The son of Zeus would raise his left hand to his chin in a feigned pensive mood, offering a quick "Hmm” for good measure, before laughing somewhat self-depricatingly and accepting the terms placed before him. "You drive a hard bargain Gracie, but you've got yourself a deal.” - he said, before reaching into his bag and delivering his celestial bronze tools one by one, as requested.
Having always had a fascination with the forge himself, Adam would spend a few moments in an ethereal nirvana-like state, enthralled by its fires, before his thoughts dragged him down to solid ground. Genie had always had her own idiosyncrasies and somehow, lamb tail-shakes as units to measure time fit the girl to a T. Rather, his mental monologue this time revolved around would come of a girl like this's idea of love and how it'd apply to him when she proceeded to attempt to set him up. Because, at this point, there was no denying she wanted to try it. Mulling over whether or not to dispel the fantasies that she may be concocting as they spoke, Brontes ultimately figured to let her have her thoughts. There'd be plenty of time to draw lines in the sand in the future if she somehow went overboard, which didn't really feel like her style. He'd certainly been wrong before but, deciding to trust his eye for people, the man decided to leave that subject untouched, lest it escalate. It was better, then, to go with the low-hanging fruit.
"You like to see lambs shake their tails, huh?" - he said with a smile on his face, no doubt asserting that he'd seen through her, mostly to see how the smith would react. "So, then. There's the forge, and the girlfriend. We've established that much. What else? What passes for fun around Camp, nowadays? - he inquired. Truthfully, the two had very different ideas of fun, he'd wager, but it never hurt to ask. Stranger things happened every day in this land of Gods and monsters, after all.

Just as the man prepared to sketch a smile, or perhaps even let loose a few chuckles at the sight of his newfound younger sister being pushed to the ropes by this small child, in came the fat cow remark. For a son of lightning, lover of swords, bows and spears, a man who lived on the blade's edge, this rather comment, akin to a mace, was far too blunt for his taste. The efficacy couldn't be denied, but it lacked the finesse he found so amusing in this little game he oh so enjoyed. As such, rather than it (although it couldn't exactly be ignored), what really drew his attention was the fact that this pocket-sized troublemaker had wasted no time in using him as a perhaps not-so-proverbial meat shield, effectively using his own play against him. The fact that such a young child had played him in such a way stung. That much, was undeniable. Thankfully, his skin was far too thick for it to do any 'real' damage, and for remarks like Mr. Old Guy to even stick in any way, shape or form.
That said, Adam had lived at camp for a long time and, while children of Zeus weren't common, their stories were well documented... He knew better than anyone that his levelheaded temper was a rarity among his kin. And, having just met Daphne, there was no way he could tell how far this would impact her although, like Maddie, he wagered it had cut deep.
Zeus was the God of Justice and, unfortunately, this apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Far too moralistic and prideful to possibly allow an irate sibling of his to ever come close to harming someone this young, Brontes allowed the little imp to duck behind him and remain there. With a bruised pride, Brontes would sigh inwardly, accept he'd lost this first round... to a ten year-old... shoulder the title of Switzerland and take on the task of keeping the discussion from going too far overboard, for the time being.
Adam was then forced to do the one thing he could do in this situation and resigned himself to silence, awaiting Daphne's reaction before making a move himself.
The one upside to this whole ordeal was now the fact that any doubts he had of the young agitator being blissfully ignorant of her antics were just about out the window at this point which meant that, in his eyes, this miniature rascal was growing more interesting by the minute.

