Lucas entered the arena. He had gone there to train on his sword skills. It seemed to calm his nerves better than anything else. He made his way over to the practice dummy. His hand made its way to the necklace around his neck. He took it off his neck and closed his eyes for only a moment. Then he opened his eyes and he saw his sword in his hand.
Lucas then made a lightning-fast movement and in a blink of an eye, the dummy's head was on the floor. Weird, He thought. He'd never been able to do that before that fast. He glanced around. The arena seemed empty and he wondered if anyone would greet him if they were to come in. He then turned his attention to another training dummy and began practicing.

Atalanta was steadily getting the hang of living at Camp Halfblood. It certainly did help that her father was the god of war and thus she was quick to pick up on the combating aspect of it all. Being athletic also did her a great favor when she first started the drills with Chiron and the rest of the demigods. It was a harsh regiment, but Atalanta was happy to be able to keep up from square one. The rest of it was like any other summer Camp... well at least if you counted out the supernatural, like taking history lessons from satyrs, said history being what you once considered mythology and having to fight monsters that can only be killed by a special kind of metal.
She made a mental note to make a sword one of these days. One she could take with her when she got back out on the world again. Or maybe a spearhead? That way she could use it as a knife or put it on a wooden shaft and have a spear for longer range. Shaking her head, she went over to one of the weapon racks and grabbed a shield and a spear, testing them for comfort before moving away. She really needed to get her own weapons at some point. She ought to enlist the help of one of the Hephaestus Kids, but for now it was training time.
She made her way over to an open area close to the dummies and started warming up. Now for a daughter of Ares, warming up actually meant going through the basic stands without an enemy first and then with an enemy, a dummy or ideally another demigod or monster. But warming up didn't mean that she was taking it easy. Her thrusts were quick and precise. Her shield was kept close and when moved, as if to knock an imaginary enemy out, it was fast and strong. Atalanta had to admit that spears and shields were her favorite so far with archery being her worst. She didn't bother the blonde that was practising close by. The destroyed dummy at his feet meant that he was here to train seriously and Hades she knew nobody liked to be bothered when serious about training. She would've punched the person if she was interrupted.

Lucas glanced to see a brown-haired girl. His first instinct was to ignore her, but he was slowly getting bored of training. He wasn't sure he should interrupt her or not. She seemed really focused on her goal, whatever that said goal may have been. He willed his sword into a necklace and walked up to her. He cleared his throat. He wasn't sure why he was doing this, but he liked making friends and to be completely honest, he was extremely bored. He smiled slightly and said, "Hello. What's your name?" he hadn't met everyone in the camp. He made sure, though, to stay clear of her spear since he really didn't want his head to be cut off. Atalanta Nikolaou

The Arena. Genie didn’t really make it over to this area of camp much unless of course it was to hide the occasional bowl of ‘borrowed strawberries’. The forge was more her style and as a self-proclaimed pacifist who hated the sight of blood the forge certainly suited the daughter of Hephaestus better than the battlefield. Why force yourself to fight especially when you weren’t very good at it when there were better ways that you could help? That was how she saw it anyways and that was precisely what she was doing now as she walked into the Arena wheeling a dolly carrying a large crate that clanged with the sound of new weapons and armor in front of her. So large was the crate that Genie couldn’t really see over it herself. She guided herself based on her surroundings so she missed the two demigods who were already out for a little extra training. If she had she might have tried to be a little more subtle with her entrance but since she didn’t she sang a little song as she walked to the tune of Lollipop by the Chordettes which she had changed to be at least somewhat related to her task at hand. “Pointy things. Pointy things. I’ve got new pointy things…” She sang in a sweetly cheerful voice as she pushed the crate towards some weapon racks. Genie may not have been a fighter herself but there were lots of demigods at camp who were and to fight they needed swords, spears, arrows, shields, etc. Fortunately, as a daughter of Hephaestus, Genie was really good at making all that stuff and so long as she kept a positive attitude she found she really didn’t mind keeping the camp well supplied with all manner of weapons, armor and equipment. Her song and the fact that she called them ‘pointy things’ rather than weapons helped so here she was wheeling in her latest load to make sure everyone had plenty of stuff to wave around at each other while they trained. Genie continued singing as she walked over to a nearby weapon rack. The song really was rather repetitive when you got down to it. That was until she reached the climatic. “Pointy things!” After her third time through and then added in a much lower register to match the song “They’re good at stabbin'…” She stopped the dolly in front of the rack of weapons and walked around the crate to begin putting things away and it was then that she noticed the other two demigods standing nearby. Genie smiled and gave them both a cheerful wave. “Oh hello! Didn’t know anyone else was here. Don’t need any equipment do ya?”

