Gone Away (Quest Thread Thingy)

[Daphne Scotts]

Daphne wrapped her arms around Marius as she nuzzled her face into his neck a little bit more. She took a deep breath as she tried to wake up, but also savor the scent of whatever he just put on. Maybe she had to steal some for herself. "I slept well," she muttered as she pulled away to look at him which was right when he started whispering ideas into her ear. Her eyes widened as a deep blush crept onto her face. "I... umm..." she muttered as she squirmed away from him and untangled herself from his arms. "That's quite... detailed..." She pulled away from him as she stood up. "I should get ready," she muttered to him as she went to grab her stuff.

Marius tried not to laugh too much at Daphne's reaction to his ideas. He held onto her for a moment before letting her get away. "What's wrong, beautiful?" His eyes showed how amused he was at her embarrassment over what he had told her. "Remember that I got those ideas because of last night and you." The thief stood up and walked over to her as she grabbed her things. "I have a few other ideas too that I might tell you about later. They could be lots of fun." He winked at her before moving to the phone and ordering them something to eat from the hotel.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong," Daphne muttered as she tried to avoid the question. She had her attention fully on grabbing her clothes and toiletries before making a dash to the bathroom. But he had to come up to her and reminds her about those ideas and add that there were more. "Ummm..." She muttered again as she pressed her lips together as her face heated up even more. "I know..." She dashed to the bathroom as soon as he stepped away her and locked the door behind her. From there, she took a very long shower trying to calm herself down and to make sure she got herself extra clean from the night before. It was a while before she stepped out of the bathroom all cleaned up.

Marius chuckled when Daphne finally stepped out of the bathroom, turning to look at her after making sure all of his things were together. "Food got here while you were getting cleaned up." He said to her with a smirk. His hands closed up his pack before he stood up and walked over to the table where he had put the food. "You sure took your time. What were you doing in there?" The son of Hermes asked her with a teasing smirk. "Working out some frustrations?" He teased her a little more.

Daphne barely stepped out of the shower when another bright blush crept onto her face, which was what she spent most of the shower getting rid of. "No... not that," she muttered as she focused on packing her bags quickly. This was going to be one embarrassing quest if they kept up teasing one another. She zipped up her bags and walked over to the table. She kept her head ducked down trying to contain her blush as she grabbed a couple of muffins and fruit and juice. She tried to eat as best as she could. After a couple of bites, she dared to look up at Marius. "So..." she said as she took a deep breath trying to calm down any more blush on her face. "Do you have an idea how we're going to do this?"

Marius really couldn't keep the grin off his face at just how long Daphne was blushing, not even sure that it was possible until just now. "Well, there is always the plan of just walking in and asking questions, but there isn't much chance of success with that plan, is there?" He suggested with a shrug before grabbing a small slice of ham and a biscuit. "Do you know exactly where we could find him?" The son of Hermes asked her as he thought of possible solutions to their problem. "Because then I could easily get us to him."

Daphne sighed as Marius ruined possibly the only plan she had going. Besides going in and asking this wind god what the oracle was for this quest, she absolutely had nothing. She shrugged a bit. "I know he's posing as one of the politicians," she said as she looked at him as he ate. "I think his office is somewhere in the middle of Capitol Hill, but it's covered by mist so mortals think it's a closet or whatnot."

She finished up her breakfast as she stood up just as he said about him getting them there. She narrowed her eyes as she put her hands on her hips. "If you mean teleporting, then no," she told him off. "You do not need to be straining yourself, Marius. We will drive there if it's the last thing we do."

"No, I was thinking of just sneaking in, Daphne." Marius assured her with a slight smirk on his face. "I don't actually teleport everywhere I go." He rolled his eyes exaggeratedly and turned to grab some more food. "I'd never be able to steal anything if I did that. I'd be in bed almost all day." His smirk grew wider as he stood up and walked past her. "Though if you were in bed with me, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea." The son of Hermes whispered to her as he passed her.

Daphne let out a breath she been holding after her little teleportation rant. He wasn't planning on teleporting. He wasn't going to hurt himself further. She relaxed a bit before she started eating again before she choked on her food. She coughed a bit and her face became a brighter red than before after he whispered into her ear. "Ummm..." She muttered as he passed her. She was trying to think of something witty to say to him, but all she could think about was last night and if he didn't hurt his leg how it would have ended. She quickly finished up eating as she grabbed her bag and made sure everything was packed. "We should probably go," she muttered as she kept her head down. "Politicians should be in their offices by now if we need to find our wind god..."

