“Oh it was going to be pretty sweet. I started off with your basic Ollie, kicked off of one of the columns to get some more speed and was going to spin and come down riding backwards.” She chuckled as she realized he probably didn’t have the foggiest what she was even talking about and added. “It’s a lot easier to understand when you see it and I almost had it this last time. Guess I still need a little more practice before I start showing it off though.”
As he dab on the peroxide Tawny sucked in a sharp breath. It burned and that shocked her more than anything else but overall it wasn’t too much to handle. Still, she preferred to not watch the stuff bubble up like a carbonated soda so she kept her eyes glued on Archer. “I don’t know about the daredevil stuff. Somnia is usually pretty serious but who knows? Guess he has to have a bit of thrill seeker side if he found my mom.” Granted she hadn’t gotten to know her father that well or anything but she had met him a few times in her dreams and that had to count for something. “As for how I guessed let’s just say I grew up around a lot of Mercury siblings so I can usually pick them out.”

"That's the spirit." Tawny said with a chuckle. "Gotta at least try it once or you don't know what you're missing." For Tawny one of life's great joys was catching some great air off the half pipe. While she preferred doing her tricks on a skateboard she could still respect her mom's sport and other sports like ice skating too. All had their thrills and you couldn't be afraid to try them just because you had never tried them before.
"Ah yeah I saw that stuff the last time the winter Olympics was on." Tawny laughed. "It looked like a bunch of gnarly middle aged dudes sliding around on the ice. Pretty funny stuff if you ask me but I guess old guys need to get in on the Olympic action too." She shook her head and took a bite of her burger. "So is that what it is? You guys some kind of super family training for the Olympics or something? It'd be pretty cool to test your skills out on that kind of stage."

Archer took care of the wound and did so with surprising care. Tawny hardly felt a thing as he was pulling all the junk out of her leg. All in all it wasn't a bad experience. Still, she had to respond to his sarcastic comments. "Tell it that. Maybe next time it won't be in such a rush to make a mess of things. It would certainly make taking care of injuries a lot easier but no pain no gain as they say." By the looks of things there was about to be a little more pain though. As he hovered over her with the peroxide and cotton balls she prepared for the burning sting that accompanied the cleaning.
"I'm ready." She said with a nod. Hopefully the whole cotton swab thing would work a little better than her idea to just douse the wound and deal with the pain for a few minutes while it bubbled and fizzed. Then again she doubted it could be much worse. To distract herself she decided to keep the conversation going. "Don't worry I'm not much of a fashion nut myself either." She smirked at him despite the impending pain. "If you haven't noticed." T-shirts, jeans, hoodies, ball caps, anything comfortable really, those were more her style and she had never been good at all that dressing up stuff. "Then again I never claimed to be a daughter of Venus. Spend too much time in front of a mirror and that’s not for me. Let me guess, you’re a Mercury guy?”

Tawny had hurt herself more times than she could remember trying some of her mom’s tricks but that was the risk you took sometimes. You fall down and then you get back up again and try to get it right the next time. Besides, if you never tried you never got to do anything cool. At least that was Tawny’s philosophy. Breaking bones wasn’t fun but she didn’t think Danielle had much to worry about. Tawny didn’t want to scare her on her first time on a board after all. “Nah I’ve got your back. I won’t have you doing anything too crazy and snowboarding is no more dangerous than anything else you could do when it comes down to it.”
Tawny led them over to a table and had a grabbed a seat so that they could eat. She didn’t have a twin so she didn’t know what it was like to have someone on the same wavelength all the time like that but she could imagine it was pretty cool. “Guess we don’t get that lucky. One set of super powers is all they give us. Still, it’d definitely be different to have somebody in your head like that. Does he do the ice skating thing too?”

"Is that what it is?" She asked with a chuckle. "I'll have to keep that in mind." She wasn't sure if that was a joke or a casual flirt but either way Tawny supposed she would let it fly. She was getting a pretty good vibe from this guy despite his sticky fingers. He was the type of person she usually got along with and she didn't really mind a little harmless stealing. She was a little rough around the edges herself. The bloody knee was kind of the prime example of that.
"Ha, ha. Now less talking and more...tweezing." She shook her head at him and prepared herself for what was coming. It wasn't a bad injury but she especially didn't want to jump or squirm like a big baby when he was around. That was not the way she had been taught to act. You threw some dirt on it, got back on your board and went again until you got it right and that's exactly what she planned to do as soon as this was over. "I just wanted to leave a little skin on the pavement." She said as she held on to that confident smile. She decided it would be a little safer if she didn't focus on what he was doing and instead watched his face as he worked. "Would have been worth it if I would have landed my trick but I'll get it eventually. In the meantime I guess I've got a new pair of ripped jeans. Kind of edgy don’t you think?”

