Meeting Jay had been one of the best things that had happened to her in a long time. Tabitha had lots of friends, or at least acquaintances but it had been quite some time since she'd hit it off with someone right away like she did with the son of Apollo. Maybe it was because she'd desperatly needed a friend or maybe it was because of something else, she didn't really care why she was just glad she had a friend. Her long-lost brother'd decided to come back to Camp and he'd been an arse, which messed her up. It's been a few days since they talked and she was doing her best to avoid the Ares cabin and therefore Valentine because she knew that she would kick his balls again if she got the chance.

"C'mon you lazy buggers, move", the girl numbled and looked at her turtles. They looked up at her in sync as if they expected her to feed them again. She tapped on the ground with her fingers, trying to lure them like she did with her better brother's cat but it didn't do anything except for making her frustrated. Letting out a small sigh, Tabitha got up after laying the rest of the salad she'd gotten for the turtles underneath her bed. Of course, as soon as it was about food they moved. The girl rolled her eyes while she put on a pair of sneakers before turning to leave the cabin.

It was pretty clear where she'd go now, Tabitha headed straight for the Apollo cabin. A smile crept on her face, as she took the few steps to the door and she ran one hand through her hair before she knocked firmly. "Jayyyy, munchkin, you home?" She tilted her head and waited for an answer from inside of the cabin because she didn't feel like just entering, the last time she'd done that it had gone very wrong.

It had been a long time since Jay was able to be in the cabin on his own without at least Lucas being somewhere around but today Jay had managed to get out of training by saying he would tidy up the cabin. He had already tidied most of the inside but decided he needed a break from being inside and with all the mess he cleared up, he was quite exhausted. Jay got up from his bunk, which he had only just finished making, and went out the front door – jumping down the couple steps. It was winter but somehow it still seemed to be a pretty good day. Jay took in a breath of fresh air and went round the left side of the cabin, sitting down against the wooden wall of the cabin and being hidden in the shadow the cabin had casted.

He was hoping to see Tabitha today because he had grown quite a liking to the pretty ninja girl he met that one time at the climbing wall. She was fun and Jay liked someone who could hold their own when he threw a bit of banter there way and wasn’t easily upset. Besides, they have fun when they’re together and it was good that he had someone he was close to in the camp. Someone that wasn’t one of his siblings. In Jay’s opinion, Tabitha would have fitted in just fine with his friend group back at school so their friendship was a done deal.

As he was deep into relaxation world, Jay was brought back to reality as he heard a knocking noise, followed by a voice he knew all too well. The one person who could have made this moment better had come and answered his prayers. Jay leant to the side, looking up at the top step towards the cabin and saw her there. Tabitha. A smirk grew on his face as he leant back into the shade and took a glance around. ”Hmm…” He said to himself as he stood up quietly, trying to think of clever ways to make her jump and not end with him having a bloody nose. ”Perfect.” He whispered to himself as he found what he was going to do.

Jay kept out of sight and use the oncoming crowd of campers to disguise himself long enough to be behind Tabitha and out of her sight. As they got opposite the cabin’s door Jay split off from them, quickly but quietly approaching Tabitha. When he got to the top step, right up close behind her he wrapped his left arm round her waist lightly, placing his right hand slightly over her eyes, enough so that it wouldn’t panic her too much but enough to cover it. ”Munchkin?...” He said with a smirk, ”But yes I am home. What’s up beautiful?” Jay quickly continued on, his head to the left of Tabitha’s and a cheeky grin plastering his face.

Maybe Tabitha would have noticed the person approaching her when she wouldn't have been so focused on the cabin. She tried to listen on the door if there was anything moving inside but she didn't hear a sound. The girl was about to turn around and leave again, when she felt somebody wrap their arms around her. She jumped a little when she felt a hand covering her eyes and cursed herself internally for not paying attention. When she heard Jay's voice however, she relaxed a little and a smile crept on her face.

"Dude, I'm the ninja, you're a sweet lil' munchkin, you're not supposed to scare me", she said and turned her head a little, so she looked up at him. Acting as if the petname just went by unnoticed, she smiled at him mischievously but decided not to mock him with her teleporting. At least not right now as she kind of liked being wrapped in her friend's arms. "Oh, I just wanted to see if you're 'round and have time to hang out with me", she shrugged and looked up at him. "

Since he mixed in with the first group of campers that walked past, Jay received quite a few weird looks and even a couple people asking what he was doing but he just ignored them and continued with his plot. He was going to do this and he was going to succeed, he just hoped she wouldn’t teleport because he hates it when she did that. It confused him too much and it was like some supernatural styled stuff and Jay was still trying to figure out his powers and how to use them better. He knew now that he could control light but it was a lot easier said than done, especially with Jay’s attention span and there was no way in the Underworld that he was going to focus on anything other than Tabitha when she’s around.

