Hailey laughed weakly. “I’m sure a few gods or goddesses would like to get one up on my la… I mean Artemis.” She blushed harder when she almost slipped into an old habit. Artemis was almost always referred to as my lady, but she was no longer Hailey’s lady. Not since she got turned into a jackalope. That spell severed any connection the two of them had. But the fact that she was able to find the Hecate and they were able to truly help her? Hailey was eternally grateful for them.
She sheepishly smiled at Theo as he took her rejection like a champ. She was just turned back into a human after a year or so. She would’ve enjoyed the company, but not now. Not when she was still learning how to be a human again. It was a lot harder than she really truly remembered. “I will. Thanks,” she said as she waited for him to leave the room before she closed the door and locked it, just in case. She turned back to the bed and sighed softly before she moved to flop down on it and get comfy. She was curled up in Theo’s cape as she finally drifted off into dreamland.

Theo, for once, wasn't relentlessly teasing her over whatever he could. She pressed her lips together and blushed slightly as he started saying she didn't need to thank him. She slowly nodded her head. She didn't have to worry. That was a nice thing to be freed of for a little bit. "But still," she said sheepishly as she looked at him. "Not a lot of people have gone out of their way to help me like you two have, so thank you." She directed her attention away from Theo as she looked around the room. It wasn't nothing fancy, but there was a bed that was looking quite comfortable at the moment.
But then the teasing started up again and Hailey's face really heated up. "Well..." she said with a weak smile as she tried not to squeak out. "Most Jackalopes are former hunters, but it would be like kissing a lot of frogs until you found a prince." Her face heated up more as she moved to comb her hair out of her face. "I think I won't need company. I kinda hog the bed just a bit."

Hailey threw a glance over to Saphron and it did look like the girl was planning something later for Theo. She could only guess what the girl was planning and Hailey knew she didn't want to be around that whatever went down happened. Hailey nodded her head to Theo's suggestion. A bed and rest sounded really nice at the moment. Going from a jackalope to a human in one day was physically exhausting. She moved to cross her arms across her chest as she ducked her head as she followed Theo into the rooms. "Thank you for letting me stay," she said as she looked up at Theo and gave him a sheepish smile. "Actually, Thanks for everything. The turning back to human and stuff."

Hailey knew she was inviting more teasing from Theo, but she couldn't see herself going back to the Hephaestus cabin any time soon. How was she going to explain to them that she left their cabin years ago and now wanted to move back in. She didn't even know who the cabin leader was anymore. She smiled sheepishly at Theo before she looked over at Saphron. The look on the girl's face said everything before she looked back over at Theo.
"I don't think your sister wants to be third wheeling tonight," she said with a slight blush on her face. "But one of the spare bunks is fine with me... It's been a while since I actually slept in a bed."

Getting off the hook that easily? Hailey blushed for a moment as she turned her head away and looked over at Saphron. A pile of clean clothes. Clean clothes sounded nice. Something she hadn't had in over a year. A sad thought really, but Hailey was more than ready to change that. She picked herself off of the ground as she stood shakily on her two feet. She was so used to hopping around on four legs that standing on two seemed to be a bit of a difficulty. She kept Theo's cloak wrapped around her as she made her way to Saphron's bed to pick up the clothes. She murmured her thanks before she went to the bathroom to change.
It took a few moments, since some of her clothes seemed to stick to her skin, but Hailey finally changed into Saphron's clothes. They were baggy, just as she promised, but it felt like Hailey shed a part of her old life. An old life that was currently residing in the trashcan. She walked outside still wearing Theo's cloak before she paused at the door. She crossed her arms over her chest as she smiled sheepishly at the two Hecate kids. "So..." she said softly. "Where do you want me to sleep?"

Hailey wondered for a second if she was even welcomed back in the Hephaestus cabin. It wasn't like her twin was there to defend her own and fight for her to come back. She lost Hannah long before she turned into a jackalope. And she didn't even know what the rules were about going back to her cabin after breaking her vows in the first place. As far as she knew, she was the only person who was able to break free of one of Artemis's curses.
She wrapped the cloak around her a bit as Theo in turn proceeded to tease her a bit more. "Well..." she said as she finally felt like she was getting some of her nerve back. "I think it goes that the kiss turns someone back to human." She nodded her head towards her disemboweled teddy bear on the floor. "And instead you murdered my childhood teddy bear. So I don't think you deserve a kiss." Her nose twitched again as she moved a hand to cover it up again as her face heated up.

Clothes. Clean clothes sounded nice. She'd been in her ratty clothes for almost a year, even if she had been a furry jackalope before that. Her eyes drifted over to Saphron as the girl pulled out clothes out of dresser. She barely was able to realize that Theo managed to drape a cloak over her shoulders and her face flushed a bit. She took deep breaths as her eyes darted around the room. She took deep breath before she glanced over at Theo. Did she have another cabin to call home? She hadn't called it home for a very long time. "The Hephaestus cabin," she said after a moment. "But I'm not sure if I'm welcomed back there."

Being suddenly human and suddenly being teased by a cute boy almost proved to be too much for Hailey. She adverted her eyes as her face got redder by the moment. If it was possible, she was pretty sure she was going to die of embarrassment. Only a few minutes as a human and she was going to die. Maybe Artemis was going to win after all.
She gave a sheepish smile as Theo reassured he was teasing her, which was something she already figured out. But that little fact didn't help that her face was still beet red. She kept her nose covered as she risked a glance over at Theo. If she thought he was cute when she was a jackalope, he was much cuter when she was human. At the mention of clothes, she looked down at her clothes. They were dirty and tattered and she had a few holes at her knees. And she was pretty sure that Artemis wouldn't like her running around in clothes that belonged to her hunters. "Clothes would be nice," she said quietly as she lowered her hand slightly.

