"Bacchus' fermented ball sack who does a girl after to fuck to get a bottle of hooch around here?" Jen grumbled as she left yet another of her usual booze dealers angry and dry as a bone. This wasn't good. It wasn't good at all. The Praetors had been cracking down on all the illicit barracks booze recently and all of Jen's usual spots had been shut down. There was literally no booze anywhere and even worse than that with the supply of booze running low there had been little to no partying in the barracks for the past week. Jen was about to go insane and it wasn't fair. She had been working all week and it was finally the weekend. She didn't want to go back to her bunk and sleep like a good little Roman. She wanted to have fun and here the Praetors were ruining everything. It wasn't right and she would curse Juno for a toothless old whore before she let this stand. Desperate times called for desperate measures though and things didn't get much more desperate than this. That being the case Jen decided to swallow her pride and turn to the higher powers for help. "Whelp," She said raising her face in an actual prayer for once. "Would one of you horny old bastards do a girl a solid for once and being me some booze?"Duncan McLeoud

Duncan McLeoud, of the Clan McLeoud. That was the name of the man who was currently down below the Barracks of the Fourth Cohort. He and the Vulcan kids had worked on this room for a day and a half, making sure it was well hidden from the Praetors, and most of the rest of camp. He was currently hunched down by one of the many devices littering the room. They were his stills and his breweries. They were all currently active, but he was hunched down by the one that was finishing what would be his best batch of shine yet. Just as he was about to take a sip of this glorious beverage, his alcohol sense started to tingle. Walking over to the exit of the hidden chamber, of secrets, he pulled up what looked like a periscope. Up above, on his bed, a small cylinder opened up. It slowly rotated around, until it saw a young woman who looked to be praying to the gods for booze. He recognized her as Jennifer Kail, she frequented the Fourth Cohort looking for booze from the other delinquents that were placed here. He knew the Praetors had been cracking down harder on the booze hounds and had shut down several operations much smaller then his own. The girl looked like she needed some help, so he decided to give her a hand and invite her down into his sacred room.
Tapping a button on the side of the periscope, Duncan knew that it had opened up a small speaker near the bottom of his bunk, it was his way to take orders from those that weren't worthy of seeing his glorious cavern. It was actually well lit and had a comfortably furnished corner for drinking and relaxing. A small radio sat nearby, playing some pretty alright club tunes at the moment. He tapped the mic in front of him once before he spoke softly into it. "Hey you, Jen Kail. Follow the sound of my voice, good, good, yes over here. I'm the talking bed. Come over here. You want something nice to drink yes?" He gave a small smirk to himself as he watched her through the device. He knew she would want his stuff, it was the best. He was a child of Bacchus after all, this was in his blood, both literally and figuratively. "If you really want some good stuff, you'll have to descend into my Chamber of Alcoholism. Be honored tho, I don't let just anyone down here, but I have the feeling I can trust you. After all, if you turn me into the Praetors, you won't have access to the best booze around. I'm one of the only children of Bacchus using his gift here at camp, and I just finished up something beautiful." He held the small bottle of liquor up to the mic and swirled it around, producing a noise that was beautiful to his ears. He took a small sip, and he felt his entire body heat up, this was some of his strongest shit to date, and it would kill a small village.
He looked around through his periscope really quick, to make sure that this part of the barrack was mostly empty. Confirming this, he pushed a button on the wall nearby, and a set of wooden steps descended into his view from above. Looking up to the opening, he saw his bunk raise up to allow access to the stairs, while shielding them from view of anyone who would walk in suddenly. He looked up to the top of the stairs, and awaited his newest customer, taking another drink from the clear liquid in the bottle.

