he felt like a kid. He felt so small. But Ariel probably felt smaller. He glanced around Ariels shoulders back at Sammy J, giving her a look of concern with a furrowed brow and shook his head again a little. What were they supposed to do now? Zach was mostly only good at the fun stuff. Granted, so was Sammy J. Maybe they could lift her spirits with a little fun?
