Jessi rolled over on her side, her back towards Kurtis. She closed her eyes as she tried to steady her breathing. Everything seemed to be getting better or at least she was drifting off into the land of her parents' screams until he decided to say something. Her breathing hitched and her heart stopped when he apologized. She squeezed her eyes tighter and tried to ignore him, but he continued further.
"You don't get it, do you?" she finally spat out. She rolled over to face him as she sat up slightly to look at him. "They're dead because of me. Those harpies were coming for me." She felt her heart thumping in her chest as her blood pressure rose higher and higher. "My parents died because of me. It should be me dead instead of them." She huffed a bit as she glanced off to the side. Tears shined in her eyes as she pushed her hair back. "And sorry or me being here and okay isn't going to change it... it's never going to change..."

Jessi noticed the change of the color in Kurtis's eyes as she told her story. They were... purple. "Kurtis..." She started, but his eyes turned back to their normal color. Jessi closed her eyes and shook her head, dismissing it because of the dim lighting and the late hour.
But she waited for him to say something once her story was done. She waited and waited for him. What if he discovered she wasn't the type of girl he wanted to deal with. What if he didn't believe her. She didn't mention the part where she was training her butt off to avenge her parents' deaths.
She pressed her lips together when he finally said something. That wasn't the answer she wanted and it clearly showed in her eyes. She sighed as she closed her eyes and moved so she was close, but still had distance between them. "We should go back to sleep," she muttered to him. "I need beauty sleep..."

Jessi cocked an eyebrow at Kurtis when he said his story was going to kill the mood. She highly doubted it, but listened out his story. She cuddled in close to him as her eyes half-close as she listened to his story. She opened her eyes and looked up at him with worry when he told about his eyes almost getting ripped out.
"And you want me to follow up to your story?" she chuckled to herself as she looked up at him. She took a deep breath as she kept a straight face. "My parents were murdered by harpies before I came here." She judged his reaction before she continued. "I was in the closet when they were murdered... so all I heard were screams... screams that haunt me in my nightmares now."

As soon as Kurtis stepped between her legs, Jessi bit her lower lip as she lazily draped her arms around his shoulders. She played with him as she looked at him and studied the features of his face. The color in his face was returning so he no longer looked like that ghost she saw only a couple of minutes ago.
She avoided his eyes when he looked at her, but she was a bit tired to even keep her eyes open. She kissed him back gently before he pulled away all concerned about her nightmare. She rolled her eyes and stifled back a yawn. It was the middle of the night and getting woken up to your parents' murder wasn't the greatest way to wake up.
"You would have to go first," she muttered to him as she took his offered hand and helped herself off of the counter. Then she gently tugged on his hand to lead him back to her bed. It was the nice thing about being the only one in her cabin, she didn't have to worry about waking up siblings or having them walk in on them. As soon as they got to the bed, she crawled in first and far in enough so he could crawl in right after her.

"Mascara and eyeliner?" Jessi smirked as she pushed herself off the door frame and walked towards her boyfriend. "I knew that you were good looking, not a possible cross dresser." She stopped to lean up against the counter as he washed his face. She put her hands back on the cool stone as she watched Kurtis. "So a nightmare?" she asked before she hopped onto the counter so her legs dangled off. She was only wearing his shirt, so she wasn't leaving a lot to the imagination.
"You were pretty quiet," she said with a bit of a smirk before she reached out to prod his thigh with her leg. "You left and so did my pillow and my space heater... plus people were screaming in my dreams." She shrugged a bit as she kept the expression on her face neutral. "So yeah... I guess we both had bad dreams."

