Wake up call | Hailey

[Hailey Nichols]

"A few more clothes?" Hailey chuckled as she shook her head. "I guess you'll have to live with the disappointment for a little bit." Hailey knew that Theo liked seeing her without her clothes on and she did the same with him. However, she needed to get out, despite how much fun they had together in his room along with hers. She moved to sit up and grab more clothes so she could get completely dressed when she felt a tug on her shirt. She chuckled a bit as she looked over her shoulder at him. "I don't know," she said with a bit of a smirk. "It's quite comfy. I just might as well claim it. It's quite a comfy shirt."

She finally got up from the bed and grabbed her clothes that were scattered across the room. But once she was fully dressed, she braided her hair as she looked over at Theo and smirked. "Are you ready to get going?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow at him.

“Well then I suppose I’ll let you hang on to my quite comfy shirt for the time being.” He said as he watched her get out of bed. As it turned out he still got a bit of a show anyways. Theo laid back on his pillow and watched her as she made her way around the room gathering and putting on her clothes. It wasn’t as good as if she had been topless as well but he wasn’t going to complain as he still got to see a good portion of her as she dressed. When she was done she took the time to braid her hair and that was something else he watched finding it interesting how much care she took.

When she was finally done she looked at him and ask if he was ready. In answer Theo hopped up from bed and went across the room to join her. With a smirk he took Hailey’s hands and pulled her to her feet up into another kiss that was a little longer this time. When it was finally over he broke away and gave her a wink. “Now we are I think. Come on bunny girl let’s see what we’ve been missing out on this morning.” With that Theo led her outside.

Hailey smiled to herself as Theo said she could keep his quite comfy shirt for the time being. Would she ever return it to him? Probably not, but that was something that he didn't need to know. At least, not yet. She knew he was watching her as she got dressed and that didn't bother her much. She already seen her undressed and even helped her get to that state, but it wasn't a big deal watching her get dressed.

She watched him get off the bed and walk over to her before she pulled her into another kiss. She smiled against his lips as she kissed him back before he pulled away. She smiled at him as she tucked a loose strand behind her ear. "Let's go," she agreed as she followed him outside. And it was a good thing that they had decided on a walk today, because it was a really nice day out. Hailey knew she enjoyed soaking up the sun on her skin. Being out in the sun now definitely beat when she was a jackalope with all that fur on her.

Theo didn’t really have anywhere particular that he wanted to go. Rather he just wanted to go somewhere with Hailey. The girl was fun to be around and Theo enjoyed spending time with her whether catching a bite to eat, playing ‘board games’ in their rooms or just walking around like they were now. That being the case he decided to just take it all in and enjoy the time that they were sharing together.

“Hey at least we have great weather today.” He commented as he stretched while they walked together. “Couldn’t ask for a better day don’t you think?” Since Hailey had slept in a little the camp was already wide awake and bustling with activity. That didn’t bother Theo too much even though he wasn’t all about camp spirit like some of the other demi gods. He had a hot girl by his side and if others around camp saw them together what harm could it do? A few rumors always made things more interesting especially when they were pretty close to the truth. “So bunny girl how have you been making it really? I know we haven’t talked about it much but you’ve had some pretty big changes recently. Just want to make sure you’re still adjusting okay.”

"It is a really nice day out," Hailey agreed as she crossed her arms over her chest as she walked along Theo. They really couldn't have asked for better weather for a walk and it was just nice to be out and about and soaking up the sun. She could tell some of the campers were giving her strange looks and whispering among themselves. Hailey was no stranger to the camp rumors, especially since she came back into her human form, but it still unnerved her slightly as they gossiped.

But she was pulled away from her thought as Theo started talking to her. She looked up at him as she shrugged a bit. They hadn't really talked much and what they did vocalize weren't really complete sentences. "I guess I'm adjusting okay," she said. "I mean... I think Hannah's out for a little bit and my nose won't stop twitching... and camp won't stop gossiping, but that's old news." She shrugged again. "But I think I'm adjusting pretty well to being a human again."

