"I don't really know if I can improve myself as a demigod," Charlie chuckled as he light shrugged his shoulders. "I mean... I'm a child of Aphrodite. I don't have charm speak, which is the only cool power we really have. I really have no point to practice magic make up and there's no point in learning French when I'm already fluent in it. All I really do is improve my paintings." Charlie looked a little sheepish with the mention of his work. "I'm still not good, but I like it." He suddenly got embarrassed that he managed to get attention on himself and found sudden interest in his shoelaces.

(I know you say this is WIP, but I figured I'd throw a little love up on here.)
Niklaus & Charlie SIBLINGS! But they are completely different personalities. Charlie is the quiet one of the cabin and doesn't like it when ANY attention is on him. I don't know how much these two will get along, but probably they won't hang with each other much.
Niklaus & Dakota MORE SIBLINGS and she's the cabin leader. I can see these two getting along, but I KNOW she won't like it when he's rude and mean to people. If he tends to be like that all of the time, she really won't like him. But if not, I can see them getting along.
And for some lovers...
Niklaus & John John here is my Dionysus boy and probably the biggest player at camp right now. He's bisexual, but he's really only interested in one night stands at the moment. He can be very arrogant, so their personalities might clash.
Niklaus & Kevin Kevin will give anything a try. He hasn't labeled his sexuality anything, since he believes labels are for soup cans. I can see Kevin playing pranks on Niklaus to get the stick out of his ass, but nothing that won't physically hurt him. I don't know how these two would really play out.

Charlie dug his hands into his pockets more as he shrugged his shoulders. "I guess that's a common thing in any person, really. We all have our dark periods, but there are always periods of light to balance them out." He looked down at his feet and kicked at the sand a bit. "Or at least... that's what I like to believe."
He lifted his head up and smiled a bit as Accalia seemed to get everything pulled back together. At least the telescope wasn't hugging the ground."Outside of my cabin? Not really," Charlie said with a bit of a shrug. "Or at least... Not family I would want to claim, but they're not necessarily claiming me either. It's... complicated."

Charlie chuckled a bit as he continued rubbing the dog's ears. "And I always have a tendency to find more of it one me even when I thought I washed it completely off." He thought the moment was happy for a bit, but then he caught the look in her eyes. He knew that look since that was one he saw in the mirror quite a few times.
He stood there in his spot as he moved his hand away from the dog's ears, much to the dog's dismay. He tried to remain calm as he watched her go through a mini-meltdown. He remained quiet until she knocked over the telescope which caused him to flinch a bit. His eyes looked over at the fallen telescope before taking a deep breath and looking up at Accalia. "I'm sorry," he managed to mutter out as he moved to stick his hands in his pockets. "That must really suck... I'm sorry you're going through that."

Charlie smirked a little wider as Accalia seemed to take his imagery of Poseidon kids pretty well. "I don't blame you," he said with a slight chuckle as he shrugged a bit. "Air travel might be a little better, but you'd be paying outrageous prices on checked luggage and stuff... plus the ocean is pretty big, so I don't know how you'd track down a ship unless you had its coordinates or something."
He shrugged a bit again before his attention went down to the dog right in front of him. "Well... I would stay there for hours if it felt good too." He chuckled a bit as he let his hand drift away from the dog's ears to the top of its head. His eyes widened a bit as he looked up at Accalia. "Not the kisses," he blurted out with a bit of a laugh. "Anything but the kisses!"

"Nah," Charlie said as he shook his head with a bit of a smile. "I still don't think you look that tool-ish at all." But it was good to see Mae laughing. She looked like she really needed. Then again, who didn't need a good laugh? He raised an eyebrow at her as she asked if something would make him laugh more. He was about to ask what it was before she pulled the face with her tongue. He chuckled softly at first, but he really got going especially as Mae couldn't hold the face for long as she started laughing herself.
He thought they looked like idiots just laughing in the arts building by themselves. He laughed a bit harder as she whacked her forehead on the table. "C-careful there," he said between laughs as he reached out to put an hand on her shoulder. "Don't... don't hurt... yourself."

"I could see them being quite demanding that they be the captains or whatnot," Charlie chuckled a bit as he shook his head. "But I can see one of them wanting to have the big ole feathery captains hat and then they all start fighting over it." The image in his head was too much for him as he kept shaking his head and chuckling. "I don't think you want to get in the middle of that, do you?" he asked as he looked up at Accalia and smirked a bit.
He kept rubbing Fredrick's ears, which the dog seemed to like. Charlie looked down at the dog as he kept rubbing them. "He really likes ear rubs, doesn't he?" he asked Accalia as he glanced back up.

Charlie gave a slight smile as the girl giggled at his information. He didn't know what made it so giggle-worthy, but it looked like Mae needed a laugh, so he wasn't going to question it. His smile got a lot bigger as she put on her own scarf and called herself a tool. "I don't know if a tool would be the best way to put it," he said with his own laugh. "I would say you look more ridiculous than anything." He kept smiling to himself as Mae tried her best to calm herself down from laughing, but he didn't know if it was possible at this point.
"Nah," he said as he shook his head. "I've seen weirder, but laughing isn't one of them. It's actually good for the soul." He shrugged a bit. "People should laugh more often, you know?"