Adam Brontes's drug of choice is control, and alcohol of course, but mostly control. His particular type control is difficult to spot because it is not the more common variety. It is a subtle thing, like being the one who asks the questions, or deliberately answering either too much, or too little, cracking certain jokes, resorting to flattery or even insult, all to steer people into or away from certain directions. In this way, all interactions, no matter how invasive they may be, would flow towards environments of his choosing, where most lines delivered by other parties are more or less within the realm of the expected, and unforeseen events are kept to a minimum. This, is part of why the man's so adept at paying closer attention to the more minute details of their responses.
For the jaws of men like this to drop takes quite a bit. For them to be left perplexed, or with no witty retort left in the bag, takes a special kind of occurrence. And, to someone like Adam, who sees life as a series of challenges, anyone capable of leaving him in that kind of position deserves respect. This son of Zeus is not as sore a loser as his divine parent and will, at times, be the first to tip his hat to those who've bested him at his own game, regardless of whether they did so intentionally, incidentally or accidentally. Even if Adam's proverbial thumbs up aren't as evident as they should be, from time to time, or if the reason behind the subtle praise is lost on the recipient - this might just be one of these cases, Adam felt - the man will hold on to these moments, and these people will be moving up, in his mind.
"I could ask around especially if you’re goin’ta be here a while." she'd said. A single, dry cough emerged from the man's throat, followed by a handful of chuckles. The laugh was short and nearly silent - he wouldn't want to make Genie too conscientious of the very free-spiritedness he found so refreshing - but he could feel the hints of tears forming on the corner of his eye. Though short-lived, this was the purest he'd laughed in quite a while. The line had caught him so off-guard it'd felt akin to a bucket of freezing water to the face, or a good old sock on the jaw, piercing through his many defences and giving him a good shake. A smile of sheer entertainment he could not contain showed from ear to ear, as he pondered over how to best tell this particular ray of sunshine in front of him she was most definitely not allowed to change. Ever.
"Not even five minutes into the conversation and you're already offering to put in a good word for me with your friends, eh? I must've done something right.” - he said, allowing these words to simmer in the air for a good long while, before being reminded of the girl's previous question: "Oh, and I don't really know how long I'll be. I've no plans, really. Just playing it by ear.”

Adam would cease his actions for a moment, having heard Harper's mention of a storm heading Camp's way. Chiron had told him some of it but, in the centaur's way, he had not wanted to worry him needlessly. The full story could only have been gotten by campers, and it had seemed this particular girl before him had a unique, unfortunate perspective on the matter. Never one to betray his thoughts, the man's face would sketch a smile, tap the girl's bottle with his own. "First you're day-drinking and now you're swearing? Never took you for a bad influence, Jones." - he said between laughs, before moving to take a sip of his nice, cold beer.
Harper had spotted another man in near them and called them over. Brontes naturally assumed them to be frien-... ... ...
Well, this son of Zeus hadn't quite seen a tumble like that since... maybe ever. His cousin - judging by the earth spewing green flame around him - certainly knew how to make an entrance. He did not seem to have incurred any injuries, so that was that. Adam never had been a believer in pity. It was always better to face the situations and then allow the dust to settle. Adam was now quite literally between brooding cousins in one of the most awkward situations he'd been in quite a while. "You sure? Because even I feel like drinking, and all I did was watch that." - Brontes spoke, presenting a bottle to the newcomer in what now began to look like some form of signature move.
The Sky Father's son would continue, his tone as serene as ever. He seemed almost unfazed by the situation before him. "Grab a seat, have a beer, and we can can see if your second impression'll be as memorable as your first. How does that sound?"

Long Island, Camp Half-Blood | The Fight in the Dog | Arena
It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. Mark Twain Training. This had always been one of Camp’s great mysteries to Adam. Why? Because there was no conceivable, logical way that he should enjoy it. And yet he did. Combat was different. Predatory, powerful, mind over man and superiority among your peers. Combat was primal and incredible, especially if you won, but even if you lost. To enjoy cutting one’s teeth is the mark of a predator, and the man had the blood of one of the greatest in the history of the world pulsing through his veins. But that wasn’t training.
Training was grunt-work dialled up to eleven. Repetitive, exhausting, dull drills that would only ever stop if you weren’t doing them right. Logically speaking, people should do these things exclusively out of necessity. It was a dog-eat-dog world out there and, for those of immortal descent, this metaphor and others like it rang far less figuratively than they should… and this demigod had the scars to prove it. And yet, Adam had always found he enjoyed these tedious tasks.
It was something this son of Zeus had been trying to wrap his mind around for years. Anyone could see there was a certain testosterone-driven charm to repeatedly bashing something, not to mention an aspect of catharsis when one would channel all the built-up aggression in the body and let it run wild, but there was more to it than that. A certain je ne sais quoi. An Apollo kid or some other Muse-driven poet might compare it to a dance, and there was a certain annoying aspect to that, not simply because he couldn’t quite refute it, but because it seemed to clash with his man-pride for some reason.
Image had never been too important to Brontes, but he had somewhat cultivated himself as a man of acquired tastes, and this brutish activity had always struck him as being a little off in this picture he’d painted of himself.
”Boys will be boys, I suppose”, Adam told himself with a half-derisive smile as the layer of perspiration covering his body soaked the cotton shirt beneath the leather chest piece, or bunched up into droplets and ran down exposed skin until it reached an edge and fell to the ground. A sword gripped in his right hand flurried at the wooden dummy before him, the occasional chip flying out. The blade was tinged with the golden-brown tonality campers would associate with Celestial Bronze - a son of the Sky Father had means, it seemed.
The surroundings echoed with thuds as sword met wood, some hard, some soft, threaded only by the rustling of steps and the occasional crackling of electric sparks around him - an unavoidable tell that this particular spawn of Zeus was having more fun than he’d care to admit.
As the set drew to a close, Adam grasped his knees to regain of breath and allow for the cold air to cool his body. For the first time in a good while, the demigod looked around him, to inspect his surroundings and decide whether to continue with training, or call it a day.

