Theo chuckled at Hailey. The poor girl couldn’t even handle him touching her and even when he tried to make things easier on her she still didn’t seem like she could figure out whether she liked it or not. It looked like she was going to have an awful lot of soul searching to do if she was going to figure out how she really felt about him. That was fine though. She had to start somewhere after all and maybe, as odd as it sounded, Candyland was going to help her with that somehow.

For now though Theo took his hand off her shoulder. He really wasn’t such a bad guy when you got right down to it. He had just never understood why people had to take romance and love so seriously. In his opinion life was much simpler, much easier if you just relaxed and had fun. That’s all he wanted for Hailey. The poor girl had fallen in love and gotten hurt in the process. She just needed to open up and enjoy life. That would fix her up real quick but until she made that decision on her own he wouldn’t push anything on her. At least it seemed like they had somewhere to start. “Relax Hailey. I’m really not that scary of a guy am I?” He paused for a moment thinking about the incident at the door and added. “Well not once you get on my good side at least. Look let’s have a little game night, I’ll bring some food and we’ll have some fun. Just fun. Nothing crazy.”

Hailey’s enthusiasm at the idea of playing Candyland together was good to see. He could tell that she was trying to work out exactly what this was going to mean for them. Was it a date? Was it not? Theo would have been happy to clear all that up for her but he still wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted. She liked him, that was obvious enough, but was it more as a friend or more than a friend? That was the real question and until Hailey decided that herself he didn’t think it was right for him to try and make the decision for her. So he would let her think on it, they would play their little game and maybe that would help her along her way. Who knew?

“Alright the great Candyland competition is set but I’ll have you know that I won’t go down without a fight.” He chuckled again and then turned his attention back to Hailey’s next comment where she obviously seemed to be done with his teasing, at least for now. Theo continued to smile even when she called him out. That was fine. He had certainly been called worse in his time. “You may be on to something there.” He said as his tone turned surprisingly apologetic for a moment. “We didn’t mean to imply anything. You know me. I like to tease. Sometimes I tease a little too hard.” His smile had turned genuine for once and he reach out to put a hand on her shoulder. “You know, if you don’t like my teasing you can tell me to stop. I can’t guarantee I’ll be successful all the time but I’ll try and take it easier on you.”

Wow what had gotten into Hailey. This was like a night and day difference from every other experience he had with the Hephaestus girl to the one that he saw in front of her right now. Maybe she really had decided to get over those nerves after all but this was a flying leap over the girl that had been afraid to even play truth or dare the last time he saw her. Still, he couldn’t deny that he liked this side of her. It was pretty hot.

He seemed to consider her offer for a moment but the smile never left his face. “hmm…That is a very tempting offer though I’ve never been very good at being a passive onlooker.” He watched her step closer to him and decided to step closer to her as well. “You know how I like to really dive in and work with my hands. All those spells, all those intricate gestures and stuff. There’s lots of talent in these hands after all and I would hate to let that go to waste just watching. Maybe you should show me how you bang in the forge. They say the best way to learn is by experience after all.”

Theo whistled as he walked along the beach. It wasn’t often that he got out to the beach to be alone. The ocean often brought out that old, familiar sense of wanderlust and it was no different today. He didn’t know what it was but he was starting to feel anxious again and for a guy like Theo who rarely stayed in one place for too long when he got that calling there was generally only one choice, to answer the call and hit the road for a while.

That being said he was a little conflicted this time which was odd for him. Usually when he got the call to head out into the world it was something that he listened to without hesitation. This time however the choice wasn’t so easy and he didn’t know why. There was his sister of course. Saph never liked when he left for a while but that had never really stopped him before. This wasn’t the same. Whatever he was feeling now was different but walking along the beach and looking out at the ocean he thought he could beat it, whatever it was. He would be back to his old self in no time. He just needed to think of some place to go.

Before he could turn his thoughts to the task however Theo caught sight of someone that turned his mind to other matters entirely. If he wasn’t mistaken that was Hailey standing there in his way and if that was the case well he thought he would enjoy catching the former jackalope girl in such a romantic setting as this with the sun fading in the sky. Approaching her his lips curled into that easy and playful grin that he usually got and he spoke up to announce himself. “I thought you Hephaestus girls liked to hang around the forge and bang away at things, not stand on the beach and watch the sunset.”

“I think we’ve gone way past the realm of complicated. Somebody certainly has a poor sense of humor here because I can’t see how this would work out.” Theo shrugged. In his opinion this was a pretty stupid joke if it was one. His face was perfect and it was weird finding out that he had been sharing it with someone else his entire life without even knowing about it.

“PJs? Right...” He said as he suddenly turned his attention back to James realizing that he was decked out in his pajamas. “Oh yeah go ahead man. Gods, hopefully we don’t have the same fashion sense too. This is going to be so freaking weird.” Theo shook his head and sat down on the porch to try and gather his thoughts. “Go ahead and get changed. I’ll wait out here and try and make some sense of this big mess.”

"Twins? No way. Couldn't be." And yet Theo really didn't have any better options. There was just the tiny, minuscule problem of the actual how it could be possible. Theo didn't know and he didn't really think it was possible to know at the moment considering the limited information they had. "Okay let's say you're right. We really are identical twins just somehow from two different godly parents. I don't know how it could work but let's just run with this. So that leaves the question of what do we do next?"

Theo scratched his head. Pondering this crazy stuff was giving him a headache. It would be odd enough if they just came from different mortal patents but gods? He supposed they could do some pretty freaky stuff but he was going to have to seriously question his mom's motivation here. Still, it was the best explanation they had. "I think we definitely need to go to Chiron about this. Maybe he knows of some kind of godly paternity test or something...the Olympian equivalent of Maury or something."
