This was a perfect plan in Colt's mind. Force the girl to lose and take her out on a consolation date. It was a win-win for everyone. Except, he didn't plan for her to catch on his form of cheating. Maybe he was just a little too cocky, but he messed up enough that he didn't realize she could also feel the winds working with him. And he didn't expect an ocean water snake to creep up and wrap around his ankles.
This completely caught him off guard. And while she meant to slow him down, it completely caught him off balance, so he stumbled. However, he stumbled towards Royce during their race. If they collided, there was no doubt that they would both land in the ocean for an unintentional cool off.

Colt swayed in his spot a bit as he waited for her count. He could feel the anticipation in the air before he swore everything fell silent. On your mark... He stood still. Set... He paused. ...Go! He took off like a bullet right behind Royce. He could feel the wind, but it wasn’t working against him. But Royce was definitely a little bit faster than him. But he could definitely make things work in his favor, especially being the son of a wind god.
So he concentrated a bit as he willed the winds to push against Royce’s direction, but work with his direction. They still had a bit to go, but hopefully this little use of his powers would give him enough of what he needed to win the race.

Colt stretched as he tried to get himself loosened up for the upcoming race. But he also to make sure to include some flexing in the middle of his stretching so she knew what she was up against. True, he didn't know her name or what cabin she was from, but he knew he would have plenty of time to get that once the race was over. Who knows, he was probably going to offer her a date as well, but only time could tell. But once he could tell she was getting into a ready position, he followed her lead.
He chucked from her comment about his shorts as he nodded his head. "On your count." He looked forward and took off as soon as she gave the word.

An impromptu race? That was definitely Colt's thing, but he didn't really expect the girl to accept his challenge. How far were they going to run? Colt looked down the beach as he tried to pinpoint a place to end their race. "That tree right there," he pointed off in the distance. "The one by the rock? That one. That's how far we'll go." He looked over back at her as he cocked an eyebrow at her. "Sound good to you?"
But she had concerns about the shoes, but it was easily fixed. He kicked off his shoes and took off his socks as he looked at her and chuckled. "Better now?" Then moved into a ready position for running. "Are you ready to check me out the entire way there?"

Colt had to eye the girl in front of him like all ladies he ran across, even if this one was almost literally. He watched her as she walked from the edge of the water to what he assumed was her stuff. "Shocks are good for waking up this early in the morning," he said with a bit of a smirk as he casually put his hands on his hips and stuck his chest out just a little. He worked very hard on his body for many years and took every opportunity he could to show it off. However, she didn't seem to be swooning over him like most girls at the camp would. He was slightly confused. Was she related to that Charlotte girl that he had to cheat at a scrimmage in order to get a date?
He didn't have too long to think about it though before she said something else to him. He feigned shock as he said, "I run slow?" He stood there for a moment before he went back to his usual, cocky self. "Well, Speedy, maybe you can show me how fast I should be running on a beach? I'll even challenge you to a race."

Colt was just pounding along the sand paying no attention to his surroundings more than he had to. Mainly, that mean he didn't want to get his shoes sandy or wetter than they needed to. So he kept running, not knowing that he almost knocked over a girl coming out of the water. However, he did hear someone calling him an asshole. That snapped him into reality pretty quickly. And it was quite weird who he heard calling him an asshole. Guys called him an asshole all the time because of his skills, but he only heard one lady call him an asshole and he was pretty sure it wasn't her.
He stopped after a couple of strikes and turned around and raised his eyebrows at the girl. He hadn't seen her around at camp before, but she was mad at him judging by her body language. Crap. He couldn't have pretty ladies being mad at him. Time to pull on the smooth factor. "Oh, sorry," he said, not really sure what he was apologizing for. "I don't know how I missed you. I rarely miss the cute ones. Are you okay?"

Colt leaned in and expected to press his lips up against Ebonie's, but that was not what he got. Instead, he got two fingers instead. He opened his eyes and looked down at them with a puzzled expression. The movie was almost over, but she didn't want a kiss? He was assuming that's what she wanted when she looked up at him, but now he was guessing that he was wrong. And he could completely say that this is the first time he was stopped from kissing someone with fingers. He was still puzzled as she turned away to watch the movie, but kept her fingers on his lips. He frowned a bit as he gently reached up to move her hand away before he turned back to the movie just to see kissing. How ironic. But he sat there quietly for the rest of the movie wondering what he did wrong that Ebonie didn't want to kiss him.

