[Lucas Foster]

Chiron didn't let Lucas have a real weapon. It was something about it being too dangerous or something. Lucas didn't know or didn't care. His lightsaber was pretty much better than any other weapon that his siblings had. Yeah, it wasn't as shiny, but it light up and made lightsaber noises. So. Much. Better.

Usually, when it came time for the Apollo cabin to practice in the arena, Lucas was sent away to the Big House to be babysat by Chiron, but not today. Lucas screamed and stomped his feet until his siblings agreed to let him tag along. He wanted to practice like his siblings, not be around some stinky old horseman.

So when he got the arena, he went to the dummies with some of his siblings. He was going to be a big boy and show them how much he can do with his lightsaber. He turned it on and it glowed and hummed like in the movies. He faced a dummy and gripped his lightsaber with both hands. And with a big "HIYAH!" he hit the dummy hard.

Today was a training day for the Apollo cabin and Jay was looking forward to releasing the stress of being away from home out on a dummy. He needed to let it out somehow and it was either this or by screaming loudly into his pillow, not preferable. Besides Jay wanted to try out his new spear and how well he would actually do with it, he already knew that Apollo children were meant to be pros with a bow and arrow but he thought that was too main stream and Jay preferred a more hands on option. A spear would help him be a lighter footed fighter and would utilise his speed. Not to mention a spear is totally bad ass.

Clutching his spear in one hand, Jay chose a dummy on the far end; he was going to swing his spear into the side of the neck but was distracted by a loud whine-like noise. To his left was his little ‘brother’ Lucas, with a toy lightsabre in his hand. This made Jay grin to himself as he dug his spear into the ground, leaning on it. ”Easy there kiddo. You’ll poke your eye out.” Jay said to him in a soft voice, a hint of sarcasm inside his words. He knew this kid, everyone in Apollo cabin knew him. He was a terror to deal with but for some reason Jay didn’t hate him, he wouldn’t want his company for longer than half an hour but Lucas did make him laugh from time to time and that was all Jay needed to have respect for someone, as long as he didn’t annoy Jay too much Jay would have no reason to prank him and hide every single sweet he has before setting fire to them.

Lucas hit the dummy as hard as he can and it made his hands hurt a little bit. But he heard one of his siblings call out to him and he whirled around with his lightsaber in his hands. It was the new bubby in his cabin. Lucas didn't know him very well, but he seemed pretty cool. The cool bubby. Lucas smiled widely as he ran towards him. "Did you see that?" he screamed as he ran over. "It DESTROYED that dummy! I used the Force!"

Once he got close enough to Jay, he stopped and held his lightsaber in front of him in an attack position. "Bubby, we should fight," he said with a big grin on his face. "I want to fight you like the other big kids do."

Jay watched as Lucas pummelled into the dummy with as much force as possible. It was a valiant effort for a young padawan. ”Nice nice, the dummy got destroyed. Looks like the young padawan is not so much like a padawan anymore.” He replied with a laugh, using his free hand to itch the top of his head and brushing his hair slightly. Realistically he should be training right now but Chiron wasn’t around so he figured a talk with one of his cabin members would be nice.

He didn’t quite expect Lucas to challenge him because of this short conversation however. Was Jay even allowed to accept the challenge? Lucas shouldn’t technically be at the arena anyway and it was through sulking that he is even here. With a quick glance around Jay shrugged, lifting his spear off the ground and giving it a quick spin before extending it out towards Lucas. He tapped the toy lightsabre lightly with his spear. ”Go easy on me okay kiddo?” Jay teased with a grin, there was no way Jay was going to take this seriously but he would at least let Lucas believe it was real. Build the confidence from an early age.

"I'm not a padawan!" Lucas declared as he puffed out his chest to make himself look bigger. "I am a Jedi Knight, like Luke Skywalker! He's so cool!" He hopped up and down, barely containing his excitement. "Chiron is going to see that I'm a big kid now and I can weapons like the other big kids! Maybe I can get a big kid lightsaber!" A big grin decorated his face as he looked up at his new, cool bubby.