Adam's smile would vanish from his face for a few moments as he sized up the girl standing before him. She couldn't be older than twelve. His head tilted to one side as his brows furrowed ever so slightly: the look of a man in thought. This particular demigod had always been proud of his ability to label people in record time and yet, this child before him seemed to be throwing him for a loop. Once again Brontes questioned himself on just how innocent the child was, because her words did not sound too far off from what one might expect from a particularly bright child, but he could not help but shake the feeling that there was a more than fair bit of not-so-innocent instigating oozing from her tiny frame. Camp had always had its fair share of the unexpected, but a ten year-old with this kind of insight might just register off the charts. Confused, a little paranoid and a little angry at having allowed himself to follow this little conspiracy theory - something he had assuredly inherited from the master conspirator himself - Brontes stopped in his tracks and took a breath.
When a problem proved too confusing, the best thing to do, he found, was to table it for a moment and grab a palate cleanser... And he knew just the thing:
Though clearly angry at having been spotted in the nude, Daphne now seemed to have lost all notion of putting proper clothing on, no doubt having forgotten the idea that she was still very much in indecent display in front of a child, in favour of asking... nay, demanding an explanation for this heinous crime the duo had committed against her. One she had no issue with perpetuating until she'd obtained retribution. She's her father's daughter alright... - he thought to himself as his mind finally returned to the real world.
The sister was now striking a full blown pose, with some of the some of the few dry hairs in her head beginning to rise up into the air. A consequence of static buildup. Boiling point was in sight, it seemed.
Adam, who'd been cornered by two particularly strong-minded members of the female persuasion, remained by his bed and personal items. As such, in a swift motion, the man would grasp a nearby jacket and toss it at Daphne with the added remark: "I have to say I'm flattered by the greeting but, by the looks of it, you are my baby sister. So, I'm going to have to side with the little one on this: clothing should very much remain on... Wouldn't you agree?" - Brontes spoke with the same calm tone he typically sported, something which very much clashed with the implications of his words.
Unable to resist the temptation of adding just a little extra fuel to an already volatile situation, the man would flash Daphne a friendly smile before pressing on with his speech: "Kudos on the forwardness, though. It's good to feel comfortable in your own skin."
Ithaca's scion would then take a step forward and approach Maddie, positioning himself between his sister and the mystery girl, a subtle reminder to his apparently hot-headed sister to mind her words in front of such an adorable, 'impressionable' child. Tilting his head down to face what he now believed to be a rather curious interloper, Adam would remark: "Although I tend not listen to him as much as I should, you I don't believe Chiron told me about. How interesting."

Adam had always had a soft spot for these blissfully unaware people. Their lives seemed simpler... purer. Perhaps it was their lack of awareness towards the subtleties of the world around them that allowed them to accept the harshest of realities. By lack of understanding they remained... sane. They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no residue behind, just as a grain of corn will pass undigested through the body of a bird.
For one such as himself, who decided from a young age that understanding these subtleties, acknowledging these interstices, would be the very thing that solidified his chances at survival, these people seemed... What did they seem like? What ever it was, it was appealing. Most people portray themselves as capable players of this complex game - even if it really isn't true - and those types he's never really felt much remorse in misleading or tricking. But to not be aware of the game itself... that kind of innocence he himself had never been privy to, and it felt like something that should be protected so that those lucky enough to have it could have a shot at keeping it.
About half-way through his little inner rant, the man had realised he'd simply been pensively staring at Genie moving back into the steaming forge she'd just left for the better of a handful of seconds. A quick chuckle escaped his lips as he reminded himself that his father was the God of Justice after all, and wondered if this was one of the good person aspects he'd inherited from dear old dad.
Finally deciding to wrap up the slew of weapons carefully placed around him and place them back into the bag, the man would raise from his seat and follow the teen into her domain.
"Why thank you. You've got more faith in me than I do myself, it seems..." - she didn't... she reeeeally didn't, but it was a nice little white lie to say, and Adam did like to earn points when and where he could - "I've been back a few days. Not too long, just enough to catch some shut-eye and get used to living here all over again. Gotten myself a new sister, it seems. She seems nice. A bit forward at times," - he said, being reminded of their, shall we say, memorable first encounter - " but nice. And yourself? How go things with this new girlfriend of yours?"

