"My pants aren't smart." Agni said cuasing her to snort. "Thank God I didn't ask your pants then. Who knows what they would've told me." But then it registered to her. "Or is it Thank Gods? Do they..." She pointed at the sky. "Get annoyed by that phrase or what?"

She had to raise an eyebrow when he responded to her comment about him being decent. "Okay then. So you're decent with new people and a pain in the ass for people who know you longer than what? A few hours? That's a weird logic." She pointed out and took a quick look at her watch. She had Tracking Skills lessons later in the day and she didn't want to be late. But she still had some time.

Agni burst out laughing at Atalanta's remark. "Yeah, it's just as well they don't talk. I can't have my secrets getting out." He chuckled again and looked thoughtful at the mention of the gods. "I think it's Gods. Nah, loads of campers here have said it and no one's been struck by lightning."

The dark-haired boy shrugged at her words. "Nah, it's not. You just think I'm decent because you're new. Other campers know better. Especially the people I've had fun with." Agni began stroking Spike again. He could not help but be amused by Atalanta continuing to ignore the fear.

She laughed as he continued with the joke, but her laughter was caught in her throat when he mentioned that nobody was struck by lightning yet because of that. "Wait, what?!" She asked raising her hands in a stopping motion. "You mean people have been struck by lightning before? Out of the blue?" Somehow that thought scared her. And it wasn't so hard to understand why either. Being electrocuted on a clear day for no apparent reason was enough to scare anybody. With Agni's fear-releasing presence there, that fear only increased.

Agni raised an eyebrow at Atalanta's reaction to his comment. She hadn't really showed true fear up until this point. He was not going to complain, though. The punky guy was glad he actually managed to freak her out. Agni had almost given up trying to scare her.

"Are you afraid of lightning or something?" He asked, a devilish grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, there's bound to be accidents when you've got a bunch of demigods in one area. I wouldn't say it's out of the blue as most Zeus kids don't zap unless they get pissed off." The dark demigod chuckled darkly again.

Atalanta closed her eyes when he assured her it was not completely out of the blue. "No I'm not afraid of lightning." She said with a relieved sigh. "I was afraid of something else. But you don't need to know that. It seems you're having fun scaring people and I gotta warn you. Try that on me and you will end with more than just a broken nose." Her tone was serious and she took a step closer to Agni, ignoring the fear he radiated, in order to get her point across more strongly. She just wanted to make sure she had gotten through to him. She didn't like making enemies, but she wasn't one to shy away from them. If Agni decided to mess with her, she would mess him up in return.

However, with how close they were, if Agni touched her he would be able to tell that his comment had scared her not because of the lightning, but because she was afraid of the prospect of dying from something she didn't know was coming, from something that she had no control over. Just like her mother had died from a bomb attack with no warning whatsoever.

Agni was intrigued when Atalanta refused to reveal her fear. She had now piqued his curiosity. The punky guy smirked as she stepped closer despite the fear that she would be experiencing. Spike, on the other hand, did not like his space invaded. He lifted his head and let out a loud hiss.

Agni began stroking the irritated snake before speaking again. "You could have fooled me." He remarked with another chuckle. "Now you got me curious. Perhaps, but I can always find out. I can't help it if people's fear is amusing and I wouldn't recommend ruining my fun. Like I said before, I am good with knives and daggers."

Atalanta eyed the snake as it hissed, but she didn't budge. She shrugged as Agni warned her not to mess with his fun. She had warned him and she only warned once. She had seen bullies spewing threats all the time but never got through with any of them. She wasn't all bark and no bite. She barked and then she bit. "Maybe you will, maybe you won't. For now we are cool though." She said and took a step back.

She whistled to get Lycaon's attention and the pup came over in response to the call. Atalanta picked the pup up, completely ignoring the wet fur and the sand that the black dog was covered in. "It's about time for my Tracker Skills lesson. I gotta go, but I'll see you around Agni." She picked up her water bottle too and made sure she had all her stuff before beginning to walk away.

Agni smirked at Atalanta’s words. He found her bravado amusing. Most people would have been scared by Spike’s hissing. ”Fear never stays hidden for very long. That is good to hear, I suppose.”

The punky demigod was somewhat disappointed when she backed away and prepared to leave with her dog. Agni wanted to find out what her fear was. ”Hmmm, sounds boring. Yeah, seeing as this is the only place where you’re less likely to get attacked by monsters.” He watched her walk away before continuing his own walk. The dark-haired youth planned to find out what her fear was.