As he wrapped his arms around Tabitha Jay felt her jump and let out a small laugh, he had succeeded in surprising her and it gave him an excuse to hold her in his arms. Something that he would always do at the slightest opportunity. When she relaxed and started speaking he removed his hand from her eyes, moving it down to her other hip as the other one was covered by his arm.”Well I’m sorry you made it so easy for me.” Jay said sarcastically with a grin, looking back at her. He missed this girl and he’s mainly reminded of it when they finally see each other again. ”Of course I have time, I got out training today by saying I’d tidy up. Besides, I’ll always have time for you.” Which was true, even if he didn’t he would make it. Extending his arm out towards the door in front of them, Jay twisted the door knob, opening the door as he stood there with his arm still round Tabs. ”Welcome to my domain.” He said teasingly, the extended arm pointing to the cabin.

"Oh, just wipe that grin off of your face, you dork", Tabitha said but there was the hint of a chuckle in her tone. She didn't even have to look at him, to know that he had that infuratingly cheeky yet adorable smile on his face. The corner's of her mouth curled up a little, when he said that he always had time for her. The girl's almost forgotten what it was like to have a friend that she could annoy 24/7 without them being grumpy or something. Call her needy or not, she liked that thought. "Woah, I'm honored, buddy", she smirked before ducking away underneath his arm to enter the cabin, when he'd opened the door.

She glanced around, Apollo was one of the few cabins where she hadn't been yet. It was shinier on the outside than it was on the inside and she knew that it was better to stay out when you didn't want the seven year old terror to kill you. Especially when it was her siblings who supplied him with firecrackers. "This is one of the tidiest cabins I've seen around Camp and I've been here for like eight years now", she noted and turned back to her friend with a small smile still playing on her lips. "Soooo, we have this all to ourselves till your sibs are done with training?"

Jay stayed looking into Tabitha’s eyes even if she wasn’t returning the gaze. They really were pretty and he couldn’t actually help smiling. ”Grin? I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve got my poker face on. Lady Gaga style.” He said with a small laugh, his head lowering as he laughed, ending up by the side of hers before raising it back up. Buddy? Did Jay just get friendzoned? He wasn’t entirely sure himself, he knew that she was the type of girl that probably would use that as a nickname for someone but Jay couldn’t help but linger on it. There was definitely something about this girl that affected him so much and Jay didn’t think it was in a friendly way. More like a she’s fricking beautiful and amazing kinda way. ”Yeah, thanks pal.” He replied quietly, to himself as he watched her enter the cabin.

After closing the door behind him, Jay looked over at Tabitha as she seemed to inspect the cabin as if it was a whole new world. ”I should hope so, I spent my morning cleaning it.” He replied with a small laugh as he walked past her, slumping on his bunk and propping his pillow up. The pillow allowed his upper body be tilted up as if he was sitting so he could look at Tabitha easily. He stretched his legs out across the bunk and rested one upon the other, ”Yep all to ourselves. Just the two of us…we can make it if we tryyy~.” Jay replied to her with a grin, softly singing the last line playfully. He’d never really sung either so he wasn’t sure if he got his father’s abilities or if he sounded more like a dying cat. Now that was a good song and singing it was definitely worth a little insult from his main girl who was still standing in front of him.

Tabitha looked around and couldn't help but notice everything that had at least some value in the cabin. It wasn't like she planned to take anything, but it was just the routine for her when she discovered a new place. When she heard Jay's voice behind her, she turned around to see him sprawled out on his bed. For a moment she looked at him and smiled because she really liked the sound of his laugh. In the next sentence, he randomly bursted into song and the girl raised an eyebrow. "Not trying to let you down, but this is not Camp Rock, sweetie", she noted and shook her head trying to hide the smirk. It wasn't weird that he could actually sing, he was a child of Apollo but somehow she still hadn't expected it from her friend.

She walked over to the bed and just sat down, leaning with her back against his side, her head on his chest. It definetly had its perks to be short. "Any super amazing plans what we could do in our alone time?", Tabs asked and turned her head a bit to look up at Jay and winked. "Or just amazing... or plans. I don't care, I'm up for anything as long as I don't have to get up because you're super comfy."

Jay finished off the little one-line song that counted as a pun to Tabitha and dropped his jaw playfully, pretending to be shocked with a hand on his heart. ”I’m at the wrong camp. There must be a mistake?” Jay replied as he continued on the shocked expression in his voice. ”Maybe I was meant to be on something like the X factor. Rather than here, which is like we’re stuck in medieval times.” And medieval times sucked to be honest. He missed being at school with his friends and being in normal 21st century civilisation. The best thing about this camp was the pretty girl in front of him.

