ANYTHING ELSE: For the most part Theo is a fun loving guy who likes to do his own thing. Never being one to follow conventions he usually finds rules and expectations a bit too stuffy and confining for his liking. Because of this he just does what he wants. He is a free spirit at heart and he tries to live his life to the fullest without worries or regrets. Granted he is very confident in his abilities and can come off as a little egotistical sometimes but he usually has the skill to back it up.
He has a quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor and as a result he may initially put some people off. Still, deep down Theo isn't really that bad of a guy. He likes to tease people a little too much and usually goes too far but generally it's only because he likes you. He doesn't have many people that know him that well but he likes to keep it that way as it minimizes the chance that he will form bonds that tie him down to one place. He is lazy and a bit unmotivated but for the most part he can be counted on when the rubber meets the road even if he might make fun of you for needing his help.

HISTORY:
Born to Dr. Andrew Dean professor of history at the University of Maryland Theo practically grew up in a classroom. As such he had anything but a normal childhood. Even from when Theo was young his father always seemed to be completely absorbed in his work to the point of being neglectful. He was a strict professor always focused on filling his students’ minds with knowledge and more often than not treated his son similarly forcing him to learn seemingly useless information about history and languages.
Because of this Theo spent a lot of time in the university library trying to catch up on the ‘assignments’ that his father would task him with. This did have the effect of giving the boy an interest in books and artifacts but negatively it also bred an attitude of discontentment and laziness. His father wanted literally nothing more than for Theo to succeed in his education and as he continued to make things more difficult it only served to push the boy further away.
Theo learned about his heritage at the age of thirteen when he was claimed by his mother late one night when he had found his way into the occult section of the library. As his powers began to develop he tried to explain them to his father but every attempt was met with disbelief. Eventually the two had a falling out over the issue that ended in Theo running away from home.
Before too long Theo found his way to camp but as a son of Hecate he soon discovered that most half bloods really didn't know what to do with him either. Hecate was a mysterious goddess after all and most campers treated him with a superstitious fear. This being the case Theo decided to play up the role and soon had people thinking he was some type of weird mystic. It was kind of fun seeing how other people reacted to him so Theo just decided to keep it up.
As he matured Theo realized he couldn't just spend all his time at camp living by the gods' rules. Because of this he decided to break off on his own, go out and do his own thing and just experience life. He didn't really have a place to go to since he had never repaired the relationship with his father so instead he started traveling around as a fortune teller, con man and street magician as he moved from place to place looking for magical items and tomes.
Since that time he has become fairly accomplished with his magical abilities and has been returning to camp every so often when he gets tired of his travels. He doesn't usually stay long but since he has never had anything to keep him in one place he's never seen a reason to do so. Recently he has just returned for another stay in his mother's cabin though for how long remains to be seen.

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:
Crickets chirped, birds stirred and all around him the forest came alive with the tiny sounds that he was familiar with as Ash crept through the tree line with his bow drawn and his hoodie pulled up over his head. He knew that he shouldn’t be out here. He was breaking curfew to be out here and if he got caught he would probably have to fight off a few harpies before Chiron ever got a shot at him. Fortunately the young demi-god really didn’t care.
The camp was fine. He hadn’t been here long but he didn’t mind the rules and it was nice not being chased by monsters all the time. Still, the plain and simple fact of the matter was that he hadn’t been hunting in a long time and the woods surrounding camp half-blood were too nice of a hunting ground to let it go to waste.
He had heard stories about monsters living in the forest and he supposed that they were probably true but that was fine. Monsters were a challenge but they were an excellent place to test his skill and what was the point of a hunt if there was no challenge? Unfortunately not even he was really prepared for what might be lurking out here.
A clattering his from off to his side caught his attention and let Ash know that he wasn’t alone. It was the only warning he got as in the next instant he found himself being lifted off his feet and flying through the air feeling as if he had been hit by someone swinging a tree trunk. His belly exploded in pain but as he dropped back to the ground and skidded to a stop he realized that miraculously no serious damage had been done. He was winded though and as he got to his feet and got his first look at what had jumped him he began to have his first doubts about coming out here tonight.
The monster was a giant scorpion and it had swiped him with one of its large pincers. The creature was fast and even before Ash had gotten to his feet it had covered the distance between them and was preparing for another attack.
Ash didn’t think. He let his conscious mind slip away and just acted rolling to the right as a stinger dripping with green liquid slammed into the ground where he had been just a moment earlier. The creature thrashed and hissed in anger as it tore its stinger free but Ash had already come up from his roll into a kneeling position and brought his bow up to aim. The scorpion turned to face him and when it did Ash saw his shot. Without wasting a moment he pulled back his bow string and let a bronze tipped arrow fly straight towards the creature’s eye.
