First Day Jitters (Open)

   Amelia walked in to cabin 10 for the first time with a Camp Half Blood T-Shirt in hand. This is my new home, she thought. She quickly walked over to an empty bed and put down her t-shirt. Amelia sat down on the bed and looked around the cabin wondering if she would fit in or find any nice people to be friends with. She hoped not to find any rude people in the cabin, but she couldn't become too hopeful. 

   Amelia had just gotten claimed that morning at breakfast. When she went to offer a portion of her food to her unknown godly parent, roses appeared at her feet, and for the rest of the day she found roses wherever she went. Amelia went to the big house and talked to Chiron about it, and he told her what it meant, that she had been claimed. Amelia was happy she had been claimed, but she had no desire to be claimed by Aphrodite. She didn't want to be a part of the Aphrodite stereotype, and she didn't want to have to live with people that actually fit the stereotype. 

   Her shyness had always affected Amelia's life because she was always nervous about talking to people, but Amelia knew she would have to face it at some point. Amelia stood up from her new bunk and went to find somebody to talk to. She tapped on somebody's shoulder, and after they had spun around to see who had tapped them, she said with a smile, "Hi, I'm Amelia. I'm new here!"

It was a grim day in the infirmary. The Hermes cabin seemed to pull a horrible prank that landed a lot of campers in there and gave Dakota more stress than usual. She was so out of it that she barely heard Chiron telling her that there was another sibling in her cabin after being claimed that morning. She remembered telling Chiron That's nice. before heading back to her cabin. The only thing that sounded nice at that moment was a very hot shower and getting out of these scrubs.

When she walked into the cabin, she barely recognized that there was a new face. She practically had tunnel vision as she walked towards her bed and grabbed clothes she would change into after her shower. She felt a tap on her shoulder and glanced over it to see who wanted her attention. With a puzzled look, she turned around to face the girl fully. "Amelia?" she asked before it hit her. "Oh, you're the person Chiron was talking about. I'm Dakota. I'm the cabin leader."
