Dakota's eyes scanned around the forest horizon as she tried to remember where that little clearing was. But it wasn't long before Ash pointed out the spot to her. She smirked a bit as she directed Blue Sky in that direction and started into a slow descent. She smirked a bit as she glanced over her shoulder at Ash. "Why wouldn't I remember it?" she said before turning her head to face forward. "There were some good memories made there." And Dakota hoped that there would be more made in a little bit.
But she made her descent into the clearing and it wasn't long before she made a smooth landing. "There we go," Dakota said as she let go of the reigns and turned to look at Ash. "You ready for a break then?"

Things were looking pretty good for Dakota at that moment. The wind was going through her hair and she had Ash pretty close to her. Not quite as close as that night in her cabin, but it was probably as close as they would get up here in the sky. But Ash seemed to have other ideas that made her chuckle a bit. And those were ideas that Dakota was comfortable with doing right now. Other ideas… well they would have to cross that bridge when they got to it. “Are you suggesting that we land soon?” she asked over her shoulder as she smirked a bit. She turned her head as she looked down towards the ground.
They were flying over the forest now and her eyes was scanning the trees to see if she could find Ash’s special place… their special place… by herself. “Shouldn’t the clearing be around here somewhere?” she asked as she looked back at Ash as she raised an eyebrow at him. “It would be a nice place to take a break for a little bit.”

Riding came naturally her again as anything else. She had to check herself once or twice to make sure her grip on the reigns weren't too tight, but she seemed to have Blue Sky in pretty good control. She didn't seem to hate Dakota all that much at least to the point where she would try to buck her and Ash out in the middle of the sky. That would've been one awkward trip to the infirmary and would completely make things come full circle.
Dakota really didn't have a destination in mind as they flew. She was just really enjoying the experience the Ash's company, especially with his hand on her stomach. She had to laugh when Ash spoke to her. She turned her head as she smirked at him. "Being a passenger is pretty easy, as long as the driver doesn't pull any death-defying stunts like a certain someone I know likes to do."

Dakota had to laugh a bit when Ash said he would never cause trouble. And he was right, for the most part, he just liked to show off a bit in front of her, which did include the death-defying stunts. But she was in the saddle metaphorically speaking, so she had control to make sure he didn't do that. At least, not on her watch.
But he hoisted himself up onto the saddle and wrapped his arms around him. She smirked a bit. There was a time where the roles were completely reversed. She held onto the reins as she clicked her tongue and gently prodded her sides with her heels as they trotted out into the yard. She looked over her shoulder as she smirked. "You ready?" she asked before she made Blue Sky go into a gallop and soon enough, they were in the sky.

Dakota had to laugh as she raised an eyebrow at Ash. "Now, why would you be starting trouble up there unless it's more death-defying stunts?" she said with a bit of a smirk as she checked Blue Sky's saddle one more time to make sure the straps were tight enough to her liking. Once they were all checked, she looked up to see that Ash had extended a hand to her. They were all ready. They just needed to get in the saddle and they would be ready.
"Thanks," she said as she took Ash's hand up as she hoisted herself into the saddle. She settled herself into the saddle before she looked down at Ash and extended a hand out to him. "C'mon, slow poke," she said with a bit of a teasing smirk on her face.

"Much better than the alternative," Dakota said as she finished tightening up Blue Sky's saddle from her side before she reached up to stroke her mane. Even though Ash gave his reassurances that Blue Sky didn't hate her, she still had a feeling that there was still some hard feelings there that they needed to sort through one way or another. Maybe this ride would help. If not, it would at least help something else that was right in front of her.
But now she was going to take a ride with Ash, which was well deserved after everything that happened up until that night she got drunk. But she smiled a bit as she looked over at Ash. "I hope so too. I haven't had a good ride in a while. I'm really hoping this one will be a good one considering the company... as long as they don't try to kill me." She shot Ash a wink to let him know she was teasing him just a little bit.

If the kiss wasn't enough for now, then Dakota knew she would have to resort to somewhat drastic measures, but that only involved kissing Ash further. She didn't think he would mind, but she did want to avoid becoming hot gossip for the rumor mill for a little bit longer. Even though, she did have a hunch that Blue Sky was probably the biggest gossiper of them all. But she tried to push that out of her mind as she continued the preparations.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Ash had grabbed the saddle and started placing it on the pegasus. She moved to the other side to help with the saddle adjustments before she looked up at Ash. She smiled a bit as her face blushed slightly before she looked down at what she was doing. "It's good to have something happy about. That helps a lot," she said as she looked back up at Ash again with a slight smile.

"The wrong camp?" Dakota asked as she feigned being shocked for a moment. "So you're telling me that this isn't the camp that doesn't have gossip running amok?" She giggled to herself at the idea. Sure, they were probably the forefront of the rumor mill while things were more than a little rocky between the two of them. But now, hopefully the gossip would die down. Either way, Dakota leaned in to give Ash a quick peck on the lips before she said, "Hopefully that will suffice until we're somewhere privater."
But Blue Sky wasn't mad at her, which was more than okay. And she was the slight reason that her and Ash gotten together in the first place. "Alright then," she said as she untangled herself from Ash's arms. "Let's take her out for a spin. She probably needs to spread her wings a bit." And once she was out of Ash's arms, she went over to Blue Sky's pen as she opened it and started preparing her pegasus for a trip with the two of them.

