Gone Away (Quest Thread Thingy)

[Marius Rodomonte]

"I don't think that ambrosia will help too much with the pain and it's not that safe of an idea to take anymore." Marius smirked and raised an eyebrow as he thought about something when she moved a little closer and buried her face into his chest. "You undressed me to treat me." He said with an even wider smirk. "Did you like what you saw?" The son of Hermes teased Daphne as he realized that he was still completely stripped down underneath the blanket he was using. His hand slowly trailing down her back.

Daphne's face went a bright red as Marius pointed out what she done to him. "Umm..." she muttered as she avoided her eyes or even looking at his body. "I had to make sure that I treated all the cuts and bruises and to see if there was any broken bones..." She pressed her lips together as she glanced up at the ceiling as she couldn't believe she was having this conversation with him. "I wasn't really.... looking when I was treating you... I was more concerned about losing you... then parts you had..." She pressed her lips together as she squirmed a bit uncomfortably as his hands trailed down her back.

"If you didn't look, then why are you so red right now?" Marius teased her with a slight smirk. "You wouldn't have that much to be embarrassed about if you didn't see anything." His hand stopped at the small of her back, resting there as he looked down at her. "So maybe you looked after you were done treating my wounds?" He asked as his smirk grew in size. "I don't blame you. I am a beautiful man." The son of Hermes said with a soft chuckle at her.

"Because you're asking me this question," Daphne mumbled to him as she squirmed even more as his hands finally rested on her lower back. She pressed her lips together as she tried not to turn a darker shade of red. She finally sighed as she admitted, "I might had a glance or two..." She giggled when he called himself beautiful and she looked back at him and smirked. "Beautiful is up for debate," she said with a slight giggle. "Handsome, definitely." She leaned up to peck him on the lips as she rested her head against the pillows. "I think we should stay a day or two here until I know you're healed up." She nodded towards the bruise on his side. "I don't want you fighting until that heals up."

"Nah, I'm pretty certain I qualify for more than just handsome." Marius said with a slight chuckle before lightly poking her in the ribs. "But then again it's hard to compare myself to someone as pretty and beautiful as you. It makes it difficult to appreciate anything else." He told her as he shifted slightly to look at her better. "And do we have to stay here?" The son of Hermes asked her. "I think I'll be ready to go in the morning." He grit his teeth when he moved again, trying to keep her from seeing his pain.

Daphne giggled a bit and squirmed as Marius poked her in the ribs. However, her face turned a darker shade of red when he called her pretty and beautiful. She wasn't about to protest like she did with Achilles. She was slowly starting to believe it, but she was still pretty sure that everyone was just saying that.

However, she frowned a bit when he shifted and was trying to mask the pain he was in. "No," she told him as she looked at him. "You are not okay and I don't want you fighting like this." She sighed a bit as her face softened a bit. "I don't want you out there injured and possibly get even more hurt." She leaned in to kiss him gently before she muttered. "Get some sleep. It's probably one of the best things for you to do right now."

It was a couple of days later before Daphne started packing up her things so her and Marius could set off on the quest. She glanced over her shoulder and smirked at him. He wanted to go yesterday, but Daphne was able to quiet his protests with a couple of kisses... more than a couple, but it worked. "Where are we heading to next?" she asked Marius as she zipped up her backpack and moved to put on her shoes.

"I can only think of trying one other source for a prophecy." Marius said as he got dressed, pulling his shirt on. "I think we have to try and find or get a hold of Apollo." He sighed as he thought of having to deal with any god. "We can't really use the oracle at camp because this isn't a camp quest." The thief turned to look at Daphne once he was dressed. "And with that circus being a possible trap I don't think we should try to find it again." He grabbed his backpack and the numerous knives of his that had been put to the side when Daphne was nursing him back to health. He replaced them in their proper places. "You ready?"

Daphne stopped tying her shoes and her blood ran cold as Marius mentioned seeing Apollo. She couldn't help but think of the time she tried to attack the god of medicine and prophecies in her dreams. And if she really saw him in his godly form while she was awake... She shook her head as she squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to get rid of those brutal images in her head.

"Do we have to see Apollo?" she whined a bit as she opened her eyes to glance over her shoulder to look at Marius. "Isn't there some other god we can see besides him? Like a minor god or whatnot?" She finally tied up her shoes as she stood up and grabbed her backpack. She sighed a bit. "I guess I'm ready as I'll ever be," she muttered to him as she headed towards the door.

"Is something wrong?" Marius asked her with a concerned look when she protested against going to see Apollo. "I guess we don't have to, but I can't think of anything better we can do at this point." He walked up behind her and grabbed her shoulders to stop her. "We can try one of the wind gods if you would prefer, but I heard that they were still pretty pissed off at demigods in general about something or another." The son of Hermes held onto her and rubbed her shoulders comfortingly as he thought of solutions. "We don't have to go see him if you don't want to."

"I just don't want to, okay?" Daphne said as she didn't bother turning back around to face him. She didn't want to explain to him how she hated Apollo because she wasn't his child and that lead her mother to kicking her out of the house. She inwardly groaned a bit as Marius grabbed her shoulders, but she slowly felt herself relax as he rubbed them comfortingly. She pressed her lips together as he listed off other options, but she didn't like any of them. "Maybe we can convince one of the wind gods to like us... I mean... they're under my father's domain..." She glanced over her shoulder to look up at him. "Can we please see one of them instead?"

As soon as Marius saw the look on Daphne's face he decided to try and ask one of the wind gods for help for her sake. "Okay, let's do that then. I won't force you into seeing Apollo." He thought about which god they should try and ask for help, trying to remember the names of all the wind gods. The son of Hermes could remember only about two of them off the top of his head and it irritated him that he couldn't recall the other ones. "We should probably try and find a new form of transportation first though."

Daphne couldn't help but smile a bit as Marius agreed to see one of the other wind gods instead. "Thank you," she whispered to him. At least now she didn't see the god she hated for the last few years and explain to Marius why she didn't want to see him. "We can go see Eurus or maybe Notus... I hear they're the nicer of the wind gods..." She shrugged a bit as she stepped forward so Marius was no longer massaging her shoulders. "We should check the garage... I remember seeing a car in there when I was savaging the house one of the times you were asleep... we can check that out and see if it's still running."

"Yeah, let's do that. Maybe I can hot wire it if we can't find the keys." Marius said as he looked down at Daphne before reaching over to take her hand gently. "Why don't you show me where the car is, and while we work on it we can decide where we're going." His hand giving hers a gentle squeeze as he glanced around, wondering which way to go. "Now, which way to the garage? You didn't let me move much the past few days."

Daphne glanced down at their clasped hands as soon as Marius held it. Her mind wandered to other thing. More personal and intimate things flooded her mind and she felt feelings she hadn't felt for a long time. Daphne didn't catch a word Marius said until he stopped talking. "Huh?" she asked as she looked up at him before her face turned a bright red. "Oh, right," she mumbled as she lightly tugged on his hand as she lead him towards the garage. "It's this way..." She quickly turned so Marius didn't have to look at her increasingly red face too long.

Marius barely caught a glance of Daphne's blush before she turned to lead him to the garage. His eyes studied her for a couple of moments before stopped and used her momentum to turn her around and pull her back to him. "What's got you so embarrassed, beautiful?" He asked her with a smile at her red face as he held her close. His arms wrapped around her to make sure she didn't try to run off. "You didn't hear anything I said before, did you?" The son of Hermes raised an eyebrow at her with a chuckle.
