Dakota told herself to snap out of it several times. Her and Ash, whatever they were, were over. She didn't want to settle down and be all serious in a relationship. And Ash had another idea of them and it was almost clear to Dakota. They weren't compatible even if she thought he was different and he was a great kisser... They weren't compatible and that's was it.
But she felt like crap. She felt like she was in a constant hangover. It was days, maybe weeks since she last saw Ash, but she was still feeling like this. They weren't compatible. She needed to snap out of it. It was over. There was no point in dwelling in the past. But she still couldn't get over it.
So she threw herself into her job at the infirmary, again. She didn't want to see Blue Sky, not when she was still strongly associated with a lot of memories with Ash. Maybe eventually she'd see her, but not now. But she threw herself into her work to the point of being exhausted. She only got a few hours of sleep now, which wasn't normally what she got. On this particular day, she was in the infirmary looking completely tired and frazzled. There was definite bags underneath her eyes and she mind was still foggy. But she would snap out of this... eventually.