"What's wrong with your nose?” He said with mock indignation. “I happen to think it's very cute and as an added bonus it makes you blush something fierce." Theo smiled. He fully expected to get a blush out of her now. He was pretty good at that after all. Still, the nose twitch thing was pretty adorable. It would be a shame for it to go away now after it was the only way he had known her to be. “As for your sister I hope we’ve taken her down a few notches.” He would have said more but he didn’t want to bring up that mistake again. They were past that now and the sooner they could put Hannah out of their minds the better.

Theo could see that what the other campers were saying about them was getting to her but Hailey seemed to be handling it well. Hopefully they would be able to get her to stop caring about what everyone else was thinking but Theo imagined that would take some time. Still, there was no reason he couldn’t try and make some progress now. “I do like you being human.” He said and gave her a wink. “I wouldn’t be too worried about what other people think though. We could really give them something to talk about if you want.”

Did he really think that her twitching nose was something cute? It wouldn’t surprise her with how many times he managed to make her blush, but she still didn’t like it. It was just… weird… But, of course, he managed to make her blush once again and her nose was twitching along with it. She covered it up with her hand as she glanced away for a moment. At least it was the least of her problems compared to Hannah. She had a feeling that Theo had given her more than just food poisoning, but she wasn’t going to confront him about it.

“Give them something to talk about?” Hailey asked as she turned around to raise her eyebrows at Theo. Was he really serious about that idea? “Do you really want to give the rumor mill more fodder to work with? They already have quite a few rumors about us already and even more about me.”

"Well," He said thoughtful as he considered her comment. "The way I see it people are going to talk whether you want them to or not. It's just a fact of life really. People like to gossip and the juicier they can make it then the more attention it gets them. Me? I've never put much stock into what of people say about me. I know who I am and nothing anyone else says about me is going to change that." He paused here and grinned at her. "That said it's kind of fun to play around with the rumor mill and watch how they run when they get something new to talk about don't you think?"

Theo walked a little closer to her and looked her over. "You're not really worried about them are you Hailey? I know it's annoying but it's not like they can say anything to effect us bunny girl." Reaching over he ruffled her hair playfully. "I say let em talk. Besides, being notorious is a lot more interesting than being one of those boring couples that no one ever thinks about."

Hailey was bothered by the rumor mill of camp slightly, but she also knew that there was nothing she could really do about it. She tried to ignore the talk, but it was hard to do so sometimes with some of the ridiculous things that they managed to come up with. Then again, it was probably thanks to Theo why some of these rumors got so out of control, but it seemed like something he would enjoy.

“I wish they'd have something better to talk about,” Hailey said with a shrug before she scrunched up her face as he ruffled her hair. She batted his hands away as she went to smooth her hair back down. “What would you add to the rumor mill?” she asked as she raised an eyebrow at him in curiosity. “There hasn't been a good pregnancy rumor in a while.”

Theo stopped in his tracks the moment he heard about the pregnancy rumor idea. There was a mischievous smile on his face and he was looking at the Hephaestus girl with something like admiration. "Hailey, that's quite devious of you. I've got to say I am very impressed." He chuckled. "You're right though. There's nothing that can get people talking like a good pregnancy scare. Probably wouldn't even have to work hard to get them to believe it. Just run off one morning and I bet you could have half the camp thinking it was morning sickness by the afternoon. Now that would make them jump I bet.”

Theo continued to look at her for a moment grinning widely at her and then wrapped an arm around her waist to puller her closer as they resumed walking. "A pregnancy scare. Such a naughty little bunny." He chuckled again shaking his head. "I just keep finding new things to like about you." He leaned down and kissed her forehead and they kept walking.

Hailey stopped alongside Theo as she raised her eyebrows at him. She wasn't quite sure how he would take to the pregnancy rumor idea, but once she saw that smile on his face, she smirked along with him. She figured now that she was going to take control of her life that she had to be in charge of everything that affected her, including the rumors. Besides, it would be funny to see how people would react to a former hunter potentially pregnant after being hunter for a few weeks. That would get a lot of people riled up.

She shrugged her shoulders as she chuckled a bit. "Ya know, I did stay in the Hermes cabin for a few years before I was claimed. Some of it might've rubbed off on me." She leaned into Theo a bit as he pulled her in closer as they continued walking. "It shouldn't be that hard to act nauseous... or I could find something that gives me nausea. Either way, the camp will be in an uproar."