With a soft laugh, the man returned the flask to his bag, amused at the fact that his little joke had gone over the drowsy Genie's head. ”I don't actually know what time it is.” - he remarked between chuckles, swivelling his head from side to side ever so slightly, with no intention of explaining the actual joke.
”And I'm afraid so." - he added in a playful tone, no doubt a reply, to the tinkerer's 'Is it really you?' inquiry. ”Not dead just yet.” Leaving his words hanging in the aether for a bit, Brontes would return the xiphos on his lap to the floor and turn to face his niece. ”It's nice to see you too, Gracie. It seems you've grown up quite a bit since I last laid eyes on you. You've gotten pretty, it seems. I'm a fan." - he added. Two years might not be much of a of a difference between a 21 and a 19 year-old, but back when he left he was 17 and Genie 15, and that was something else entirely. When you add in the fact that this niece of his had always been quite petite, it was interesting for Adam to see someone he'd always regarded as a little girl now considerably closer to a made woman. Not to mention that, as he recalled, she flustered rather easily. It was adorable. Considering she was always such a good sport as well, his old gang rather enjoyed seeing this daughter of the Fire God blush.
After a few moments of reminiscence, ”Now then, Madam Blacksmith... Would you do me the pleasure of helping out with the goods, or shall I leave you to your beauty sleep?" Brontes inquired, motioning towards the weapons beside him with his eyes.

At Daphne's entrance into the room, Adam's eyes moved to inspect the interloper. She was naked, and darted out of the door as quickly as she'd come in. As soon as the door closed behind her, the man's left eyebrow rose slightly, no doubt revealing a moment of sheer surprise. But, once again, the little girl before him had been able to expertly remove this Sky Father's son from his pensive mood. By the time his sister had come into the room a second time, Brontes's eyes were firmly planted on the little girl before him who'd once again captured his attention, the warm smile on the man's face had grown.
Something about this little girl was telling him her questions weren't quite as pure as he'd originally believed, but even if that was the case, it was still very much amusing. Brilliant., he thought to himself. Still, as he was about to dispel this girl's question on reflex - before adding in a bit of fuel to the fire himself, of course - Adam found himself stopping in his tracks. His brows furrowed slightly and his head cocked to the side at a tilt, after which his eyes rolled up to the top-right corner of his field of vision. A short ”Hmm” escaped his closed lips. In truth, idiosyncratic never did feel like quite enough to describe his siblings. A short list of faces and people ran through his mind to make certain that this girl hadn't stumbled upon an actual quirk of Zeus children he himself hadn't realised.
”Not according to what I remember.” - he finally answered after a beat or two of silence in a room no doubt filled with awkwardness. Whether Maddie had done it on purpose or not, the truth was things would be oh-so-sweeter if neither of them acknowledged the naked blonde just yet. Especially considering she seemed to be edging closer towards striking a pose that said something along the lines of 'Don't ignore me!'. ”But then I have been away a while..." - he added, just reticently enough to have the poor Daphne believe he was had said his piece, before continuing: "That was a very good question, little one. I have to say I'm surprised. What's your name?” - Adam would inquire, offering Maddie a flash of his pearly whites, no doubt a gesture of approval.
The growing smile on his lips was halted, lest the sly grin it was no doubt evolving into be seen, something which would likely spell the end of this situation that was much too fun to pass on. After all, what kind of big brother would Adam be if he didn't get a few laughs at his baby sister's expense?

Might be interesting to do something between Royce and Adam.
The 'why' might be a little too long, but I'll try to keep it as short and sweet as I possibly can.
Adam's descended from Odysseus, and because of it, he's always had a fixation with Poseidon (the Divine Antagonist of the Odyssey), the Sea, and Horses (the Trojan horse was Odysseus's idea), so there's an intrinsic connection to uncle po-po's camp.
He's just returned from a long absence, so the two are in similar boats. To boot, he's just been made Counsellor (most likely against his wishes) and, with a younger sister that might be trying to keep him in line, the guy's in need of someone that's low maintenance, to mostly pretend he's doing actual work. And Royce's straight as an arrow. She's independent, hard-working, and a fitness fanatic, which means she'll practically teach herself. And she doesn't talk much. She couldn't be any more perfect, really.
From an OOC standpoint, it might be fun to have them interact, considering Royce's still very much detached from this place that's new and weird, whereas Adam's lived here his whole life and even if he is out-of-date with current events (which might be something they could bond over), he's still got a lot to share. So you'd have a give-and-take thing going, where Adam'd get to pass off as a 'hard-worker' without much of it, and some of his 'rolling with the punches' attitude might rub off on Royce, who does seem to be a bit wound up at the moment.
That's about it. Please do let me know what you think

