Post by Jeremie Langley on Nov 10, 2015 20:32:12 GMT -5
Jeremie usually spent his nights in the slightly crowded Athena cabin, but tonight... It was rather quiet, it was as if he were an only child again. Which he didn't mind, silence was nice every now and again for the newly appointed cabin leader and it gave the boy so down time for some TLC. As he had just left from the camp showers, and was returning back to his cabin from a distance it sounded like a faint echo. But upon closer inspection it had seen to be ragging party at the Dionysus' cabin. "Huh..." Jeremie mumbled, wiping the fog from his frames. "Maybe that's where my cabin has ventured to.. I hope they don't come back to late. But, they are all old enough I mean... Maybe it's an 'adults' only party." Gods, did Jeremie hate the word adult, sure he was younger but he was far more mature than most kids his age. As perusal aside the absents of his siblings, Jeremie went to his room and grabbed a few books off his shelves, and was ready to let the owl out for the night.

Harvey, if questioned about these sort of matters, didn't actually care for parties. No matter what his heritage says. It was too many people crammed into too small of a space and he'd usually end up with someone's hand in his pocket at least once an hour. Half the time he was pretty sure it was a Hermes kid trying to snatch gum but since he couldn't actually prove that it's what their goal was... It tended to be safer just to avoid parties all together.
That among many other reasons is why the son of Dionysus found himself walking away from a party, smelling faintly of wine while a hedgehog tried to burrow into his hood. The noise of the party faded to a only a faint sound punctuated by a loud (obnoxious) laugh as he walked further away from his own cabin. Looking for any tell tale sign of movement as he turned up to the Athena cabin. Safer to be prudent than get caught in another one of their little traps.
The demigod smiled a bit as he knocked fairly loudly, considering he hadn't even thought that the person he was looking for might not be in the cabin. "Jeremie! Helloo! Open uuuup, it's the party police!" He snickered as he knocked again, waiting for the other reason to walk away from the party to open his door.

Jeremie blinked to the banging and quickly shooed out Minerva. "Ah... Party Police?" He asked, slightly confused as he placing down the few books he had collected while he tended to his cabin and for evening reading, he soon opened the door with a faint smile. "Oh... It's just you Harvey." He sighed lightly, worried it was some other drunk demigods, but once that thought slid by he soon smelt the boy... He wreaked like a brewery to the other. "Let me guess? You were at the party?" Captain Obvious much? But it couldn't hurt to ask anyway, he knew the other wasn't found of said events but hey... It was at the others home. "You... Um need something?" He asked in a bit of a nervous tone, feeling a bit exposed as he was in his sleepwear, an over-sized band shirt and plaid pajama bottoms... Comfortable yes, being outside with them on... He felt like he was doing something wrong. "Here!" He suggested quickly. "C-Come inside..." He waved in, leading the intoxicated other inside.

At the confused sounding voice coming from the other side of the door, Harvey let out a laugh. Tipping over dangerously enough that Sonic made a small noise from his hood. "You're under arrest! To be taken to-," Harvey trailed off as the door opened to reveal his friend. Though, that greeting. Definitely something left to be desired with that. "just Harvey? Just Harvey! I'll have you know I am not just Harvey. I am.." He trailed off to pull Sonic out from his hood to hold up purposely. "Harvey and Sonic."
There was more laughter from the possibly slightly more inebriated than he realized son of Dionysus, a grin on his face at the question. "Only for awhile." Then he got bored and noticed a certain friend missing, and well here he is. Standing in front of his friend who is wearing what looks like pajamas. Getting ready for bed. Harvey might have felt bad about that if he thought it was late enough for Jeremie to actually being sleeping. It probably wasn't thought. He hadn't checked recently. "Jeremiee, don't you want me here?" His tone was light and supplemented by his wide grin.
He followed Jeremie's guiding directions, crossing the room fairly smoothly only to give up half way and rest against the back of the couch. Not looking inclined to move. Mostly because he wasn't inclined to move any time soon. His gaze moved briefly to where Jeremie's owl was staring at Sonic like he was her next lunch. (Dinner? He wasn't sure.) "Well! What were you and Mini-Miss up to?"

Jeremie turned a bit a flushed. "Oh... Sorry Sonic... I didn't know you where in there... My mice should be happy to see ya again." And his face became even more of a crimson from the boy asked. 'you don't want me here...' "Ah! Of course I do... Your always welcome in my cabin... I like your company..." Jeremie spoke lightly as he shut the cabins door. A tad bit puzzled to see the others action on the couch but he couldn't blame him due to the wine intake, and quickly shoot a sharp glare to Minerva as she screeched. "Well... Minerva was out on..." Minerva was out, but she must have noticed the boy and her 'prey' and swooped back over. "And I was cleaning up some of the books before... I read and went off to bed..." He glanced with a faint smile. "But enough about me... Did you have fun?" He asked before sitting across from the other.

