Charlie felt his heart pound in his chest as Accalia moved to adjust one of his hands. It was nothing. She was just correcting his form after all. This was a not date. A not date that involved dinner and a bit of monster hunting. Once he had his form corrected, he lowered his bow only to almost fall out of the tree from Accalia’s shout. Once he regained his composure, he couldn't help but laugh from her way to get the monster's attention. But then he caught it out of the corner of his eye. “I think one heard you,” he said softly as he picked up his bow and aimed it right at the beast.

If one of us was bleeding? Charlie gulped slightly at the idea of it, but he managed to keep the blush from creeping up onto his cheeks. Well, mostly. He looked down at his lap where his bow was and looked back up at Accalia and she started her lesson. He studied her as she lifted her bow and he couldn't help but notice her hand was right by her lips. He was caught off guard and shaken out of his thoughts when she suggested that he copy her and tapped his face right by his lips. He couldn't contain his blush this time around, so he took a deep breath as he held the bow just as Accalia showed him a moment before.

Charlie had to consider for a moment how crazy he'd have to be to follow a girl into the forest to go monster hunting during a not date. Right now, he wasn't looking completely sane, but he was still following Accalia deeper into the forest. He paused when she stopped and he almost jumped when she put her hand on his arm. Climb a tree and wait? It didn't seem too hard. He nodded his head a little too eagerly before he said, “Let's do it then.”
He looked up the tree and knew his siblings would kill him for climbing a tree in these clothes and, for once, Charlie thought his siblings could suck it. He climbed up after Accalia making sure not to look up her skirt or her rear for that matter. But soon enough, they were high enough in the tree and Charlie sat by the trunk like Accalia suggested. “How long will it be until they find us?” he asked as he looked over at her.

Charlie had no clue what he was getting himself into, but he was excited that at least it was with Accalia. This was a complete one eighty from what their supposed not date had begun. He had a feeling that his siblings were going to be slightly disappointed that he was killing monsters with a girl instead of exchanging saliva. And for once, he was completely okay with disappointing them.
He watched as Accalia declared herself his archery teacher and handed him another bow that she made. He nodded his head as he grabbed it from her and stood up from the table. "Let's get going," he agreed as he nodded his head and followed her towards the forest and whatever excitement or danger they'd find themselves in.

Sneaking into the forest to face monsters? That was the complete opposite of what a date should be. There was a very good thing that this was already a not date. But still, he couldn't help but be a little worried about it, but also excited. He sat at the edge of his seat as he looked at Accalia. "We can do the forest," he said as he nodded his head. "I don't think I'm quite ready to go outside of camp... Plus I'm pretty sure my siblings would kill me if I got any monster blood on these clothes."
But the talk about weapons? Being thrown to the wolves? His eyes widened a bit as he watched her make a bow of vines before he muttered. "I've been training with a sword, but archery looks like it be good to learn too... It's never too late to learn, right?"

Daffodils and Forget Me Nots? He really didn’t peg Accalia to be the type to like those kinds of flowers, but he also saw it in her at the same time. But he’d have to remember the next time his siblings decided he needed a bouquet of flowers. He thought it would be a tad bit more special if it was a variety of flowers she liked. But he didn’t miss the blush on her cheeks as he nodded to himself while a blush crept onto his cheeks. But Daffodils and Forget Me Nots. That was one mental note he wasn’t going to forget.
But the rambling that Accalia was doing? It was a bit confusing, but also exciting at the same time. “So you want to sneak out of camp?” he asked as he shifted in his seat a little bit. “Or do you want to head into the forest? Both have monsters, so I don’t know which one is better. I haven’t really gone up against a monster before.” But she was right; he never heard of people slaying monsters on a date.

Charlie nodded his head and took mental note of what Accalia just said. Maybe he would have to bring her more flowers in the future if these not-dates continued. But he wanted to make sure they were from him, not something that was shoved to him by one of his siblings. He took a deep breath and took the plunge. "What is your favorite of flower by the way?" he asked as he tried to keep the blush on his cheeks from getting too red. "For future reference... so I can know if you'd like the bouquet or not if Dakota happens to hand me one again."
But this forest analogy that Accalia was going with was completely confusing him. Venture off the beaten path and face challenges and test your skills? It seemed completely out of the blue, but maybe there was something more to it and he wanted to find out what. "Accalia..." he said as he leaned towards her over the table a bit with a raised eyebrow. "What exactly are you getting at, because I think you lost me for a moment."

Charlie smirked a bit to himself as he finished up his food. "Well," he said once he was done with his bite, "I think she'll be very pleased to hear that idea was good. I personally thought it was a bit of an overkill." But maybe he would take more of Dakota's advice, especially if it left an impression on Accalia. But at the mention of nosy parents, Charlie remained quiet for a moment. Nosy parents weren't really a thing that he knew of, since any sort of parent figure he had in his life didn't really care about him. But he didn't have to worry about it for too long as the conversation quickly changed.
Defeating the point? What was Accalia on about? He knitted his eyebrows together as he thought for a moment before he caught her mischievous grin. She was planning something. What that something was, he didn't know, but he was definitely curious to find out. He relaxed his eyebrows before he raised on at her. "So are you saying we need to venture off the beaten path?" he asked with a slight smile. He had no clue what he was getting himself into, but he figured that it was worth a shot.