But it came for them to battle. Lucas had been preparing for this the last few years he was at camp. He gripped his lightsaber with both hands as he scrunched up his face in concentration. He looked at his bubby and studied him for a moment. Lucas Skywalker was going to take on Darth Bubby. He swung his lightsaber over his head as he screamed and charged his bubby.

Lucas seemed to be the type of kid to get ahead of himself very quickly but he was a kid and that was normal. ”Right, Jedi knight.” He said with a laugh, humouring the young ‘jedi’ in front of him. It was probably best for Jay if Chiron didn’t know that Jay and the rest of the cabin let him come here but Jay decided to convince himself that it was for the best that he came to the arena to train. Besides the big grin on Lucas’ face was adorable and it actually made Jay pretty happy that the kid was enjoying himself and not having a strop.

Jay had to think about how to handle this battle that was about to go down, he didn’t want to hurt Lucas so he definitely couldn’t use the bladed side of his side but the bottom of the hilt would also at least wind the boy. Since he was only 7 years old. Seems like the side of the spear would be the safest option to keep the battle as real as possible for Lucas. ”You’re quicker than I expected.” Jay let out, pretending to be startled as he got hit on the hip by the toy lightsaber. ”Good hit, but can you dodge a few?” He questioned as he stepped to the side, a distance away from Lucas as he spun his spear towards Lucas’ legs.

Lucas Skywalker grinned as he managed to hit Darth Bubby on the hip. "You gotta be faster than that!" he yelled as he got back into ready position. He thought about hitting his bubby some more, but decided he needed to be patient. He couldn't beat up Darth Bubby that much or else the real Luke Skywalker wouldn't have gotten his hand cut off. And that was kinda of gross and Lucas didn't know if he wanted a robot hand or not.

But Darth Bubby attacked and Lucas stumbled backwards a bit as he tried to avoid Bubby's lightsaber spear. It was aimed for his legs. He didn't want to have robot legs at seven years old! He managed to get his blade down enough to hit Bubby's spear before it made it to his legs.

Luckily the hit to his hip didn’t actually hurt too much for him to notice it but the temptation to be as fast as I could against Lucas was beginning to become hard to ignore. However Jay wasn’t going to do that, he’d end up forgetting Lucas is a lot younger than him and he’d probably never hear the end of it if he hurt him. ”Speed isn’t everything in fights. Use your brain.” Jay said with a smile, he hadn’t fought much and definitely wasn’t the most knowledgeable but he had some useful tips for fighting.

Jay grinned as Lucas Skywalker stumbled a bit but pulled his spear away quickly as it got deflected. ”Losing your balance can be bad, think of Obi and Anakin’s duel, when they were above the lava. Have a balance like theirs!” He announced encouraging as he decided to thrust his spear forwards to attack Lucas’ feet. He went for the front this time, just in between them just in case it wasn’t deflected and so it would hit the floor, rather than his feet.

"I am using my brain," called back to Darth Bubby. "I am using it right now!" He was thinking ahead, but only as ahead as a seven year old could get. So it was only one or two steps ahead, but he did have a definite goal: defeat Darth Bubby. And maybe get some candy afterwards and try to convince Chiron that he deserved big boy weapons like the rest of his bubbies.

But he couldn't think about that now, especially when Darth Bubby was going to chop off his feet! "Not my feet! I don't want to lose my feet to lava!" he cried out as he jumped backwards. He narrowed his eyes in intense concentration. "I'm gonna get you!" he cried out before he ran to attack his bubby.

Jay rolled his eyes at Lucas’ comment about using his brain, that comment was probably Jay’s fault. He should have worded it more suitable for a little kid. ”Okay then, good keep it up.” For once he didn’t actually know what to say something so he just went with the closest thing to encouragement he could give out. After all he was the bad guy in this battle and bad guys don’t help good guys.

Once Lucas jumped out of his spear’s reach, Jay shot him a nod as if to say that he had done good. He managed to keep his balance and he didn’t fall even after a couple of jabs. Jay was expecting him to at least have to put a hand on the floor but nothing. Impressive. ”You’ll never get me!” He called back in return as if he was about to make a run for it, and he decided to do just that. Turning round and taking a quick step, Jay purposefully stood on his own foot to give him an excuse to fall down. He let go of his spear and rolled onto his back, ”I surrender!” Holding his hands out to Lucas to stop the ‘onslaught’.