Charlie gave a small smile as Mae complimented on his name. He also agreed with his choice of using Charlie. As silly as it sounded, Charlie did go through mental debates when he was little about what version of his name fit him the best. That seemed to fit him now more than anything. He could have reinvented himself at camp and go by a new name, but Charlie just always seemed to fit.
Charlie shrugged again as he watched Mae, not even noticing if she was nervous. He was just mesmerized with how her hands moved as she knitted. When she mentioned about not sleeping, he looked up at her. "Research actually suggest to distract yourself if you can't sleep, but do something that's not too tedious, right? I guess something like this isn't too hard, so it could distract you, but not strain you." He chuckled as Mae finished the scarf and draped it over his head. "Thanks," he sad with a smile as he reached up to toy with the yarn. "It's really nice. Feels really soft."

Charlie shrugged as he made himself a little bit more comfortable in his new spot. "I guess it would be a natural form of defense. Animals have claws, spikes, and stuff, but we don't. Humans just have their words and names... I guess I would be more intimidating if I was a Chuck or more sophisticated if I was Charles, but I'm not. I'm just Charlie." He shrugged as he contently watched her make a scarf.
"You're welcome, I guess," he said as he shrugged again. "I don't really see that many people here this late at night. It's kind of nice to have someone here. It can get really lonely, you know?" He watched her make the scarf and noticed how fast she was gong. "You really have practiced making these, have you?"

Charlie had no clue where this conversation was going, since he was done with painting for the day. There was really no reason for him to stay in the arts building, but this MJ person intrigued him. Someone he could slightly relate to... that was a really refreshing change. He put his paints away and tucked it away so nobody could knock it over or try to steal it. Practically everyone that visited the arts cabin frequently knew that this was Charlie's window. It had the best view out of all of them.
He swung back around on his stool to face MJ just as she gave him a different name to use. "Mae is a little bit easier," he said with a slight smirk. "Doesn't sound as... harsh." After a moment or two of debating, he decided to go join Mae at the table. He kept a reasonable distance from her as he sat down and clasped his hands on the table in front of him. He observed her a bit before she offered to make him a scarf. He shrugged his shoulders. "Sure. Why not. I probably need a good scarf."

Charlie shrugged at the girl as she mentioned hijacking her own ship. "So you mean you want to commandeer a ship for your purposes? I could get behind that. We need more old-school pirates, you know? Not those Somalis that so call themselves pirates when they more rebels than anything else." He shrugged a bit more as he kept petting the dog. "But if it would get you closer to finding what you want, then I would talk to Poseidon kids. They'd probably know more about boats then anything else."
He looked down at the dog and couldn't help but smile a bit. Maybe he should get a dog. It would be nice for him to have a loyal companion of some sorts. He looked back up at Accalia as she spoke some more. Charlie gave it a thought before he shrugged once more. "I would love to say that I did, but we're all human, you know? We can't all be perfect. I try, but sometimes I slip and mess up. But I try, which is sometimes the best I can do."

"And you listen to them?" Charlie said with a slight frown. He really shouldn't have been talking. People tried to define him by his father, even though he knew he was nothing like him. However, that didn't stop his classmates or his step-family to subjecting him to their torment. He listened to her story about her disability and he couldn't help but relate to it a bit.
"I... I get where you're coming from," he muttered as he looked down at his hands and clasped them together. "I mean... not the arm thing... but people using something you can't control against you... It sucks..." He sighed as he glanced over at his painting as he frowned a bit. It had gotten too dark outside for him to use the same lighting. He swiveled on his stool back to his painting and started putting stuff away before glancing over his shoulder. "I'm Charlie," he said quietly before turning back to cleaning up. He never used his last name to introduce himself in case someone made the connection.

Charlie gave a slightly sad smile as the girl murmured that she knew how the subject in the painting felt. Maybe it was just a rite of demigods to feel trapped at one point or another. With him it happened to be with his step-family. That girl was one of Hades and Nyx. This girl in front of him... he didn't know what troubles she had faced, but he really didn't want to know at the same time.
"Why let your disability define you?" Charlie asked the girl as he stared at her. She was busying doing arm knitting or whatever with the yarn, but Charlie didn't care at that moment. "I mean, demigods are diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, but didn't stop some of the greats like Achilles, Hercules, and Percy." He shrugged a bit with a slight smirk on his face. "And Stephen Hawking was in a wheelchair, but he was known as one of the greatest minds. Something can't define you unless you let it."

"I heard that girl used to be a servant of Nyx and got tortured by Hades or something along those lines," Charlie said quietly with a bit of a shrug. "I don't know if it's true or not, since you know how rumors go around here." He sighed as he shook his head. "It's just sad she went through something like that. Feeling like you're trapped." I know exactly how she feels. he mentally added as he looked at the girl as she sat down at one of the tables.
He chuckled a bit as he looked back at his painting. The mistake was only noticeable if someone was really looking for it. "It's alright," he said with another shrug before he looked back at the girl. "It's not like I'm gonna be famous with my paintings or whatever. I'm not a Monet or a van Gogh. I'm just Charlie. I doubt he'll get famous for painting trees."
