Whiskey Tango KRAKEN (Quest)

[Chiron]

Chiron had enough.

He had enough of these damn Krakens attacking his camp. Two Kraken attacks in the past five years were two attacks too much. He wanted to make sure that the Krakens didn't come back for a third time. That would definitely not be a charm. Chiron knew he needed to send campers to get a relic that would ward off future Kraken attacks and he knew exactly who to call for.

First, the traitor's sister. Step-sister. Whatever. They were still related. And her boyfriend who was a little too insistent on going. Whatever. Then there was a Heracles girl who probably needed to get out. Chiron really had no rhyme or reason past his first quest selection, but he knew that this quest had to be done if he wanted to keep what was left of his sanity.

So he waited in his wheelchair for the questers by Thalia's pine. They would be here any moment now. Any moment.

[Daven Davis]

Daven was packed or as packed as she hoped she could be for a quest. She had that nagging sensation in the back of her mind that she was missing something. What she was missing? She had no clue. She went over packing list after packing list. She really didn't want to leave, but she didn't want to argue with Chiron. She didn't want to stay around to witness more of the aftermath that her brother caused. The infirmary was already full and people were glaring at her. As silly as it sounds, maybe this was the way to redeem her family name.

But she grabbed her backpack and she headed towards the edge of camp to meet Chiron. She didn't know how long she would be gone from here and Jay, but she had to do what she had to do.

What was Chiron thinking? A quest? Why did he have to select her for a quest now? As far as Free knew she wasn’t really the questing type. Oh sure she was strong and pretty good in a fight but a quest? Why her? Why now?

Free sighed as she made her way towards Thalia's tree. The problem was that she hadn’t seen Audrey since the attack and that made her nervous. Free tried to keep telling herself that nothing had happened, Audrey was a survivor and she had probably just gotten separated from camp. She would be waiting for her when she got back. At least that’s what Free hoped. The other option, the option she was trying not to think about right now was much darker. What if Audrey had gotten injured in the battle with the Kraken? What if she was...No. Free wouldn't consider it. She had this blasted quest to worry about now and even though she should be out looking for her girlfriend she knew that she couldn't. Audrey would be waiting for her when she got back. She had to be.

The walk to the tree didn't improve her mood and seeing Chiron standing there was only making her more angry at him. What as even so important that they needed a quest anyways? Didn't he get that they were all still trying to recover? Gods she hoped she could get this over with fast. Sighing again she took up a spot leaning against a tree and looking at the old centaur. "Alright, I'm here. What's this all about anyways?"

Jay had been summoned up to meet Chiron up by Thalia's tree, he wasn't aware of the reasoning behind being summoned. Last time he checked he was on top of his schedule for cleaning and had still been training. No trouble whatsoever. However he did have an idea, a quest. The recent Kraken attacks had made quite the impact. Of course his girlfriend has a psycho-brother who wanted to destroy the camp, it's just Jay's luck. He'd made sure Chiron considered him to go on the quest. He needed to be able to look after Daven...Besides, quests are fun. Right?

Once he saw that Chiron was waiting, Jay sped up for the last few steps. He walked up, taking a glance to Freedom and then Chiron, leaning to the side slightly as he stood there with his hands in his pockets. Everything was packed in his bag and was ready to go. Or well, hopefully everything. He packed his bag in a rush 10 minutes before he had to leave because sleep seemed like a good enough excuse to not get ready. "What's up, Chiron?" Jay questioned, focusing his attention on the centaur.

Chiron sat quietly as he watched them come up one by one. That was annoying. Why couldn't they meet up and come here in one big group? Chiron huffed a bit. Granted, he really didn't tell each one of them who was in their group, but they were smart. They could figure things out. But once they were all up here and he had their attention, he cleared his throat. "You know the basics," he said as he nodded his head. "Go to Boston and retrieve the lanterns from Paul Revere's ride and only return when you have them." He nodded his head before he put his hands on the wheels and started moving back towards camp. "That is all. Now move it you three. Time's a ticking."

Once Daven approached Chiron, she crossed her arms over her chest as she waited for the other two. She didn't know who was in her quest group at all, just what their quest was. She eyed the girl who approached them who seemed a little rough around the edges. Just one more. And that person was Jay. Daven dropped her jaw. Was this all a joke? He shouldn't have been here. She was about to say something before Chiron spoke.

She straightened up as she turned her attention back to him as he told them of their quest. It was pretty simple and quick. Go to Boston, find the lanterns, and bring them home. Pretty simple, right? Once Chiron was done and was going back towards camp, Daven turned to face Jay with wide eyes. "What are you doing here?" she asked as she stepped towards him. "Did you just seriously volunteer for the quest?"

It was a simple quest. Just go pick up some old lanterns from Boston and bring them back. They wouldn't be gone long. She could do this and when she got back Audrey would be waiting on her. It would all work very well and if that growing suspicion that something was wrong wouldn't go away she would just have to put on her big girl pants and suck it up. That's what Audrey would want her to do.

"So that's it? Just go get the lanterns and then wave us on our way?" Free glanced at the two that would be accompanying her on this trip. They seemed to know each other which she guessed put her at a disadvantage. Whatever. She didn't care what these two were up to so long as they got a move on so that they could get this quest over with. "Well I don't know what you two think about all this but I'm ready to get on with it. The quicker we leave the quicker we can get back."

Jay listened to Chiron as he spoke about what they would be doing during the quest, it seemed simple enough if he did say so himself but he also knew that quests never were that simple. There was always unmentioned details. Ones that would put his life at risk and not make the quest enjoyable. It didn't help his girlfriend was here, attachments might not be helpful. However he'd try to help both the girls if he could.

