Dirty Deeds Does Ocean Deep || KRAKEN ATTACK

Audrey slipped between another set of bushes as she snuck herself back towards camp. She kept glancing and checking herself that nobody was following her, but she couldn't help but shake the feeling that she was being watched. She grabbed the knives that were strapped to her ankle and pulled them out just as a boy called out to her. Her head sharply turned as she glared at the boy. It was him. The one who stole her deer. But now here they were in the midst of battle.

She chuckled to herself as she smirked a bit. "And what if I did?" she called out back to him. "What are you going to do about it? Your precious camp is in danger. Aren't you going to help it?"

Hitomi pushed herself through the water, willing the currents to show her a weak point. When the sword fell through the water, she balked. But the sword hadn't been aimed at her, and had lost momentum when it hit the water. She rolled her eyes. One of the other campers had thrown a sword at this thing? Really? She made a motion with her hand through the water, which was intended to spit the sword back on land. But as she floated there in the water, she realized that there was just too much monster under it for her to do much good down here. But she still had to try, and it didn't seem to have noticed her yet.

She tried to get up under the monster, where she figured it would be more sensitive. She got as close as she dared before she threw the spear, aiming at what looked like a tender spot at the base of one of the tentacles. She swam away as fast as the water would carry her and made her way to the shallow water, just as Daphne began calling for her.

"I'm here," she said, stepping out of the water and onto the grass, still dry. Was that one of the Poseidon abilities? She looked up at the monster's head and took a shaky breath. "Daphne, when I was in the air, I saw something," she said hesitantly. She should've known better than to even think the other Poseidon campers would look out for her. "It's Cody. He's the one who summoned that... that thing. He's on top of it." Her voice cracked when she finally said it, and she felt her cheeks go pink. Why was she so bothered by it? She knew trusting others only led to getting hurt. She forced whatever she was feeling about this away, and even her eyes hardened. Now she was glaring up at the beast. Of course, her spear had either found its mark and was now causing the monster a lot of pain, or it had missed entirely and was resting at the bottom of the lake.

Ash’s eyes narrowed on the girl. He knew she was behind this and she all but admitted it with her words. He didn’t know what the girl’s plan was but she was greatly mistaken if she thought that he couldn’t see through this attack to know that there was something bigger going on here. He could lend his skills with the bow to help the camp but the only way to really kill a snake was to chop off its head and this particularly snake had caused enough trouble for one life time.

Ignoring her question Ash raised his bow and aimed at her. “What’s your goal here? You don’t really think this attack will accomplish anything do you? Why summon a monster if you know it will be killed?” The girl would pay for the blood that was on her hands but Ash hoped he could get something out of her to find out what was really going on here. If not then there was no reason to stand here discussing the matter. He might as well kill her here and move on to hunting down the rest of the traitors.

Daven heard the cries from around camp and she was completely terrified to leave her cabin. The Kraken was back and the last time it had touched their shore, her brother died. It wouldn't have been a big deal this time around, but Cody wasn't dead. There was still a good chance that he could relive his death again. And that was something that was Daven was terrified to witness. It took her a good couple of minutes to muster up the strength to put on her armor and grab her bow and arrow before she ran out the door.

The monster looked like the one that was haunting her dreams. It was too surreal for her to completely take it all in, so she just went into survival mode. She had to make it out alive and keep camp safe before she could worry about Cody. She made it past the lake where she saw a bunch of Hermes kids before she froze. The Kraken was not alone.

"Cody..." she muttered once she saw her stepbrother on its back. Was he a traitor? Did he cause this? Her heart pounded in her chest as her mind raced before she pulled her bow and arrow off of her back. "WHAT ARE YOU STANDING AROUND FOR?!" she screamed at the Hermes kids before she turned her attention back to the Kraken and notched her arrow to take aim and its eye.

Cody? Daphne looked up at the creature and finally saw the boy riding it for the first time. Her eyes narrowed as a strong sense of betrayal washed over her. He led that monster back to their camp after what all it had done to them? It destroyed too much the first time around, but this time it was trying to destroy Daphne's home. And it was no wonder why the Zeus girl took it a little too personally.

Her look hardened before she tore her eyes away from Cody to look at Hitomi. "I want to try to electrocute the Kraken," she said calmly, but quickly just in case the Kraken tried to attack them since they were so close. "But it's in the sea which is your father's domain. I need your help so my powers hopefully work. Are you with me?" she asked as she offered a hand to Hitomi. It was a long shot, but it was the best chance they had killing the creature. And if Cody got hurt or killed in the process, then they had one less traitor to worry about.

Audrey had to laugh as the boy raised his bow and had it aimed right at her. "You think you're just going to kill me with a measly arrow?" she laughed as she straightened up and lifted her chin in haughtiness. "Pathetic. Just like the rest of the demigods here. Why do you think it's here? Do you know what the Usurper's are planning to do?" She lifted a hand as she pointed towards the Kraken. "That's for a clean slate. A clean slate of a world that's no longer controlled by the gods. Don't you see it?"

She laughed as she pulled a knife from underneath her shirt. "Too bad you'll never see that new world, won't you?" That's when she threw the dagger towards his direction before diving off to the side in case he had a smart idea of firing his bow right then and there.

