Hailey really hated Xenos for the last couple of painful months and the shadow javelin that he used to pierce through her shoulder. And for the sling that she was forced to wear and the surge of pains she felt surge through her arm if she even attempted to move her shoulder one bit. At least it was a clean wound the Apollo kids told her. It was good it completely pierced through her shoulder so it could heal properly. A very long and painful healing process.

She was in the infirmary getting the bandage changed on her shoulder, since it was still oozing a green liquid. Hailey was pretty sure that was more of a sign of infection than it healing properly. However, the Apollo kids apparently knew what they were doing, so she let them do their duties. That is, until she heard the screams.

She jumped off the couch just as the Apollo kid was finishing up the bandage. She got yelled at, but she didn't care as she rushed out of the infirmary and onto the porch of the Big House. There was hellfire and people screaming. She was about to scream for Chiron when someone appeared from the fire. It couldn't be. Her good hand reached down and grabbed her dagger as she approached him.

Was it really William? She didn't personally know him, but she knew that he disappeared after the battle, along with everyone else. She heard whispers that he went with the traitors, but that was obviously not true, especially right now. But it didn't look like him, but that maybe was due to the fact that he looked pretty beaten up. "What are you doing back?" she said to him as she narrowed her eyes slightly. "We thought you completely left camp."

Hailey was quite too pissed to notice that she dropped her dagger into the water when she was pulled underneath the water. She stormed out of the water with the intent to go back to her cabin and to shower and clean up. She felt all gritty with all the salt on her body and now the sand sticking to her clothes. She was so caught up in her thoughts and her own schedule that she didn't notice the little fox walking beside her carrying her dagger. She stopped, smiled slightly, before she bent down to grab her dagger and sheath it.

And then she heard the boy's voice calling out to her. She glared at him over her shoulder as she tired to decide what to do with him. She couldn't deny the opportunity to get her revenge, even though she was pretty sure that he was flirting with her. She turned around and walked up to him. She placed her hand on his chest and gave him a firm push. She chuckled to herself as she shook her head. "You're late, you know," she said with a big smirk, "by about a year. Flirting really gets you nowhere with Hunters."

Hailey was trying her best to get the foxes off of the boy, until her mind started playing tricks on her. Instead of the fox biting the boy's arm off, it was licking it. She stopped trying to stab it and just stared at it. Were the drugs for her shoulder really messing with her that much? She never had hallucinations before now.

However, she didn't get to ponder over that question too long before she felt herself grabbed and dunked into the water. She screamed, but was immediately cut off with a mouthful of salt water. She struggled against the arm surrounding her before she could get to the surface. She gasped for breath as she started choking out the water she accidently swallowed She glared at the boy in the middle of her coughing fit once her eyes found him. "You mean..." she said between coughs. "That was... a joke?"

Ever since her sister went good again and she got that spear through the shoulder, Hailey was laying low at camp. Her mistress wanted her to stay at camp until she was better and in the meantime, do some recruiting for the Hunters. Numbers were dropping off since the battle with the primordials barely begun. What they really needed was mortals who really didn't know what the Hades they were doing.

She was walking on the beach with her arm in a sling. She was getting tired of being cooped up in the Artemis cabin and she just needed to get out and get some fresh air. And apparently rescue something.

She didn't think arctic foxes were from around here, but there was a boy being pulled underneath the waves of the ocean by one. She groaned and rolled her eyes before she took off at a sprint into the ocean. "It's okay," she called out to the boy in case he could hear her. "I'm coming to save you!"

Hailey felt confident when she was on the porch and Danny wasn't. It gave her an air of superiority, which she had to feel over boys as a Hunter. However, that was completely shaken as he got up on the porch with her and grabbed her wrist. Her defenses fell as he tore into her that she didn't do the automatic Hunter response: slap him and tell him off. But he was gone and all Hailey could do was stare at him as he left. It was a painful reminder of why she became a Hunter. He left her. She pressed her lips together as she turned around to open the door to her cabin. She glanced over her shoulder once she opened it and stopped. Danny was looking at her with a softer smile. A smile that she fell in love with. Her heart fluttered as she felt those three little words poised at the tip of her tongue. Three little words that would get her in trouble if she muttered them aloud. She shook her head as she turned back, entered her cabin, and shut the door behind her.

Hailey's heart stopped as it sunk into the depths of her stomach. He loved somebody else after her? Someone better? A Zeus. Her still heart started beating rapidly. How dare he? How could she give him everything she had, had him dump her, and then go on to love somebody else.

She grabbed the knife off of the table and gripped it hard, but she didn't do anything else with it. She knew she was turning red, even redder because of her hair. So she did what any rational Hunter would do. She slapped him hard across the face before she stood up. "How dare you," she hissed at him. "How dare you after everything we've been through." She then proceeded to pick her plate up off the table and dumped the contents on him. "I'm not hungry anymore," she spat as she turned around to walk straight out of the mess hall and into the safety of the Artemis cabin.

Hailey's heart immediately jumped up her throat and then plummeted down to the pit of her stomach as he moved to her side of the table. She felt weak, defenseless without that physical barrier between them. She didn't notice the change of eye color, but she did notice the slight change of behavior. She never really understood Danny like that. Then she felt that spark turn into a flame as he took her hand. "Danny..." she said as she pulled her hand out of his grasp. She didn't need to battle these kind of feelings, especially with him so close. She was going to do something stupid if he didn't get far enough away from her. She quickly looked around the mess hall, noticing the looks they were getting. "What are you doing?" she whispered to him as she turned back to look at him.
