This would work. He would have to get a script filled but that wasn’t a major deal. People didn’t tend to ask questions from the sick dead kid and he had blank prescriptions for days. All in all this was working out better than he had thought. Thinking about it now Drew really hasn't expected her to agree to come with him at all. He guessed that he should be thankful about that but he still felt like crap. This didn't feel right and yet he still kept coming back to the fact that he really didn’t have any other options.
Viv would find out eventually he know. He couldn’t keep this from her forever especially with them coming back to what in all likelihood would be a destroyed camp but he would cross that bridge when he got there. For now he was just ready to get them both to safety. “Alright,” He said almost back to his normal self for once. “Fifteen minutes is okay. I can wait for you if you don’t need any help and Viv?” He gave her a smile, small but definitely there. “Thanks for this. Really.” He didn’t know how much she would be thanking him later but what’s done was done. He had made his decision and now he was going to have to deal with the consequences.

Drew said nothing as she fired back at him. He deserved every word. It was lame, he knew it was lame and yet it needed to be done. He could atone for all this later, he hoped, but right now the most important thing was getting out of camp before it was attacked. Still, maybe there was a little hope after all. She didn't seem as mad at him for his excuse as he would have thought and eventually she did relent and finally agree to go with him.
Drew breathed an audible sigh of relief he had been so sure that she would refuse him that he didn't even catch her joke but at least she was going with him willingly. "Yes, I'm happy." He said still obviously relieved. "I'll tell you more if you want to hear it but later okay? You may not even want to know but you deserve to." This was probably going to come back to bite him later but now that he had actually told someone he was sick he found it was a lot easier to think about telling more. Not that he wanted to of course but Viv deserved something even if he felt like scum of the earth for lying to her. "I know you need to get your stuff, probably Zeke, but I need to get out of here tonight if possible. Can you handle that?"

Drew drummed his fingers nervously on the side of his leg. He didn’t want to do this not yet, not ever really but if he was going to get anywhere with Viv it was obvious that he was going to have to come clean about some things. Still, did he really think he could trust this girl? Was she really worth all this trouble? This was probably going to be the worst mistake he ever made but he had one ace up his sleeve and he decided that now was the time to play it if there ever was one.
“I’m dying.” He said it so plainly that it really might have missed some of the punch that a statement like that usually had. He didn’t stop there though and before the weight of that statement could really sink in he continued. “Not in the sense like we’re all dying I mean I’m literally a dead man walking. I’m sick Viv. No one else at camp knows, not even Chiron. I’ve kept it a secret for a long time but now things are getting worse. That’s why I’ve got to get out of here. I have to get more medicine and I have to do it before anyone here notices. I thought you might be able to help…”
It was a lie, albeit a small one, but if it got her moving then was it really a bad thing? He didn’t think so. Desperate times called for desperate measures and this was about as desperate as he got. He had to do whatever it took to get her to safety and this with his ace. He just hoped it worked. “Now do you understand why I keep to myself? Why I tried to push you away? I wanted to tell you but be honest, would you if you were in my shoes?”

She was telling him things he already knew. He knew it sounded crazy, knew it wasn't cool but what could he do? "I wouldn't be doing this if I had a choice." Except he did have a choice didn't he? He was supposed to be killing her right now all for some sadistic bitch's game but could he do that? He didn't think so. Not the one person who kind of sorta got him. He had to find an alternative and this was it.
"Look, I'm sorry. I know this isn't cool but it's more important than any of that." Was it that important though? He should have been trying to get the entire camp to evacuate that way the Kraken could level the place and they could be done with it. Instead he was here with one girl. What was so important about Viv that he needed to save her? Maybe it was just that the act of saving a girl who should be dead was the biggest form of rebellion against his father that he could think of or maybe it was something else. It didn’t matter though because she wasn’t buying it.
He needed to give her something but how could he explain this without pushing her further away than he already had? There really wasn't a way out of this. Drew fiddled nervously with the pack of cigarettes in his pocket before he realized that he had just thrown his only lighter into the bay. "Damn it..." He mumbled. Finally he let out a sigh and looked at her again. "I told you that I wasn't a good guy, that there were things about me you didn't know...are you sure you want to go there?"

She wasn’t taking it well. He could tell. She wanted answers but he couldn’t give them, at least not yet. “Look, I know it sounds crazy.” He confirmed. It even sounded crazy to him which wasn’t good. “And I will explain just…not now.” He shook his head. He needed to give her something or this would all be for nothing. Later, if there was a later and they got out of here, he could explain everything and he would but right now time was of the essence.
“Something has come up.” He said realizing that he still wasn’t really giving her a straight answer. “It’s nothing major but it’s something I’ve got to handle and I can’t run it through Chiron because I don’t have the time.” He gave her another shrug. “Look, haven’t you ever just wanted to get out of here for a while? It’s not like there’s anything holding us here and if you go I’ll explain everything.” He hoped that was true but he did think he would have to come clean about some things and then there was camp too...He would just have play this by ear.