Jessi groaned as her pillow and space heater left the bed. It was cold in her cabin, despite she had the heat on. Once he vacated his side of her bed, she rolled into his warm spot as she tried to keep warm. However, her mind was far from the coldness of her cabin. She was in the hall closet back in Seattle, cowering in a corner. It wasn't long until she heard the screams of the harpies and her parents.
She jolted awake in a cold sweat. She closed her eyes and took deep breathes trying to calm herself down. It wasn't long before she noticed that Kurtis wasn't in bed with her and she opened her eyes. She squinted a bit to notice the light coming from the bathroom. She reluctantly crawled out of bed as she made her way to the bathroom. She leaned against the door frame as she crossed her arms. "Wow," she commented, "you actually can be ugly."

Dear gods, Jessi swore that walk between the beach and her cabin was one of the longest ones she'd ever done. She was getting impatient and just having her way with Kurtis behind one of the cabins was pretty tempting. However, they finally got into her cabin and not a minute too soon. She chuckled a bit as he smacked her butt and pushed her into her cabin.
"A shower sounds good," she muttered to him as she glanced up at him through her eyelashes. She couldn't help but smirk at him as he led her to the bathroom as she felt him tugging at the boxers she was wearing. She slipped her hands underneath his boxers to give his rear a firm squeeze as she closed the gap between their lips to kiss him hard.

"They would have cameras." Jessi couldn't help but raise her eyebrows at Kurtis. Were people in the Aphrodite cabin really that perverted? She heard rumors that some of them liked making their sextapes, but she thought they were legitimately rumors. But she pushed that thought out of her head as she stepped out of the water. A slight breeze came across and Jessi shivered. They would have to make it back to her cabin fast or they would have to find a way to warm up out here.
Jessi's breath caught in her chest as Kurtis pulled her in closer, but then inwardly groan as he stopped himself. "You're right," she muttered to him as she took deep breaths trying to calm herself down. Jessi didn't like having an audience, yet, for her most private moments. She smirked after Kurtis grabbed his things and wrapped an arm around her waist and placed a hand on her rear. She leaned up against him as she took the liberty of slipping her hand into the back pocket of his swim trunks. She was getting impatient, as she made him go faster so they would make it into her cabin in record time so their fun could begin.

Kurtis had his glasses knocked off. Jessi didn't mind at that moment. She had a feeling he wanted to do what she wanted to do. There was no need to use any of his magic eyes now, maybe later, but Jessi was up for experimentation.
"Mine," Jessi huskily whispered to him as she leaned in to kiss him again. "I don't have siblings. Yours could walk in at any time." Jessi didn't feel like getting interrupted at that moment. With everything she wanted to do him, she didn't have time for interruptions. She reached down to tug on his hands as she stepped back. She opened her eyes to look up at him as she bit her lower lip, trying to seduce him.

"Come on. I smell like salt and you smell like a liquor store." Jessi had to roll her eyes at his comment as she squeezed his hand. "Oh c'mon. I don't smell that bad..." She giggled a bit as she leaned up to whisper into his ear. "But I know you could definitely help me smell better." And she was waiting for him to drag her up to the cabins or even the shower, but his path started going the other way.
"Kurtis!" she whined as he pulled her into the water. It was simple for him to do so, but she wasn't really struggling at all. Hip-deep water and his boxers were sticking to her thighs, but then he decided to dump more water onto her, making his shirt become her second skin. "Hey!" she said before she did something out of the blue like he did.
She tackled him into the water, making sure that neither one of them came out dry. Once they came back up, after spitting some of the saltwater out since she didn't completely prepare herself. "Now I think we're even," she told him before she leaned in to peak him on the lips. She pulled away and smirked a bit as she pushed his hair out of his face. She glanced down at his eyes before she leaned in to kiss him again.

Jessi raised her eyebrows when Kurtis mentioned about using his charmspeak to trick someone. She was doing her best not to condone his behavior, but she couldn't help but chuckle under her breath and shake her head. "Fine. I just don't want to be hearing you had other girls in your bed besides me."
But his lips found hers again and she kissed him back, leaning in a bit towards him during the kiss. His lips pulled away far too quickly from hers, but she couldn't help but smirk. The old Kurtis was back, her Kurtis. Not the one that moped and complained while his brother was gone. Things were looking up. "Okay," she muttered back to him as she leaned in to kiss him again. She couldn't get enough of his lips, especially since she gone so long without them.