The problem with most people was that they thought the gods needed some kind of sacrifice or offering or even an auger or a priest before you talked to them. That was all bullshit plain and simple. Priests, most of them were crooks and what was a god going to do with some puny human’s offering anyways? Jen just talked directly to whatever god or goddess she was doing business with at that moment and the priests could all go bugger themselves.
What most people didn't realize was that the gods were just like normal people, all drunk and partying and randier than a two dollar whore on prom night. In fact, immortality probably made them that way even more so. You had to find something to fill the endless ages with after all and if anyone could appreciate Jen’s desire for a good time it would have been them so why shouldn’t the gods listen to her? The funny thing was how often Jen got results. She was the daughter of Fortuna after all and things often seemed to go her way. So when the unseen voice spoke to her from the room she was standing by she wasn’t even surprised.
"Next time your in town boys the drinks are on me." She said to the air and then looked around for the source of the voice that was calling her. The voice was coming from an ordinary barracks bunk bed but it was definitely saying the right words. A chamber of alcoholism? Jen didn't know what that was but it sounded like a place she needed to be and then came a sound she had been longing to hear, the sound of alcohol swishing around in a glass.
Really that was all Jen needed. Some might have been turned off by the idea if accepting drinks from strange talking beds with Scottish accents but most of those people were wusses. Jen had no such reservations and as she stepped towards the bed it began to move on its own. It was like a chorus of those fat little baby angels began to sing and she was led to the spot by a divine light from the heavens but Jen stepped around the bed and was suddenly peering down a stairway under the floor and into the ground. Apparently when the gods answered prayers they really knew how to do it. "Well you don't win by not trying." She said to herself with a shrug and with that she descended the stairs.
Apparently someone had been busy. It looked as if this place had been carved out of solid stone and if someone really had set up shop down here this was probably the most ingenious hiding space she had ever seen. Not that she was complaining of course. Instead she was wondering what exactly she would find down here. It was bound to be interesting and sure enough when she saw the boy standing at the foot of the stairs waiting on her she was definitely interested. Jen hopped down the last few steps and after taking a look around she turned her attention back to the boy. "Well it's cold as lord Pluto's dead ass and as roomy as Gaia's cunny but I like it. You the booze man?"

Duncan gave the young woman a smile as she spoke, he really liked her already. She had a very confident air about her and he liked that. "Yes, I guess you could say I'm the booze man. Duncan McLeoud, of the Clan McLeoud, son of the drunkest god in all of history, Bacchus. Professional brewer and shiner. Welcome to the distillery." He gave a grand wave around him at the cave that he spent most of his off duty time in. "As you can see around you, I make lots of alcohol. I have a good friend who's a son of Ceres, he provides me with all of the ingredients I need to make whatever you fancy. And I do mean whatever, I have a full blown facility down here." He was a good salesman too, and he was looking to get a good bit of business from the woman in front of him if he had heard correctly on the grapevine. Heh, that's a pretty good Bacchus pun, he gave a small chuckle at his own cleverness.
Shaking his head he started to walk around the room, pointing at the various machines around as he talked to Jen, "These are all of my distilleries and breweries. I make it all down here, safely and away from the prying hands of the Praetors. I keep it cold down here so that the finished product can be drunk without having to be stored in some sort of refrigeration. I keep blankets and pillows down here for whenever I decide to crash on the couches or if I have and good company over for the evening. Don't get much of that tho, I swear there are so many people who aren't cool with this cave. I like it down here, it has all I need, minus food."
He gave a shrug as he came across a set of barrels in the corner, he gave them a pat and looked at the labels on them. He made a happy noise as he came to the oldest one he had there. "Wow, I can't believe it. I hadn't realized that this one here was already done. Well, I will have to tap into that soon. This is the oldest batch of Irish Whiskey I have, I made it just over five years ago now. I need to find a good partner to drink this with, or a few of them." He gave a shrug and looked over at Jen, she was a good choice for a partner to be honest. He didn't know her all that well yet though, so he might ask later.
Turning back to the couches he led the way over to them and took a seat on one, inviting her to do the same. She had come down here for a reason after all, and he was more then happy to share the bottle he had here. He had several more ready in the still anyways. He needed to let her taste his product, that way she would start coming exclusively to him for her goods. "Well, I guess it's time for the good stuff now isn't it? I mean, you didn't come down here for the tour, you came down here for this," he gently swirled around the liquid in the bottle before pulling out two glasses. Pouring the clear liquid into the glasses he gently passed one to Jen, before he took a sip out of his own glass. Wow, he thought to himself, this stuff is really good. And it was, it would probably burn like a mother to someone who wasn't used to the levels that he drank at, but it was wonderful to him. It had just the right amount of flavor and a great burning warmth settled in his stomach. It wouldn't take more then the bottle of this good stuff to get really and truly fucked up.

The distillery. So this guy had his on little operation going on down here. An operation that he was apparently very proud of. Jen supposed she really couldn't blame him for that. If she could work up magic water like it was second nature to her then she probably would as well. What was surprising was how serious the guy seemed to be taking all this. He was no ordinary brewer of barracks hooch. Here was a son of Bacchus who was a business man at heart.
The next thing she knew Mr. Braveheart was pretty much inviting her on a tour. "Inviting" was one way to put it at least as he kind of just started talking and pointing things out as soon as he had introduced himself. Jen was content to let him give his spiel, this was his place after all and she supposed he was allowed a little exuberance for getting an operation like this set up. She wouldn't complain, at least not yet, but she hadn't come down here to listen to him talk about the process. She was more concerned about the finished product and that this was a safe place to enjoy it.
As she watched the dude he poured up two fresh glasses of liquor and handed one to Jen. The girl looked at the liquid and nodded. Obviously he wanted her to drink and he didn't have to tell her twice to make her thirsty. Without a word Jen turned up the glass taking the shot like a pro and the alcohol disappeared down her throat.
It was good. The Bacchus boy wasn't lying about that. Jen felt the smooth burn of the whiskey as it slid down her throat and she smiled as it settled in with a dull warmth. "Vulcan's fiery cock that's some good stuff. I'll give it to you I wasn't sure what to expect with all the big talk but you back up what you claim. You really know how to answer a girl's prayers if you know what I mean."
Jen took a look around. The boy obviously had some Scottish in him and she could appreciate that. The Scottish knew their alcohol just as sure as any Bacchus spawn but more importantly that meant that this big talking alcoholic probably had a little bit of everything here. If that was the case Jen might have made a new best friend and she saw no reason why friends couldn't share. "So, how quick do you think we can drink this place dry because I'm thirsty and this place is like a dream come true?"