Lucas laughed evilly as he ran to attack his Cool Bubby. This was it. Lucas Skywalker was going to finish off Darth Bubby once and for all. And then, Chiron would give him big boy weapons like his siblings. Maybe he could go with a spear like Cool Bubby or maybe bow and arrows like his other siblings, but he wasn't sure. Maybe he could convince someone to make him a real lightsaber. A blue one like Luke Skywalker!

But his Bubby fell and he was about to finish him off with a final blow when he surrendered. "Aww..." Lucas said as he lowered his lightsaber and pouted a bit. He let his arms drop to the side as his lightsaber dragged on the ground. "I wanted to finish you off because you were a bad guy," he said before he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted some more.

Jay looked up to Lucas from the ground as Lucas seemed to pout. He shifted his position a bit so that he was sitting down rather than laying back, his spear lying by his side. ”Sometimes mercy is a good thing, if you kill every single animal, what makes you different from the sith?” Jay asked the young jedi with an eyebrow raised, glancing over Lucas’ shoulder slightly at the rest of the Apollo cabin members training away.

”You did good, I’ll put in a good word to Chiron next time I see him to let him know that you may be ready to handle real weapons, like the rest of us.” Jay continued on to the young boy as he rose up into a standing position and brushed off the dust that had appeared down his back. ”Since you defeated me and everything.” He decided to add on with a grin before picking up his spear, giving Lucas a friendly wink.

How dare his bubby not let him finish him off! He was a bad guy! How else were the bad guys like Darth Maul and Emperor Palpatine? The Jedis just didn't give them mercy... He continued to pout as he looked down at his cool bubby. He tried to reason with the boy, but Lucas was not having any of it. "But the bad guys need to die," he whined. "That's how they get rid of the bad guys. They don't have bad guy prisons for them."

But Cool Bubby said something that completely changed his mind. He looked down at him with wide eyes. "REALLY?" he yelled as he started jumping up and down. "YOU'LL TELL CHIRON THAT I AM A BIG BOY NOW? YOU'RE SO COOL!" He did a little fist pump in the air for celebration. "I GET TO USE A REAL WEAPON!"

It felt like Lucas did have a bit of Sith in him and it was definitely showing right now. At least he wanted to get rid of the bad guy for once and for all, it was an understandable case but mercy is an aspect every warrior or jedi needs to learn. ”Would Obi Wan execute an unarmed enemy? Would Master Yoda?” He then proceeded to ask him, trying to get him to think as if he actually was a young jedi training under the jedi council and how his masters would have thought of Lucas Skywalker ‘executing’ an unarmed sith.

The instant change in Lucas’ mood didn’t come as a surprise to him at all, he had witnessed it happen back in the cabin whenever skittles were involved. It was just lucky that his mood wasn’t going downhill because Jay didn’t think he had it in him to be able to deal with that at this exact moment in time. ”Yeah sure, why not?” Jay said with a grin, slightly leaning his body weight on his spear. ”I can’t control how Chiron reacts, however.” He said with a shrug, just to take the blame of himself if it goes wrong and Lucas gets banned from the training grounds or something.

Lucas continued to pout as he looked down at his cool bubby. Unarmed? He was trying to cut off his legs earlier! Lucas pointed to the spear with his free hand. "But you have a weapon," he whined before he put his hand down. "So I can finish you off since you're a bad guy. That's what the good guys do." He continued to pout before he finally let his lightsaber drop onto the ground of the arena. He sighed loudly before he muttered, "Yoda would let me do it..."

But his mood did lighten up at mention of getting a big boy weapon. That was the only thing he truly wanted. He wanted to be like his siblings and fight like they do. He smiled widely at his cool bubby. "HE HAS TO SAY YES!" he screamed as he continued to bounce around. "HE HAS TO SAY YES BECAUSE YOU TOLD HIM SO AND YOU'RE COOL!"