"A colorful childhood huh?" She said with a smirk. Guess that explained the petty thievery. Still, she wondered just how colorful his past really was. She had known some guys that grew up on the street and you never knew what kind of people you would run into when you hung around the extreme sports crowd but what was this guy's story? "Very mysterious. You're not one of those bad boy types who is all super tough are you?" She smiled showing that she was only teasing. So far he had been pretty cool and she didn't want to scare him off yet. Though from the sound of things she was starting to think he wasn't the type to scare easily.
She considered his offer to clean out her wound. Typically this was something she did herself. Not only was it kinda gross to ask a complete stranger but Tawny liked to do things for herself. Still, he did have a point and she really could use the extra hands. She supposed as long as he was willing to help it would be kind of silly not to let him. "Alright dude see what you can do with it. Mess up though and I might have to send you some pretty wicked nightmares tonight." She gave him another smile and leaned back to watch him work.

"Really?" Tawny said with a laugh. "That's pretty awesome. Guess those ice powers can be pretty handy when you get down to it." All in all Tawny was pretty content with dream powers herself but ice would definitely be a close second. Her mom would have probably flipped over them for sure but Somnia had been the man of her dreams, literally. "Say, being a daughter of Chione have you ever tried snowboarding? I'd have to get you there if you spent all that time making something for me to play on."
Tawny picked up her food and waited for Danielle to join her. She was right in saying that tt was pretty rare to find someone who was on the level when it came to the legion. People were either too strict or too crazy and while she generally got along with the crazier folks more than the strict ones Tawny found herself sitting somewhere in the middle more often than not. She wasn't the type who wanted to go out and party all the time but she wasn't walking around with a stick stuck up her butt either. That's why it was nice to sit down and grab a bite with someone who was just kind of chill. Granted she still didn't know much about Danielle but the girl didn't seem too crazy and hey, she had a twin too and the whole twin thing was pretty cool. "So you've got a twin huh? Any psychic twin powers I should know about? The closest thing I've got is the power to make some pretty gnarly dreams but that comes in handy too every once in a while."

“Huh. Guess I should try and do it right if I’m going to do it at all.” Tawny said with a chuckle as the guy reached back in her chest and brought out a few things to help her out. To his credit she noticed he didn’t take any of her chocolate so maybe he was an alright guy when it came down to it. She didn’t really know enough to say at this point and she wasn’t really one to make hasty judgments. Still, the guy was sticking around to help her so that was something.
“Seem to know a thing or two about first aid though especially if you’ve spent some time patching people up.” Tawny continued talking as she took the tweezers and began trying to clean the wound herself wincing every once in a while as she did. “Definitely aren’t wimpy around blood either. Are you doing the medic thing or something?” He didn’t really seem like the medic type, at least not like one of those Vejovis kids. Still, she supposed she could be surprised. Whatever the case it might be good to have another pair of hands for this. “You're...Archer right?” she said pulling the name out of her memory. "I've seen you around still practice and stuff. I'm Tawny."

"Woah hold up." She said as Danielle talked about using her powers to ice down a half pipe. "You've got some ice powers? That's pretty sweet. I've got to say though, if you and your brother iced down a half pipe like you said I would be first in line to give it a try. While I've never tried skating my mom is a pro snowboarder which I guess means I sort of grew up on the slopes." Tawny chuckled. Who would have thought he would have ran into a ice god's daughter who she could actually talk some interesting sports with and yet here she was about to eat lunch with one.
Tawny really didn't mind the rambling. She did it herself sometimes when she got excited about something. That's what Danielle seemed like now and Tawny could understand. It was alright. Danielle seemed pretty cool and it was easy to talk to her as well. Hopefully that would continue. "Thanks." She said as she got in line first and proceeded to order her food as well as grabbing one of those big cans of Red Bull while she was at it. After she was done she turned back to the other girl and continued. "Hey don't worry about it. I can understand when you get excited and have something to say. I mean I'm just excited I kinda found someone who gets me ya know?"

So the guy had a sense of humor even if he was stealing her stuff. That charming grin was fake as shit though. Still, she supposed she could let it slide. It was hard to be real when you got caught with your hands in the cookie jar after all. "The stuff on the bottom is better." She said as she tossed her board on the bed and sat down on her bunk with a hiss of pain. The bottom was where she kept the rich dark chocolate but he wouldn't have known that since it didn't look like he was digging.
Tawn's leg stung something fierce. It still wasn't anything major but the bits of gravel and dirt that stood out plainly in the cut probably needed to be cleaned out before she did anything else. "While you're digging around in there could you hand me the bottle of peroxide and a bandage? It'd save me the trouble." She smiled up at him through clenched teeth. "Not to mention you're getting to see the beginnings of some pretty wicked scars." Tawny played a good game but she would be lying if she said it didn't hurt and that she was looking forward to digging through her stuff on her own. Besides, the least he could do was help a girl out after taking her candy.