A few tricks? Dakota didn't like the sound of that in all. Mostly he did have a death-defying stunt to show her, but she wanted an excuse to ride with him and be close to him. Just as he was looking for an excuse to kiss her. She smirked and chuckled a bit. “I don't know if it's the right time to make it worthwhile. We do have a gossipy audience here.”
Dakota glanced over at Blue Sky before looking over at Ash. “She doesn't have that look in her eye, so I don't think she's mad at me. Or, at least, not that mad.” She shrugged her shoulders again before she pulled away from Ash slightly. “So do you want to head out? My pegasus or yours?”

"Happy horse, happy ride," Dakota said as she shrugged her shoulders a bit. And it was true to an extent. She had to make sure her horses liked and trusted her before she even thought about competing with them in any sort of competition. And the same the was true with pegasi, since they could dump you out of the sky at any moment. But she would be very surprised if Blue Sky liked her at the moment since she hadn't been around that much taking care of her.
"A few new tricks?" Dakota repeated as her eyes widened a bit as she looked at Ash. "Please don't tell me that you've learned more death-defying stunts. That one you pulled was enough for me. I do not want to repeat that again." She shook a bit from the memory. She was pretty sure that Ash used it as a tool for her to be closer to him, but she didn't want to repeat the idea of her dying because of a trick.

Dakota glanced out of the corner of her eye to see that Rusher had been spoiled for the day and was just happily eating away. She chuckled a bit as she turned back to Ash and cocked an eyebrow at him. "I guess I can let you spoil my pegasus after you have spoiled yours." And to be completely honest and fair, Blue Sky deserved every little bit of spoiling she could get. She did play the part of matchmaker for a little bit, even if things were rocky between her and Ash for a while.
But things were better now. Much better. Ash had wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her in closer while she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at him with a content smile on her face. "I'm doing alright. Another shift at the infirmary done." But then she glanced over at Blue Sky and chuckled a bit before looking back at Ash. "I might be a little bit rusty, but I'm up for some riding if you are."

After that night in her cabin, Dakota vowed never to drink alcohol ever again and she even got into her siblings if she caught them with it. That hangover was miserable and she never wanted to repeat it again. However, something good came out of that night and his name was Ash. They finally made amends or whatever, but things were finally okay between them for once. And for once, Dakota wasn't feeling miserable or down in the dumps. She was finally feel mentally better enough to go visit Blue Sky after her shift in the infirmary.
She didn't bother changing as she went straight to the stables. However, she paused at the doors as she smiled a bit. Ash and Blue Sky were having a moment and Dakota didn't want to interrupt it quite yet. She waited by one of the stalls for a few moments just watching them before she walked up to him. “Hey you,” she said as she leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. “I thought you had your own pegasus to spoil,” she said with a bit of a smirk.

Things were finally looking up for once. And to think, this whole ordeal started with her getting drunk because she thought she was horrible, even if Ash told her that wasn't the case, and now she was finally on a good terms with him once again. Maybe they could finally end the stuff that was going on between them, because Dakota knew she was absolutely miserable when she cut things off with Ash the first time around. And this time, she knew she didn't want them to end at all.
Dakota smiled at him when he mentioned something about letting a good moment go to waste. She chuckled a bit as she leaned in closer to him. "We can't have that, can we?" she asked before she pressed her lips onto his. Since it was a good moment, she figured she might as well get as many kisses out of him while she still could.

Dakota felt okay to tease Ash just a little bit. It had been so long since they had been on good terms that she was savoring it. She was about to say something else to him when he shut her up with his lips. He was kissing her, not the other way around. He actually wanted it for once instead of her throwing herself into him.
Dakota closed her eyes as she kissed him back. She enjoyed kissing Ash and it was nice they were finally working on their timing. She didn't know how long she kissed him, but it was a while before she pulled away from his lips. “You might be right,” she murmured to him as a slight smile crept onto her lips.

"So you're telling me that cuddling is much better and healthier than alcohol?" Dakota said with a slight smirk as she looked at Ash. She liked when they did cuddle last night, but Dakota passed out pretty quickly that she couldn't appreciate it as much as she should've. But now that things were better between them, maybe she would be seeing a lot more cuddles with him. "I think I would be okay if I become a cuddle-holic instead of an alcoholic." And Dakota was pretty sure that she wouldn't be touching another bottle for a very long time.
But their hug was nice and Ash smelled good. He smelled like cinnamon, which was something she was expecting, but at the same time that wasn't his scent. He was always smelled a bit woodsy to her whenever they were this close. When they pulled away, Dakota raised her eyebrows at him working on the timing of their kissing. She chuckled a bit as a slight smirk crept onto her lips. "Working on the timing of kissing will help with my recovery?" she asked as she tilted her head to the side. "I'm not quite sure if I believe you."