Ah yes. Harvey nodded a bit at the greeting to his hedgehog. He could remember that entire event fondly, vaguely, somewhat. It was on the tip of his tongue really. His slightly numb tongue- a sign that he definitely shouldn't have branched away from the wine. Harvey was torn away from his mental investigation of the buzzing in his body by Jeremie's light words. "I don't think your siblings would agree to an all access pass." He pointed out, grinning anyway. Who wouldn't want permission to be 'always welcome' into a cabin that wasn't their own.
Harvey followed Jeremie's progress over to the couch -keeping half his attention to where Minerva was eyeing Sonic- with a intense focus usually given only during fighting lessons. Yes, it was definitely much harder to focus on words and movement at the same time. He patted the couch fondly for seemingly no reason at the thought. "Oh! Books. What books? Fun books or just.. book books?" He stretched a bit against the couch until he was draped over the back, looking quite like a blanket might. A human blanket. "It was crowded. Not the most fun. More fun watching Mini-Miss try to get the mice and Sonic." His response was easy, and truthful. A moment paused before he stuck out his still slightly numb tongue, eyes becoming crossed in his attempt to look down at it. He'd forgotten it was numb while he was talking.

One quality the son of Athena did like where his eyes, grey and always calculating. But as fate would have it for Jeremie they usually remind hidden behind his frames, so even his glare looked shallow... He assumed that's why Minerva never was fazed by his stare. But he had his eyes on her just waiting for her to try something. "Oh...? Crowded... You aren't one for crowds in general." He wondered how long he had stayed for. "Well, you can stay here if you like, I wouldn't mind having the company again. It's nice.. I was an only child before I came to camp so.. I miss the commotion in my cabin." Having Harvey was just a bonus to Jeremie though, he was a bit shy with the other, for as long as Jeremie could remember he had a crush on the other, I mean... They practically opposites and yet they had so much in common was baffling to him, Jeremie blinked a few times as he started to fade out into his thoughts about the other, his face became a pale red. "Ah! Oh, yeah for reading... just a few light novels and a couple comics like I usually do..."

"It might surprise you, but commotion is actually my middle name." Harvey was quick to reassure the son of Athena. Even if it was with a lie. But, well, what more could you expect from a buzzing kid of Dionysus. His back ached where he had it stretched around the back of the couch but he had little inclination to move. Even less than before what with the blood traveling to his head. "But! I aim to impress- is it working?" He questioned with all the intensity he gave his new books before his interest tapered off as it always did. Forever sticking his nose in before wandering back out.
Now, Harvey didn't have a crush on Jeremie but he could admit that the boy was one of his top friends. Even if they were from two different cabins and- well, Jeremie didn't know a thing about wine while Harvey couldn't read a map to save his life. They bonded over their love of comics. A mutual understanding that Iron Man is the best and an agreement that if anyone was to marry the genius, it would totally be Harvey. His eyes were trained on Jeremie and a grin still pulling on the corner of his lips. Why was Jeremie red? Harvey glanced up to make sure his shirt was actually on still before shrugging off the odd reaction.
"A few 'light' novels, he says. Like a normal person just reads that quickly." Harvey teased gently before reaching out to pat his friend's shoulder. "This is why you're the smart one, Jer."

Jeremie smiled lightly, though his face was tinted pink and he glanced down with the other as he checked for his own shirt, this made Jeremie face brighten in hue as he imagined the other without a shirt. His mind can go a mile a min and yet that little motion sparked that? Thank you Athena... "Well..." Jeremie spoke. "You do impress me, quite a lot if I may be so bold." He took in a breathe and looked the other in the eyes. "I admire how you speak your mind... How you say how you feel... I myself have a hard time with that as I have a group mentality, I'll think for the appeal and benefit of the group before myself and how you just.. I dunno speak you mind with ease? I like that a lot..." His gaze soon averted to the floor, he wanted to say so much more but he was well.. Afraid, he feared the rejection and well.. Worried it worry what he had with the other male. "I'm just good at reading... My mum read to me every night.. I blame her for how good I can read." He laughed lightly.