After Hailey ran her fingers through her hair, she started examining herself. She looked at her fingers, lightly touching the skin. Her cuticles were ragged and her nail beds were dirty, but they were human. She inspected every inch of herself as she patted herself down. There was no fur. There were no horns. Everything seemed to be in proportion. She was actually, truly human. A thing that she never thought she would be for the longest time until she sought out the Hecate cabin.
She was so absorbed in thought and thoroughly making sure that no part of her previous life was still attached to her, that she completely jumped when she heard her name. She turned around all wide eyed as she looked at the boy. Theo. That was his name. And he was cute, so cute. Her face flushed a bit as she realized that he was talking to her as she adverted her eyes away from him.
"I... I..." she stuttered out as she comb her fingers through her hair again. She probably looked like a wreck in front of the boy and his sister. Great. "I don't think I have fleas?" she squeaked out as her nose nervously twitched. She quickly moved her hand to cover her nose as her face got even redder.

Hailey felt her heart beating in her little furry chest. What if this went wrong? What if she ended up dead and not a human? All these what-ifs ran through her mind, but it was too late to stop anything now since the chant started. She sat there in the circle as her eyes darted between Theo and Saphron. Would this actually work? Would she be a human soon? But as soon as Saphron gutted her teddy bear, Hailey screamed.
Her body was on fire as she could feel herself change. Her limbs lengthened, her horns shrunk, her fur disappeared. Every nerve was burning her as she morphed from jackalope to human. As soon as she got into a humanoid shape, she curled up in the fetal position. She wanted to cry. She wanted to scream, but the pain made her stay silent as she writhed in agony.
Once the spell was done, Hailey was curled up on the floor in her tattered hunters clothes. She took deep breaths as she opened her eyes. Was she... She scrambled to sit up as she reached out to comb her fingers through her hair. Hair, not fur, hair. "I'm human again," she whispered underneath her breath, completely in shock and awe of the moment.

Hailey kept nosing the teddy bear and looking up at Theo, hoping that he would get the hint. He seemed doubtful that her teddy bear had that much sentimental value to her. Did he never had a stuffed animal growing up? She kept nosing at it slowly growing desperate with each passing minute. Did he not get it? This was the thing to break the curse!
But he finally gave in, even if he probably had his doubts. Hailey could sense it. She stopped nosing at the bear as she looked up at Theo and wiggled her nose a bit. He kind of looked cute from this angle... Good thing that jackalopes couldn't blush or it would've been a dead giveaway. She blinked before he held his hands out to her. She didn't have any second thoughts as she hopped into his hands, ready to get out of the Artemis cabin as soon as she possibly could.

Hailey nosed through the pile as she tried to find something that would break the curse. They needed something sentimental. What did she have that qualified for it? She didn't keep journals and her clothes were nothing special, especially when she joined the hunters. Theo helped her rummage through her pile, but she wondered if he would know what would be considered sentimental.
But then he found it. She pulled back from the pile a bit as her eyes widened as he held it up to her. Her Teddy. Hannah had an exact same one named Beary. It was one of the few things she brought from home once she arrived from camp. It kept her company in the Hermes cabin while she was waiting to be claimed and when her sister gone insane. Teddy was the only one there when that boy first broke her heart before she joined the Hunters. It was the one there to keep her company when the Artemis cabin seemed a little too empty...
She hopped over to the bear and nosed it a couple of times before looking back up at Theo, hoping he knew that this was the thing they needed to break the curse.

Hailey sat there in Saphron's arms as her nose twitched nervously. Was this a good idea? Were they going to help them? Were they going to kill her and Theo on sight? But they weren't home, which confused Hailey a bit. They should've been here, but things could have changed with their cabin schedule within the past year. She didn't have too much time to worry about it before she was transferred over to Theo and placed into his breast pocket. If jackalopes could blush, there would've been one on Hailey since she couldn't remember the last time she was this close to a guy.
She stuck her head up off of the top of the pocket and watched as her and Theo flew away and into the cabin. He set her on the ground and she looked around the cabin. They changed it since she was last in here and the bed she used to call hers was occupied. Hailey wiggled her nose a bit before she hopped around a bit, before she saw it in the corner. It was a pile of her stuff! They didn't throw it away! She hopped excitedly to the pile and started nosing around in it, seeing if she could find anything that would help lift the spell.

Hailey sat there as she looked between the two siblings bickering. Were her sisters going to help them? Maybe... but at the same time, I could see them be worried that Artemis would get mad at them for helping the one who broke her oath. But she needed to be human... she didn't want to be a jackalope anymore... she swore the longer she stayed in this form, the more she forgot what it was like to be human.
But then the questioned was turned to her. Would they help? One hop for yes, two for no. Hailey had to pause and think about it for a moment. Would they help her? After that moment, she finally hopped once for yes. They would help them or she at least hoped so.

Hailey just watched from her spot underneath the bed as she watched everything unfold. They found out that Artemis did this to her... but she thought everyone knew who did this to her. How long had it been since she was human? Was it more than a year? But then the girl was able to remember her name. Yes! Yes! she wanted to scream out. They uncovered so much in the short amount of time she was here. But this ritual... they needed her possessions. Did she have any left? Did the other hunters throw it out as soon as she broke her oath. She didn't know, but it was worth a shot.
She crawled around the boy's stuff before she emerged from underneath the bed and looked up expectantly at both of the Hecate kids.