His bright eyes followed Tabitha walking over towards his bunk and as she sat down, leaning herself on him. When she sat down and leant on him, Jay shifted a little to support her body and placed his right arm across her belly with his hand on her hip loosely. ”Well to me, anything with you in it is amazing.” He replied to her, his voice slightly quiet but a smile being a constant part of his face. The wink made Jay’s heart skip a beat, jesus she was hot and she was leaning on him. He was practically in heaven…Or Olympus. ”I’m content with this, we could watch a film too because then we wouldn’t have to move…Or we could just talk.” He continued on as he watched Tabitha’s eyes, he found it easy to get lost in them – they were so pretty. But something was blocking a clear view of her eyes, a strand of her hair. Bringing his right hand up from her hip, Jay gently brushed the strand of hair out of her face and behind her ear with his hand lingering slightly on the side of her face before finding its way back to her hip.

Tabitha looked up at Jay and shook her head slightly. "Actually, it's ancient. That's older than medieval", she noted, growing up with her brother she had some knowledge of history because he'd never talked about anything else. Her bedtime stories had been about the ancient times and then the medievals and all that crap and by now she was glad that she was only confronted with greek mythology here. Still she couldn't let that statement just be because... Reasons.

She turned her head a bit to look at him. "Oh, c'mon you're pretty amazing by yourself", Tabs said with a small smirk on her face and wanted to say something about his suggestions but her thoughts seemed to just freeze, when his hand brushed her cheek. Her eyes met his, when she tried to say something but her concentration was gone. "Maybe we could do this." The girl had no idea what she was doing when she sat up a bit and pressed her lips on Jay's. A second later she pulled away and scurried away a little, falling off of the bunk.

What the hell was she thinking? Okay, probably nothing as always but... "F***, I'm sorry", she apologised immediatly and looked up at her friend. Nice one Tabs, run around kissing your friends, that's totally what you should do, she scolded herself mentally and considered teleporting away but scratched that idea again, trying not to look as confused as she was because she really wanted to kiss him again but she knew that she really shouldn't. "So, so sorry", she muttered.

Jay found himself rolling his eyes playfully at Tabitha’s correction. They were basically the same thing they all used swords and horses and shit so it was basically the same. ”Sorry nerd.” Jay replied with his eyebrow still raised at the comment. It didn’t offend him that she corrected him but it did take him off guard a little, but it only meant that he could now tease her about being a ‘know-it-all’ or being a nerd. Anything he could use to make fun of her, he would be quick to take full use of the opportunity. Tabitha as a nerd, glasses would look hot on her for sure.

”I am pretty amazing.” He bigged himself up with his left hand rose slightly as he looked up to the sky, as if he was hailing himself as a celebrity. A celebrity that all people knew he should be, because let’s face it. He’d be a great celebrity. Jay’s eyes glanced down at her lips as she sat up, he wasn’t too sure what she was doing and his heart skipped a beat once she pressed her lips against hers. Was this his first kiss? If it was it was great and he wanted it to last forever. His lips returned the kiss as he used his hand on her hip to keep her there slightly, a tight grip on it with his thumb rubbing it slowly.

When she backed away from him Jay looked down, wiping his lip slightly with his hand before clearing his throat. ”Don’t be sorry…don’t ever be sorry for that…” Jay replied up to her, saying the second bit with a smile on his face as he looked down at her on the floor. Finally deciding to go over to her Jay slid off his bunk and crouched by the top half of her body. ”First kiss…And gods was it with the best girl…” He said quietly to her, offering his hand out to her so he could help her back up and hopefully go back to the bed or something more relaxing than the floor.

It was one of those rare moments where Tabitha didn't know what to do or what to say or what to think, so she just kept quiet and looked up at Jay waiting for a reaction. The girl bit her lip a bit, when she heard him clear his throat. She didn't notice that she was holding her breath for a few moments, until she finally heart his voice and took a deep breath. With a slight shake of her head, she looked at him and tears welled up in her eyes. She wasn't even sure why exactly but maybe it was because of the relief she felt.

First kiss. Her eyes widened a bit and she looked up at him. "F-first.. kiss?", she asked hesistantly and looked at his hand.Tabs didn't really have the intention to steal this boys first kiss, but how could one blame her? She liked shiny things. Then she stared at his hand for a moment and frowned before she realised that she was on the floor and he wanted to help her up. She took his hand and pulled herself up again, even the small touch of their hands was sending a shiver down her spine right now. Her thoughts were a mess and she looked up at Jay. "That was your first kiss", she repeated before she sobbed quietly.

