Jen was fairly certainly that one of them was not going to survive the day if this Kaylee girl stuck around for much longer. Either Jen was going to lose a temper that already being pushed to its limits or she would actually physically die from the girl’s overabundance of happiness. Jen wasn’t sure if that was possible but she didn’t want to press her luck. Best to separate herself from this girl as quickly as possible that way neither of them were put in mortal danger.
Fortunately it seemed like Kaylee was willing to let her go and Jen saw her opportunity to make a get away. “Yeah, yeah I’m sure I’ll be peachy keen in no time. I can find it though. I’ve been there enough…” She said thinking only to get away as quickly as possible. However, as she tried to struggle to her feet her legs went all noodlely and instead of standing like she intended she sat back down hard with a groan. “Well...Isn't that a son of a bitch? Maybe I’ll just sit here for a while.” This was going to be harder than she thought.

"Oh no," Kaylee said as she looked down at Jen and blinked a couple of times. She was in worse shape than she originally thought. She couldn't use her legs! Was that what drinking did to people besides get hang overs? Did it make their legs stop working? Maybe. Maybe that was another reason why she should stay at home and watch cat videos all day. She moved in closer to Miss Grumpypants as she knitted her eyebrows together. "Do you need help getting to the infirmary?" she asked as she moved to position herself so she could become a human crutch. "I can help you get there. Maybe the sick bay can help with your legs too."

'Pluto's icy cold cock, why did I have to get so drunk?' Jen lamented as she sat dizzy and groaning on the ground. This was all pretty normal stuff. She could make it to the infirmary and finally get away from the little sun drop she just needed to sit for a minute and take things slower the next time she tried. It wasn't that she couldn't walk just that walking was hard and Jen wasn't really in the mood to put in that much effort.
Kaylee apparently had other ideas though and before Jen knew it the other girl was moving around to help her out. "I'm fine...really." Jen protested but she wasn't fine, not really, and very likely she would stumble back to the barracks to wear out the effects of the previous night's party as soon as she was out of sight if Kaylee let her.
Realizing though that she probably wasn't doing a very good job at convincing the other girl Jen groaned internally. She was stuck whether she wanted to be or not and it looked like she was just going to have to deal with this Kaylee annoyance until the girl was satisfied. "You're really not going to let this go are you?"

Kaylee was trying to help, but she didn't know if Miss Grumpypants Jen knew that she was trying to help. It was in Kaylee's nature just to help others, even if they were a little or a lot reluctant to accept that help. She looked down at Jen and blinked a couple of times as the girl tried to convince her that she was fine. Kaylee shook her head as she looked down at her. "I don't believe it," she said calmly, but her voice had that hint of perkiness in it. She looked at her as she raised her eyebrows at her.
"Not really," she replied to her question. "I know you need the sick bay and you need to get there and so far you can't get there yourself. I can help you there if you want me to."

It was just as she had feared. Jen didn’t know what she had done to piss her mom off but today definitely wasn’t turning out to be her lucky day. Still, she guessed things could be worse and even though the cheerful little sprite was probably going to make her sicker than she already was at least she was trying to help. That being the case Jen supposed she could cut Kaylee a little slack, not much because she would be damned straight to Hades if this girl was going to try and worm her sugary sweet way into Jen’s heart, but definitely a little.
“Alright, alright don’t rush me.” Jen said grumpily and then added in a defeated tone of voice. “Fine. I need some help getting to the sick bay if you'll help me. You better not make me regret this though.” Squinting to get a good lock on the girl Jen held out her arms for Kaylee to help her to her feet. Who knows, maybe Fortuna was trying to tell her to keep an open mind or something when it came to accepting help.

Kaylee patiently waited as Miss Grumpypants Jen made up her mind. But she stayed in position before Jen finally decided to accept her help. Kaylee crouched down a bit as she positioned herself as a crutch as slowly got Jen onto her feet. She knew that Jen's legs probably were still probably not steady. But Kaylee was very patient and calm getting her onto her feet, but soon enough they were both upright for now.
Kaylee looked over at Jen as she gave her a bright smile. "You ready to head over to the sick bay?" she asked in her normally cheery voice.

