Whiskey Tango KRAKEN (Quest)

So Daven and Jay. Names to go with the faces and a little knowledge to boot. Apparently they were a couple and with that the lingering suspicion that Free had when they first met, that sense that she was really just the outsider looking in on this trip, seemed to cement itself. Unfortunately there was nothing to do for it now. She was going to have to finish this one way or the other even if she was starting to wish they had chosen someone other than her for this quest.

"I'm Freedom." She said with a sigh and turned her head slightly to look out the window. They hadn't gotten going yet and it was easier to look at trees than it was the happy couple. "You can call me Free I guess. Most people do." She had just starting to settle in for a long uncomfortable ride to Boston but the Grey Sisters apparently had other ideas. As Daven gave the destination the car gave a sudden blast forward and she was thrown back into her seat hard enough to bump her head against the back window.

"Son of a..." Free shook her head and for the first time really took notice of the three women sitting up front. They were bickering and arguing about where they were going and what they were doing and they seemed to be passing an eye and a tooth between the three of them. Free didn’t mind that so much but the driving? Sheesh. "Would it kill them to give a little warning?" She grumbled discontentedly as she rubbed the back of her head. Trees were beginning to slip by faster and faster and it was making her kind of sick to watch so she looked away. "At least we should get there fast."

The whole creepy old lady cab journey wasn't the best way to travel, it wasn't going to be rating very high if they ever had an Uber rating service app for them. They were really quick though so that was a perk of it all. They certainly weren't going to be late getting anywhere. When Daven introduced him as Jay he gave the girl a small nod, before giving Daven a quick glance too. "I would say nice to meet you Free, but these circumstances aren't great." He replied with a small laugh.

"Jeez." Jay muttered to himself as the sisters begun driving. His hands went out to hold onto the back of chairs in front. "So anyone got any fun stories to tell?" He asked with a grin, leaning back a little.

Daven nodded her head and smiled at the girl once she finally got a name. She was about to say it was nice to meet her, but she had the air forced out of her lungs with how fast the car accelerated. She hit the back of the seat with an oompf before she grabbed Jay's arm for some sort of stabilization. "Shit," she muttered underneath her breath as she labored to get air back into her lungs, but it burned like Hades.

"We'll be in Boston fast enough to get to a hospital," she said a little bit louder to Free's comment as she winced a bit. "Shit, no wonder people rarely use them." She took a couple more labored breaths as she looked up at Jay and raised her eyebrows at him. "I don't think now's the time for fun stories?" she said as she looked up at the front of the car to see the three women still bickering, but Boston was slowly coming into view.

Free wasn't in a mood for being particularly friendly at the moment and with her head hurting like a motherfucker there really wasn't a lot of hope for Daven or Jay to improve things that much. She did agree with the Daven girl though. They were in the middle of a quest and she didn't need any funny stories in her life. "Not the right time and besides, I'm not really the funny stories kind of girl." She said as the city lights came into view. They were almost blinding considering how fast they were moving but at least they were getting closer and maybe that meant they could be in, out and back at camp before too long.

"Looks like we should be there in a few minutes. Why don't we focus on what we're going to do when we get there?” She said as she tried not watch as they narrowly missed hitting a building. “Either of you know where this Paul Revere dude was supposed to be? Boston isn’t exactly a small city and I always hated history in school."

Jay rolled his eyes when both the girls decided to completely reject his conversation starter about funny stories. Talk about doom and gloom. "Okay, no stories then." Jay replied with a small sigh, leaning back a bit further in his seat. It's almost as if they didn't expect a song of Apollo to try and brighten everything up.

"Nope, not a clue." He replied back to Freedom, looking over to Daven to see if she had any idea. It was a bit of a long shot though, most quests end up with the kids walking into it blindly without the slightest idea of what to do or who to go to. So why should their's be any different? Jay was there for comedic value, that was it. Not for knowing where random dudes are.

Daven eventually got air back into her lungs, despite how much it burned. She heard the other two talking about where they needed to go first. Paul Revere... Paul Revere... She tried to think, but she felt the pressure on her when Jay looked over at her. She pressed her lips together as she thought quickly. "Didn't involve a church or something?" she asked a bit hesitantly before she lurched forward as the cab immediately stopped. She groaned as the chains dug into her chest before she was slammed back against the seat. "Aphrodite's tits," Daven muttered underneath her breath as she reached over to remove her seat belt. "I think we're here?" she asked aloud so the others could hear.

“A church?” Freedom said speculatively. She had never really had a liking for church going folks. There were far too many judging eyes and her tattoos and piercings tended to make her stick out like a sore thumb. “Guess that narrows down our search to about a million to-ooof…” She would have said more but her sarcastic tone was cut shut as the taxi skidded to a stop and she rocketed forward into the seat back in front of her. “Gods’ dammit give a girl some warning!” Free yelled at the old crones but the hags merely stopped their arguing long enough to laugh at her.

Free kicked open her door with enough force to rock the car on its side for a moment and then hopped out glad to finally be on her feet again. Glancing around while she waited for the others she noticed that they were located on a sidewalk looking out onto what she assumed was Boston harbor. A cool sea breeze was coming off the water and the buildings surrounding them were a mixture of more modern skyscrapers and old colonial style brick buildings. Free had to take it all in for a moment before finally turning back to her fellow questers. “So we’re looking for an old church right? I say we head towards the oldest looking buildings and see what we can find then.”

Emergency stop seemed like an understatement when it came to these three old hags that were somehow driving this car...Jay had luckily reached his hand out to the chair in front of him to stop himself from being flung too far forward before dropping back in his chair. "So..Not Cool. Definitely not getting 5* on Uber..." Jay mumbled, rubbing his shoulder as he looked between the two girls to check they were all good, lingering by Daven a bit. "You good?" He asked her.