A few tears streamed down her cheeks and it was really hard for her to keep her composure right now so she couldn't help it. She had no idea why exactly she was crying but she knew that no matter what he said, she shouldn't have kissed him. She tried to wipe them off quickly and bit her lip again. "Kiss me again, please", she said under her breath, her tone almost pleading.

The fact that she was so taken back by the fact he had never kissed anyone made Jay slightly anxious, he had always been concerned about what people would think when they found out he was a virgin or that he had never kissed a girl or even held hands. That was until he met the teary eyed girl in front of him that is. She had been the first girl to show any real attention to him and that was great. Once she took his hand he helped to lift her up to her feet gently, keeping hold of her hand as she got up. He held her hand down in between them both by their side, ”Yes… that was my first…Why?” Jay asked her, looking into her teary eyes as he bit his bottom lip. Did that mean it was a bad kiss? Did she not actually want to even kiss him and felt bad for taking the first kiss for something she didn’t even want? Jay couldn’t deny that this kiss wasn’t what he had wanted to happen since the day he met her, so he would just feel bad if Tabs only kissed him out of ‘the moment spur’.

Jay watched the tears fall down her soft cheeks as he edged a bit closer to her, swaying forwards before lifting his hand up and wiping the tears with his thumb before dropping his hand back. He decided to wait for her to say the first words as he wanted to know what she was thinking. He wanted to make sure she would be okay and that these tears were tears of happiness because that’s all he wanted for her, happiness. She was probably his closest friend and if nothing came from this kiss, he’d be okay with that. As long as she was. Kiss her again? Those words were like pure gold in his ears and he didn’t even hesitate to process them before he let go off her hand, placing his palm on her cheek along her jaw bone as he leant down quickly and pressed his lips against hers. He used his thumb to gently wipe off any of the tears that dampened her cheek as he kept his eyes closed and lips against hers.

Seconds turned into minutes and hours in those few moments after Tabs told him to kiss her again. What if he'd refuse to because of her reaction? What if she messed up now like she'd done so many times before? She felt bad in those moments because she wasn't sure if she'd just wasted his first kiss. First kisses were kind of a big deal, weren't they? But the second their lips touched again, the insecurity was gone. It wasn't just as rushed as the first one and it made her realise that she didn't just like kissing - what she knew she did - but that she also liked to kiss Jay. She had yet to figure out if she wanted to continue kissing him though...

As she pulled away, the tears still run over her face and she was left speechless for a moment. Clearing her threat, Tabs eyed him closely, trying to take in this moment before it went away. "So... were those good first kisses?", she asked when she got at least a bit of her composure back and the small smirk crept back on her face. "Your lips are like really soft", she added in a numble and glanced at his lips again but decided not to go for another one because she wanted to give her friend a break and time to react to this.

As the two continued to lock lips Jay kept his eyes closed tight, he couldn’t believe this was even happening. It was like he was in a dream except it was all real. Her lips against his was what he was actually feeling. They had been close to each other and cuddled before but nothing quite matched the rush he felt in this moment in time. The feelings he had always expected he had for Tabitha were slowly becoming more and more real with every second passing he could feel her grabbing his full attention. Except it had always been that way and he knew it had.

Jay kept his head where it was with his forehead leant forward bringing his chin to his neck slightly. His eyes were closed until he had felt that she wasn’t as close to him anymore which was when he opened them and looked at her. He paused for a second before he could think of the words to describe what he had felt in these past few minutes. ”Something like that…” Jay replied with a small smile, watching her face carefully as she began to smirk again. ”Thank you…I grew them myself.” He replied teasingly to her comment about his lips, raising an eyebrow to add to the cheekiness.

And there he was again, that was the Jay she usually knew not the guy she'd just left speechless because of her kiss. Tabitha punched his shoulder lightly and shook his head. "You're a dork", she grinned and bit her lip. As she did so, she thought about the kiss for the umpteenth time in the last few moments. Right now she was in a mental debate with herself whether or not she should regret it. She wasn't entirely sure about the way she felt about him. Yeah, she really liked him. No, she wasn't sure if it was only in a friendly way or more. The thought that she maybe just took a first kiss she didn't really want hurt.

The brunette decided that it would be best to just move on as if nothing had happened for the moment. Maybe not only for the moment, maybe for forever. Some day when they were dead and met again in Hades they could talk about this kiss, right? Sweet procrastination. "You said we could watch a movie, earlier... let's do that", she tried to change the topic and wiped away the last few of her tears and flopped down on his bed again.
