It was a terrible mistake, saying he was feeling a little lonely to his best friend in camp, the words came out of his mouth before he could stop them and suddenly he was walking towards his cabin with different names of girls who were single in camp, of course they were more but Dylan was lucky enough to thank his friend and run away. He made a deal with himself, he would let his best friend set him up for one blind date and see how it goes. It was going well, he hadn't heard anything about meeting anyone until he was told a day before who he was meeting with, when and where. How was he gonna find a suitable outfit in one day? He had to plan everything, he did not have enough time. Or in the words of her younger sister, he was screwed.
But the day came anyways and Dylan was thinking things over, he had almost everything done. He found a great and respectable pant suits with a great complimentary shirt, a tie loosely wrapped around his neck. The setting was almost perfect, almost. He just needed the sunset and everything would be fine, but minutes before the sunset and before he would me his date, he set up a table in the beach, good enough for his shoes not to get dirty or the lady's shoes. A rose in a glass vase waiting to be picked up by its new owner, the silver plates he had to go through the whole Mess Hall to find, then the food, oh the foo would be exquisite. Having to convince an angry dryad who had been tormented by his younger, troubled sister, to help him out serving the food was hard, but it helped that he could persuade her with a smile, not wanting it to be the case though, since leading one ladies with his looks would be a mess, no such thing to do to such a delicate woman. So he would help the dryad with anything or just help on getting back to someone who took her for granted.
As he stood next to the table, the light breeze of the waves splashing to the sand, calmly making the mood more serene, the sun almost ready to rest and create such colors that he could only dream of, he waited for the beautiful lady. He could not wait for the mysterious woman who probably had more time than he did on preparing, but never the less, he took out the rose from the half empty water glass vase and hid it behind his back to present it to her.

Dakota didn't know what list she got on, but she was always the first one her siblings grabbed if someone mentioned needing a blind date. It was probably something about her being relatively new to camp and she hadn't had her initiation yet. Dakota didn't believe in breaking hearts, but she didn't believe she should get in a serious relationship either. That Demeter boy she conned into a date a while back? She hadn't seen him since that night of drunk cuddling. When she got the news that she was set up for another blind date, Dakota couldn't help but roll her eyes. She had full intentions of scheduling a shift during the date so she had an excuse that she couldn't go until her sisters informed her that no such thing would happen and this was a nice guy she was about to go out with. But then they dragged her into the infamous Aphrodite makeover closet to pick out a suitable outfit for the occasion. Dakota only had half an hour before her date before she was freed from the claws of the makeover gurus and she had time to straighten out her outfit to her liking. She had cowboy boots on, but they were booties since she found out they would be meeting at the beach and she didn't want to drag out her nicer pairs into the sand. And then she left with the entire cabin cheering her on. She only rolled her eyes again as she made her way to the beach. It was getting darker out as the sun was about to set, but she could make out the figure on the beach along with a... table? Dakota couldn't help but smirk a bit as she approached the boy. "You're Dylan, right?" she asked as she stuck out her hand. "I'm Dakota." Her Outfit

Dylan wasn't tired, he didn't mind the waiting, it didn't even seem like a long time passed before a beautiful figure was making her way to the table, and as the lady walked he could see more of her, and truth be told what he saw was breathtaking. He could see her clear, her flawless features in her beautiful face, this was no date for someone like her. A queen could never been seen with him, in this trashy table with an unsuitable man like himself, he was unworthy for a queen, no, not a queen, a goddess.
Regardless of her beauty, he could see it in her eyes, the hint of independence, loyalty and compassion. He couldn't see anything wrong with her, but blinded he was to only see her marvelous features, to ignore every other quality in her eyes that said that she was nothing but perfection. It was only later when he stop gazing in her eyes, lost in its precious colors, were they green or blue? A mixture of those two colors brought the best in her eyes. He looked down, seeing her what seemed delicate hand and he touched her palm with his own, with his dry lips he bent over the hand in a courtly manner, and made the motion of a kiss over the back of her hand. He expressed his silence in an apology. "My apologies, I was just wonderstruck in your beauty, and lost in your eyes." He slowly let go of her hand and with his other had showed her the rose. "I am Dylan Mccoy, it is a pleasure to meet you Dakota." He waited for her to take the rose as he walked behind her chair, took it out of the table and waited for her to sit and help her move the chair.

