Catherine nodded when the girl approved her sitting with her, slowly sliding into the booth, a small thanks coming out of her mouth, looking around her as she did. She recognized quite a few people from her mothers parties. Which meant they knew her. Fidgeting started then. How she carefully laid out her coffee mug full of her sweet drink, careful to set it as she had been taught all her life. Once she deemed it acceptable she took her extra napkins and started to attempt to fix herself. Everything was wrong though, all her skin had goosebumps. Her mother would be so angry if she found out.
She was snapped out of her fidgeting when Celeste said something to her. So she did know her name, figures since they were in the same cohort, but she had never been known to talk much. Then again neither did Cat, unless she was doing socialite stuff for her mother. After all it was her family duty.
She nodded slightly, wrapping her cold hands around the warm mug. "Yeah. And your Celeste right? We haven't really talk much before have we." her voice was soft, cat trying to be as small she possibly could in this crowded place. "Yeah. Its a awfully bad storm. It came out of no where too. I wish it had at least given us time to get inside but now we all look like Neptune decided to take us all for a dip. At least we made it into a coffee shop, we could have been stuck somewhere boring like the armory or stuck with the Centurion. " shed believe it. Neptune kids always seemed to have a issue with her, she supposed that made sense since her father, but it was completely reasonable to believe he would do such a thing.

Catherine loved sunny days. The warm sunlight that shined in clear skies that made everything chipper and full of life. Today, was not one of those days. It had started that way, at least until a sudden downpour began and she was trapped outside. She had been running errands for her mother all morning and now she was drenched from head to toe and she could barley see her glasses were so fogged up. Needless to say she was miserable. Part of the problem was that all of her Errands had gone wrong. All of her mothers friends had just ruined any good mood she could have had. She hated the prissy society that her mother associated themselves as and she hated the way people looked at her. Like behind their smiles they are waiting to ruin their name or turn others against their family. Connections meant everything to her mother, and Catherine knew that she had to keep it together for her mother.
The closest place had been a cafe, already packed with citizens all wet and dripping. It was a tight space needless to say, everyone was mumbling about, waiting for the worst to past. Catherine just wanted this day to pass. She went over and ordered a large hot chocolate and looked for a place to sit at. One of the booths sat a girl from her cohort and she took her chance before someone else in the crazy filled store could. She walked over and watched as the girl, Celeste, she remembered her name from drills, controlled a plant, willing it back to life. It was spectacular, she always envied ceres children. So much strength but it was all good, never destructive like her own. She realized she was looking too long and snapped out of it "Hey, um, could I sit here?" 10/10 not awkward at all.

Isabel had always said that the status was life for them. It is what kept them Roman. Status and power were in her blood and the place of most status and power in Rome was the Forum. Maybe that's why she hated this place so much. As she strolled through the forum it was filled with banter and groups of people. All socializing and all trying their hand and showing off for one another. You would hardly be able to tell that only a few weeks ago New Rome was under attack by a Kraken of all things. Words of fear and action passed around as citizens tried to determine what the legion would do and how it would react. No information had been released to anyone, not even the legion. Whatever was going to happen was going to happen soon though. It was unlike Rome to let something like this pass retaliated. Her mother said something that this is just how Rome is, always has been. Constantly under attack by everyone else. Regardless she knew the next few months were going to be interesting.
What wasn't interesting was her weekly grocery trip. Gods she hated it, not that the shopping bothered her. It was nice to get out of the house and out of the barracks that she did not mind anymore. The shop keeps were generally nice but those who know her family always gave her the same act. Sucking up, saying how great she looked and how much of a lady and all that normal goosh. It was always annoying and remind her of the days as a kid. Back straight, head high, eye contact all that good stuff that her mother grew up on. That she grew up on. The idea of that type of status had freaked her out as a kid, now she knew that it was something she had to live with. It wasn't a surprise. As she walked hrough the Marketplace with a glass bottle of soda in her hand and bags in the other she knew her place in this world was always going to be as a Medici rather than as Catherine. Cat, the small squeaky girl that kids would poke fun at and had to keep her head high when all she wanted to do was play and cry like a normal kid.