“You might be on to something with that Hermes idea. I’m sure you picked up on a few tricks and I have always admired the work of the Hermes kids. There’s some folks that really know how to take things easy.” As they walked side by side Theo thought he was developing a new appreciation for Hailey. This was a bold new side of her that he wasn’t that used to seeing and the more he listened to her talk about this new rumor idea the more he liked what he heard. Maybe he was just finally getting to know the real Hailey and she had been like this all along but whatever the case he was glad to see her come out of her shell just a little bit.

“Well I wouldn’t go so far as to really make yourself sick. Rumors spring up surprisingly easy around here. You’d be surprised how far just acting a little different would go. I bet if you just ran off at unexpected times or started acting like you had something to hide you would have everyone talking even without actually being sick. People see what they want to see and often times they want to see the worst. Really it doesn’t take that much effort.” Theo had spent a long time playing the rumor mill and cultivating the many, often mysterious, stories about himself. He liked to see people’s reaction to him no matter what they knew and this was right up his alley. Who knew, he might even have people thinking he cast some kind of spell of Hailey to get her to like him. Now wouldn’t that be interesting? “I think we’ll get a few laughs about it in any case and if things get serious enough to where someone decides to confront us about it then we’ll get the last laugh by getting to tell them it’s not true.” Theo chuckled and added. “I like sneaky side of you. I guess you’ve been around me too long if I’m starting to bring it out.”

Hailey didn't want to admit that she only picked up those few tips and tricks from the Hermes kids to keep up with Hannah. Her twin loved running around with the Hermes cabin before.... whatever happened to her happened. But Theo seemed impressed by her knowledge, so she kept her mouth shut. Besides, it livened up life with the hunters a bit. Hailey shrugged her shoulders before she said, “They're pretty handy.”

But onto the pregnancy scare idea. Theo said she didn't need to make herself physically nauseous, but she figured that she could commit to the act a little more if she did. “Oh, trust me,” she said with a smirk as she looked up at Theo. “I know how fast the rumors travel around here. Probably a little too well between my sister and this entire hunter ordeal.” She shrugged her shoulders as her smirk grew a little wider. “But I figure now is the perfect time to get revenge on the rumor mill.”

But she had to laugh. Did Theo result bring out her sneaky side? She rolled her eyes as she shook her head. “I think your ego is getting too big if you're thinking that.”

"Right you are Hailey. Having a few laughs at the expense of the rumor mill is never a bad thing and it's even better if you can share those laughs with someone else." There would be lots of laughs to be had, Theo had no doubt. There was nothing more embarrassing than thinking you had some dirt on someone only to come away looking totally shit faced when it turned out that information wasn't true. Hailey deserved a little revenge too for all those rumors that he was sure circled around her during her time as a jackalope. As such he could think of no better reward than them setting this firework off and then sitting back to watch the show.

"Me with an ego?" He said with mock indignation in his voice. "Whatever would make you think something like that my dear? Besides," He paused here to tickle very softly at her sides. It wasn't enough to send her into the fits he had given her earlier but he hoped he might get a few giggles out of her. He liked to hear her laugh after all and this was the perfect opportunity with her walking so close. "I think you might like it."

But did Hailey really deserved getting back at the rumor mill, even if she was adding her own rumor to it? Then again, she knew about the rumors that circulated when she was turned into a jackalope. Even though she wasn't a human, she could still understand what they said and some of the things they said were ranged from disrespectful to downright rude. Maybe it was a good thing. And Theo would be right there admiring their work. It couldn't have been a bad thing, right?

Hailey had to bite the inside of her cheek gently to keep from laughing from how Theo was reacting to her accusations. She had to keep her act up of being serious about his ego. Besides, everyone had a little bit of an ego. Theo's, however, could be easily argued that his was bigger than the normal person. Hailey was trying to hard to be serious that she didn't notice that his hands went from being on her waist to going into attack mode. Granted, the attack wasn't as bad as the one she had woken up to, but it was still enough to get her to giggle and squirm slightly in his arms. "What makes you think that?" she asked as she looked up at him and stuck her tongue out at him.