Not bad... Dakota thought as she looked at the view in front of her. This boy wasn't as bad as the other blind dates she had been on. He wasn't a geeky Athena boy or that Demeter kid, but he was also a kid of love from her understanding. It was probably required that all children of the gods of love were supposed to look good. She did notice she had her hand outstretched for a couple of moments longer than necessary before he decided to do something about it.
A normal handshake would have sufficed, but he had to kiss the back of her hand. Maybe... maybe this blind date wouldn't be as bad as she originally thought. "Apology accepted," she said coyly with a bit of a smirk as she slowly pulled her hand away from his. "You're not so bad looking yourself, Dylan." She raised both of her eyebrows as he presented a rose to her. "Why, thank you," she gushed as she took the rose and went to sit down at the table. She smirked as he helped her with her chair before she looked around. "Quite a date you have planned," she said as she looked at him with inquisitive eyes. "On a scale from one to romantic comedy, how cheesy is this date going to be?"

A half smile grew in his face, he couldn't help the feeling of pride of being complimented but it was still below him, he knew his looks was something he had probably gotten either from his dad or mom, since his mother was gorgeous but since his father was Anteros, one of the gods of love and all that he did have good looks. He didn't respond though to her compliment, just letting his smile do the talking. He was fulfilled with success when he noticed he liked the rose, finally she sat down as he helped her with her chair. He walked back to his place and sat down his own chair.
"Thank you, but I'm afraid I could've done a much better job if I had more time. But I'm glad you like it." He looked to his right towards the trees to inform the nymph that in a matter of minutes to bring the menus that he had to get someone in the Apollo Cabin to make yesterday and also be willing to make the food, fortunately one of his friends, a girl, with a romantic heart decided to help him out. "I'd say nine, but you are welcomed to make it more cheesy, as you can see I am a romantic." Finally the nymph took the hint and walked towards the table with two menus in hand, she handed one first to Dakota and then to Dylan. "Thank you Aradia," He smiled politely and left to later come back and write out what they would want.

Dakota chuckled a bit as she settled down into her seat. "They didn't really give us enough warning for this date, did they?" she mused as she looked around. For someone who was only given less than a day's notice for this date, he managed to pull it off quite well. Dakota couldn't help but wonder what dates would be like with him if he had even more time. She set the rose down by her plate as she glanced off over the horizon watching the sunset.
Her attention was pulled off the sunset and back to him as she smirked a bit. "Nah," she said as she shook her head. "Nine is probably a good starting point for a first date." She chuckled a bit more as a nymph walked over to their table bearing menus. "So who's the chef?" she asked as she took the menu and thanked the nymph before looking over the selection. "And lots of yummy food too..." she muttered to herself as she tried to make a decision before she looked up at Dylan. "What are you getting?"

Dylan couldn't think straight, he wanted to be able to choose dinner for himself that was exquisite and refined. Yet he couldn't help but glance at Dakota every five seconds. He did was subtle at it of course, yet he wanted to stare at her beauty all day. He looked back at the menu, where the drinks were and said absent-mindedly. "Oh, the Apollo kids." They were the best cooks in camp, who else would be doing the cooking? Meat was definitely not a good first impression, but it looked so good with some wine sauce. "I don't know, can't decide yet." He could eat about anything, contrary to popular belief, he was still just a regular guy who could eat a whole pizza, maybe with style but still he could do it.
There wasn't much he knew about Dakota, he didn't like that. He wasn't so new around camp and though he spends his days alone or with a good book. He could ask his sister though, that girl would know everything about everyone before that person even knew it themselves. "I don't know why we haven't crossed paths before," He wanted to start a conversation that did not include the date and also how awkward it would get later on when they don't know what to talk about. But after a few minutes of thinking what to get, Aradia came back and nudged Dylan in his arm. "Oh, yes." He put the menu down and looked over to Dakota. "Ladies, first."