Ash didn’t respond as Audrey started monologing. He wanted information and she was giving him more in her condescending remarks than he would have gotten if he would have captured her. If a clean slate was really the usurper’s end game then it at least told him one thing. They were probably all as delusional as this girl and there would be no reasoning with them. That being the case there was only one way to end this little rebellion and it started with this girl.

The decision was made but it was a moment too late. Ash saw the girl reach for her hidden blade and she was fast. Fortunately though Ash was fast too and he had the benefit of being prepared. He didn’t think, didn’t even second guess his actions, there was only one thing that was going to stop that blade and the boy’s hunter instincts did the work for him. As the girl threw her blade Ash’s bow dipped, the string gave a sharp twang and his arrow flew.

It was a one in a million shot but Ash was no ordinary archer. His arrow flew true striking the spinning dagger in midair and knocking both off course with a clang of metal. The whole exchange only took an instant but an instant was all the girl needed to dive off to the side. Ash didn’t waste any time either. He needed to move and he did so now drawing another arrow as he dashed for cover before the girl could throw another dagger. “It will take more than that monster to destroy this camp.” He said with a cool certainty as he dove behind a dumpster. “Your plans will fail and your little rebellion will be crushed.”

[MONSTER! RAWR!]

Why were they being so mean? She just wanted a snack and they had to fight back! She didn't like to play with her food, but that was looking like what she had to do. They were throwing sharp, pointy things at her! So rude! She had to teach them a lesson that they needed to be nice and be willing to be eaten. She cried out as she looked around. There was a couple of demigods that were next to her. They would make a good snack. She grabbed the blonde one with her tentacle and whipped her around as she cried out.

Daphne was too busy waiting on Hitomi's response that she didn't notice that the Kraken decided to go after her again. She felt something slimy wrap around her body and she screamed as she suddenly got whipped into the air. She screamed as she placed her hands on the Kraken. She knew she only had a matter of moments left before it decided she was going to be its latest snack. She would not be eaten and turn out eaten. She refused. She glared at Cody who was still on the monster's back before she decided she was going to take care of it one way or another. She closed her eyes and scrunched up her face as her skin electrified. But it wasn't the normal shock that she'd give to a human or demigod. Oh no, she mustered up all of her power to make sure that the Kraken got one, fatal shock.

It was deja vu all over again. The Kraken had grabbed a camper and was swinging her around in the air while her brother was on its back. Daven couldn't let it happen. She just couldn't. However, once she realized who it had grabbed, she knew there was an advantage. Daven aimed for a tentacle and let her arrow fly before she realized something. It was a Zeus girl and it looked like she was going to give the Kraken the shock of its life. And Daven knew one thing: water and electricity did not mix well and that Kraken was going to crash and hard. She turned on her heels as she started running and yelling at the other campers. "Retreat! RETREAT! KRAKEN'S GOING DOWN!" Daven knew one thing, she wasn't going to get squished by giant calamari.

[MONSTER! RAWR!]

She would show them. She would fling this demigod around and cry out and display its strength of power before she went on to eat it. A yummy demigod morsel. It sounded so good and it would taste so good. Except... they were being so mean to her! First there was an arrow in her tentacle and she shrieked, but the demigod she had... she was zapping her! She did not expect it at all as she felt an intense shock from her tentacles that traveled all the way through her body. One shock. That's all it took. The Kraken knew she was done for. She wailed as she lost her vision and fell forward onto camp. She was dead when her body hit the ground, along with a couple of buildings, and her tentacle released the Zeus girl that was in her clutches. She had lost. The Kraken was no more.

It would take more than a monster to destroy the camp? Oh... how wrong he was. This was only the first step in the many that it would take to destroy the demigods and then the gods. Eris told her everything she had to do to make sure everything would fall into plan. However, she had an annoying pest to take care of first. It would feel great if he was the first casualty. She grabbed another knife from her ankle as she pressed herself up against the side of a building as she took another careful aim at him, but stopped. The shriek. It was nothing like she'd heard before. She glanced around the building to see that the Kraken was falling over. Dead. She cursed underneath her breath as her plan failed as she strapped her knife back onto her ankle and made a run for it. She would take care of the boy another day, but she didn't want to get squished today.

Ash had readied another arrow and was about to make a move from his cover but he never got the chance. A loud screech tore through the air and that could only mean one thing. Ash glanced in the direction of the monster only to see it starting to fall straight toward the ground. He was right to have put faith in his fellow campers. The Kraken was slain and that meant that Audrey’s plan, at least this part, had failed.

Emboldened by the defeat of the monster Ash glanced around his cover preparing to take his next shot but only got a glimpse of her back as she sped out of sight. The son of Apollo swore and considered giving chase for a moment but decided against it. With her plans in shambles Audrey was on the run. There would be other usurpers too and the camp would need to hunt them down in order to really kill this little rebellion. It was only a matter of time before the hunter behind all of this met her end and Ash planned to be there when that time came. For now though there was still work to do and Ash was going to make sure that he did his part to hunt down as many of the rebels as he good. Like a game of chess they had unveiled themselves too soon and were exposed. It was now time for him and the rest of camp to sweep in and wipe the board clean. Check mate.