There it was again. The red on his cheeks. Harvey was starting to wonder if maybe Jeremie had been drinking alone. Not that the male would, but since it wasn't particularly warm in the cabin.. What other option was there? He followed the red down Jeremie's face, curious to see if it would spread farther down. Did people even blush down their necks and chests in real life? Or maybe this sudden redness was a rash? Eventually he realized Jeremie had been speaking the whole time that he'd been exploring his friend's weird redness. '-I have a group mentality...' "Group mentality is the best in a leader, though! At least you're suited for it." He snickered in a bit, shifting around on the back of the couch to ease the strain on his neck. "And you're super smart. Ten points for Jer!"
"Ah..." His voice softened a bit at the mention of a mother that would actually read her son to sleep. Not that pancakes weren't great. A smile was quick to appear after he pushed the thought away. It wouldn't do him any good to focus on the past. "So we can give her the credit for two light novels being eaten for dinner!"

"Well, my first day on the 'job'." As Jeremie dubbed it. "My older sister chewed me out for apparently weaseling the title from under her nose, if it weren't for Cleo I wouldn't have doubted her tearing off my head or something..." Jeremie sighed. "I sometimes I worry that I'm only smart because Athena is my mother.. Not because I just am, but that's I'm only this way because of Athena.. If that made any sense at all." Jeremie started to worry about the word vomit was acting up as he felt he was waltzing around what he was trying to say. Wait... What was he trying to say? Gods.. as soon as he looked back he saw the others adorable smile and missed the others word vomit.

Harvey huffed a bit as gravity slid him further down the couch until his head was resting on the cushions. A minor discomfort at best but given the still buzzing quality of his body, Harvey was beginning to wonder if he should try moving so that the blood wasn't rushing to his head to make the situation worse. In the mean time he'd ignore the tiny prickling feeling on his stomach that meant Sonic was crawling over his shirt. Probably go back to focusing on his friend. One of the reasons for coming over the cabin. Right. He could do this. "Would it matter?" Harvey questioned, not understanding questioning one's talents. Maybe that's why he couldn't fathom having talents of his own. "You're smart, Jer. Why focus on where it's from? Maybe it's your Mom, maybe it's not."

Jeremie was a little fixated on the hedgehog waddling across the upside down male. "Dose he always just explore your body?" He asked, Sonic look like he was enjoying himself, Jeremie just kept an eye on Minerva as she a hawk more than just the snowy bran owl she really is. "And well, I guess your right..." He said soon joining the other, maybe if he saw how weird his positioning was he'd readjust himself, as Jeremie lied back hiss glasses slid down, showing his dull, but soft grey eyes... Everything looked fuzzy, like he was in a pillow and apart of him worried for Sonic, Minerva was a crafty owl after all.

Harvey jerked a bit at the question, not realizing that Sonic's habits might not be normal. After all it was completely normal to Harvey. Maybe because he lived with the hedgehog? Harvey glanced down to where the hedgehog was trying to slip into his hoodie's pocket. "Yeah. I think he forgets what I'm like." Harvey answered it honestly, a small grin pulling at his lips. Focused as he was on his hedgehog and his friend, he'd forgotten his early vow to keep an eye on the owl.
The grin spread wider as Jeremie joined him in sitting on the couch completely wrong. Feeling a bit giddy he let his hand move through the air -it sort of felt like water, how fun- to pull Jeremie's glasses off the other's face from where they were slipping down. It felt even odder to be looking at the grey eyes of his friend. With no glasses between them. "So." He started, pausing to actually try and think of something to say before laughing a bit to himself, "How's being cabin leader? Other than the first day!"

Jeremie looked to the blob that was his friends, smiling some. Most people didn't get the pleasure of seeing the boy with out the harsh frames. "I like it my blobby counterpart.." He felt he should grab on to something, as he palmed for something his hand made its way on the others palm, it took the boy a few moments before he released it had been the others. "Ah! S-Sorry.." Jeremie said lightly, feeling his face grow hot again. 'Darn... I just got that to fade...' He thought. "I..." Jeremie took a breath as he gulped down his nerves, pushing them as far down as he could. "Harvey... Can I be honest with you?" He asked lightly, his pale iris' glancing to what he assumed was the others. "Harvey.. If I don't say this now, I don't think I'll able to again.. I care a lot for you, like... A lot, a lot... To the point it gives me butterflies... It's an odd feeling that I don't quite understand." As he spoke he was a little shaky, almost like he was stripping off an aegis, opening himself up. "I think... I've been struck with one of the twins arrows." He said as he began to compose himself. "Though, I have no idea if it's Eros' arrow of 'love' or Anteros' arrow of unrequited feelings...."
