Daphne wasn't expecting Atalanta to block the blow with her arm. She mentally cringed a bit as her sword made contact with her arm. That had to hurt. She wanted to mutter out a small sorry, but she stopped as soon as saw the fire in Atalanta's eyes. Daphne smirked in response. She could tell that a fire ignited within Atalanta and that meant that Daphne was going to be in for a hell of a fight.
Her smirk grew a bit wider as Atalanta told her to bring it. She nodded her head in agreement. She would definitely bring it. She watched as she steadied and readied herself. Daphne shifted in her stance a bit as she eyed her opponent. Oh, this was going to be fun. She let a moment or two pass before she lunged at Atalanta while swinging her sword at her legs.

"It's a position used in a lot of sports," Daphne said with a bit of a smirk as she looked over at Royce and surveyed her position. "But looking good," she said with a bit of a nod. She then turned back to the dummy as she continued on with her lesson. “Now, this is usually the hard part… swing your arm in only one direction. You’ll want to flip your wrist to move the sword, but it wastes time and energy. If you swing your sword one way, you’ll just swing back the other way. Like this.”
She demonstrated on the dummy in front of her. She went to slash at it from the bottom to the top. Then she slashed at it again, but from this time, top to bottom. “It’s definitely a lot of muscle memory,” she said as she looked back at Royce. “But if you practice it constantly, it’ll become second nature to you.”

She managed to knock Atalanta off balance, which brought a smirk to her face. Most people thought sword fights was just how to wield the sword, but the footwork and weight distribution was equally just as important. But it didn't mean that Atalanta wasn't a worthy opponent. It was the complete opposite. It was one of the best fights Daphne had in awhile.
But she dropped her sword to her side and Daphne saw her opportunity. She came back with her sword to hit the other girl across the chest. It was probably going to hurt though if Atalanta didn't block it. She was purposefully striking her with the flat of her blade.

"It's really no problem," she said as she looked over at Royce with a bit of a smile. "Well we need to get over what happened sooner or later." Daphne pulled her necklace off and it transformed into her sword in her hands. She moved it around in her hands as she got used to the weight once more. "First things first," she turned to Royce as she pointed to the edge of the blade. "Hit with the edge of the blade. That's what does the most damage. You can smack them with the flat, but that will only irritate an enemy more than anything else. And the last thing you want is a pissed off monster." She chuckled to herself as she moved her feet into the read position as she shifted her weight evenly between her feet. "And second, you want to be balanced. Last thing you want is an enemy to push you off balance in the middle of a battle. You fight better on your feet than your butt."

Just by the fact that Atalanta sidestepped out of Daphne's path that this was going to be an excellent fight. She hadn't had one of them for months, so this caused her to smirk a bit. Once she saw her attack was going to miss Atalanta, she noticed that she had an attack of her own aimed right at her side. Daphne quickly rotated on her feet and blocked the attack with her sword. She held the position as she shifted her weight so that when she tried to push Atalanta's weapon towards her, it would hopefully knock her off balance. However, Daphne also saw this fight going unpredictable as well seeing how she fought within the first few moments.

Daphne thought she was quite decent given the situation on hand. There was no way she was going to put on clothes just because these two invaded her privacy. The little girl was still not answering her, but the guy on the other hand, tossed her a jacket that was on his bed so she could apparently cover up. "So you're the new guy Chiron was telling me about," she said before she decided to make herself more decent but still reluctantly put on the jacket. "At least he could've told me exactly when you were coming. Instead of giving me a vague timeline." And she could tell he was teasing her and she rolled her eyes at it. Welcome back to having brothers.
Once she was so-declared decent, she crossed her arms over her chest as she noticed her brother stood between her and the little girl who still didn't make her intentions known. "That still doesn't explain why she's here," she said loudly as she sighed before she added, "Such a shame I would have to write up someone this young for cabin trespassing."

Daphne watched as Atalanta picked out a weapon and got into a ready position. She nodded her head when she voiced she was ready and Daphne also got into a ready position with her hands on her sword. Daphne wasn't one for making the first move. She thought it showed eagerness, but not the good kind. Plus, she believed in defensive tactics rather than offensive ones after her time in camp. She took a couple of deep breaths as she waited to see if Atalanta would make the first move. After those few moments had passed, Daphne decided to act.
She knew that Atalanta was probably a beginner, Daphne figured she could hold her own. She wasn't going to go easy on her. So with her sword, she swung in up above her head before she charged towards Atalanta as she brought her sword down towards her.

Daphne laughed a bit. Did Marius really owe her a favor? Probably, but she also couldn't tell when he would be back. For as much as she knew, she was probably stuck with the monkey forever or until it ran away. One or the other. She shook her head though. She did miss the guy, but she had to move on. And if anything came out of this, it looked like she probably made a new friend. And possibly a new sparring buddy.
"Sure," Daphne said with a smirk as she motioned Atalanta to an open area where others were sparring as well. "And you picked the right person. I'm the best sword fighter in camp, so you'll learn from the best." She chuckled as she drew out her sword as she turned around the face the Ares girl. "You ready?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow at her.

