Her hand stung and she winced a bit after her hand made contact with his face. She cursed underneath her breath as she shook out her hand while Marius was muttering about deserving it. He deserved it and a lot more, but Daphne didn't know if she could do more than one slap. She crossed her arms across her chest as she looked at her ex, trying to blink back the tears. She tried to fight them back, she really did, but it was a loosing battle.
"You left me," Daphne hissed between her teeth as she held herself tighter. "You left me and you come back expecting that a 'hi' will be enough?" She choked back a sob as she shook her head and looked down at her feet. "Why did you bother coming back? You're probably going to leave again anyway."

Daphne followed Shogun deeper into the woods as she kept a tight grasp on her necklace. She heard a rustling and she was about to yank it off to have her trusty sword with her, but she heard a voice. A very familiar voice. Her chest tightened as she froze for a moment as the emotions overcame her. He was back after far too long and Daphne didn't know how she felt about it.
She let go of her necklace and lowered her hand as she stepped into the clearing to face him. And there he was in flesh and blood. Marius Rodomonte. Her ex. Her chest tightened up again and tears welled up in her eyes as those emotions came back. Happiness. Sadness. Anger. Hurt. They flooded her at the same time and it almost proved to be too much, but she knew what she had to do. It was what she was planning if she ever saw him alive again. He was trying to make small talk as her skin electrified as she walked over to him. She didn't say anything as she raised one of her hands and struck him across the face with as much force as she could muster.

Daphne couldn't remember how long that Marius was gone on his journey of self-discovery with awesome 80s music. She didn't know if he was ever coming back or not, but Shogun kept acting up the longer he was gone. First, he was causing more and more chaos around camp and then he kept bringing her daggers that looked scarily looked like the ones Marius used. Daphne swore the monkey was was going to drive her insane, until today. The monkey kept beckoning her to follow him. Why she should follow a monkey, but he wasn't giving up so she finally followed him. And where he lead her to? The forest? Just her luck. He was probably leading her to some monster attack or something. She wouldn't put it past Shogun. But she followed him deeper into the forest as she kept a hand on her necklace just in case things took a turn for the worse. (Tag: Marius Rodomonte ) |

Cody? Daphne looked up at the creature and finally saw the boy riding it for the first time. Her eyes narrowed as a strong sense of betrayal washed over her. He led that monster back to their camp after what all it had done to them? It destroyed too much the first time around, but this time it was trying to destroy Daphne's home. And it was no wonder why the Zeus girl took it a little too personally.
Her look hardened before she tore her eyes away from Cody to look at Hitomi. "I want to try to electrocute the Kraken," she said calmly, but quickly just in case the Kraken tried to attack them since they were so close. "But it's in the sea which is your father's domain. I need your help so my powers hopefully work. Are you with me?" she asked as she offered a hand to Hitomi. It was a long shot, but it was the best chance they had killing the creature. And if Cody got hurt or killed in the process, then they had one less traitor to worry about.

Daphne was still unconscious as she free fell from the sky, but once she hit the water she woke up. She took deep, laboring breaths as her lungs burned and her body ached. But once she realized that she was on top of the water, that was setting her down on the shore and that the Kraken was still attacking camp, the adrenaline started kicking in. Her pain dulled as she took a moment on the shore to compose herself before she sat up. Right around the same time a swarm of Hermes kids came to help her.
"I'm fine. I'm fine," she insisted as she pushed them off of her. "I don't need to go to the infirmary. You need to fight that damn monster." But she got onto her feet as she looked at the monster. It was still mostly submerged in the water. She could use her electricity to zap it, but she wasn't sure if it would carry in Poseidon's domain. Poseidon... "Hitomi!" Daphne called out as she ran towards the shore. "Hitomi!"

Could she do something about this storm? The first time since battle started, Daphne finally noticed the weather. Of course, it didn't affect her as badly, but she still found herself struggling against the wind a bit. But the storm? She could possibly do something about it. She closed her eyes as she concentrated on making the storm go away or, at least, focus on making it less severe. The started first with the thunder and lightning, since that something she knew how to control, but the monster was affecting it somehow. Making it difficult to control. She scrunched up her face while she floated in the sky as she fought it and tried to harness the lightning.
But, of course, she forgot for a brief second that there was a Kraken and that she was fully in its line of attack. She never saw the tentacle coming. It hit her body full force as she felt the wind forced out of her lungs. Her chest hurt. Her whole body hurt. The blow caused her to loose consciousness for a few seconds and she dropped out of the sky.

