There was no doubt in Callie’s mind that today wasn’t a pretty day within the camp. Not only was the warm sun shining through the trees, or the water by the edge of the camp cool enough to dip one’s feet into. But it was just a good day, and she thought that it was a sign. Something terrible would inevitably happen on a day that she felt content, couldn’t it? Maybe that was her negative demeanor, a part of her that hide deep within her persona that she showed the world. She may show herself as a positive, outgoing person – she was the opposite on most occasions. From what she learned about the camp and being a demigod, darkness always waited just out of reach.

Callie walked among the other campers, teenagers from different godly parents. It was weird to think they were all related in slightly odd ways, mostly because the gods didn’t know what to make of themselves. They breed like crazy, even with their own family, and thus, her family tree went from three to like thousands among the world. Sometimes she even wondered how many more demigods out there were her half-siblings or half-relatives because of the Gods.

With her bow strapped to her back, along with a thing of arrows, she walked back from the training and headed in the direction of the cabin that she belonged to. Because her mother, Persephone, was considered a minor god, she shared a cabin with other demigods that weren’t of her mother’s decent, and while it wasn’t weird, it was different. Other campers just slumbered with their half-siblings near them, but not her cabin.

Moments after she dropped her bow and arrow off at the cabin, hidden where she usually kept it, she made her way through the camp once more. It wasn’t long before she found herself in the strawberry fields, hoping that her friend was there. Genie was a year older than her but was in love with the strawberries that hide within the vines. It wasn’t long before she noticed her, seated beneath a tree with a basket near her, she rolled her eyes rather amused and drew closer to her; “Picked some strawberries, did you?”

It was early in the morning, or rather, not that order for Callie. She was used to being up as the sun rose in the distance, watching as it danced upon the water. From what she learned at camp, was that the God Apollo pulled the sun into place or something like that. She couldn’t exactly remember, but she knew he had something to do with the sun, oddly enough. She yawned, having been awake for quite a while, as she headed to the mess hall for some well-deserved breakfast.

Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun, having yet to be brushed other than to get it out of her face. Her tan complexion looked different without the light brush of makeup she usually put on in the morning, but other than that, she looked completely normal. She didn’t care if she looked like shit to others, she felt great – other than the fact that her stomach just sounded like a bear roaring at its prey.

As she drew closer to the mess hall, she almost ran into another camper, a female from what it looked like. And quickly her eyes grew wider as she recognized her old friend, something that hadn’t been the same in a while. Taking a chance, like always, she plastered on a smile and spoke, “Good morning, Lia,”

Normality wasn’t something easy to come by, especially when you were who you are. Time formed each person individually, making them who they are and who they aren’t. But there is still time for a change, to have your life flipped and your morals tested. And that was what Callie was going through, or at least, she had gone through it. Growing up she had only known her father and her nanny, and truthfully, Callie had never asked about the woman that gave birth to her, and the only thing she had to go by about her was the letter she left after she was born. Her father didn’t seem bothered by the fact that Callie didn’t appear to take notice that her mother wasn’t present in her life. He did however like the fact that Callie saw Tara as her mother more so than he would have thought.

But after coming to Camp Half-blood, a place filled with people like her, she felt more at home then she did in the outside world. Learning that her mother was some Greek Goddess, that didn't phase her, but it was nice to finally be able to put a name to the person that gave birth to her before dashing. But that didn't stop her from enjoying her time with others, especially learning that she had half-siblings, that was a plus.

She shook her head from her thoughts, keeping her sketchbook close to her chest as she made her way to the amphitheater, it was usually quite quiet in that location, mostly because people were training or hanging out with others during this time. Sometimes she just needed to get away from the rest and be in her zone. Especially now with the dark times ahead, she wanted nothing to do with that unless necessary. She’d ride it out until danger struck, which it always seemed to do for those that were children of the gods.

Callie did a quick look over of the amphitheater, once she arrived, and noticed that she wasn’t alone. While she couldn’t make out the person, she did notice shoes that were rather oddly placed on a bench in the corner. Callie, finding herself curious, drew closer and that was when she noticed who it was. At least, she thought it was the person she did until she noticed a book in his possession. “Dominic?” she questioned, almost hesitant, right now she was so unsure if it was the son of Athena she thought it was, especially because she didn’t know him as the reading type.