He glanced over as Daven came over to him, sighing slightly and then turning to face her. "You just answered your own question." Jay replied back to her, shrugging. "But yes. I volunteered, that an issue?" He asked her with an eyebrow raised. He could look after himself, besides he'd be able to provide light for the trio if they needed it. Maybe he had some weird connection to the lanterns because they provided light too...Maybe but probably not. If Daven could go on the quest then he could too. When the other girl came over, Jay gave her a nod. "Yeah, we can't afford to waste the time." He replied to her, glancing over to Daven as well to see how she was handling everything before beginning to walk.

Daven blinked a couple of times as Jay sassed her slightly. He volunteered to come on the quest. With her. "Are you crazy?" she asked him as she took a step forward towards him. "It's a quest. Not some walk in the park. You're putting yourself in danger." Daven knew that she was putting herself in danger as well, but she didn't have a choice about it unlike Jay. She was about to say more on the issue when the other girl said something.

She turned around to face her as she gave a curt nod. "I agree. The faster we're done with this, the sooner I can this butt back home to safety." She nodded her head again as she made her way down the hill. "We need a car or something if we're going to make it to Boston. Anyone have any ideas?"

The love birds were apparently having a bit of an unexpected reunion. One of them wasn’t supposed to be here and it was causing some drama. Freedom really didn’t care about what was going on here or who was supposed to be where all she wanted was to get started on this quest and she hoped these two weren’t going to cause any problems. It was bad enough that she was having to leave camp at a time like this but she really didn’t want to be thinking about lovey dovey stuff when her girlfriend was missing.

“We could take the Grey Sisters’ taxi.” Free suggested from her spot away from the group. She supposed they could steal a car if they wanted to drive themselves but if time was really important they might as well get something that could get them to Boston quickly. “Unless either of you know how to hot wire a car that may be our best bet.”

Jay rose an eyebrow at Daven when she spoke about the fact it was a quest and not a walk in the park. He knew exactly what was involved during this quest and he still decided it was what he wanted to do. "I know Daven, relax. Besides I've been at this camp long enough to know how to handle myself. He replied back to her, his voice soft for the first sentence before glancing between the two girls during his second sentence. If there was ever a time where Jay would need all the training, now would be that time.

"Ghost sisters would be a good start." He agreed, nodding before beginning to walk along. They really did need to get moving. There wasn't any time to waste during a quest. "I've read things about hot wiring cars, never tried it but if we find one, it's worth a shot." Jay said with a shrug, all he needed to do was spark two wires together...Or so he thought. Everything wasn't always as easy as it seemed in movies.

[Daven Davis]

Daven pressed her lips together as Jay told her to relax. She wanted to relax. She really did. She wanted to be happy that her boyfriend was accompanying her on the quest, but all she could think about was the potential danger the two of them would run into. But she wasn't going to argue it further. Who else would they find to go on a quest last-minute? But she nodded her head. He would be fine. They would be fine. She just had to believe it herself.

But in terms of getting to Boston... They didn't have a reliable form of transportation and she doubted that Jay could successfully hot wire a car without it blowing up. "Grey Sisters it is," she said as she pulled her backpack off so she could pull out a drachma from one of the compartments. "Here goes nothing," she muttered before she started chanting in Greek as she tossed the drachma onto the road. "Stêthi 'Ô hárma diabolês."

To be honest Free had never really taken the Chariot of Damnation but she had heard enough people talking about it that it jumped out in her mind. If you wanted to get somewhere fast like they did then you might as well take advantage of some fast transportation and the Grey Sisters were supposed to be some of the fastest. She grabbed her bag when the Persephone girl started the incantation and no sooner had she finished than a dilapidated yellow taxi burst out of a cloud of smoke in front of them.

“They’ve got fast service at least.” Free commented as she walked over to the taxi and tossed her bag inside. Hopping inside herself and making room for the others she decided she should at least try to make small talk. They were all in this together and it wasn’t likely she would be able to get by without talking to her questmates for the entire trip. “So,” She said a little stiffly. “I’m guessing you two know each other. Either of you ever done something like this before?”

[Jay Sun Keon]

He gave Daven a small smile when he noticed her pressing her lips together. He would make sure he'd be okay, more for her sake than his own. She had no need to worry about him getting hurt, the quest would be all dandy and they'd be home before they knew it.

The two girls completely dismissed him hotwiring a car and he rolled his eyes slightly, standing beside Daven as they decided on the Grey sisters. He'd never seen the grey sisters in person so when the so called 'chariot of damnation' appeared in front of them, Jay's eyes widened a little. "I wonder how long ago they passed their test..." Jay mumbled quietly to the two girls, grinning to himself.

Jay followed Freedom into the Greysister's taxi, sitting in the middle. It probably wasn't going to be the safest of places for him to sit but it'd just be like a rollercoaster, right? "Yeah...She's my girlfriend." Jay replied to her, glancing over to her before looking back to the front of the car. "This is my first quest...I'm a son of Apollo for future reference."

The taxi was quick, Daven would give them that, but there was something about it that really was creepy. Daven couldn't put her finger on it and she stood there analyzing it as the others got into the taxi. She realized that she should probably follow suit and crawled into the taxi right after Jay. The smell was the first thing that made her realize that this was probably a bad idea. She tried not to gag as she got in and buckled up with the chains, but she got a good look at the drivers and almost threw up, but managed to choke it down.

But she couldn't think about how this was a bad idea now. She looked over at the girl as she smiled slightly. "I'm Daven. Daughter of Persephone. And he's Jay if you want a name for him." She shrugged her shoulders a bit as she glanced up towards the front of the taxi. "So... umm... Boston please?"