Colt liked working out in the early mornings while camp was mostly still asleep. Granted, he liked to show up for a lot of girls around him so he could've picked any other time to work out, but here was something about the early mornings that called to him. So on this one particular day, he was running on the beach. Shirtless, of course, despite how cold it was. Colt had his manly reputation to protect. Plus, he always overheated when he ran so shirtless was the better option anyway. So he was just pounding away on the sand as he made his way down the beach. It wasn't the fastest pace ever, but the sand absorbing his energy and bounce, he had to work extra hard and he knew some girls went gaga over a set of well-defined calves. So he just kept running, minding his own business and not paying attention if anyone was near him or not. (tag: Royce Reynolds ) |

Colt smirked to himself as Ebonie's face reddened. It was cute on her and it actually made him think that he had a chance with her for a second date. Maybe even more if he played his cards right. He really did try to pay attention to the movie, but he knew it was one of those that he would have to rewatch later by himself because he was distracted by the girl in his arms that he kept sneaking glances at. Towards the end of the movie," he looked down just to see that Ebonie was looking up at him. He smirked to himself as he took it as his cue. He reached over with his free hand as he tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek. And without saying anything, he ducked his head towards hers for a kiss.

Colt had to think about Ebonie’s question. How long had he been at camp? He shrugged his shoulders since hey question didn't bother him much. “I've been here since I was eleven, so close to six years. It's not that bad, especially if I have pretty girls like you to keep me company.” But he didn't mess up with the screen. That was good, but now he had to make sure not to screw up the next one.
As the movie played, they cuddled into each other, since Ebonie didn't reject his arm. He tried his best to watch the movie, but he kept glancing down at her, especially when she tried to suppress her giggles. It was cute, but he loved when she finally laughed as he pulled her in a little closer.

Colt hung his head in shame as he shook his head. "Nope. Never seen it. I really haven't had a chance to either after being stuck at camp for so long." Not that Colt was truly stuck at camp. He just never wanted to leave a place where he knew there were a lot of pretty girls. But he chuckled before he added, "Well I'm really setting the bar low. Do I need to upgrade the screen the next time?" He hoped there would be a next time. He was really enjoying Ebonie's company. More so than he did with the other girls.
But they started the movie and Ebonie got all comfortable. Colt slid up next to her as he tried to get closer to her. It was a few minutes into the movie that he tried to pull a suave move by yawning and stretching the same time as he put his arm closet to Ebonie over her shoulders.

"Fair enough," Colt said as he nodded his head briefly. He would have to make sure that she loved this date enough to agree to a second date with him. And usually the thoughts of second dates didn't bother Colt, but the thought of a second date with Ebonie? He was more nervous than he cared to admit, but he tried to play it off as much as he could.
But now he was second guessing the selection of movies he brought. Sure he had the rom-coms in there, but did he really bring anything that would suit her tastes? He held his breath for a moment before letting it out. She liked Ant-Man? He chuckled a bit as he shook his head. "I love superhero movies and I haven't seen this one yet," he admitted sheepishly as he moved to get the movie started. At least that was one thing that went right with this date so far.

Colt chuckled to himself as he nodded his head. "Then it's settled. Next date I'll get you some cooking lessons." He smirked as he took another bite of his sandwhich before he added, "That is, if you're up for a second date, I mean." He shook his head in amusement before he reached over to the basket to pull out a selection of movies that he'd borrowed from the Hermes cabin. Apparently they were movie fanatics in there. "You're pick," he said as he showed off what he had. "I grabbed a good selection of everything. I didn't know what you'd prefer for a date on the beach... but I probably should have picked more rom-coms now that I think about it."

"The harpies aren't that bad if you know how to avoid them," Colt said with a mischievous smirk. "They only have the reputation that they do because of camp rumors. You're less likely to wander around camp if there's a big bad boogeyman wandering around camp... or, in this case, harpies." He chuckled to himself as he brushed off his hands before leaning back on them as he looked over at Ebonie with a lazy smirk. "But don't worry. I can get you a cooking lesson if you're not afraid of the boogeyman." He had to laugh before he nodded his head to her sandwich. "And you'd probably learn how to cook better than I can, but that sandwich is pretty hard to beat."

“I'll warn you now,” Colt said with a chuckle. “Once you try my cereal, you won't be going back to normal cereal anytime soon.” He was kidding, of course, but he figured he could play up what he lacked in culinary skills. Colt was going to take another bite of his sandwich, but he paused. She never had practice in the kitchen? What was up with his oracle? First no fun and she couldn't cook. At least Colt could attempt to fend for himself. “Ya know,” he said as he lowered his sandwich and looked over Ebonie. “It's not that hard to break into the kitchens and I'm pretty sure I can find someone to teach us how to cook.”