Jen waited patiently for the girl to kneel down close enough so that she could help herself up and with some effort and help from Kaylee she was finally able to get to her feet. Her legs felt wobbly under her at first and she didn’t know if they would be able to support her even with Kaylee’s help but after standing for a few moments and taking a few breaths to steady herself she was feeling at least marginally like a human being again. Still, that didn’t stop Kaylee from being her cheerful, super happy self.
“Sweet gods of Olympus girl.” Jen said indignantly as Kaylee smiled her smile at her. The daughter of Fortuna groaned and shut her eyes as she turned away from the girl. “What do you do, brush with Jupitor’s lightning bolts or some shit like that? You could blind someone with those pearly whites.”[/b] Jen blinked a few times as she considered the girl’s next question. She still didn’t want to go to the sick bay but she was stuck now. Oh well, maybe she would get lucky and would meet a child of Bacchus along the way. A little hair of the dog that bit her would probably set her closer to right than anything else but she was sure that was asking too much. “Alright come on. We better get going. Besides, I’m sure that you have to get back to picking daisies or holding hands with bunny rabbits or something.” With that Jen hoped she remembered how to walk and took one wobbly step forward.

Kaylee looked shocked for a moment as she blinked a couple of times as she looked at Jen. Was her smile really that blinding? She did brush her teeth everyday, but not to the point where they would have blinded anyone. Her smile fell a bit as she gave Jen a slight smile with no teeth showing. In a way, Kaylee looked like a hurt puppy.
She didn’t say anything at first as she helped Jen walk over to the sick bay. Well, Kaylee did the walking while Miss Grumpypants more or less hobbled. She looked over at Jen and raised her eyebrows when she said that Kaylee had better things to get back to. “Bunnies don’t like having their hands held,” she said very seriously as she turned her head so she was looking forward. “They’re quite grumpy when it comes to that sort of thing.”

As they walked Jen began to get her legs back and even though her head hurt like a son of a bitch she found the action did serve to clear her mind a little despite the fact that she still felt like shit and probably looked half as good. Hangovers, she thought in a spectacular moment of philosophical clarity, were like being drunk without the mind numbing effects of the alcohol to help you have fun. They were a major drag and even if Kaylee was loud and happy and annoying it had turned out pretty good that the girl had stumbled across her laying in the grass. If she hadn't stuck around to help then Jen would probably still be sitting there and feeling pretty horrible.
She did notice a kind of change in Kaylee as they walked though. Maybe she had finally decided to calm the junk down but she didn't seem to be as cheerful as before. That was good and Jen found the the toned down sweetness refreshing but it was a pretty marked change in the girl's attitude. Still, that wasn't really Jen's problem to worry about. "You would know that wouldn't you?" She said as she considered the girl's information about bunnies. "Well whatever it is you do I'm sure it's better than this. Certainly not vanquishing your enemies on the field of battle I'd imagine." Surely the girl wasn't a legionnaire but stranger things had happened. Who knew, she might be dealing with the second coming of Julius Caesar here.

Kaylee remained pretty subdued and calm as she helped Miss Grumpypants walk over to the sick bay. Maybe she wasn't so grumpypants as Kaylee was Miss Sunshinepants? Kaylee didn't know and she didn't have the time to ponder over it. Then again, Kaylee had other things to worry about, like cat videos and when she was going to see Tristan again. Not about Miss Grumpypants. Nope.
She looked over at Jen as she raised her eyebrows. Was she the resident bunny expert at camp? She thought everyone knew that they didn't like hand-holding. She was about to say something about it when Jen continued talking. Kaylee shrugged her shoulders. "I really don't like war or the war games we do, even if my mom is an important part of them. I'd rather vanquish chocolate to my stomach instead of my enemies to their death."