It was bad enough that two more people had to see Daphne naked, but it was even worse that they were now ignoring her. She was at least decent this time around with her towel covering her body instead of her hair. But the fact that they were avoiding her question made her mad. She could feel her skin start to tingle as it became electrified. But nobody was getting zapped today. At least, not yet.
She cocked one of her hips out and put her hands on them as she glared between the two of them. Even though Daphne caught a snippet of the boy living here once upon a time, that still didn't explain why the kid was here. "Excuse me," she said as she raised her voice a little louder. "Who the hell are you two and why are you doing in my cabin? I will write you up for trespassing if you do not answer me."

During her years at camp, Daphne was not used to having siblings in her cabin. Oh sure, they would come and go as they pleased, but none of them seemed to stick around for too long. And this was one of those periods that she hadn't had a sibling or siblings in a while, so she got used to having the entire cabin to herself. Chiron had warned her that one of her siblings was coming back to camp, but she never heard of them before nor bothered to remember what day they were supposed to move in. So that morning she had taken a shower and instead of getting dressed right away, she danced around in her room to music with only a towel wrapped around her head. Her music was already pretty loud enough in her cabin leader room that she couldn't hear anything that was going outside in the main room of the cabin.
She needed to grab something from the main cabin, so she walked over to her bedroom door to open it. However, she did not find an empty cabin. Instead, she found a guy older than her and a little girl. Daphne's eyes widened as she quickly shut the door, but it was probably too late for her to avoid embarrassment. She quickly unwrapped the towel from around her head as she wrapped it around her body so she'd be a little bit more decent. She opened the door a second time as she eyed the two strangers in front of her as she tried to keep a blush from appearing on her cheeks.
"Umm... who are you two and why are you in my cabin?"

"So how come you're stuck with him?" Even though it was a very simple and innocent question, it still struck a nerve with Daphne. Memories of that conversation with Marius as he handed Shogun to her flooded her mind. She had to shake it off. That was in the past now and she was pretty sure that Marius was never coming back, despite the brief reappearance he made back at camp. "He..." she said as she took a deep breath trying to calm herself. "He had to go find himself or something... I'm not really sure what it was, but he said that Shogun didn't really like traveling far away from camp... so he asked me to take care of him and I agreed." She smirked a bit as she glanced to where the monkey ran off. "And look what kind of trouble has followed me."

Shogun was shocked. He looked in his hands and down at the ground and back at his hands, unable to truly figure out where the toy went since Atalanta snatched it away so fast. He huffed a bit before he went over the other side of the wall to do who knows what. Daphne laughed lightly as she shook her head before turning back to Atalanta. "He's quite something, isn't he?" she asked before Atalanta asked about Shogun. Her heart stopped for a moment. It was an innocent question. There would be no way she would know the circumstances. She sighed as she moved her hair out of her face. "He's not mine originally. He belonged to my..." She couldn't bring herself to say ex, so she gulped down the words. "My best friend. He's a child of Hermes and I don't even know how he got Shogun. For all I know, he could've stolen him from a zoo."

Daphne didn't want to fly up there and grab the toy for herself, but Shogun was almost leaving her with no choice especially with the dog barking around her feet. But she heard Atalanta calling and Daphne immediately knew what she was going to do. She scooped up the dog to keep him out of they way before the Ares girl scaled up the wall and grabbed the toy from a very distracted Shogun. But once Atalanta had the toy in hand and rolled back down, Daphne put the dog down who was so ecstatic to have his toy back.
She laughed a bit breathlessly as she put her hands on her hips. "He had as tendency to get in trouble," she said in between breaths. "I just haven't seen him steal a puppy's toy yet. But I'm glad we got it back pretty easily."

Daphne nodded her head to Atalanta's comment before she took off chasing after the monkey. She could almost hear the comedic chase song that they used in the cartoons as she chased after Shogun. Of course this monkey gave her nothing but problems since Marius left her with him. But there was no in moaning about it now, especially since Daphne was pretty sure that the dog didn't like anyone taking away its toy and there might've been consequences to pay.
So she dodged around dummies and other campers practicing as she followed the monkey. There was adrenaline pumping in Daphne's system, especially since she had to avoid swinging swords while unarmed. But finally, it looked like they were going to corner Shogun, but he scaled the wall to get out of their grasps. He sat there at the edge taunting them with the toy as he chattered. "Give it here, Shogun," Daphne said as she extended a hand to the monkey. "Do not make me come up there."

A quick, but strong handshake told Daphne enough that this girl could hold her own. Maybe she was new to camp, but she wasn't new to the challenges demigod life could present itself. Besides, Atalanta was also a daughter of Ares and that spoke volumes to Daphne. "Lycaon is definitely one cute pup. I have a monkey.." Daphne looked towards the walls of the arena and noticed that Shogun was missing. She scrunched up face before she looked back at Atalanta. "Well... he's around here somewhere. His name is Shogun."
But Atalanta wanted to know if she was going to get in trouble for breaking the dummy as Daphne laughed and shook her head. "Nah. If that was the case, too many of us would get in trouble for breaking these things." She elbowed the dummy she was closest to. "I keep telling Chiron we need stronger dummies but he never listens. But I wouldn't really worry about it." And that's when a flash of fur darted out of the corner of Daphne's eyes and before she could react, a monkey grabbed the toy the dog was chewing on. "SHOGUN!" Daphne screamed as the monkey darted away with his loot.