"Okay, let's hope he doesn't decide to just up and run off then." Marius said with a smile as he walks to the door and opened it for her. The was still a noticeable limp in his step, but it seemed much better than it had been the previous day. He wrapped an arm around Daphne's waist and pulled her close and tried to give her a quick kiss before letting her go and leaving the room with her.

The son of Hermes was beyond frustrated at this point as he and Daphne tried tracking down
this stupid wind god, Eurus, or whatever his name was. "Well, this is the last one." He said as they walked up to the only room in the building they hadn't tried looking for him in.

Daphne was beyond frustrated. She thought it would be easier tracking down a wind god posing as a politician. He wouldn't be actually at any of the committee hearings or meetings, so that would cut down on a lot of possibilities, right?

"He better be in there," she muttered, clearly miffed with the circumstances. "How many closets does the capitol hill need anyway?" Then she opened the door and was met with an unusual sight.

Well, unusual, if you weren't used to a bustling waiting room. Papers were flying everywhere. No, not flying. There were strong wings blowing them around the waiting room above the chairs. A secretary was typing away at a computer before she looked up at the duo.

"Are you the 2 pm quest appointment?" she asked flatly. Daphne stared wide eyed at the woman as she reached out to grab Marius's hand. The woman rolled her eyes and pointed to a couple of chairs. "Just wait there. Mr. Eurus will be with you shortly." Daphne looked up at Marius as she slowly pulled him over to the chairs.

Marius was more than a little confused by the sudden flurry of papers and the receptionist behind the desk that should not fit in this closet by any means. He opened his mouth when the lady asked if they were the quest appointment, not sure on what to say. His mouth shut as suddenly as it had opened as they were told to wait, making the son of Hermes even more confused by what was going on. He studied the receptionist, not certain if she was a nature spirit or a monster of some kind.

"This is not how I imagined an office would be for a god," Daphne muttered to Marius as she moved to sit down on the chairs, tugging his hand so he would sit in the chair right next to hers. Daphne's eyes darted around the waiting room as her eyes caught glimpses of the papers flying around the room. Most of them were memos and potential bills, but there was one that caught Daphne's eyes. Kill Demigods.

Daphne gulped as she glanced over at Marius. "I have a bad feeling about this..." She muttered to him as she glanced between the door they came in from and the door she presumed had the god. "We should probably go before..."

Mr. Eurus will see you now," the woman scuffed as she pointed towards the door. Daphne stared at Marius wide eyed as she looked at him. "What do we do now?" she whispered to him.

"I guess we just go inside." Marius said with a grimace. "I don't think we could get away right now if we tried." His grimace quickly changed into a frown as he looked around before walking over to the door that the secretary at pointed them to. "But I can just teleport us out if things do get too dangerous, okay?" He kept his voice low so only Daphne could hear what he was saying. His other worries about what a wind god could do to track them down he kept to himself though.

The son of Hermes turned back to Daphne before opening the door and gave her a smile. "Don't worry, we'll be fine." He promised her before turning and walking through the door, holding it open for her. The sight that greeted him surprised him though. Eurus himself would have looked utterly unimpressive if not for the rain that seemed to follow the suited god's every movement. "Are you my next appointment?" The god asked Daphne and Marius, raising a questioning eyebrow at the two.

Daphne kept such a tight grip on Marius's hand that she swore she was squeezing it off as they walked into the office. Her stomach was in knots as one little tidbit of her mother's content lectures floated into her mind. Eurus is also known as the god of the unlucky wind. How unlucky was he? She slowly nodded her head head to Marius's escape plan as they walked into the office.

"Are you my next appointment?" Daphne's breath caught in her chest. She had only been in the presence of two other gods before: her father and Aphrodite. Unlike Eurus, the managed to look like complete mortals. Eurus, on the other hand, had a rain cloud to hover above and behind him.

"Um... Yes?" Daphne managed to choke out. She felt her flight mechanism starting to kick in. This was bad... so bad. Eurus looked them over before he pointed to the chairs in front of them. Daphne hesitantly looked at the chairs before she moved to sit down in one. Eurus looked over at Marius before he chuckled.

"You look so normal for someone cursed by crazy." Eurus mused as he leaned back in his chair with an all-knowing, but almost evil glint in his eyes. "So what can I do for you today or do you just want to know the exact location to find the sword?"