“I’ll do the fucking job.” He said with a sneer. At his sides his hands clenched into fists a clear sign of his rapidly diminishing patience. Hannah had done what she came here to do. She had gotten under his skin, exposed his secret and left him with a terrible choice. He was going to have to think about that choice for some time but that didn’t mean that he had to do it while Hannah was still around and gloating over him like the crazy bitch she was.
Drew was done dealing with this girl, tired of her condescending remarks and her laughs at his expense. “If there’s nothing else get out. You’ve made your point and I’ve got planning to do.” He was going to have to figure out a way out of this. He didn’t know how yet but it was obvious to him that the way went through Viv. He just had to decide if this was something he would or could do.

He was just about to give up on her when he finally heard her voice behind him over the waves. It was definitely Viv and she didn’t sound happy. That wasn’t too surprising considering how he had been acting lately, distracted, distant, brooding. It was no wonder she had questions and he wouldn’t doubt it if she was a little miffed at him too. It didn’t matter though. She could be mad at him if she wanted but right now there were more important things to worry about.
Drew spun around to face her at her question. There were some things that he couldn’t explain to her right now. They didn’t have the time for the explanations that were needed and she probably wouldn’t believe him if he had given them. Instead Drew glanced her over quickly noticing that she didn’t bring the cat. Damn, that was going to make things difficult. The chance that she would like what he had to say would be even less if the cat wasn’t involved but there was nothing to be done about it now. He had to go on one way or the other.
“I called you out here because I had something to tell you.” He said ignoring her question. He had thought this over several times but even now he didn’t know if it was right. Would she even listen to him? Probably not. It wasn’t like they had any connections binding them to each other and yet still he did feel responsible for this mess they were in. “I’m leaving camp.” He said blandly. “Not for long. A few weeks maybe.” This was the moment of truth. Was his desperate gambit going to work? There was only one way to find out. “I want you to come with me.”

Drew paced silently on the beach as he waited for Viv to show. His hands nervously fiddled with his lighter trying to light another cigarette but when it was obvious that his fingers either would not or could not produce the desired flame he growled and hurled the lighter out into the water his desire to smoke dying in him like a cold ember.
He was mad. Furious at himself for letting himself be trapped and furious at the girl who had done the trapping. He wasn't sure whether he considered that girl to be Viv or Hannah yet but one thing was for certain, his mind was in such a mess right now that he couldn’t think. Everything was crashing in around him. He didn't know how things had gotten this bad but he saw only one way out of it right now and his soul be damned he was going to take it. The only problem was that he didn't have much time.
At the thought of time struck him Drew cast a nervous glance out at the waters. It would be happening soon. He felt a little bad about camp but this place needed to be cleansed of any presence of the gods he was still certain on that. The only problem now was that he had to take care of Viv. He had made his decision and now he had to go through with it. Truthfully he didn't think it would be that hard. With all the confusion around camp no one would notice one missing girl until it was too late. That would give him enough time to do what needed to be done but if Viv didn't show it would be all for nothing and at that he started pacing again. "Damn it Viv where are you?" He mumbled under his breath.

Was this what he had signed up for when he joined the Usurpers? He had signed up to get revenge on the gods, to bring down their tyrannical rule and as far as he could see this didn't help that goal along at all. Killing innocent girls, especially girls that he actually liked wasn't a part of the bill of goods he was sold. And yet she was right in a way. If what Hannah was saying was true then the gods had overstepped their bounds bringing Viv back and being a child of Thanatos Drew had some very firmly entrenched ideals about death being final.
"The gods have made their mistakes." He said distantly. "We are more than going to make them pay for it. This...this is wrong." He wasn't even sure himself anymore and the worst part was that she had him trapped. He guessed he could run again that was always a choice but where would he go this time? It wasn't like anyone could help him either. No, he had made his choices and now he had to deal with the consequences.
With a sigh Drew released the girl. What had he gotten himself into? "Give me my pills." He said bitterly as his voice took on a harder tone. He could have snapped the girl's neck at this point and yet he didn't. She had him this time. "I do this and you leave me be. If you don't I swear there will not be enough gods or monsters between the two of us that will be able to keep me from getting to you and ending you."