personality-- Catherine is a soft fall day. Shes caring, bubbly and full of joy. She cares for people, how they are, how the feel, what they think, and mostly, what they think of her. She has been use to judgement and expectation all her life and she fears nothing more than to be stuck in the name forever, to never break away and live her own life. For Catherine there has always been a standard set for her that she could never achieve, on both sides of the family tree. Elegance and poise, Power and strength. Shes never had a medium. She always was suppose to achieve more. All of these standards set for her made her a perfectionist, but also a kind soul. Someone that wants to generally make people happy and to feel happy.
Shes a goof. Catherine is a very bubbly, go happy person and thats very evident in everything that she does. It's rarely seen for her to have anything less than a smile and a greeting to everyone around her and at times it can be a fault. For a Roman girl, she is far less serious as she should be for a woman of her name. More like a soft princess than a hard queen, Catherine often feels like she isn't Roman enough for her family. This does not mean she does not believe in the Roman way though, organization and discipline are key parts to her upbringing and she rely on them to keep her in control of her own powers and strength. While she is kind and gentle, Catherine is a strong leader when it comes down to it and a even stronger warrior.
godly parent-- Jupiter
family-- Isabel (Da Medici) Demeci, 42, Art Historian
pets-- None
hometown-- New Rome
history-- 1400'S ITALY: Even though it had been hundreds of years since the official collapse of the Western Roman Empire and the start of Christianity running rapid through the land, not all true Romans had left. One family, long entwined with Roman's gods and demigods was the Medici family. While history remembers them as patrons of arts, their history was far more complicated than that. They had been a long line of Demigods. Every few generations, another demigod would be born. They had their secret shrines and other such worships knowing the truth of the world, but they didn't question the status quo, they stuck to the order and raised to power. All of history remembers them as queen mothers and leaders in art in knowledge, but soon they began to fell, and as the last Medici was left, the world saw the end of the Medici legacy, or so they thought. What they are unaware of was the shift that she followed, moving west to the new world to start a new world order.
NEW ROME: Near the heart of New Rome sits a above average home in a traditional Roman style and in this home lives the Medici family for generations. Some have lives in the real world, puppet homes and birth certificate, others choose to stay in New Rome and live their lives forever. While they still hold power in their name their real power is their influence. One of the few considered 'pure roman' families left, they are known to be a real gossip, the Kardashians of the Roman world. All of this made life of the latest young Medici girl quite hard. Born from another great Medici and named after two extremely powerful Medici's, Catherine Luisa De Medici was born in New Rome to Isabel Demeci, as she changed her last name for her public life as a well known Art Historian, and the God of all Gods, Jupiter himself. Thats some pressure huh.
All the drama, the order and the standards weighted on the young girl as she grew up. Some saw her as Jupiter's daughter, powerful and Fierce. Some saw her as a Medici, a True Roman and a poised member of society. Yet she was both and neither. While her and her mother aren't the only Medici Romans alive, most live in the real world though, only her and her mother lived in New Rome. She lived a different life than most other New Rome kids, she rarely left the home without her mother or some other trusted relative. She didn't play, no running in dirt or snorting in public. She was expected to be, well perfect. Though it was hard to watch a young girl at all ours and she did explore on her own without her family knowing. As she started training with other demigods, thats where she truly developed.
Due to her socially deprived childhood, Catherine was often pulled over and pranked. She had no sense of people doing her wrong or what it meant to not be liked. While she was a naturally kind person, she desperately wanted to fit in. To just be another kid in training and enjoy her life. She knew she would never fit in though. As she went through training, she was selected, of course, for the first. What a surprise, the 20th in a long line. Her great-great uncle was the only one to fuck up so badly to not be in the first, but that was unsurprising for the bad luck the fifth cohort had suffered from. That was another story for another time. Her story was her own though. Catherine was determined to make her own story, be her own person outside her godly parent and her family name.