Duncan gave her a dazzling smile as she downed his hooch. It didn't surprise him that she could drink like that, he knew of her reputation. She was a drinker, much like himself. He downed his own glass before refilling the pair of them. He was glad that she had enjoyed it, as it was what he spent most of his non on duty time doing the fun stuff down here. Draining his glass again and filling it back up, he smiled at her next words. "Well, I don't think we could drink it dry down here anytime soon, but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. He then stood, setting the glass and bottle down. Walking over to his storage, he grabbed 5 more bottles of the stuff they were drinking, and walked back over. He placed them down in a bucket of ice he had nearby to cool them off. Sitting back down and grabbing his glass, he raised it in a salute to the young woman with him. "To new friends, and good drink." He gave her a wink as he raised the glass to his lips.

Obviously this guy had never seen Jen drink. Oh she had no doubt that he had spent some time filling this little treasure room full of all kinds of tasty beveraes but Jen could put Bacchus himself to shame on a good day. That said, a few bottles wasn’t a bad place to start. She watched as Duncan went to grab some more refreshments to put them on ice and kicked back, pouring herself another drink and raising a glass in imitation of his toast. “No better way to make friends than to get sloshed together. That’s what I always say.” Jen didn’t particularly care what they were drinking to as long as they kept drinking. Fortunately Duncan seemed to have a similar mindset so she thought this little arrangement they had would work out just fine.
Glancing around the distillery again as she sipped at her drink Jen tried to take it all in. It was hard to believe this operation was going on right under the legion’s nose but she couldn’t really complain. At least someone was taking some initiative to improve things around here. It did give her a pretty good idea however. “You know there’s enough space down here that we could probably have ourselves a pretty good party. You ever thought about charging admission? We could have this place jumping with the right crowd and that might make this camp they've got us all enslaved to a little more bearable if you know what I mean.”

Duncan noticed her glancing around, and listened to her idea. A small frown formed on his face, it was something he had considered in the past. However he hadn't done anything on the matter because of the risk of being discovered. It was also a risk to his storage. Lots of drunk people in this space, no matter how large was a danger. If anything were to get broken, he might fall behind on his shipments, and that might kill his business. Granted, it wouldn't be that hard to get back up and running, but it would be a pain in his arse. He let the frown fade off of his face as he took another sip from his glass. "I've honestly thought about holding parties down here. I have plenty of space for it, and it's pretty secure. However with all of the crackdowns going on up top, it would be a pretty big risk to my security. If the wrong person were to hear of this, it would doom not only me, but all of the drunks in camp. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the only one's still producing right now. Plus if any of my stills or stores get broken, heads will roll. That would probably bring the mood of the party down a bit." He finished off what was in his glass before pouring another.
Thinking of hosting a party lead to another chain of thought, one he hadn't thought of last time when he was considering parties. He didn't always appreciate how much space he really had down here. This operation streached under all five barracks, but most of that space was for storage if he ever build up a massive surplus. All he really needed to do was get all his stills moved to a safer area, and set up a party area on the other side. He would also need a seperate entrance to be built. It would look quite odd for lots of people to head into the fourth cohort barracks only to not be inside. Thankfully he did have one person who owed him a favor in town. A cute daughter of Pluto that liked what he sold a great deal. The gears started to turn in his head as he started to mentally arrange the underground area and think of what he would need to make it party stable. He couldn't help the smirk that made it's way onto his face. "My dear, I think I may have just solved all of my own problems. For a moment, I forgot just how much space I have down here. This space streaches under all of the barracks. All we really need to kick off a party down here is a little rearranging and a little tech. Plus, I need a better way down for the party, but there's a lovely young woman who owes me a favor in New Rome that can help me with that." He looked over at his new friend, sipping from his glass. "I believe this is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship my dear, beautiful and profitable for the two of us."