As his name rung out in the air, the Orwellian novel was lowered to his crossed legs, moving it away from sight - clearly, there was no point in trying to read. The fates weren't giving him that, today. After a moments of staring into nothingness to accept this realisation, the man's lips would sketch and he'd release a few silent chuckles, before his blue eyes found this voice's owner. "Harper." - he said, the warm smile still there, the thought of reading now gone for good. "I come bearing gifts." - the demigod remarked, as he set the book aside for good and raised a new beer bottle.
The Husky had clearly been intrigued by the situation and, as such, materialised himself by his owner's side, tail a-wagging. The dog was smart and had long since figured out that women walking Adam's way usually meant he'd get some attention (the dog may or may not have be used as a way to attract women in the two years' worth of travel). "This is Argos." - he explained - "My uncle had told me he wanted to get me a pet. I told him that, with my lifestyle it'd have to know how to pull its own weight, so he got me a sled dog. Hence the size. Harmless, though." Being on the road for two whole years meant being around mostly new people, which meant that he had to answer the same questions over and over and over again. The routine was so deeply ingrained at this point that half the information was now offered up willingly to simply get it out of the way. It helped that it was a fun little quirky thing, as well.
Offering the approaching woman a wink, Brontes would pat the stone bench beside him and comment with the same sharp tongue Harper would no doubt expect from him: "Come. Sit. Drink. Tell me all of the things that I have missed and most likely don't really care about."

Long Island, Camp Half-Blood | The liver is evil and it must be punished. | Amphitheatre
Alcohol. The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems The Simpsons Camp life was hectic, as per usual. Boatloads of kids with raging hormones, a whole lot of confusion, and copious amounts of adrenaline made for an environment that wasn't easy to adapt to. Adam hadn't even been here a week and from naked walk-ins to Zeus knows what, his life seemed to be devolving into a sit-com. It was getting to a point where a laugh-track was starting to be needed. Intrigue and gossip ran amuck as per usual, and truth be told, he hadn't liked it back when he was 12 and things stayed more or less the same. Especially now that he was on the older side of the campers, what a 16 year-old girl did to a 16 year-old boy felt like something that'd get him three-to-five in a state penitentiary.
Thankfully, he'd remembered the Amphitheatre. When he first discovered drinking during his teens, he'd realised that this particular place used to be fairly empty during the day, and as such made the perfect location to get the magical juice that made other people sound considerably more interesting without running the chance of encountering his favourite wheelchair-based centaur. This was the place that started his days of binge-drinking (a tradition the demigod would not allow to die in the foreseeable future).
On this day, however, there were other plans. Just a good book and a few cold beers and, if the seamstresses will it, a little peace and quiet. Having found a neat little spot with just enough room to spread his legs, the man sat there, his back leaning against the step above him, Argos a couple of feet away in the shade with some water next to him, and a copy of Orwell's 1984. Conspiracy theories do sound better when there's some booze in you, after all. Some light R&R, at long last.

Out of all the things the man had missed in the Camp, this glorified mausoleum never really had been close to the top of the list. In all his years here, he had thought of many words to describe this place, and changed his mind often in regards to it. However, for all his many takes on the building, homey had never once crossed his mind. Still, this is the ceiling he’d be waking up to for the foreseeable future, and that was fine.
When Maddie crept in, both man and dog were in their own individual worlds, until they were jolted out of them and brought back to the land where people lived by a particularly sharp little girl.
”You’re old”, she had said. No ifs, no ands, no buts. There was nothing even remotely resembling a question in the ballpark of that statement. It was all it was. A statement. She’d had a thought, and figured she’d get it out into the world… How peculiar, he thought to himself.
”I know! It’s weird, right?” he told the girl, his tone calm as usual. Adam then proceeded to sit down while releasing a small grunt as a proper old man should. Feigned, of course, but the kid didn’t know that. As far as first impressions go, he quite liked this little one. She has… what’s that ridiculous word the Americans use? Spunk. She’s got spunk.. As his inner monologue came to a close, the sketches of a smile could be seen on the demigod’s face.
”So, young one.” - he said, clapping his hands together once to further emphasise this ‘old man’ status he seemed to have inherited, his normally neutral British accent now sounded a tad more dignified as well - ”Who might you be? Tell me things.” - he was loving this.