"A figure skater huh? That's pretty sick. I guess you really do know how to handle yourself." Tawny had never tried ice skating. She preferred to be on a board whether on the street, the water or on the ski slopes. Still, that didn't mean she couldn't respect the sport. Who knew, in another life she might have been an ice skater instead of a skateboarder. "But yeah good to meet you too. Always nice to run into someone else who has mad skills. Well...not literally that is."
Danielle was asking her to grab a bite though and yeah Tawny could dig it. She didn't know about near death experiences but good food was generally never a bad idea. Fortunately they had stopped right by a restaurant and if that wasn't a sign she didn't know what was. "Yeah I could totally do some food right now." She said with a chuckle and added with a thought 'Maybe a little more caffeine too.' Tawny led the way inside though. The girl was thin as a rail but she didn't mess around when food was involved. "So I guess you practice down at the ice rink huh? Never tried it but I bet it'd be pretty sweet if they could find a way to ice down a half pipe in there."

Tawny chuckled. “It’s a long story.” She said with a smile. There were some things that you just didn’t go into when you were meeting someone for the first time. The fact that you were slowly becoming an insomniac because you’re godly father was sending you dream messages was definitely one of those things. There just really was no easy way to explain what she had been going through the past couple of days and it was easier just to blow it off.
“Pretty fancy footwork though. I’m impressed. Definitely got some quick reflexes there.” It had been pretty quick work on both of their parts. Tawny didn’t know who this girl was but she couldn’t argue with how fast she had moved. “Eh, I get around. Don’t usually go running people over though. That’s a new one. I’m Tawny by the way.”

There was nothing like a little road rash to wake you up. Everything had been going well today. Tawny had been practicing a new trick she had made up herself. It was a really sick kick flip off of one of the columns in town where she would reverse her stance on the board so that she could switch up her skating style. It was pretty awesome to behold but the only problem was she hadn’t gotten the timing down perfectly just yet. Instead when she flipped her board and was supposed to come down in the opposite direction she flipped too high and came down on her knee instead.
Her jeans got tore up real good and her right knee was scraped pretty bad and bleeding but Tawny was convinced that it was not as bad as it looked. She had been through a million of these falls and scraps and she had never met one she couldn’t treat. This one was no different so as she hobbled back to the barracks looking sheepish as she passed the infirmary and went straight for her dorm. As she entered the dorm however it was there that she noticed something she wasn’t used to seeing.
As she walked in she spotted a boy over by her stuff. That wasn’t strange in itself but then the guy opened her trunk and proceeded to grab a few pieces of candy before shutting it again. Tawny smirked as she entered the room. “You know, I’ve heard they taste better if you ask first.” She said with a smirk as she made her way over to her bed. She didn’t really mind the guy taking a few candies but it would be interesting to see how he reacted.

Luckily the two girls saw each other in time and reacted quickly enough. Tawny for her part did an admirable job of changing her course in the nick of time narrowly avoiding the girl as she stepped out of her path. It was a tense second or two with the skateboarder teetering and nearly going for a fall. Tawny was a better skater than that however and she saved it. Regaining her balance she spun her board around and brought herself to a stop on two wheels a short distance away.
The other girl was alright and that was good. She didn't look mad either and that was better. "Oh hey I'm cool." She said with a slight smile. There was no sign of sleep now. Tawny was awake and happy she didn't run this poor girl down. "Sorry bout that. I guess I'm not so good at sleep skating yet." Tawny picked up her board and walked over to the girl. "What about you? Didn't swipe you on the way past did I?" The girl looked alright but you never could be sure. In any case it was good to check on her.

Tawny let out a long yawn as she spun in a 180 Ollie, landed on the curved back of the park bench and ground down its length to land at the other end. It was likely that to the outside observer she probably looked like a cocky little shit just showing off her moves but a closer look would have told even the casual watcher that the girl was tired. She supposed a lot of people wouldn't think that strange for a daughter of Somnia but for Tawny there was a reason and it wasn't a good one.
Sleep? Yeah she didn't usually have a hard time getting it but it was the type of sleep the girl was getting that was causing the trouble. When your dreams carried all kinds of troubling messages from the god of dreams it wasn't a good situation. Most nights when the dream messages came Tawny woke up feeling even more tired and stressed than she was when she had gone to bed. The fact that the messages had been coming more and more frequently didn't help matters either. Tawny didn't know what had made her dad go all "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi" on her but she needed to find a solution and fast.
For now though there wasn't really much she could do about it. Fortunately she could deal with a little sleep deprivation. Caffeine was a wonderful thing and cured a whole host of problems. So long as she could totally crush a Red Bull or two here and there she thought she could keep it from interfering with her life. Or at least that's what she thought until she opened her eyes and saw herself rolling right towards someone on the street. "Woah heads up! Coming through!" She called in warning as she did some quick evasive maneuvers to avoid a head long crash.