Daphne heard those monster cries once before but she was on a different side of the battle as a prisoner. But that was not the case now, but history was wanting to repeat itself and that was something Daphne could not allow. She snapped awake as she immediately put on her armor and grabbed her sword before dashing out the door. She paused for a moment as she could see the monster from the distance, but didn't see the person controlling it. There were so many new campers around. So many that didn't remember the previous monster attack. She had to take charge. She wanted to make sure that they never faced another-related fatality again. So she ran towards the beach, but ended up flying since it was faster.
"STAY AWAY FROM ITS TENTACLES!" she cried out to the campers below her. "IT WILL GRAB YOU AND IT WILL EAT YOU! AIM FOR THE EYES OR THE UNDERBELLY! THOSE SHOULD BE THE WEAKEST POINTS!" Hopefully this battle would turn out better. Hopefully.

Her hand felt like it had its own pulse. That's how bad it hurt as it throbbed while the boy was examining it. Her eyes were a bit teary as she grit her teeth as she would hiss out in pain once in a while. But once she thought she would get some relief, the boy gave her two options. Two options that were not helping her pain in that exact moment.
"Dammit, Apollo," she hissed underneath her breath just loud enough for the boy to her. She took a deep breath before she said a little bit louder, "I don't care." She glared at him as she spoke. "I don't care. Whichever is the better option. Just make the pain stop." Right then, she realized she was being a tiny bit rude before she grimaced before adding, "Please?"

Daphne's adrenaline was really pumping as she barely avoided that near miss with the boulder. She glanced up as she surveyed the wall and mentally mapped out a path that would get her the least killed or, at least maimed. Once that path was mapped out, she started climbing up the wall. She was being careful climbing up there, but at the same time, she wasn't paying attention. She was about three-fourths of the way up the wall when disaster struck.
She grabbed onto a rock and was about to hoist herself up when a flow of lava opened up right above her hand. She didn't really have time to react as it burned the top of her hand and her fingers before she had the chance to pull away. She screamed as she pushed herself off of the wall and flew back a couple of feet. She hovered in the air as she muttered colorful words underneath her breath and held her injured hand close. She swore underneath her breath as she saw how bad the burn was before she glanced around to find the medic on duty.
Once she was able to pinpoint him, she flew over his place. Once she landed in front of him, she thrusted her injured hand towards him as she muttered, "Burn. Please. Help." She winced a bit as she tried to keep the tears out of her eyes.

“Point taken,” Daphne said as she nodded her head as she listened to Hitomi’s reasons for not picking up a sword. “You can also look into it when you're older. They are sometimes a weapon that you need to grow into.” But she looked over to the archery range as a sour look crossed her face for a moment. “You'll need to talk to an Apollo kid or maybe hit up a hunter. I don't do that thing at all.”
But she looked back at Hitomi and raised her eyebrows at her. “You want to spar?” she asked as Shogun hopped off of her shoulders. “I could probably use it just as much as you do,” she said as she rested her hand in the hilt of her sword as she nodded towards an empty area in the arena. “C’mon. Over there is a good place to spar.”

“That would make two of us,” Daphne muttered as she reached up to push her hair out of her face as she looked over at Shogun. Maybe that was why he acted out the first time because he missed Marius. Daphne missed him too. Not only was he her best friend, he was also her boyfriend. And now, he was neither. And her and Shogun had to work this out one way or another.
She looked back at Hitomi as she went through the barrel of spears, looking like she was looking for the right weapon. She eyed the barrel before she walked up to one and pulled a spear she'd been eyeing. “Try this one,” she said as she handed it to the girl. “This might be what you're looking for. Have you tried a sword? I can teach you how to use one if you want me to. I'm one of the best sword fighters in camp.”