Jen gave a little chuckle when Kaylee mentioned fighting. She wasn't sure who the girl's mom was but it didn't come as a surprise that Kaylee wasn't the biggest fan. It did make Jen wonder how the girl would get along in a real fight though. It wasn't like she could make everyone stop in the middle of a battle and holds hands and sing Kumbaya after all. What exactly did she do? Jen couldn't be sure but she said a silent prayer real quick to her mom that she would never find herself standing in a battle line and see Kaylee there beside her.
"So what do you do? Some kind of medic or something? Surely you're not a fighter no matter who your mom is." If the girl was a legionnaire that meant she more than likely fought in some capacity but Jen just didn't see it. She didn't know who would give Kaylee a sword or spear to begin with but it just didn't seem like a good idea. Set her free to frolic on the battlefield as a distraction maybe but surely not an honest to gods soldier. That was just too much.

"I'm the person who holds the flag," Kaylee said with a bit of a shrug. It wasn't as glorious as being on the front lines and she would honestly pass out on the sidelines with being a medic. Her cohort figured that she was pretty good at carrying their flag as long as she didn't get distracted. And after her many years at camp, they had given her an almost completed list of things she couldn't get distracted by. But it was an important job or at least that was what her cohort claimed. "I think they only want me on the battle field because my mom's Victoria and she has that entire glory over death deal going on." She shrugged her shoulders as she kept walking Jen to the sick bay. "I don't why it has to be me when I'm pretty sure my siblings are a bit better."

The person who held the flag. Well didn’t that just make Jupitor shit lightning? Jen had thought that Kaylee’s cohort would have been best served setting her free on the battlefield to draw enemy fire but she hadn’t expect any of the legionnaires to actually have the balls to do it. Good for them…or at least that’s what she thought until Kaylee explained who her mother was then it all began to fall into place and Jen couldn’t help but chuckle.
“So you’re mom’s Victoria. No wonder they keep you around with how superstitious the legion gets. Well I guess as far as moms go that’s not so bad. I mean you could be related to Cardea. I think she’s the goddess of door hinges or some glorious thing like that. Now there’s something to brag about.” Jen was starting to move a little easier now and even though her head still hurt like a son of a bitch things were definitely looking up. Even Kaylee wasn’t getting on her nerves as much which was nothing short of a Christmas miracle in Jen’s book. “Fortuna for me. Guess both of our moms get caught up in all that Roman superstition stuff. Though as far as luck goes I think I got on mom’s bad side this morning…or is it afternoon. I’m still not sure.”

"She's not so bad," Kaylee agreed with Miss Grumpypants Jen for at least once this morning. "But... she does come with a lot of expectations. A lot of them..." Kaylee didn't understand a lot of those expectations. She didn't want to be in the war games, but the dumb superstition about her forced her cohort to put her on the field. And since Kaylee wasn't the greatest fighter, they had her hold the flag. "Maybe it wouldn't be so bad ti be a child of Cardea. At least you could close doors on people if they were mean to you."
But she looked over at Jen as she raised an eyebrow at her. A daughter of Fortuna? That was interesting. "It's almost noon," Kaylee said with a slight head nod as she faced forward again. "But maybe you are lucky or else you'd be laying in that garden all day without any help."

“Well obviously she’s not spreading them enough. When’s the last time you heard of a demigod descendant of Cardea anyways? Maybe she’s too concerned with making sure doors open right to worry about fucking everything that moves like ol’ papa Juitor.” Jen chuckled a little before a stab of pain caused her to wince a little and her laughed died off in a little moan of pain. “Yeah I’m talking about you ya codgerly old bastard. Now leave my head alone.” It hurt to laugh but at least she was getting her vulgar sense of humor back a little.
“Noon? Gods that must have been some party last night.” Jen wished she could remember how it ended but at least she had a good time. Next time though she was making sure that she had a boy to go home with. At least that way she could wake up in a comfy bed...at least she hoped she would have enough sense to make it to a bed. “I’d gotten up eventually. I’m hung over not dead even if I look it. Besides, there’s always the chance some hot Roman boy would have come across me and taken me back to his place to take care of me.” Jen shrugged a little. “I am a daughter of Fortuna after all.”