Lucas literally almost jumped when a girl and walked up to them and said hello and if they needed any equipment. Fortunately, he gained his bearings and jumped back to the ground. Now if he felt threatened he would instinctively use his powers of manipulating over the air around him and float up at least a couple inches off the ground. He didn't know why, but it was just instinctive.
He managed to gain his composure again, however, hoping they both hadn't seen it. He figured not since he had only done it for a split second. He smiled and replied, "No need, I've got my equipment right here," he pointed to his necklace that hung around his neck.

Eventually the other guy decided he had enough training and seemed to wanted to chat instead. She ignored him for a moment, finishing up a series of blocks and faints to a forward thrust. She kept her stance for a hot second, realizing her spear was not on level with the ground as she originally intended. Frowning a little, she retracted her spear and thrusted again. Two repeats in, a cart was pushed inside the arena, sporting a really large crate. One that was big enough to cover the demigod doing all the heavy lifting. The real kicker was the song that was playing as the clanging crate, filled with what was more likely than not weapons, was rolled in.
Atalanta watched the scene unfold, leaning on her spear now propped up. Her eyebrows were slightly raised in disbelief of what she was witnessing. If anything, the song was appropriate and catchy. However for some reason, the guy jumped in surprise, which caused Atalanta to laugh "Aren't you a jumpy fellow?" She commented teasingly before turning her attention to the question the girl asked. "Whatcha got there? I could use my own equipment soon."
Spear resting on her shoulder and shield hanging losely at her side, Atalanta made her way over with curiosity. "I'm Atalanta, to answer your question. From Cabin 5." She said, to the other guy, briefly turning her back towards him. "I also appreciate it when people don't interrupt me mid-training." She added that tidbit of information for future refference for the both of them.

The boy demigod was definitely the jumpy sort. Genie watched him float for a moment when she said hello and giggled a little bit at the fact that she of all people should have given him a fright. Truth be told Genie was perhaps one of the least intimidating demigods there were but she supposed anyone could get jumpy when they were taken off guard. Fortunately it seemed like no harm was done and as the boy pointed at his necklace she smiled. “Oooooh, magic necklace. Fancy pantsy. You must be pretty close to your godly parents for them to give you somethin like that.”
She grinned at him brightly before turning her positive smile on the nearby girl who asked about equipment. “Weeeeeeell, let’s see...” Genie hopped up on the dolly and peered into the crate as she began rummaging around. “I’ve got big pokey sticks...and oh these are fun for swingin around.” Genie brought out a Greek Xiphos and holding it out arms-length waved it around in a flailing manner before setting it aside. “There’s some of these twangy instruments and if you want to go with something less traditional I’ve got these spin-y things and ninja letter openers...” Genie brought out a bow, a medieval style flail, some throwing stars and kept going until she gave a cheerful “Oh!” She halted her search for a moment to hop down from the dolly wearing a set of celestial bronze knuckles. “I’m not real sure what these ring things are but they’re pretty don’tcha think?”
Genie held her hand out and admired the knuckles as they fit around her fingers and then looked back at the two demigods. “Yep, I’ve pretty much got anything you would need and I can always make something special if that would suit you. This is just to restock what's here at the arena.” There were a lot of options when it came to how they killed things at Camp Half-Blood but for her part Genie had found her own way to deal with it despite her pacifism. She continued to smile at the two and as the girl introduced herself Genie decided she would make an introduction of her own. “I’m Genie Grace from the Hephaestus cabin and it’s nice to meet ya. Are both of you out for a little extra training?”

Lucas floated back down slowly. When his feet touched the ground, he looked embarrassed. "Uh..." he couldn't speak. Which was unusual since he talked all the time. He watched as the girl with the spear turned her back to him, then answered his question. "Cabin 5? The Ares Cabin?" Lucas never really got along with the Ares cabin, mostly because he was an easy target for them. He then heard her introduce herself. Atalanta, was it? He cleared his throat though as she mentioned not to interrupt her with training. He didn't argue and turned his attention to the girl with the crate.
"I'm not jumpy... I'm just alert that's all." he didn't know a time he was more embarrassed than now. Lucas's face darkened when the girl mentioned his godly parent. "Not exactly." He then watched the scene unfold. The girl introduced herself. Genie. He then remembered he hadn't introduced himself. "Well, I'm Lucas. From Cabin 1."