Jessi was taking deep, ragged breathes as she tried to control her anger. She didn't want Kurtis acting out in jealousy just because she was completely blindsided and enraged by this news. She pressed her lips together as she heard him out. He even swore on the River Styx, which made her curse underneath her breath. He was making a valid argument. There was no way she could rip his defense into shreds.
"Fine," she breathed out as she tried to let go of her anger and any negative emotion she had toward his confession. "I believe you." She blinked a couple of times as she narrowed her eyes at him. "But if I see you using your powers on someone else," she threatened him as she leaned in closer to him. "There isn't going to be a start over, okay?" Then she leaned in to briefly kiss him on the lips. Damn. She missed his taste and the feel of his lips against hers. "You're lucky," she muttered to him as she pulled away. "You're lucky you're sexy and make good arguments. Now can we get out of here before the nymphs spread more rumors about us?"

Jessi barely opened her eyes before Kurtis's arms wrapped around her and held her close. She smiled softly as she hugged him back slightly. Gods, she missed the feel of his arms and chest, but he wasn't going to get away that easily with a simple hug. If they were going to try this again, Kurtis still needed to repay for all those times he was being a horrible boyfriend to her.
"What?" she asked as Kurtis pulled away from their embrace with the pretense that he needed to tell her something. "You're not gay, are you? I knew it was too good to be true that there was a straight boy in the Aphrodite cabin..." She waited for him to drop the bomb, but it wasn't the bomb she was waiting for.
"What?" she cried out as she reached out to swipe his glasses away from his face so she could look at him, but he managed to grab her hand and hold it. She glared down at their grasp. "That explains so much." She hissed a bit as she glanced up at him. That was how he got her on that first day. That was how he took her to that club and almost got her in his bed. Those stupid, sexy eyes of his. "And you thought now was a good time to tell me? After you used your eyes on me so many times? You are an idiot."

Jessi rolled her eyes as she put her hands on her hips as she could tell that Kurtis was getting frustrated with her, especially when he reached down to grab his sunglasses. "What?" she snapped at him as she leaned in to get into his face. "Now you're too cool for me? You have to wear sunglasses around me? First you're my mother and now you're too cool. Make up your damn mind!" She sighed loudly as she pushed her hair out of her face. She had a feeling his powers generated from his eyes and he was protecting her from whatever emotions were running through him, but Jessi just felt like picking a fight.
She crossed her arms across her chest as she glared him down as he took a step away from her. Jessi was only a few moments away from storming away from him... well, it would have been more of a stumble, but she was quickly getting over her hangover. Her head wasn't hurting her as it was a couple of moments ago. Kurtis was struggling for words and Jessi wasn't going to hear any of it until he finally blurted it out. "Can we start over, please?" Jessi was taken aback as her arms unfolded slightly. She blinked a couple of times.
Jessi was used to holding grudges and keeping anger. She was still after those harpies who killed her parents. Forgiveness wasn't something that came easily to her, especially with her Zelus parentage. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she sighed out, "Yes... we can start over." She wouldn't admit it to him now, but she was getting lonely without him around all the time.

I'm just concerned, that's all. Jessi stopped listening to everything else he was saying as she stopped rubbing her temples. She took deep breaths while convincing herself not to do something too stupid, especially since the hangover would possibly make it worse.
She glared up at him as she huffed a bit. "And why do you care?" she snapped at him as she pulled her hands down from her temples and gripped at the sand. "You're no longer my boyfriend, so that's no longer on your list of duties... and even when you were my boyfriend, you sucked." She huffed a bit as she took a handful of sand and threw it at him. "Pushing me out of your life when your brother was gone... Well he's back now and I hope you two are effing happy together." She rolled her eyes as she pushed herself up from the sand to stand up and glare at him.