"The Apollo kids... They are good cooks..." Dakota mused to herself as she glanced over the menu. She couldn't help but wonder if she was going to get teased for days on end in the infirmary if they found out about this blind date. The Apollo kids were sort of her second siblings, since she did spend so much time with them, so she wouldn't put it past them.
Dakota decided on a pasta dish that sounded good before she looked up back at Dylan just as he asked why they hadn't met before. She scrunched up her eyebrows a bit as she bit her lower lip in thought. "I... don't know..." Dakota said with a shrug as she set her menu down. "I guess I'm in the infirmary so much that I don't get out to see the camp that often... I was in school to be a nurse before I got here, so I don't want my knowledge to go to waste." She smirked a bit before she looked at Aradia. "I'll have the baked ziti," she told the nymph before she looked over back at Dylan with a smile. "So, where do you usually hide out?"

"Indeed they are." Dylan smiled, it was a funny story how he found out the Apollo kids were good at cooking, since he didn't know a lot of greek mythology he had tried to guess by just observing some campers, it was a good hobby just looking at everyone without seeming creepy and since he was always alone no one really noticed him. One day some kids from the bright cabin were fighting over some cake and how one of them had ruined it with putting different things in it. One of them spotted Dylan and asked to taste it, he was delighted to eat it and it turned out to be delicious, since then he always knew they were good at cooking.
"It's alright, I'm pretty good at being invisible." Mostly because it was his sister who had the attention and wanted the spotlight. Once Dakota ordered it took a moment for Dylan to answer her question, she was always in the Infirmary and Dylan wasn't anywhere important. "I'm almost always in my cabin, there isn't anyone really. Or sometimes I just go to this really sturdy tree and in this branch you can sit there and just enjoy the breeze or see the sunset while reading a good book." Pretty cheesy, right?

"Good at being invisible?" Dakota asked as she cocked an eyebrow at Dylan. "Why would anyone want to be invisible? That just doesn't make sense to me." Dakota shrugged as she smiled a bit. "Then again, I like helping others, so staying invisible just isn't an option to me."
She leaned back in her chair a bit as she relaxed a bit. She decided that she liked this Dylan kid and there was really no reason why she needed to be uptight and tense about it. "So this tree of yours?" she asked with a bit of a smirk as she moved her foot to brush against his. "Do you think you could show me sometime?"

"Well when your sister pretty much throw herself at men it can get annoying to get bothered by boys wanting to be with her and asking a lot of questions about her." Dylan replied with a heavy sigh, oh how he disliked his sisters' ways. "Also I like the alone time, it's nice having some time to think and appreciate the little things." He looked up to her with a grin of curiosity. "Why not?"
He gave an uncomfortable movement, he had never mentioned to someone his tree before, it was as if talking to Dakota was comfortable for him but now that he thought about what he said he wasn't so sure now. "Oh um, yeah sure." His eyes widening while he felt her leg brush his, he looked down, blush of red in his cheeks. His heart was beating too fast and he couldn't stop blushing. He had to hide it so he put his hand on his face to hide the blush from his cheeks and tried to stay calm "It can be in our next date." Trying to smirk was a total failure, he ended up giving her a slightly goofy smile and pathetic gooey eyes.

"Huh..." Dakota mused as she finally made the connection in her head. Adena Mccoy. That girl had a reputation around camp and everyone kept getting her confused for being in the Aphrodite cabin. That was such a stereotype, but Dakota just learned to deal with it, since she knew she wasn't one of them. "I guess having your alone time would be nice then."
But his reaction to her foot brushing by his was adorable. Dakota couldn't help but smirk a bit as she slowly started to trail her foot up his leg, pushing up his pants a little bit. "Yeah... I would love to see it on our next date." She had to hold back a chuckle. The eyes he gave her were completely funny.