The girl continued on and what she said sounded almost as insane as she was. Viv had died and yet she was alive? How was that even possible? Why would Hades have sent her back? This didn't make any sense and perhaps the most outrageous thing of all was that Hannah was claiming to know all of this because she had been the one to kill Viv by drowning. "You're lying." He said in an uncertain tone of voice. "None of that makes any sense and even if you had attacked her maybe you were just too stupid to realize you hadn't finished the job."
He had said it to hurt her but did he really believe she would be that dumb? He found that he couldn't. So what did that mean for him? It didn't take long for him to find out the answer to that question however and when she did it left him more confused than ever. "You want me to kill Viv for you?" All at once Drew could feel his blood heating up. He closed the distance between them and slammed Hannah's shoulders back against the wall pinning her there. "Are you fucking crazy!? What'd she ever do you? This is wrong and I won't have any part of it!"

Drew glared at the girl. He hadn't liked her before but this was just crazy. What was her game? What did he possibly have that she could be hoping to squeeze out of him and if it was some kind of blackmail why him of all people? Whatever those answers were he wasn't sure they mattered at this point. The situation wasn't a good one and she would soon learn that he did not like being controlled.
She was being patronizing and he liked that even less. He wished she would just get to the point already because he wasn't in the mood for her games. He was just about to say as much but something she said made him pause. Viv had a secret that she was keeping from him? He had been so concerned about his own secrets that he hadn't even thought to ask about Viv's secrets. He didn't see how it could matter to this situation but how could he not be curious? "What do you know?" He said trying to hide it. "You're a heartless bitch with delusions of grandeur. Give me my pills and go crawling back to the cold black hole you came out of."

Drew didn't have to look long until he found the real reason behind his missing pills. A little rattle of the pill bottle and a malicious chuckle behind him had him turning around in a blur to face whoever dared sneak into his cabin and toss his stuff. What he found there though caused him to pause. He had a vague recollection of the girl's face but it had been a while since he had seen her. He had seen her somewhere before though and after a moment everything slid into place with a grim finality. "You..." He remembered her now. It was the crazy usurper girl he had met in the forest a few weeks back. The one that had made all those threats and now here she was again apparently with a vengeance.
Drew narrowed his eyes at the girl. He was angry and he wasn't in the mood for games. The fact that she knew about Viv at all showed that she had been watching him for some time and that only made him angrier. Whatever this girl's angle was he was having none of it. "What do you want?" He snapped at her. "And if you mention a word about this to Viv or anyone else I'm going to tear you apart."

What a day. Drew walked back to his cabin tired, alone and looking like he was dead to the world. He had been skimping on his meds recently. He didn't want to run out and he had been trying to make his supply last. He didn't know if he could do that but he was trying it anyways and it was finally starting to take its toll. At this point all Drew really wanted to do was take his meds, fall into bed and just crash. Maybe at least then he would be able to get some peaceful rest for once.
He entered his cabin not really looking for anything out of the ordinary. No one came by his cabin except for him and Viv and if anything was out of place he would have assumed Viv had been there. Drew had only one thing on his mind and he went straight for the dresser with its hidden stash of pills. There was one problem though. The pills weren't there. "Gods damn it..." He grumbled and began looking around for where he might have put those pill bottles. He had to find them or he was going to be in some serious trouble.

He smirked at her. She was probably thinking he was going crazy again with statements like that but he didn’t care. He just had a lot of questions on his mind and not a lot of answers. Still, it didn’t look like either of them were in a rush to mess this thing up by getting any type of serious attachments. If things could stay like this for while then he wasn’t going to complain.
He watched her stretch out like a cat and admired her there in her t-shirt. It really was a sight to see. “Come on. Let’s get some sleep.” He paused there for a moment but then added with a sly smile. “If you stay for a while we can try that exercise stuff again. Maybe even try for something a little calmer this time.”

The fact that she was taking him seriously on his offer and not just blowing it off was a good thing. Their earlier arguments seem to be water under the bridge and even though that had led to some of the best sex he could remember he was glad. He really did like Viv and trying to push her away hadn’t been fun. Still, he was going to have to cross that bridge with her again at some point.
Was he making things worse by not just being upfront with her? Probably but when did you find the time to talk about something like terminal illness? Certainly not when things finally seemed to be settling down. He didn’t really know but he did know that Viv was right about one thing. “Yeah.” He said distantly as he finished off his cigarette and sighed. “It works.” He flicked the ashes from his cig away and mashed it out in a small try he kept by the bedside. He wasn’t sure what this was either but he liked it. Viv liked it too and as long as they were both enjoying whatever this was he supposed it was okay. He just hoped no one got hurt. “Hey Viv?” He asked to get her attention. “For what it’s worth you’re alright.” He gave he a bit of smile. Whatever it was that they had found in each other it was alright too, at least for now. Hopefully he could keep it that way for a while.