Could Shogun do worse than some monster attacks? Probably not, especially with some of the attacks that Daphne had lived through especially with Marius. But sometimes it felt like he really could after that one time he turned her cabin upside down after that one time she babysat him. But now that he was hers? Daphne didn't know what in the Hades she was going to do with him besides let him wreck havoc on camp.
But once the girl said she wasn't used to being away from home, Daphne nodded her head in understanding. A lot of the kids around here had a problem with homesickness, but the Big Three never had anyone so young in a while. It was understandable. Daphne was the same way when she first joined before she found her little niche at camp.
She raised her eyebrows at the girl when she started talking about animals. Daphne looked up to Shogun who was just sitting contently on her shoulder before he was offered a piece of dried apple. He snatched away the offering before he nommed on it and Daphne giggled slightly. "I think he considers me a friend. I mean he's my..." Boyfriend? Ex? She didn't know what to call Marius and she was at a loss for words trying to find the right ones to describe him. "Best friend's pet. He gave him to me to watch over while he's gone. He likes me and I like him. I don't know why he likes misbehaving so much." She turned back to the girl before she nodded her head. "I'm Daphne. You said you were a Poseidon? I'm just a couple of cabins down in Zeus."

"Except I didn't ask for anyone to help me," Daphne said a bit too harshly as she paused for a moment and took a deep breath. For some kid, she definitely knew how to rub her the wrong way. "Trust me," she said in a lower voice. "People leave and you can't depend or trust anyone but yourself." And she nodded her head to agree with herself. She'd been taking care of herself just fine before she met Achilles and Marius and they had to leave her here and heartbroken. Well, that was enough with her. She didn't need stupid boys trying to ruin her life anyway. "Trust me," she almost said with a quick laugh, "with this monkey acts, it may be as worse as a monster attack." The kid was a Poseidon brat. Daphne thought that daughters of the Big Three needed to stick together, but she didn't know if she wanted to be associated with this brat.
And she was about to leave again before the girl spoke to her again, but this time it wasn't harsh. Daphne paused again before she turned around and looked at the girl and for the first time saw her as someone who wasn't going through her edgy phase. She was just a kid who was still getting used to camp and probably missing her old life. Daphne was the same way a few years ago, even if she never really spoke to her mom after she got kicked out of the house because she wasn't an Apollo spawn. "You take the mail to the Big House," Daphne said in a gentler tone than before. "They have a mailbox right on the porch and then inside they have a little basket that holds all the mail they receive."

Daphne was too wrapped up in her own mind and the fact that the stupid little Capuchin monkey would not behave to notice that there was anyone else in the arena with her. She wiped away her tears and reached down to grab her sword she had thrown when she heard a voice directed towards her. And not a sympathetic voice either. Daphne took a couple of deep breaths as she picked up her sword and whirled around to see who was talking at her.
It was some kid. Anybody that was thirteen years old or younger was still considered a kid to Daphne. She rolled her eyes as she turned on her heels to collect her monkey ward. "I'm guessing you're going through your edgy phase, right? You do know it's okay to scream and cry, even if they does make your face blotchy." Daphne had no interest in picking a fight with a kid when she had a monkey to somehow contain. She stuck an arm for Shogun to jump and crawl up to her shoulder before she sheathed her sword. "Trust me when I say this is him being tame." Daphne rolled her eyes as she walked towards the exit. "Otherwise, he'd be tearing up the cabins and I have no doubt yours would be one of them."

Daphne never asked for a monkey as a pet, but here she was stuck with one. Marius decided that he needed to discover himself, again, after living with that extra voice in his head for so long. And he didn't want Daphne or Shogun to tag along with him, so he left them both at camp. Daphne now had a broken heart and a monkey she could barely take care of. She babysat Shogun once before and the little rascal managed to tear her cabin apart in a few days. So she knew a little bit better than before.
She took Shogun out to the arena where she could hopefully get some training to get her mind off of her ex and Shogun would have plenty of space to run and play. Well... that plan didn't exactly go the way she wanted it to. Shogun kept getting into trouble with knocking over barrels of swords and stuff. Daphne could barely concentrate for a few moments before something bad happened.
And she about lost it after he did it for the fifth time. She screamed in frustration as she threw her sword onto the ground as she kicked at it. "WHY CAN'T YOU BEHAVE!" she screamed at her sword even though it was intended for Marius. She took a deep breath as tears welled up in her eyes and she swiped furiously at them. "Why can't anything go well," she muttered to herself.