Jay looked over at Freedom when she left the car, getting out of the car as well from the middle, using the door she opened because he wanted to get out of the car as quick as he could. He looked around their surroundings, "Old church...great. We're children of gods and we're going to a church for a singular god, if we burst into flames, make sure I look cool." He said, standing with his hands in his pockets as he examined all the buildings around them.

Daven rubbed the part of her shoulder where the seat belt dug into as she muttered about walking the next time. She looked over at Jay as she made sure she was alright. She nodded her head. She could feel bruises forming from their ride, but she didn't want to worry him.

Freedom got out of the taxi quickly and Daven thought it was an excellent idea. She quickly grabbed her bags and exited before the drivers could take them anywhere else. She stood there as the taxi took off as she took in her surroundings. She'd never been to Boston before and everything was just so… old.

She rolled her eyes as she looked over at Jay. “I doubt you're going to get smited, unless you manage to piss off my mother,” she said with a smirk as she looked around before pointing down a road. “That looks pretty old. Let's start that way.”

“Yeah I don’t think they care much about their rating.” Free commented as she glanced in the direction that Daven was pointing. It certainly did look old but then again a lot of things around here looked like they were right out of ye olden days. Daven probably didn't have any more of a clue than the rest of them but at least it was a direction to get them started and that was good enough for now. "That way is fine with me." She said with a shrug and started off in the direction the girl had indicated. "Maybe we can find something to eat on the way. Not like we have to waste the chance to get away from camp for a while."

Walking along with her quest mates it was really hard to keep her mind from wondering. Daven and Jay were being cute and couplely and Free just had her thoughts. That was fine with her as she wasn't much for cute and cuddly things anyways but she wasn’t content with just being a third wheel on this trip. Spotting a nearby tourist information stand she motioned for the others to stop. “Hold up a minute guys.” She said as she broke away from the two of them and rushed across the street without any explanation. The tourist stand didn’t look open but that had never stopped her before and one little trip around back and a broken lock later she was returning to the party with a map of the local attractions. “Take a look at this. Should get us around the city a little easier than just wondering around."

He gave Daven a nod in return when she said that she was okay, the ride was pretty rough and Jay admitted he probably would develop whip lash form it all. If you don't think about it, it won't happen right? Then he gave her a little grin when she mentioned pissing off her mother. That was also something that was likely to happen, Jay had a tendency to annoy people. Especially with his comments or 'bright' nature. Always smiling and stuff. "Well you never know..." He teased her, winking over at her before looking over to where she was pointing.

"Really does look old..." He mumbled to himself as Free walked off on her own, an eyebrow raising on Jay's face. "Oh bye then." Jay said confused, continuing to watch her break into a tourist stand. He rolled his eyes and then waited for her to come back, glancing down at the map when she got back. "How subtle." Jay said as he took a glance around before looking back at the map to find out where exactly they needed to go.

“I hear Boston has some good food.” Daven had no clue where they were going or what they'd find, but she figured that it beat standing around and being a still target for whatever enemy was around. So she slung her backpack onto her shoulders and nodded at Free as they took down the street. Daven was looking around as they walked to find anything resembling a church before Free stopped them.

She raised her eyebrows as Free crossed the street and broke into the tourist stand. “I don't see you doing anything that'll help us,” she said with a smirk before Free came back with a map. Daven glanced at the map before she pointed to a church marked as a historical landmark. “That's where we need to go. I recognize the name. The lanterns should be there.”

She knew that the love birds might not look favorably on her methods but Free really didn’t care. She hadn’t come on this quest to hold hands and sing camp songs and if she could put her particular talents to use to help them finish things up quicker then she would. Besides it wasn’t like anyone would miss one map of Boston so no harm was done. That being the case she gave Jay a little shrug at his comment and said dryly. “Better than wandering around the city and if we’re going to get burned up for going there we might as well commit a few sins to make it worthwhile.”

“Alright so if the church is there and we’re…” She quickly glanced up and around taking in a few of the sights and then returning to the map. It took her a moment but eventually she recognized something and pointed it out. “…here. It doesn’t look like it’s too far.” Looking up again she nodded at a path between two buildings that was up ahead. “If we cut through there we should be able to see it at least.”

Food was always a topic that would spark Jay's interest. He loved food and everything that came with it...Maybe not food poisoning though. Take outs were amazing and he did miss having them, especially pizza. "Wonder if there's any pizza places..." Jay let out, a small sigh as he glanced around his surroundings a little.

His eyes narrowed at Daven's comment about him not doing anything, it was in a playful fashion but he still tried his best not to smile back at her. "Shut up." He mumbled to her, rolling his eyes before watching the map to try and figure out where they are. Not that it seemed like he was needed, the girls seemed to be doing a fine job with using the map to locate where they were. Maybe if they need a light he would be needed, until then he just looked over at the pathway. He gave a small nod. "Feel like we need all the shortcuts we can take." He replied to Freedom, glancing between the two girls before beginning to walk to the path way.

Were they any pizza places? Probably but Daven didn't anything and instead rolled her eyes. She swore the boy thought with his stomach more than his actual head when it came to this quest. But right now, they had that actual quest in hand. She looked down at the map Freedom had and looked up at the direction she was pointing to. "It's better than what we got right now. Let's go." She nodded her head as she made her way towards the buildings that held their shortcut. Daven glanced over her shoulders a couple of times to make sure that the group was still with her and that there were no monsters tailing them. But once she reached the buildings, she took the path. She was only a couple of steps in when she stopped. Something felt off. "Do you feel like we're being watched?" she asked as she looked around, especially up, since she didn't know where those vibes were coming from.