“Well, you're probably safe from their interrogating,” Charlie said with a bit of a smirk and blush as he looked up at Accalia. “Me, however, not so much. I know Dakota well want to know how this went. She's the one that insisted that I give you flowers.” He shrugged his shoulders as she chuckled, “I guess nosy siblings are a common thing around camp.”
But Charlie was completely caught off guard when Accalia made the monster comment. And he could tell she slightly regretted it. He held his hand up so he could show a small distance between his thumb and forefinger. “Only a slight bit,” he said with a chuckle as he lowered his hand. “It's really not that bad if you stick with the paths. The monsters really don't go near there.”

Charlie pressed his lips together as he slowly nodded his head. He hoped that the thoughts that crossed Accalia's mind weren't too troubling. Not like she would probably tell him anyway. He chuckled a bit as he shook his head and went back to his food. "My siblings are kind of the same, but probably not like yours. Your sister might be interrogating me later or something... Or her spies will come back with reports of what's in my underwear drawer." He realized that was probably not the most appropriate thing to say as he looked down at his fries as his face heated up.
He dared looked up at her when she asked him to share something. He had a lot of things to share, but he knew they weren't appropriate. Would she care to know his dad was a famous drug-addicted actor and his step-family was essentially something out of Cinderella? He knew better to keep his mouth shut as he tried to thing of other things to say. "I like walks through the forest?" he offered up, hoping it would meet her criteria for what she was looking for. "It's very quiet in there and it's also quite soothing."

Cheeseburgers were fine. That was great. More than great and Charlie could feel himself relax as they got their food and picked a table to sit at. They sat across from one another and Charlie dug into his cheeseburger. He was more hungry than he cared to admit, especially with all the nerves he had over this not-date. He was mid-bite when Accalia asked him a question and he had to awkwardly chew and finish it fast before he could answer. "My day was alright, except for my siblings intervening with this." He shrugged a bit. "How was yours?" He looked over at her to see her frowning at the french fry in her hand. He raised his eyebrows a bit before he hesitantly asked, "Is everything okay?"

Charlie was probably making a fool of himself in front of Accalia at that moment, but that was okay. If this was a real date, that would be something to be concerned about, but this was a not-date. Not-dates, you didn't have to worry about embarrassing yourself, but it wasn't a date in the first place. He just was getting food with a friend and they happened to slightly dress up for the occasion. Nothing more. Nothing less.
And it was okay until they got to the mess hall and Accalia asked him what was on the menu. Gods, was he even that hungry? He was so nervous that he lost his appetite over this date. But it wasn't a date. It was a not-date and he could eat because he shouldn't be nervous over not-dates. He looked over at Accalia as he raised his eyebrows at her. "Cheeseburgers are sounding good to me right now, unless you're in the mood for something different?"

Charlie didn't want to admit that he never did this date thing ever. Accalia apparently had, but she was beautiful. He couldn't imagine her not getting a date. While he was awkward and quiet and he had a hard time just talking to people who were not his siblings. But she hadn't dated in a while, so she kind of related to him. But not really. He kissed before and she probably kissed thousands of times and the fact that they would probably do that at the end of this date...
But to not think about it as a date was probably the best option for him at the moment. He nodded his head a little too eagerly. "Yeah... I'm okay with a not-date... not-dates I can do," he said as his face heated up slightly. "I can do not-dates with you and just have dinner... that works out with me very well."

A lot of thoughts were racing through Charlie's head as he walked towards the dining hall. He was hyper aware of how he was acting, breathing, everything. And the faces he was getting from Accalia's sister wasn't helping matters either. And the fact that he would probably going through an entire debriefing with his siblings... He nearly jumped when Accalia asked him the question, forcing him outside of his head. "I... umm..." he stuttered as he tried to compose himself. He took a deep breath as he ran a hand through his hair before looking at Accalia before giving her a sheepish smile. "My day was pretty good..." He said with a bit of a shrug. "Sorry... I guess I had a lot more on my mind than I thought. I don't do this... this date thing often."

Charlie's eyes widened a bit as Accalia leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. He wasn't expecting that at all, but at the same time, it was very nice. His face went dark red as he reached up to touch his cheek where her lips were a few moments ago. If things like this was going to happen throughout their date, he didn't know how he would survive. And if they actually ended up kissing... Charlie quickly pushed that thought out of his head. He nodded his head to Accalia's suggestion before he took deep breaths. He couldn't help but watch her as she put the bouquet down, but pulled out a flower to put in her hair. Gods, she was even more beautiful, but Charlie wouldn't dare to verbalize that idea quite yet. Not until he knew that he wouldn't stutter through it, like he had the tendency to do so at that exact moment.
But it was time to go. Thank gods, because he didn't know how many faces he could take from Accalia's sister. He nodded his head and thought to offer his elbow for a moment, but then thought better of it. Was that too... formal? He didn't know, but he could also hear his siblings voices in his head telling him to do all sorts of things. He shook his head trying to clear his head before he started to step off of the porch and towards the mess hall where they would have their date. Date.
