"I can agree with that." Drake said as he considered her thoughts on the sugar. Fortunately it seemed his compliment had gone unnoticed. He still wasn't quite sure what Kaylee thought of him other than just hanging out with him as a friend and it wasn't worth scaring her away because he did think she was a pretty cool girl. "I don't know how so many people drink it bitter like that. Same way with coffee really."

Drake reached over to scratch Timber behind the ears as Kaylee continued talking and gave her a grin as she went on about holding the flag for her cohort. He imagined things would be a little different if Kaylee was in the first but being that she was in the fifth he was glad they had found a way to let her contribute. "Oh yeah?" Drake said with interest. "You know I've seen you out there during field exercises. It always make you easy to pick out on the battlefield. I would come over to talk but I think my sister would kill me if the praetor and centurions didn't get to me first. Still, you look good out there. Definitely looks like you know what you're doing."

Drake couldn’t help but chuckle. Here he was looking all over Rome for his dog and it turned out that he was sitting here all dressed up and having a tea party of all things. He guessed he should probably be mad that Kaylee had dognapped poor Timber but just looking at the situation before him he was finding it hard to do anything but laugh and the fact that Kaylee was talking to him like this was all normal made it even better.

“A tea party huh?” He said and he hunkered down beside his dog giving the pupper a good back scratch. “I think this might be a first for him but it’s good to hear he’s been behaving.” Seeing Kaylee stop pouring Timber lowered his head and began to lap at the bowl thirstily. Now that Drake was here too he really didn’t have any need to be any place else and he could just enjoy himself while the humans talked. “I guess I could hang out for a bit. It’s the least I could do since you’ve been keeping my dog company. Have you two been having fun?”

Sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you. I'm pretty sure I died this past week. In any case I say we fire up something at least for Drake and Ed. We can try them out and maybe add a Jen or Tawny thread as well if you like. At least that's what I'm thinking.

Alright I'm going to throw all my Romans at you and you can see if any catch your fancy.

Jen and Edmund
Jen is a loud mouth, cocky, fun loving daughter of Fortuna that is usually getting in to trouble somehow. I'm not sure how these two will turn out but that's more because Jen is such an unpredictable character. She may end up liking his more abrasive characteristics because she is naturally abrasive herself or she may take offense and end up fighting. With Jen it's anyone's guess how a given situation will go but she'll definitely have fun no matter what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tawny and Edmund
Tawny is a laid back and carefree skater girl and daughter of Somnia. She probably wouldn't be bothered by his attitude and would be friendly toward him unless he really gave her a reason not to be. Her motto is to live and let live so she wouldn't push him too hard one way or the other. If he decided she was cool that would be fine with her and if he wanted to keep her at arms length she would be down with that as well. Easy going is the key and with the ability to let most things roll off her back she might be a candidate for an goodish relationship.

Celeste and Edmund
A 1st cohort member associating with someone from the 5th cohort might not be a common social dynamic in New Rome but Celeste probably wouldn't care. She is a bit on the reserved side so she probably wouldn't go out of her way to talk to him and she has a lot of insecurities so she probably wouldn't take it well if he was too blunt with her but she is a generally good and caring person if Edmund doesn't run her off. xD

Alexander and Edmund
Alex is generally pretty busy working in the infirmary to bother getting to know people too well. Unless Edmund winds up in need of medical attention they may never meet as even when he's off duty his mind is busy thinking about work. He's another 1st cohort member and he's probably a bit deeper in the political intrigue of New Rome than Celeste is but if you could get him to open up he might slowly develop a friendship. Still, he's got a very no nonsense kind of attitude and these too might clash more than get along especially considering that Edmund doesn't particularly like medical personnel.

Austin and Edmund
Austin would be in the same cohort as Edmund and they might slowly hit it off. Austin is pretty easy to get along with though a bit nervous and awkward if he doesn't know you. That said he tries to be a good guy and see the best in people so he wouldn't totally be turned off if Edmund was a bit difficult with him. Might not be the easiest relationship but they could probably be pals with a little work.

Cam and Edmund
Cam is one of the centurions for the 2nd cohort and a son of Jupiter. He's usually pretty busy handling leadership responsibilities but when he breaks away he might run into a member of the 5th. If so he wouldn't mind taking some time to try and get to know Edmund. He would probably fall into the neutral category more than anything else though as they might not have enough reasons to just keep bumping into each other.

Drake and Edmund
Drake is a slacker member of the 1st cohort. He is much more interested in playing video games and his guitar than actually being a stuffy Roman with all the family duties. That said he is pretty easy going and could be a good match if you're looking for positive interactions even though Edmund might not like Drake's association with cold weather.

Kaylee sounded like she didn’t have much confidence in her doggie abilities which seemed a little strange since Timber had taken to her so well. Drake didn’t know if she would be able to teach his dog anything or not but the positive vibes he was picking up off her certainly made him think that it was at least worth a shot. If nothing else he thought both Timber and Kaylee would enjoy the opportunity to see each other again.

Drake gave her a chuckle. “Don’t worry about it Kaylee. If he picks up something that’s fine but really I think he will just be happy to see you.” Timber barked and wagged his tail as Drake grabbed his things and prepared to leave. “The place isn’t far which is probably good. Don’t want to get caught out in the snow.” Drake shouldered his guitar case and gave her a wink. As he did so he used his powers to gather up some of the moisture in the air and create a personal little snow flurry for the three of them. It wouldn’t be enough to cover any surfaces on a day like today but as the small snowflakes began to fall he was reminded that the whole point of having cool ice powers was that you got to put them to use every once in a while. “Well, would you look at that…”

“Never know until you try and you seem like a pretty cool girl.” She did seem pretty cool and he didn’t think he would care if she ended up not being much good at it or not. The lessons were just an excuse to hang out with her again anyways. “No reason to worry about it now though. Just something to think about.” He gave her a smile and listened to her talking about the dogs nodding in agreement at her conclusion. “Very true. They make pretty good friends but aren’t really the best at giving an unbiased opinion on music. People are a lot better at that and I do appreciate it.”

Just as he expected Kaylee jumped at the opportunity to play with Timber. She was obviously excited and he liked that about her. He just hoped Timber wouldn’t totally mess up his game right now as even with treats he had a tendency to get distracted sometimes. Fortunately Timber seemed to be following the treat pretty attentively and that gave Drake a little hope.

Holding his breath as Kaylee gave her command Drake watched as his dog turned his head to the side obviously weighing his options. ’Come on buddy, don’t make me look a fool.’ He thought as he willed Timber to obey and then finally, to his relief, the dog laid down in front of Kaylee with his tail wagging expectantly. “I think you’re a natural. I’ve never seen him take to anybody this quickly. You sure you’re not some kind of dog whisperer or something?”
