Today was one of the days that Dakota had off from her infirmary duties, so she decided that a little sun and sand wouldn't hurt her. She noticed that her skin was pasty white from spending too much time inside. She slathered on a healthy dose of SPF 30 before putting on her vintage-inspired swimsuit before heading out to the beach.

Along the way, she stopped and chatted with people. She was in no hurry anyway, but it felt so nice to be out in the sunshine. Once she finally got to the beach, she waved to a group of Athena kids. "Hey guys!" she greeted them, recognizing a few of them from the infirmary. She decided to set her towel up a few feet away from the Athenas as sat down on the edge of her towel, letting her toes sink into the hot sand as she watched the waves.

"Good at being invisible?" Dakota asked as she cocked an eyebrow at Dylan. "Why would anyone want to be invisible? That just doesn't make sense to me." Dakota shrugged as she smiled a bit. "Then again, I like helping others, so staying invisible just isn't an option to me."

She leaned back in her chair a bit as she relaxed a bit. She decided that she liked this Dylan kid and there was really no reason why she needed to be uptight and tense about it. "So this tree of yours?" she asked with a bit of a smirk as she moved her foot to brush against his. "Do you think you could show me sometime?"

Dakota chuckled a bit as she settled down into her seat. "They didn't really give us enough warning for this date, did they?" she mused as she looked around. For someone who was only given less than a day's notice for this date, he managed to pull it off quite well. Dakota couldn't help but wonder what dates would be like with him if he had even more time. She set the rose down by her plate as she glanced off over the horizon watching the sunset.

Her attention was pulled off the sunset and back to him as she smirked a bit. "Nah," she said as she shook her head. "Nine is probably a good starting point for a first date." She chuckled a bit more as a nymph walked over to their table bearing menus. "So who's the chef?" she asked as she took the menu and thanked the nymph before looking over the selection. "And lots of yummy food too..." she muttered to herself as she tried to make a decision before she looked up at Dylan. "What are you getting?"

Dakota didn't know what list she got on, but she was always the first one her siblings grabbed if someone mentioned needing a blind date. It was probably something about her being relatively new to camp and she hadn't had her initiation yet. Dakota didn't believe in breaking hearts, but she didn't believe she should get in a serious relationship either. That Demeter boy she conned into a date a while back? She hadn't seen him since that night of drunk cuddling.

When she got the news that she was set up for another blind date, Dakota couldn't help but roll her eyes. She had full intentions of scheduling a shift during the date so she had an excuse that she couldn't go until her sisters informed her that no such thing would happen and this was a nice guy she was about to go out with. But then they dragged her into the infamous Aphrodite makeover closet to pick out a suitable outfit for the occasion.

Dakota only had half an hour before her date before she was freed from the claws of the makeover gurus and she had time to straighten out her outfit to her liking. She had cowboy boots on, but they were booties since she found out they would be meeting at the beach and she didn't want to drag out her nicer pairs into the sand.

And then she left with the entire cabin cheering her on. She only rolled her eyes again as she made her way to the beach. It was getting darker out as the sun was about to set, but she could make out the figure on the beach along with a... table? Dakota couldn't help but smirk a bit as she approached the boy. "You're Dylan, right?" she asked as she stuck out her hand. "I'm Dakota."

Her Outfit

It was rare for Dakota to be scheduled an overnight shift in the infirmary. Usually that was reserved for the Apollo kids since they had the built in medical knowledge. But those nights that Dakota did work were mainly slow since most of the patients were asleep. Slow nights usually drove Dakota insane, but the one good thing came out from this was the sunrises.

This morning after her shift, she decided to sit on the front steps of the Big House. She rested her arms on her knees as she watched the sun come over the eastern horizon. She took a deep breath as she felt herself relax. After this, she would head back to her cabin and sleep, but right now she was just going to appreciate mother nature.

"Awww," Dakota cooed to the creature as she continued to stroke its muzzle. "Nobody is gonna hurt you, sweetheart. Nobody is gonna steal your eggs." Dakota learned from an early age to treat horses with respect, like you did with dogs. She talked to them and touched them. She always used calm, soothing voices. Those always seemed to work the best. She glanced over at the boy as she knitted her eyebrows slightly. "You mean omelets?" she said with a bit of a smirk as she glanced over at the animal. "I think if you keep giving her care and love, she'll lay an egg eventually." She giggled a bit as she smiled at the boy as he introduced himself. "I'm Dakota and that's Blue Sky over there." She nodded her head towards her pegasus's pen as she introduced the creature.

Dakota glanced over her shoulder as she heard someone enter the stables. She didn't get a good look of who it was because at that moment, Blue Sky nudged her shoulder and Dakota turned around and fed it one of the sugar cubes she had. She brushed out its mane before she heard someone else talking. She pull her brush away before she turned around and peeked out over the door of the pen to see who it was. It was a boy and he was taking care of one of the creatures in here. "Does she have a name?" she asked as she folded her arms on top of the door and leaned against it. "She's beautiful."
